Pastor Mike and Dr. Tammy Smith - August 18, 2024A 3-week series about finding spiritual flourishing in the midst of floundering relationships___________________There is a tendency these days to think that giving up on relationships when they become difficult is the height of wisdom. While one can certainly see how a relationship that is physically, emotionally, and spiritually dangerous ought to be ended, it seems to grate against Christian hope to abandon relationships at the onset of difficulty. Yes, many dangers, toils, and snares are likely to come along and trip up even healthy relationships. In a world where relationship is at the core of the created order, and sin is tearing at the very fabric of creation, we need to prayerfully consider what to do next when a relationship suffers a set back. What do the Scriptures say? What did Jesus demonstrate during His life for what to do in order to bring about spiritual flourishing in the midst of floundering relationships. When we have been tripped up, what will it look like to get back on our feet again?
