The lawyer representing 'suspended' President of the Grenada Football Association (GFA) Cheney Joseph says that there is a new development regarding the decision of the executive committee to impose a three-month suspension on the incumbent.
The Executive of Grenada Football Association (GFA) has been served with legal documents over the suspension of Cheney Joseph as President.
Ciboney Chambers, the legal firm representing Joseph, wants the GFA Executive to rescind forthwith its decision of last Saturday provisionally dismissing the elected president.Ruggles Ferguson says there is no legal basis for the removal of Joseph as President of the GFA.
Cheney Joseph says he is still the elected President of the Grenada Football Association (GFA) despite what he called an attempted coup by some disgruntled executive members.
Joseph remarks followed a reported decision by five executive members to suspend the president at a meeting on Saturday.No official statement has been released by the GFA but Joseph, who was re-elected unopposed last May, confirmed that a meeting was held and he was informed about the 'attempted coup'.Joseph spoke to GrenadaSports on Sunday January 27, 2019 where he discussed the decision as well as his next move.
