Video artist and producer @Prcls is a figure in Vienna's cultural life you sooner or later bump into. Whether it's the movies, concerts, exhibitions, or simply nightlife – chances are that you ran into him at some point. He is the latest contributor to our BLACK QUARTZ mixtape series and it's a special one. In this one-hour selection, he reminds us of all the good music you cannot find on Spotify et al: records that sound better at different speeds and long-deleted SoundCloud finds.
This month it's Viennese radio host and DJ Trishes (@trishes) taking over the reins of our BLACK QUARTZ mixtape series. The idea for his mix was born at the height of the COVID-19 lockdown in a midnight drive through Vienna. It aims to capture the desolate feeling of empty streets and people isolated, alone at their homes.

Sam Irl (@sam-irl) is an integral part of Vienna's music scene, working as DJ and producer with an impressive portfolio under his belt. It has been exciting to see him grow as an artist for the past 15 years (or so), now working with the likes of Patrick Pulsinger and adding his mastering skills on countless productions. Today, it's a privilege to present his one-hour mix for BLACK QUARTZ, a selection of fine roots reggae and dub tunes. Speaking of which, keep a lookout for his forthcoming dub version of Angela Aux's «Killer Kid» on the Trikont label.
We hope you are doing fine related to the current global circumstances. In the moment of social distancing we'´'d like to come closer with a classy and harmonious selection coming from the musical omniverse of Andrea Ida. Wherever you are, whatever you do and however you feel, stay healthy!
Finally, we got @goldgelbrecords label-head Akrüül in for our Black Quartz series. His mix is full of psychedelic tunes, spring reverbs, space echoes & is a fantastic sixty minutes journey with a steady dub vibe. Watch out for the various-artists compilation coming up on his label, containing tracks from artists lurking in Vienna underground! A limited tape release will be out in March!
Another fantastic selection of music, sounds & radio plays from some of the most fruitful places on our planet. Selector Armin Schmelz has the ability to implant images in the minds of his listeners, leading them from a despicable Viennese bar to an outer borough somewhere in Algeria. Tune into one of Vienna's smartest audio-guides around!

We're happy to present you another fantastic selection from one of Vienna's finest crate diggers. This time Marc Græbnør (@goldcutcrates) gives you a little insight into his collection, ranging from ambient to industrial, from post-punk to dark-wave. 76 minutes of pure bliss – thank you, Marc!
Today, we are excited to have one of the great minds behind Hamburg-based label Pingipung Records, @heiko-h-gogolin, to deliver a mix for our Black Quartz series. Over 85 minutes, Heiko shares his knowledge on how to deep-dive into a meditative state by just listening. What else is left to say than that we urge you to listen to this one!
