Being in your presence I could not wait. The consummate professional you always remained no matter how many hints and gems I dropped... you maintained restraint. Sunset fell and I was hungry. Somehow this time you knew what I craved. My my, you gifted me my favorite Jamaican cuisines. How thoughtful oh, how sweet. If you only knew what was in my dreams. Being the lady of the home I escorted you out as properly as I could. To my surprise, you grabbed my locs, pulled my head back, and laid that kiss upon me as if you too had been hungry for what we obviously been lacking. Each in their own uniqueness has the spectrum of a rainbow through a prism with a common shade of black somewhere within. 🌹 When you look at me do you see me as a black orchid? Do you notice the shape of my lips and how they stand out like the petals of the flower? Would you recognize an authentic Black Orchid if you've encountered one? Many claim to have them in their Garden. Have you ever really encountered one with your own eye? 🌹 When all your senses are activated, you've inhaled my essence. Though some think I am is just a myth. Careful in how you pluck me for examination. There are unseen threats in the tall grass but my flower is most certainly worth the audacity.

The garish heat of the sun eludes the nape of my neck. Gratitude for the shade of my Locs. So many lives from all corners of everywhere and nowhere. Matching relative thought. All believing they hold an intent of the greater good or is it truly so? X refuses to peer beyond their nose. Y glimpses beyond the thinning veil. Some dwell beyond. A remnant of a remnant have been favored to see where most fear to imagine. Yet...we are here. Understanding that in this moment, standing still truly is weak and is the realization of what oppression hopes for. I am honored for my melinated enterprise to glisten and dance where I stand. Pins and needles under my feet are a comfort. Many already paid it all...and still are. When you say their name, may it not be in vain. May it not be for clicks and hits. Ego stroking been dead as the count that is infinite in my head.

Timeless
Clock on the wall suspended in time. Caught right in between the vibrant and faded. Am I clearly here? Emerging from my self made coccoon. Feel the kiss of the Sun on my cheek again.
I trust, vulnerable to you. Handed over ancient thoughts I treasured. What was asked of you? Honor my dreams. Much of my own life didn't come to fruition. Thought that you've been sent to sharpen my clarity. See it through.
Ain't nobody can stop time. Yet moments are blended and intertwined. Night and Day is all that's left to reflect on marked invisible lines. Still caught in between vibrant and faded.
So many words that can be said to fill the void and make things sound so deep. Deeply plucked from a thesaurus. What's left...is weak. The quiet of the in between speaks louder than any 5 syllable word uttered.

Beautiful Darkness
How is it that I can be enthralled in such beautiful bright Darkness? This experience has given me sight beyond sight and I have gratitude.
