It's a known fact that women have had, and still have, their struggles in the way we are seen, treated, represented as, it's a whole shit-show. That's why I wanted to have a conversation with 20-year-old Leslie V. Mariscal, an advocate for the Latino/as in Northern Nevada, about what it means to be a Latin women in today's society.
Immigration. Wow, that's a heavy word, but a word that is so misunderstood. Who better than to help clear it up? That's right, my terrible older sister, Cindi (only kidding, she's a wonderful lady). In this episode, we discuss about the misconception of what it means to be an immigrant, my sister being a Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals applicant, better known as DACA, and the stance and progress those who migrated here to the United States as a young child bring a stronger meaning to what it means to be a Dreamer.
