Short guided relaxation / meditation sessions to give listeners a few moments of stillness in their day to day life.
December 24th.
It is Christmas eve.
Christmas day is one sleep away!
The last minute shopping trip, gift wrapping. The preparation for the big day is fully underway now.
What if today you could enjoy the details of those final preparations. Without letting your mind run away with you about how many things you have to get done.
Today builds on from day 22 if you wish to practise that mindful task first with your breath.

December 23rd.
Today is sometimes also known as Christmas eve eve.
It can fell like the calm before the storm, the final preparations on Christmas eve for the big day.
The mindful moment today is the gift of self care, this month you may have found yourself getting everything sorted, to make sure you will be ready for Christmas.
How many gifts did you get for yourself?
Today is a gift for you, enjoy this full body relaxation.

December 22nd.
Christmas wish.
Everybody has that one thing we wish we could change, have or be.
What if we wished to be completely present this Christmas.
No distractions, experience the entire day from start to finish, allowing yourself to enjoy it.
Today we are going to focus on how we can be present for the day, noticing when our mind wonders off and how to bring ourself back to the present.

December 21st.
Glitter, glitter, glitter.
Who doesn’t enjoy a little bit of glitter at Christmas time.
However it does get everywhere and sometimes we can let our inner glitter rage out.
Today we are going to focus on over coming the glitter rage to enjoy the moment.

Ok so we are not far away from the big day.
Santa, he is the centre of Christmas. However as we grow up, the truth is let out that our parents filled our stockings and purchased the presents. This was a big day when our dreams became crushed.
We grow up, life takes over, working, paying bills.
What if today, every time you see Santa somewhere you remember what it felt like when younger. The magic of Christmas, the excitement of getting to bed early so Santa could deliver the presents.
Enjoy todays mindful memory.

December 19th.
Today is a more challenging one.
Its about those people you do not quite get on with, either in your family or at work.
What if you were able to put how that person or situation makes you feel aside for today.
Maybe offer this person a Christmas treat as you hand them out at the office, or simply wish them a Merry Christmas.
Allow being in the present moment to ground you and put aside the issues, keep yourself calm and don’t allow differences to upset Christmas for you.
See how you get on with this one today. Challenge yourself to let go of differences.

December 18th.
By now it is time to start getting the presents wrapped (if you have not wrapped them all already!)
When was the last time you were completely present when wrapping. Half the joy is hiding something so someone has to open it to find out what it is.
So allow yourself to enjoy those last few moments seeing the gift as you wrap it, because the next time you see the gift. You wont be looking at the gift but the persons reaction as they open it.
Enjoy mindfully wrapping today.

A colour that you cannot miss at Christmas is red.
Today we will focus on everything that we see today which is the colour red.
What thoughts and feelings the colour creates within us. To take a moment to be aware of those thoughts and feelings.
Then to just let them be.
Enjoy the colour red today.

All the decorations and gifts around.
When was the last time you took a moment to truly observe just one Christmas decoration.
Today we are going to mindfully observe a Christmas decoration.
Enjoy.

Christmas is a time of giving. I’m not talking about the gifts and cards we give.
I’m talking about the details, a smile, a positive comment, a helpful hand to someone in need.
What could you give this year that money cannot buy?
Today we focus on giving, giving from the goodness within us.

December 14th.
This time of year we are always asked ‘what would you like for Christmas?’. What if we decided to change the question to ‘what are you grateful for this Christmas?’.
Today we are going to focus on the things we already have in our life. Not the things we think we need in our life.
Once you take a moment to ground yourself to the things you are grateful for, you may realise you are luckier than you think at this time of year.
Enjoy the focus of gratefulness today.

December 13th.
Not only do we buy presents this time of year. We also send cards.
We write all the time, we do it without thinking. Today we are going to take a few moments to be present while we write cards to people. Being present might change how you write a card to each person.
Bringing back the personal side of card writing for people to receive by hand or in the post.
Enjoy todays mindful writing.

December 12th.
We always have people to buy presents for. However when do you ever take time to really think about the people you are buying for.
Their favourite things, their habits, the things they always say which drive you mad.
We have people in our lives, however sometimes we don’t get time to remember why these people are so important to us.
Today we will take the time to think of the special people in our lives.

December 11th.
By now you would have been unable to escape the Christmas ‘treats’. Chocolates and mince pies will be everywhere.
You might even have someone who works with you who enjoys baking.
Christmas is the best time of year, so much variety to bake, cookies, gingerbread, not to mention the actual Christmas cake Decorating! (as this would have been baked a while ago, with rum or some form of tipple being added regularly to make sure it tastes very festive!)
Today we are going to eat mindfully. Let yourself really enjoy the treats of Christmas.
You have no idea the effort someone might have put into the treat just for your enjoyment. So take the time to be present and appreciate the Christmas treats this year.

December 10th.
Christmas is a very buys time of year. Things to do, people to see.
Today we are going to be mindful of connecting. How often do we say to people ‘we must catch up soon’. Then days turn into weeks, months, maybe even years!
We are going to think about the people we care about. We are going to make time to connect with those people and make plans. To let people know we are thinking about them at this time of year.
Enjoy the opportunity to connect today.

December 9th.
You may or may not have noticed that shopping is getting a lot busier with Christmas just around the corner.
What if you could be mindful while you are amidst the chaos of Christmas shoppers to make the experience almost relaxing.
Today we focus on being mindful while we shop.
Anytime, anywhere you can allow yourself to be present and take the stress out of this chore.
So lets focus on being present while we shop, instead of the task of shopping.
Enjoy day 9.

December 8th.
Christmas lights. EVERYWHERE.
The one time of year you can be excused for having a million fairy lights around your house. There is something calming and cozy about Christmas lights with the lights off, enjoying the gently glow of the lights and the patterns they create.
The focus today is the comforting feeling that comes from having the lights on the tree and enjoying a hot drink while snuggled up with a blanket.
Today is all about having a Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) moment during the Christmas period.
Enjoy.

December 7th.
We are 7 days into the Christmas period. Time to get serious.
You will blink and Christmas day will be tomorrow but this year you will be ready for it!
Todays mindfulness practice is going to look at ‘making a list’.
Not a santa naughty or nice list. One which has all the things you need to have done before the big day.
Every year you most likely make a Christmas list, who to get presents for, when things need to be sent in the post, to make sure they arrive with loved ones before the day and not stuck in the post room.
Todays mindfulness moment is to allow you to focus on making sure nothing gets missed off the important Christmas ‘to do’ list.
Enjoy and thank me later when you are having your most organised Christmas yet!

December 6th.
By now most of the christmas decorations in the shops are up, the lights are outside peoples houses (which make the commute home much more enjoyable – so thank you to the people who take the time to decorate their houses).
With so many decorations and lights, we get to see so many colours at Christmas.
Today we are going to focus on one of the colours very commonly seen at Christmas.
Green.
Green is such a down to earth colour and connects you to nature during christmas, Christmas trees, holly and mistletoe.
Todays mindfulness task is anytime you see something green to allow yourself to become grounded. Connect to your environment and root yourself in that exact moment when you see something green.
Enjoy.

December 5th.
We have spent the past few days getting to know the senses individually.
Today is about combining the senses together to make you completely aware of what is going on at that exact moment in time.
Sometimes we might be aware of some of our senses, but what would happen if you allowed yourself to be fully present with all your senses for a brief moment.
So todays task is about awareness, of what you see, hear, feel and smell.
Enjoy.

December 4th.
By now you will have seen the Christmas decorations and lights everywhere you go.
So far we have been mindful of looking, listening and feeling.
Naturally you may well have been able to guess that today we will focus on smell. Or have you been able to become focused on the present moment you had not even thought about what today might have in store?
So many different smells at this time of year. Roasted chestnuts at a christmas market or an incredible hot chocolate with ginger bread flavour to name a few.
Today is about being in the moment when you happen across a smell.
Enjoy todays mindful moment on smell.

December 3rd.
We are now a few days into December. You may now be thinking of putting your Christmas tree up (or it might have been up before December 1st – if you are an overly enthusiastic Christmas fan like my sister).
So today our mindfulness task is focusing on feel / touch. This is the time of year when so many different textures are around for us to feel. Christmas tree needles, tinsel, tree decorations and stockings just to name a few.
Not to mention the amount of glitter that is around! Everything sparkles at Christmas time!
So enjoy a few moments to focus on todays mindfulness task.

December 2nd.
By now you should be fully aware Christmas is coming – if you have not already heard a christmas song (or more than one, let me know your secret).
Christmas has a lot of sounds and songs attached to it. So today we are going to take a moment to be mindful and listen to the sounds around us, be it a christmas song playing in the background, people talking or various other sounds you might observe in your surroundings.
Today is about listening, not judging or reacting, just be still and aware of what you hear.
Enjoy.

December 1st
Christmas is coming.
Over the next 24 days, what if you could still take the time to connect yourself to the present moment.
Maybe even reconnect to those special moments about Christmas which may become lost with the chaos of Christmas parties, shopping and secret santa stress.
This is the Mindfulness @ Christmas series, where daily you can take a few moments to give yourself space and stillness over this busy festive period.
Who knows, these daily short mindful meditations might even shift your perspective on the holiday season.
So give yourself a moment to be kind to yourself this holiday season.
Enjoy meditation 1, we focus on the things you will look at today.
