They revisit it for its lasting themes, both good and bad, for what it says about the franchise, for its major flaws as much as its lasting impact. For all its significant deficits, we ponder Star Trek as a whole and still find nuggest of truth to be found.
Kate and Tyler go Chrisless this week (he was running in the Star Wars Half Marathon, so we forgive him!) and dig deep into the major themes of fate, sacrifice, and the Starfleet way presented to us in "Through the Valley of Shadows."
