If you've been a Christian music fan for awhile, you might recognize today's podcast title as the title of Mylon LeFevre's first album. Dave told us during the show today that the man behind many of the songs you know and love passed away over the weekend. As we "borrow" from his album title, Carmen also "borrowed" pieces of our tower in Georgia during the show yesterday to offer up to those that gave in recognition of the 1600-ft. tower that fell because of a tornado. We recapped the...
There was a towering amount of inspiration on today's show! Paige Brown is a Bible teacher from Nashville that will inspire you to take a deeper dive into the Word as she leads a discussion on Jonah for the Fall of 2023. Dave was almost inspired to watch the video from Week 1, which you can do until tonight at midnight! Demario Davis, a linebacker for the New Orleans Saints, shared an inspiring message from the postgame press conference where he pointed to Revelations 3:20. Hearing that,...
A hurricane can certainly serve as a reminder of the need for a firm foundation. And there are other things in life that can provide that reminder as well. Carmen shared some thoughts as well as Cody Carnes version of the song, Firm Foundation. Bill followed that up with some thoughts of his own on a firm foundation for your life. In her head she knows, but in her heart, Carmen believes that September 1 is the unofficial start to her favorite season - Fall. And she has been getting messages...
As Hurricane Idalia continued on a path towards the Big Bend area and making landfall this morning, all eyes were on the impact of the storm. 00:32 Reassurance In The Storm 01:52 Idalia's Big Picture 07:08 Thinking About Tallahassee 13:09 The List On The Door 15:57 Carmen's $1 gas (x3) 21:09 text responses 23:49 Idalia's...
As Hurricane Idalia approaches the Gulf Coast, we are preparing by giving you the latest updates and talking about snacks and dealing with fear. We're also getting ready for Sharathon and Bill put a wager with Carmen, so she took the challenge to the airwaves to see if it could be done. We also discussed how smart assistants are not so reliable for medical emergencies so you should be prepared to find alternate sources of help. As we think about ways to pass the time while waiting...
Last week, Dave, BIll and Carmen did some work last week ahead of Sharathon sharing stories about the history of The JOY FM. That got them thinking about when The Morning Cruise was established as well. As Tropical Storm Idalia threatens much of our listeners along the west coast of Florida, we are wondering what is to come with the wind and rain while also thinking back to the damage done by storms in the past. One way to pass the time as we await updates on the path of the...
We welcomed Jeremy Rosado to The Morning Cruise for the first time, but he is not a stranger to The JOY FM! He was on Cell Phone Superstar with Jayar back in the day before competing on American Idol and eventually, The Voice. He shared his new song with us and told the very personal story behind it. Before he joined us, Carmen told us about a very unwelcome visitor she had at home last night. Bill shared a word on winsome words and the trouble with winsomeness. Carmen...
Internet acronyms come and go so it was only a matter of time until one of the most popular shorthand phrases got replaced. Dave told us about the change. Bill followed that up with an acronym that is synonymous with The JOY FM. Carmen just finished reading Aaron Burke's book, The Unfair Advantage, and was struck by a quote from one of Bill's favorite authors. Bill shared that his oldest son, Will, turns 30 tomorrow. He had hoped to call him on his birthday, but Will will be...
After re-sharing our conversation with Pastor Aaron Burke on his book, The Unfair Advantage, the show was focused on taste and discernment. Dave found out about a job as a taste tester for Buc-ee's. Bill told us about a one-of-a-kind giraffe that was born without the spots they are known for. There is a naming contest and Bill's suggestion for a name isn't quite what the zoo staff was discerning. Speaking of discerning, Carmen and her Bible study group have started with...
Pastor Aaron Burke of Radiant Church in Tampa stopped by this morning to share from his new book, The Unfair Advantage. Taking a look at the life of Joseph and transforming an obstacle into an opportunity. Before he joined us, Bill continued the conversation from yesterday on online shopping woes. Dave also shared how his wife had issues recently with sizing. For those adventure seekers looking for a legendary search, you've got an opportunity to help in the search for the Loch...
After re-sharing part of our conversation with Phil Wickham that originally aired on Friday, we went looking for answers to a number of things. Californians are trying to figure out how to deal with Tropical Storm Hilary and an earthquake at the same time. Dave shared some stories from a fellow church member of the recovery efforts in Lahaina, Hawaii. Carmen shared 5 Prayers To Pray When Your Soul Is Exhausted. Bill wanted to follow that up with some bible trivia, but...
The last 2 hours of today's show were our opportunity to share an interview we had last week with Phil Wickham as his new album, I Believe, is available starting today! But before we got to that, we were happy to have Dave and his voice back in the studio this morning. Carmen also shared a recommendation for The Bible Recap New Testament Study and Pastor Aaron Burke's new book, The Unfair Advantage. Dave told us about a mom of a 4-year-old and infant triplets and her efforts to get out...
Lots of love on the show today, not only for people but obscure words, flying and faith. 00:32 How Couples Meet 03:40 Where Bill's Kids met 06:43 Obscure Words 09:40 Flights and Kudos 14:54 Anxiety and Hezekiah 20:16 The Bible Recap 24:22 Tim Keller's Memorial Service 29:00 Lettuce Bouquets 31:36...
Dave was out sick today and that may have played a part in the direction of the show today as Bill and Carmen were largely focused on health and well-being. 00:32 Dave Under the Weather today 02:47 Budgeting for Christmas 06:13 6 Ways Sleep Can Help Weight Loss 10:50 John Newton Book 15:31 3-2-1 sleep method 20:36 What Makes Baby Sam happy? 22:13...
After a long day with Lauren Daigle yesterday, we spent the morning recapping the event and Bill asked a question that he didn't get to with her about being an adventurer so he asked Dave and Carmen. In response to that, Dave shared a story about how Gen Z feels guilty about work while on vacation. During the event yesterday, Lauren shared her new song, These Are The Days, and Dave explained how she changed the perspective of an idea to write the song. While many were...
Dave, Bill and Carmen are on location today as they prepare for a special album release party with Lauren Daigle in Atlanta. We started this morning discussing the recovery efforts in Lahaina, Hawaii and how you can help. Since we are in Atlanta we called Jules in from the newsroom to have her tell us about her daughter's issues with tithing. And Carmen needed Bill to do some research on some things she was thinking about taking to help with her sinus issues. Bill also shared how and his family...
Good Gravy, it's Friday! And Dave isn't all that thrilled for a new thrill ride at Holiday World in Indiana...a gravy-themed roller coaster! If you're looking for an option in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Carmen has a glamping option for you. The Cultish Show shared some recent comments from Joe Rogan on Bible Translations that got many fired up including Mark Hall. Spending time with Phil Wickham, Brandon Lake and KB yesterday and at their show last night was a special experience...
Today is the first day of school for many in our listening areas. And while some have been back already and others still have a few days until they return, Carmen suggested that we all take a second and pray for our schools. For Bill and others looking to accomplish a few things, Carmen suggests the 5-second rule. For Dave, the 5-second rule is not so hard with his new grill. Jules needed more than a second. She needed a meal at Waffle House to go through all of her emotions...
After a visit last week from our British friend, Tim, who was on a 6-week holiday, Dave shared some humorous thoughts on the differences in an out of office message for a European vs an American. That got Carmen talking about work ethic and how it has changed. Over 60 years, not much has changed with SweetTarts candies, but Bill was excited to celebrate the candy. As summer winds down, Dave wondered if Carmen and Bill might try a new travel trend of a mystery travel destination...
On the show today, we looked at the fringe benefits of rituals for NFL players and gave you a chance to win tickets to see Lauren Daigle and her fringe at a super exclusive event. We also looked at the benefits of the new Lunchables offerings and the margin time for moms. Carmen and BIll gave us the benefit of scripture in our lives. Dave told us how he had hoped to benefit better than he did at a pizza place in St. Augustine. But Carmen had another option for you if you are headed in...
Today's show was filled with girl power as talked about Dolly Parton, Natalie Grant and Lauren Daigle. During Carmen's trip to Dollywood for the first time, she got a taste of that famous cinnamon bread and we tracked down the recipe for you. Natalie Grant recently joined with Dolly Parton on a duet of a Whitney Houston song and we got that for you to hear for the first time. And we've got your chance to win tickets to an exclusive event with Lauren Daigle in Atlanta next Monday. In addition...
Dave, Bill and Carmen are all back from vacation. They shared a bit about their time off and Carmen tried to hold a contest but with Hitch out on vacation it didn't go according to plan. 00:32 We're Back??? 02:17 Dave's Theme Park with Kids 07:11 Books for Dave and Carmen 10:37 Mugs for Bill and Dave 14:05 Carmen's game 16:38 Winner #1 Audrey 19:12...
It's the last day before vacation for Dave, Bill and Carmen! They'll be out for a little "R & R" for the next couple of weeks. Our summer read was supposed to be Jonathan Pokluda's book, Why Do I Do What I Don't Want To Do?. We didn't quite meet that goal but Carmen and Bill plan to read through the rest of the book while they are out. In the meantime, Bill recently took a look at what he had to say about pride in the book. Carmen is headed to Tennessee for part of her vacation and plans...
It's National French Fry Day today and after we gave away more tickets to see Sound of Freedom, Dave got us started with a conversation about tater tots vs fries. When it comes to condiments for your french fries do you dip or pour? Carmen told us about her favorite portable charger on what she thought was still an Amazon Prime Day. Dave, did take advantage of a Prime Day deal for his son on an A/C unit. If you are like Carmen and have a fear of flying, Bill has some tips and...
We are getting ready for vacation and we may have gone off the rails once or twice on today's episode of The Morning Cruise. Carmen is having trouble sleeping and tried a military technique that Bill mentioned several years ago, but it isn't working. And she's known for getting the concrete mixed up with the abstract. Carmen also can't comprehend why a review of Sound of Freedom took a negative viewpoint. But we had tickets to giveaway and we gave away a lot! Bill spent...
If you can make a quick getaway you might want to head to the northern U.S. as there's a chance you'll see the Northern lights. Carmen has decided on a trip to Dollywood as part of her vacation plans. Erin Andrews and her husband have been planning for children for a long time as they dealt with IVF treatments and surrogates but they were happy to share the birth of their first child. The New York Times plans on utilizing a new strategy for sports coverage now that they...
On this Monday, we are not only ready for Amazon Prime Day but we've got lots for you to see and taste on today's episode of The Morning Cruise Replay. 00:32 Prime Day Tomorrow and Wednesday 03:48 Consumer Spending 07:35 Truck Driving Office Watcher 11:34 Toddler "Driving" Cattle 13:12 Sound of Freedom and Jesus Revolution 16:53 Katy Nichole "Hold On" 18:24...
We're still trying to figure out Threads, the new social media platform. We're all aging. But, are we aging gracefully? Bill has some thoughts on helping us move in that direction. And Carmen shared a thought to help that perspective as well. Jules joined us once again to tell us how her daughters plan to make money over the summer. But the babysitting gig didn't go according to plan recently. That had us thinking about our first jobs and how different they are than the career...
What is the common thread between a root canal and the Red Sea? Carmen fills us in on her tooth issue. And she's not alone as we heard from one listener who had a tooth issue but can't do anything about it for awhile. The importance of community with like minded people is more prevalent today with studies on loneliness showing an increase. Music is a common thread for us being a Christian radio station and one song that has been on repeat for us is Blessed Assurance by Cain with...
No, we didn't do a live broadcast from the store at the local mall. It's the weather and a few popular things that led to today's title of The Morning Cruise Replay. Dave got us started by telling us about a paramedic who not only saved the life of one man, but saved his daughter's life by donating a kidney. Carmen's new favorite game is Connections, a word game from The New York Times and she wondered if Dave and Bill continued to play. It was a lowkey Fourth for Carmen...
On the eve of this 4th of July, it's appropriate to use the Boy Scout motto as the title of today's episode of The Morning Cruise Replay as we spent the morning getting you ready to celebrate Independence Day. On the way in this morning, Dave was surprised to see a little more traffic than he anticipated at that hour of the morning. Bill isn't quite sure if his calendar on his phone is working properly with fireworks going off for several days. Carmen's got a new word...
Bill wants to change what he pairs his sauerkraut with and needed your ideas. Carmen shared the latest internet debate of where you should store your ketchup. Dave gave us a lot more info than we ever needed to know on the popular condiment. Bed Bath & Beyond is closing their retail store locations but the brand will live on online and overstock.com will be changing their name with this move. Carmen is trying to figure out where she should take her vacation and asked...
Walking down the well worn path of the Appalachian Trail could earn you some college credits! Bill's so excited he's looking for hiking boots. While her kids were at camp, they surely hit the trails. For Jules, having her kids at camp had her worried for a few reasons. And going through customs when you're kids are worn out may not be a good idea as we learned what happened with Jules and her family on a recent trip. Well worn clothes abound at thrift shops. Apparently, so do...
Bill points to 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 with a devotional thought on assurance and security for Thursday, June 29th.
Dave's affinity for all things LSU is costing him big time! Rocking chairs make you think of sitting back and relaxing. Turns out making the choice to sit in one comes with health benefits too! Ryan Seacrest is in as the new host of Wheel Of Fortune. He announced that new career move yesterday. If you like Pepsi, hot dogs and baseball, Dave has a new condiment option for you. But he certainly won't be choosing it! The views of marriage and your adult kids have changed...
Are you sure that cheese and apple pie go together? Carmen learned that that combination is a thing, but we aren't sure if it actually tastes good together. What Carmen is sure about is a message from Tim Ross on Instagram using Apple Pie a la mode to talk about sin. Since we tend to get up earlier than most people, naps are a sure thing for us. And naps have their benefits as well as the quality of your sleep habits. There's no doubt about the winner of the College...
Bill said it best with his BIG Word of the Day, "today's show was a whirlwind of information, inspiration, and fun!" He got us started by telling us about his weekend and he even managed to squeeze in some alliteration. We reshared a couple of highlights from our conversation with Adam and Jordan of Apollo LTD. Bill had some fun with his granddaughter in the kiddie pool this weekend and that had his neighbors curious as to what he was up to. Dave will be glued...
We went in many different directions on the show today. We were heartbroken to hear the news of the submersible lost at sea. Everywhere you look, VBS is happening at a church near you this summer. While travelling with our network president, Carmen had some issues with the GPS and that led to some more stories with GPS issues. Dave probably wishes he could go west to Omaha, Nebraska now that his LSU Tigers have secured their spot in the championship series against the...
Carmen is back today after a whirlwind road trip visiting with some of our sister stations. Bill got the show on the road for us today with a way to spark creativity. If you need a creative way to remember names, Dave has a helpful tool for you. While Carmen was out, she, like many, has been keeping an eye on the situation with the lost submersible. Carmen got to experience a Buc-ee's for the first time on this road trip and she shared her thoughts...
Unfortunately, Carmen was out again today on station business. Fortunately, her daughter, Haley, joined Dave and Bill again today to fill in for her. Food shows are popular on Netflix. In fact, they are so popular that Netflix is getting into the restaurant business where they plan to serve some dishes from some of the most popular shows. Unfortunately, you'll have to take a trip to LA to have the experience. For singles in church, they can often feel like they are unfortunate...
One of Dave's most treasured meals is red beans and rice. He was looking forward to that meal as his wife had it in their instapot ready to go. But with the news of Instapot's bankruptcy claims, we also learned that you may have some treasured kitchenware in your house from the same company. Many have treasured memories of the benefits of VBS. If you are looking for VBS opportunities in your area, check out our Family Calendar. The 3 contestants on Jeopardy did not get the prize...
Today on The Morning Cruise, we had several conversations about parenting, pickleball and poking the bear. We started by asking Jules to share a couple of parenting stories with her 3 girls. She told us how she helped calm her fears about her girls at camp and how she had to help one of her daughters who got sick right before their family vacation. Carmen told us her new favorite hack for a frosted lemonade protein shake. Bill told us his favorite way of complicating an Arnold Palmer...
We had lots of diversions on The Morning Cruise today. Dave told us a story that he knew Carmen would not want to hear and it turns out a few people were possibly distracted when they declared a woman to be dead. But things took a turn when she woke up and knocked on the casket! While most 14-year-olds are enjoying the diversions of summer, there is one teen who has been so focused on his education that he has graduated from college and will be starting at SpaceX soon! Wordle...
It was all fun and games on The Morning Cruise today! But first, Bill helped us all point to Christ at work. After that, Carmen realized she used the wrong word the other day and learned the difference between winsome and whimsical. But when it comes to Wordle, Carmen is finding the right words the fastest. But we still have one more round to play tomorrow! Bill brought some dad jokes to the show to help us get ready for Father's Day. Technology has certainly given us...
Dave's wife, Emilie, and many others are in the midst of VBS this week. Dave recognized just how much smaller the world is now compared to when he was in VBS as a kid. Bill told us some good news as the price of eggs is coming down and then he shared some interesting facts about Father's Day. Carmen shared what she learned about Mount Mariah and Calvary from The Bible Recap with Tara Leigh Cobble. Did you know that our Summer Book Club read is Jonathan Pokluda's book,...
Pat Sajak announced that he is stepping away from the bright lights of Hollywood and will retire as the host of Wheel of Fortune. One lucky winner is headed to Busch Gardens in the coming days and will have a BIg Summer Fun Time thanks to back to back song from for King & Country. Dave has spent a few days at Dollywood. Carmen has not been yet. Bill was impressed to hear how involved Dolly Parton is with the theme park bearing her name. The bright...
Even though Bill doesn't like "powdered flavor" on his potato chips, our coworker Ed, made it his objective to test that statement with some new flavor offerings from Lay's. Last Thursday, we started playing Wordle Golf. We weren't sure if Bill would remember to play, but he did. So we continued our "9 holes" of Wordle Golf and will declare a winner on Friday! Bill knows it isn't technically summer yet, but he had an indicator this morning of the summer heat as he stepped outside. It...
Carmen was reading the New Living Translation of Psalm 119 and it certainly cleared things up for her. As did Dave and Bill when she asked about the "Pearls Before Swine" phrase. Last week at our industry conference, Cain took us to church with their rendition of Blessed Assurance. Bill is excited to attend a high church service tomorrow for his friend's consecration as a bishop in the Episcopal church. Pizza Hut in New York City is offering up a unique flavor combination...
The Canadian wildfires have been the cause of smoke covering much of the northeast U.S. Bill smelled some smoke this morning on his way in and thinks it might be from these same wildfires. Dave's wife, Emilie, built a castle for VBS at their church, and after seeing the photos of the completed project, Carmen was singing the praises of Emilie and her handiwork. Starting next week, when you hear 2 songs back to back from the same artist, you'll have a chance to win tickets to...
Today was a day all about challenges and celebrations on The Morning Cruise! Bill is struggling to get to work on time this week even with 4 alarms set! One man in Finland has a hefty challenge ahead of him after getting his third speeding ticket and a fine over $120K! Carmen shared from 1 Kings 2 and the deathbed commentary from David looking for his son to avenge his death and that led to a conversation about the challenging parts of scripture. Carmen has shared several...
We are back in today after the Memorial Day Holiday weekend and getting right back into form for you to get through this shortened work week. But if you are in need of a family game night idea, Carmen recommends Cards Christians Like. Dave was hoping to have his house back in order soon but with his wife building the castle for VBS at church and leading the crafts, he's not sure when things will return to normal. Bill celebrated the Memorial Day holiday with his kids...
If you missed yesterday's show and the big reveal of our news at the "Family Meeting", we gave you a quick recap to start the show. Louie Giglio gave us a quick Advent devotion on where your allegiance should be. Jules took a break from the newsroom to share a few stories revealing her true colors to us, when it comes to her pronunciation of words and the lesson she learned after the first day of an Advent devotion she is doing. And she's making every effort to keep her kids...

As families and friends gathered together over the Thanksgiving weekend, Dave, Bill and Carmen did as well. They shared from their own family gatherings and discussed a few other gatherings as well. 00:32 Flight Delays 02:52 Carmen under the weather 04:57 Jamal and Wanda - 7 years later 07:54 Family Meeting 09:57 Dave's Grill Debacle 15:05...
On the day before Thanksgiving, our show was stuffed with all sorts of great converations. You might say, "that's a mouthful!" Bill talked about ways to burn all those Thanksgiving calories. Carmen's got a new favorite leggings recommendation to help you with exercise wear that could be worn for that expanding waistline you'll see tomorrow. Traveling with food can be tricky. Unknowingly traveling with the family feline can be even trickier. Dave told us how TSA made...
We're "over the moon" for several different reasons this morning, although you might not think that when you hear about Carmen's coat dilemma. While Carmen contemplates what to do, Bill is ecstatic that he found his jacket that he thought he left on a plane. Bill is also excited about his latest literary purchase, A Praying Life by Paul E. Miller. Carmen's got another devotional that she couldn't wait to share from Corrie Ten Boom. And Carmen is very happy thanks to...
The Yeungling Center in Tampa had quite the crowd last night as Tauren Wells performed as the headliner for his first time ever in an arena setting. And he put on a show unlike any other. We talked about his singing, dancing and preaching that he shared with the crowd last night. Carmen is crowdsourcing her Thanksgiving sides and looking for some local help. Dave met up with some friends from church for a get-together and they played some games. Which Dave, to our surprise, actually...
With the holidays coming up, sugar will be plentiful, including a new dessert offering from Spam. Carmen is trying hard to get through the month of November by going sugar-free. Jayar, on the other hand, got a little more than a spoonful of sugar, recently. There's no need to sugarcoat it...Sunday night in Tampa with Tauren Wells is gonna be a bop! Bill served up a great conversation on disclipling and humility. As the mom of 3 girls, there is a lot of sugar...
The last half of the show was devoted to our chat with Steven Curtis Chapman as we listened to the songs from his new album, Still. Check out the full interview HERE Before that, Bill told us about the dilemma he is having with his family joining him in the upcoming Turkey Trot. Carmen's tree dilemma continues with a new issue. Season 3...
We're just a few days away from your chance to see Tauren Wells in person as he performs songs like Up and many others in Tampa and Jacksonville. Dave spent the early morning hours looking up in the sky as Artemis finally launched. Bill looked up a study on singles and we offered some encouragement to those that are living the single life. Dave shared a study that looked at how long it takes many Americans to feel like they can relax on vacation. And he had a few responses...
As we continue to prepare for Thanksgiving next week, we've got a few helpful ways for you to get set. Starting with the table setting! But first, we talked about Jake Matthews of the Atlanta Falcons and his day last Thursday as he had to race home for the birth of his son and then race to North Carolina to play in a game against the Carolina Panthers that night. Holiday preparations can sometimes involve travel plans. Bill shared his own experience of finding affordable travel...
WIth your help we were able to put more than 30,000 turkeys in the hands of those who need them this Thanksgiving with T-Shirts For Turkeys! In addition to giving that total, we offered a helping hand for those beginning their holiday prep, especially in the kitchen. And Carmen and Bill offered up a helping hand with some thoughts on fighting our idols and adoption. 00:32 Pans, Not Pants 02:34 Carmen's table 05:01...
You all have made such a difference in our communities this year with T-Shirts For Turkeys! And this year, we had to change up the schedule just a bit with Hurricane Nicole making landfall yesterday. Today also happens to be Veterans Day and we took the time to acknowledge the difference that our military veterans have made for each of us. Carmen got a different Christmas tree this year and after finally testing it out yesterday, she needs a new different tree. Dave...
As much of our listening audience is keeping an eye out for the weather as Hurricane Nicole made landfall in the early morning hours along the East coast (was downgraded to Tropical Storm shortly after landfall), many in our Georgia audience were looking for our Turkey Stops this morning. As we tried to keep you updated on both the storm and T-Shirts For Turkeys, we also told you to keep your eyes out for Target's return policy on their Cat & Jack brand for baby clothes, Dave told us when...
It's Day 3 of T-Shirts For Turkeys 2022! As we rally together and help those in need for the holidays, we spent the morning checking in with some of our stops and talking about how Russians are finding community here in the States and uniting in Christ. Voting is a privilege for American citizens as we rally around the polls and make decisions that impact our political leaders. Many of our listeners along the east coast of Florida are rallying with last minute preparations for...
Today is not only day 2 of T-Shirts For Turkeys, it is also Election Day. In between checking in with some of our Turkey stops, we encouraged you to get out and vote, checking your ballot before turning it in. Bill told us the 6 Truths For Every Christian to check themselves on. Carmen shared a reminder to check the return policy as she recently learned the hard way. And we're checking the forecasts as Tropical Storm Nicole inches closer to Florida. 00:32 Get...

As we prepare for Thanksgiving and the opportunity to gather together with friends and family, our wallets may feel the pinch. But, for some like Dave, it's an opportunity to upgrade the grill and smoker. We shared a conversation on the importance of community and it got quite the response. Carmen got together with her daughter, Abbey, and they went to vote yesterday. Dave's neighbors came over recently with some extra food and Dave had to get the recipe for the Marry...
After re-sharing our conversation with Carley Boyette, Carmen suggested to Dave and Bill that they switch things up at home tonight and make dinner for Men Make Dinner Day. Dave's youngest son and his family switched things up and went ahead with putting up the Christmas tree at home. Bill's oldest son, Will, took a big step and made his first car purchase yesterday. And if you are having difficulties, try switching things up and seeking your community. The Astros switched...
In the last hour of today's show, we sat down with our newest contributor, Carley Boyette. A couple of weeks ago, we shared the videos from Carley's time on the set of The Chosen as she interviewed Jonathan Roumie, Jordan Walker Ross, and Dallas Jenkins. Before we sat down with Carley, we covered a wide variety of topics from T-Shirts For Turkeys, to Red Velvet Cold Brew, an evening walk with a unique accessory, controversies in cornhole, the brutality of church softball, the value of...
Our conversation with Jules about the Tooth Fairy's recent visit kicked off a whole day's show talking about value and worth. Bill shared how the prices of cars is starting to go down a bit and then schooled us on how The Reformation had an impact on economics. One of our biggest promotions every year is T-Shirts For Turkeys. That kicks off next week and we hope to collect a boatload's worth of turkeys for local ministries. For some it's too early to celebrate Christmas....

In this age of algorithms, it is important to seek wisdom. Bill shared an article on that subject and that led to Carmen sharing some thoughts from her pastor's sermon on Sunday discussing sin. One politician was getting ready to run unopposed for his office until his estranged brother put his name in the hat to run against him. That certainly was cause for disruption in the small Canadian town. Turning back to the conversation on algorithms, Carmen shared the second episode...
We started off talking about vintage jeans and recycled clothing which reminded several of you about the consignment company, ThredUp. Dave told us what's up with Krispy Kreme donuts being avaiable at McDonald's. Bill shared another Carmenism with us that happened last week. And Ellie chimed in to tell us her favorite Carmenism. 2 stories that terrified Carmen: Being stuck on an elevator under the Grand Canyon and a snake flying high on a flight from Tampa. And...
Carmen's got a problem with buying jackets while living in Florida. Dave on the other hand is all about the hoodies. But what about sweater vests? Brandon Heath chimed in on that conversation. If you've been covering your hair in dry shampoo, listen up...there's a recall on several products from Unilever for possibly containing a carcinogen. T-Shirts For Turkeys is coming soon, and we'll be covering all 3 states with locations for you to participate. Looking for a good...
Smell that? It's coming from the fire pits or Dave's armpit. We're not quite sure which one! Seriously though, we had quite the discussions about fire pits and Dave's new deodorant, in addition to a story that almost had Dave, Bill, and Carmen in the AirBnB pits while in Nashville. Bill and Dave's grandkids are discovering sounds from the bottom of their lungs. If you've been in the pits lately, Carmen has a word of encouragement from Proverbs 4:23. And there might have been...
It's fall y'all! And that means the weather is changing, the leaves are changing, and patterns are changing. Dave, Bill and Carmen are back after a whirlwind trip to Nashville. They got a lot of great content that will be coming your way soon. Hopefully with the cooler weather the mosquitoes will go away soon, but until they do, Dave has some news on what scents they are attracted to. Bill is looking forward to a weekend of coller weather and hoping to get outside as...
It's fall and Carmen just got her nails done ( but it took some time to track down her nail guy). She shared her favorite nail colors for the Fall season. If you choose to drink your coffee with some chickory in it, there are some good benefits that Dave told us about. Wondering what to choose for your holiday baking needs but don't have much time during that time of year? Carmen's got a couple of recommendations for a holiday pie crust and an option for cinnamon rolls. A lot...
Today's show was for those in a season of singleness, or those looking for a little Christmas spirit, or a little inspiration from a staffer, or those looking to spice up their work in the kitchen. We had it all for you on today's episode of The Morning Cruise. 00:32 @godlydating101 04:39 Article on Wired.com 08:27 Paige Brown singleness 12:26 Going to see Paige 15:12...
You might think we were a bit hungry on today's episode of The Morning Cruise. Bill got us started with a chat about a new app that helps you get the ingredients for the recipes that catch your eye. A pasta maker recently caught the eye of Bill's wife, but have they used it yet? Somebody in California dreamed up the idea of baking Han Solo into bread for a contest. But does it fit the scarecrow theme? Carmen wasn't the only one confused by this story. Are you a night...
Dave is just getting over something that he picked up last weekend while visiting his family in Texas. His symptoms pointed to a variety of diagnosis, but now that several in his family have tested positive for the flu, he's pretty sure that's what he had. Bill gave us quite the selection of choices to help celebrate National Bosses Day. But will Carmen go for any of them? Carmen had quite the Goldilocks-type of adventure this weekend while out of town with her husband for a...

Dave was out today, feeling a little under the weather. Jayar came in early to help out Bill and Carmen. He discussed his recent hair loss, some possible remedies and aging as well. He also discussed aging and had a bit of self-care session on God "going radio silent". Bill gave us some tips to care for pumpkins this fall. While Jayar was concerned with his hair roots, Carmen shared some thoughts from Wade Joye on the root of envy. 00:32 Jayar in for...
In the midst of an incredible day yesterday with Hope After The Hurricane, Carmen's mind wandered a bit from cavalry to Calvary and eventually to Calgary! The money we raised yesterday is going to go a very long way in the efforts led by our partners at Convoy Of Hope. While travelling with his wife this weekend, Mac Powell was having issues with getting his video to us. So we shared that this morning with you. Paige Brown is out and about travelling this week on a Fall...
We'll be connecting with Convoy of Hope on Monday for our Hope After The Hurricane Special Broadcast. As we prepare for that, we got a couple of stories from our videographer who went with Bill and Haley on how he connected with a guy and heard some powerful testimonies. We use e-mail to connect a lot. But where should we put the boundaries? Carmen shared a couple of devotional stories from The Hiding Place that she connected with and many others did as well. For some,...
Carmen is still playing Wordle and the other day she used her ability to solve for a word she wasn't familiar with, until the guys showed her that she did know the word! And she wasn't alone as we heard from a few folks that they were also not familiar with the word. Bill shared from Ephesians 2 sharing God's ability to deliver us "even when we were dead in our trespasses". If you have the ability to drive a school bus, Sarasota County could use your talents as some schools...
Bill missed a portion of yesterday's show as he was on assignment to survey the scene in the areas damaged by Hurricane Ian. All in preparation for our Hope After The Hurricane event on Monday. Carmen took a quick trip to the hospital to visit with Alexa and her family as baby Abe recovered from surgery. But on the way there, she stopped at Chick-fil-A to pick up lunch and had an encounter with another customer causing a scene over kale. Carmen also realized that once again,...
Today was all about making preparations for a variety of reasons. We are in preparations with Convoy of Hope for our Hope After The Hurricane event next Monday. Bill shared a prayer prepared by Scotty Smith. Alexa and her family were in the final preparation stages for her son Abe to have surgery this morning. Just before he was taken back for the procedure we spoke with Alexa and prayed with her. In all the hurricane preparations that our engineers made, their...
As we continue to see the recovery efforts and plan our own way of contributing to the efforts, we spent today in appreciation and looking at value in all sorts of ways. 00:32 The Monday After 03:46 Emilie back from Maine 08:00 New England Giant Pumpkin 11:27 People we appreciate 13:58 Engineers Hard At Work 24:35 Magic Spoon Cereal 29:50...
As we begin to think about the recovery effort from Hurricane Ian, we looked back at some of the stories coming out about the experience of survivors. We shared information for those that might need disaster assistance from FEMA. And Dave took a break from the storm coverage to share that one of his grandsons took his first steps the other day. 00:32 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 03:26 FEMA info 08:05 Storm Stories 15:13...
With Hurricane Ian making landfall yesterday in parts of our listening area and continuing to make its way across the state, downgraded to a Tropical Storm, Bill and Carmen started the show as Dave was at home dealing with the loss of power to his house. He eventually made his way into the studio for some much needed coffee and to share with us this morning. We spent the day sharing some of the initial reports coming from the hardest hit areas as well as our own experiences while riding out the...
As Hurricane Ian nears the Florida coastline, it appears that much of our listening area is in the target. With that news, a lot of fears tend to surface as well. We spent the morning finding encouragement in scripture and from you to help those fears subside. And to get our minds off things just a bit, Dave told us how DART hit their asteroid target last night. Sally called to share a word that was on her 3rd graders spelling list last week and Bill told us how James Earl Jones is partnering...
If you were waiting until today to get the results of our Sharathon, we did it! We made the goal around 8:30 pm on Friday and we are so grateful for your help in getting us across the finish line. Fans at the Berlin Marathon didn't have to wait long to see Eliud Kipchoge cross the finish line as he broke his own world record this weekend! There were quite a few stories to tell from Sharathon, including a first, an engagement for Jon and Joy! We're all on the edge of...
It's Friday! The last Friday before Sharathon starts next Tuesday and Sesame Street would (almost) be proud of today's show as our letter of the day seemed to be "F". We talked fashion, friends, fast and fresh pizza, and finance. Then Bill went and picked a BIG Word that starts with the letter "D"! 00:32 Sharathon 03:23 No Eyebrow Trend 07:16 Text Responses 09:21 Carmen's dinner with a friend 14:49...
We re-shared part of our conversation yesterday with Tauren Wells (find the entire conversation HERE), who is gifted with the ability to sing and dance. He tried to teach Bill some dance moves after the show and there is a video coming of Bill's attempt at pulling off Tauren's choreography. Sharathon is our way of asking for your financial gifts to support the radio station....
Tauren Wells joined The Morning Cruise today to share music from his new album, JOY In The Morning and get us ready for the kickoff of his JOY In The Morning Tour in Tampa at Yeungling Center on October 6th. Before he joined us we talked Sharathon and when to give. Bill told us how to handle our luggage in the overhead bins and Carmen told us about packing cubes. 00:32 Sharathon next week 05:10 Susie - When should we give for Sharathon? 08:42...
There are plenty of benefits from listening to The Morning Cruise and The JOY FM. After re-sharing part of our conversation with Chris Tomlin from last week, we shared the story of one listener who was headed to her first day on a new job. And that led to how others have benefitted from being a part of Sharathon. Carmen shared a couple of health-related stories relaying the benefits of short walks and short planks. Bill was on the hunt for "healthy" candy corn. Thanks to a few...
Today was a day for memories. We looked back at 9/11. Carmen shared some memories of her friend Neena. Dave's TimeHop had a lot of memories to share from the past 3 years as his granddaughter, Andi Kate, turned 3 this weekend. Bill turned in a memorable performance for his role in our Top Funds video, but his family just rolls their eyes when he brings it up. Someone on the Washington Commanders forgot their geography and it turned out to be pretty costly for the team. Your...
WIth the news of Queen Elizabeth II passing away yesterday, we spent some time discussing her reign over the United Kingdom. As we looked ahead to the weekend, we realized that it is not only the start of the NFL this weekend, but the 21st anniversary of 9/11, so we shared our specially produced timeline this morning as well. 00:32 Tauren in concert 02:47 A Call to Allison 07:54 Sharathon 10:00...

While Labor Day is supposed to be a day for rest, there was a lot of action to unpack on today's show! Bill's daughter and son-in-law are currently unpacking all their belongings from moving closer to the area to be near Bill and Kimberly. Both of Carmen's daughters are doing the same thing as they moved over the holiday weekend as well. With week 1 of college football in the record books there was a lot of action on the gridiron that we had to discuss. In particular, we talked...
On a Friday before the Labor Day weekend with plans for rest, today's show was like a care package packed with lots of laughs and conversations on a gift idea for Dolly Parton fans, chats about parenting, Biblical self-care, mixed nuts, stress relief ideas, deodorant and potato salad. It'll all make sense on today's episdoe of The Morning Cruise Replay. 00:32 Jules - Dolly Parton package 03:02 Jules - Ma'am 05:25 Jules...
After a fun night out last night throwing axes around, Dave, Bill and Carmen aimed to give you a great show on The Morning Cruise today. As NASA missed their initial target for a launch date, Dave wasn't the only one disappointed. His granddaughter in Texas was sad too! Bill told us how 1/3 of dog and cat owners tend to turn the camera on their pets over human family members. As the staff made their way to the Axe Throwing last night, they learned that they would be...
We had a few light bulb moments and a few opportunities to look on the bright side on The Morning Cruise today. For those that are dealing with anxiety and depression, Bill gave some more insight from J.P. Moreland's book sharing his own journey with treating his anxiety. Carmen had a family game night recently and learned a couple of words she wasn't familiar with, much to our surprise. Christmas could be a little bright for fans of Dolly Parton and/or Zach Williams...
We had a lot of options to decide between today on The Morning Cruise. Carmen's new Christmas tree arrived in 2 boxes over the weekend, but she can't decide if she should set it up and test it now. Got something weighing on your mind and negatively impacting your mental health? Bill shared about a book that you might find some interest in. When presented with the option of a man with a beard or clean-shaven it turns out that most find the bearded man to be more reliable. How...
We thought we might miss Dave for part of today's show with the scheduled launch of Artemis 1, but throughout the show we learned that the launch was on hold and eventually scrubbed for a technical issue that needs to be resolved. Dave's wife got a "hole-in-one" on Wordhurdle over the weekend with a word that had a double letter. Dave immediately asked her, "What's up with that?" When BIll looked up on his home camera, he saw a mysterious figure on the lens. In prayer,...
After re-sharing Bill and Carmen's chat with Matthew West, we looked ahead to a few things. Carmen's looking forward to Christmas already as she just purchased a new tree. Dave got home the other day and took an imaginary boat ride with his granddaughter. If you've gotten a new car in the last few years with the digital display, have you noticed how far you get down the road before you finally find what you are looking for on the display? Dave told us about a study that...
Back in the day, Haley and Carmen were in the habit of journaling together. Recently, Haley came across that journal and shared some of the writings with us. w Some people are in the habit of ordering a cup of water at Chipotle and then "accidentally" filling it with lemonade. Well, Chipotle is on to those customers with their new limited-edition candle. And Dave told us about the time he almost burned the house down with a candle. Bill shared the wonders of watching his first...
Many answered the call to action for their civic duty yesterday in the state of Florida for the Primary Election. Dave wondered what an election would be like if the mudslinging that has become commonplace in politics was outlawed. Carmen had a Stanley tumbler to give away and rather than call in to win, you had to get active and climb a tree for a selfie to win. Bill told us how one Facebook user answered the call for help in finding a lost ring. That prompted Dave to share...
With an audience that has a wide variety of interests, we try to hit as many targets as we can with the types of things that we talk about and we certainly had a "target-rich environment" on today's show! Dave got us started with something you probably didnt know before about UPS. Today was another chance for you to win tickets to see Tauren Wells in Tampa. With 5 Tuesdays in August, there was just 2 chances left (and now there's 1chance left next week!) If you are an...
We covered everything from the window to the wall today on The Morning Cruise. Bill gave us the science behind a noise created by our car windows. We got a winner from our contest to find a listener that shares the same birthday with Chris Tomlin. Wonder if he'll get a window seat on his flight from Rhode Island?! Dave told us about some celebrities that will be on hand during the launch window of Artemis 1. You may want to hang some unique artwork on your wall...
Dave told us about a new movie that had us wanting to go to an arcade and play Pac-Man. Carmen wanted to know what she could do about some unwanted e-mails she has been getting. Bill told us a few things we could do for unwanted thoughts and Carmen shared what she has done with those types of thoughts in the past. Carmen wants to find a place with the perfect temperature but she doesn't really want to take a trip to the moon to find that temperature. If you...
With school back in session, it can be hard to get back into the routine of early mornings. Maybe an unusual breakfast choice would help! Carmen has added a new chicken product to her grocery shopping routine. Carmen's routine has involved Word Hurdle lately. But she may be cutting it from the routine now. Adapting to a routine at college with all that is happening can be cause for alarm, especially when it comes to free speech and what it does to freshmen students. For...
Dave took a quick trip across Florida to watch the beginning of the trek for Artemis 1 from the Vehicle Assembly Building to the launchpad. He shared some pics with us as well. Looking for a prayer journal for 2023? Carmen's got one for you from Val Marie Paper. Dave recently came across an old prayer journal and it had him taking a trip back in time and remembering the people he was praying for at the time. Bill's gonna need to go on an exercise journey to work off...
We learned today that it's never too late to learn a few things! Like the song, Take Me Out To The Ballgame...Dave's granddaughter knows all the words and sings them proudly! Cell phones in schools have become a problem. So what's the solution? Bill has an article from World Magazine looking into the issue. Carmen, along with many of you, is not a fan of humidity. But it turns out she does not live in any of the most humid cities. You might be surprised to learn what the top...
Over the weekend, Bill picked up some tasty treats from a local farmer's market. Carmen tried some cauliflower rice bowls that she highly recommends. Carmen also shared how she saw a couple of articles regarding 2 celebrities that recently passed and it had her sharing her heart for the hope of eternity. Bill followed that up with some comments on John 3:16. Dave shared a story that could have been written with the headline, "You gotta see it to believe it" when a California...
Dave is back today after a quick trip to Nashville. Although he was in a bit of a pickle as his flights experienced a few delays. He was excited to share some new music from Zach Williams, but his computer turned sour and wouldn't let him get the song to us right away. The new song from Zach is a bit of a different flavor from him. And your responses to the song were on the sweeter side! We're getting ready to shoot a video for Sharathon but we're in a bit of a pickle...
Jayar came in early to fil in for Dave. He shared some of the sweet moments he had as he brought soccer cleats to kids in Jamaica. Bill shared a viral video of a Little Leaguer who consoled the pitcher who beaned him. Carmen discussed mindset when it comes to sugar and a sweet moment between Taylor and Madison of Cain. 00:32 Jayar in/ Back To School 05:14 Perseids Today 11:00 Jayar in Jamaica 17:17...
Have you ever had that moment where you were today-years old and learned something new? WIth many going back to school today, we got you started with learning something new today with a fun question for Siri and Alexa to see how they would differ in their answers. Dave's aunt learned of a bass guitar going up for sale that she thought he would want to get his hands on even though it isn't a top of the line instrument. Linda called in to ask Bill about Bible translations that...
If you ever miss a part of The Morning Cruise, you can find it right here on The Morning Cruise. Carmen started out this morning by missing her laptop which she left at home. Many fans of Olivia Newton John are missing her as the news was shared of her passing yesterday. For the younger generations, they missed out on some classic movies. But one movie will be coming back to theatres soon! You can miss a lot with your head down. Carmen reminds us this morning...
How you view your time on Sunday as either a day of fun or a day to reset shows your perspective on a number of things as Carmen got us started with a trend on TikTok. And new perspectives will be shaped as many return to school for their first day today. Dave got to hear the perspective of a new Pastor candidate at church yesterday. Carmen shared a message from Ben Stuart of Passion City Church DC taking a look at the perspective of some Christians that question the...
It may be Friday and we're looking ahead to the weekend, but first, we have to "put in the work". Although, it seems Bill is considering a career change as a proofreader. Dave told us about another job opportunity that while desirable didn't leave a lot of time to work on the resume. Reading the Bible requires some work to be done on a daily basis, but it is amazing what you learn and can be encouraged by. Carmen learned a little more about Mark 6 today. If you are a...
One traveler who was feeling a little peckish ended up paying a hefty price for his breakfast in Australia because of a mistake he made. And for those feeling a little peckish themselves, Bill has a recipe for Cantaloupe Breakfast Bowls. Dave hunted down Haley in the halls and brought her in to share a story from vacation that had us LOL when she told us how their whitewater rafting trip was almost a hunting trip for "beaver sharks". After we poked a little fun at Carmen, she...
If you had the chance to go to Buc-ee's would you jump at the chance? Some listeners are jumping out of bed this morning and heading to school for their first day. Some are jumping mad at seeing a higher rate on their credit card bills. One listener jumped at the chance to make a birthday cake for the GOAT - Tom Brady! When you've got Aqua-colored Stanley Tumblers to give away what better way than to have people jump in the pool with all their clothes on! That's...
Today was the first chance for you to win with Tauren Tuesdays! In addition to that fun, we talked about a t-shirt find at Target, Operation Adventure Quencher, Haircuts, Tara Lee Coble and The Bible Recap, Tailgating and birthday candel etiquette. 00:32 Season 2 of The Chosen 05:31 Joni Eareckson Tada 10:32 Tauren Tuesdays Kickoff 13:22 Carmen's T-Shirt deal 17:33...

As Dave, Bill and Carmen get ready to hit the road for vacation over the next couple of weeks, they looked ahead at a few other things coming down the road. Paige Brown's Fall Bible Study will begin on Wednesday, September 7th. In the meantime, we've got a video message from Paige that is well worth the watch. Jules hit the road along with her husband and youngest daughter for a visit to the Florida studios this week. And her daughter, Ellie, has reveled in spending time at the...
You'll want to hang on with us all show long today. Just like kids who hang on to every word from the show, Bluey, and some adults too! How does one make a connection between the band CAIN and avocado? Hang on to find out how Bill is able to connect those dots as he shares some avocado ripening tips. Are you one to hang on to a bucket list? What travel destinations do you have? For Bill, the United Kingdom is on his list while Carmen wants to make a trip to Italy. Speaking of...
Had to borrow today's podcast title from a Steven Curtis Chapman song as we shared parts of our conversation with the Christian music icon (which you can find HERE)to start the show today. After that we shared a little bit more about our visit with him after the show yesterday and took the opportunity to share about his ministry for adoption, Show Hope. We...

From Dave, Bill and Carmen getting recognized over the weekend to working on ways to see eye-to-eye in the midst of an apology and seeing a few other things that we just had to talk about, today's show was all about seeing eye to eye. But it actually started with some hacks to get some shut eye at hotels. Then Carmen told a story about how she saw Bill's workload differently than he did. Dave told us how he was recognized by listeners while doing yardwork at home. Carmen was...
Yeah...it's summer! But there's always time to learn. And we had a few lessons to learn on The Morning Cruise today. We started by re-sharing a conversation we had yesterday on a Ukrainian teacher giving his lessons from the trenches as he fights for his country. Dave followed that up with some thoughts on Ukrainian cyclists in the Tour De France. For the second time, Carmen has read the entire Bible, as of yesterday. With the help of Nicky Gumbel's Bible In One Year, she finished...
Carmen went to Nashville to visit with friends for the holiday weekend, but was surprised by the impressive neighborhood fireworks show. And the best part, the commute home afterwards, which reminded Dave of a show he saw in Houston, back in the day. For part of Carmen's trip, plans were in the works to meet up with Blessing Offor. That didn't work out, but we did hear that a trip to see us in Florida might be in the works. We've got another artist looking to make the trip to the studio...
Carmen is back from a holiday weekend trip to Tennessee and our conversations were all over creation this morning. Carmen told us about her horseback riding trip and how a ride through the woods helped her get into vacation mode. Bill's looking for things to do on his family vacation to get out and explore and possibly go horseback riding, but he wants to incorporate a vacation hack that he says Jayar has perfected. Renovations at a Delaware mall have revealed what the space...
With Carmen out as she travels back home from an extended 4th of July weekend away, Dave and Bill had a lot to declare on today's show. First, they shared how they spent the holiday weekend. Dave went looking for a quote but had a bone to pick over attribution. Bill took a deep dive on the Declaration of Independence and then shared some thoughts from a blog post about the Declaration of Dependence. Chick-fil-A has been declared the champion amongst fast food...
With Carmen out for a long weekend with her daughters, Dave and Bill kept us entertained this morning by shining a light on several things, including a lot of talk related to stars. We started the show by giving you the opportunity to win a book from Louie Giglio, who celebrated a birthday yesterday! With the 4th of July happening on Monday, there was bound to be a lot of talk about stars (and stripes) today. Bill asked Dave about his plans, which pretty much will be Dave lounging...
On today's show, Dave gave us an update on his grandsons who are reaching the age of crawling, walking and climbing. The iPhone turned 15 yesterday, and with that age comes our own responsibility of handling the rhythms of a digital world with good habits. This weekend, across the country, we'll be celebrating America's birthday. As Dave looked ahead to the celebrations, he reflected on the actions of our founding fathers. One traveler almost had to get his eyes checked...
What's the value of a Stanley Tumbler? According to The Morning Cruise, it's equal to a picture of your face with 3 lime colored items! That was how we kicked off the show this morning and y'all showed up big time for it! The childhood home of Elvis could be yours as it goes up for auction. But...there's a catch! Dave's got all the details for us. The value of women in the eyes of Jesus has been on the mind of Bill as there has been so much focus on that issue lately. And it...
School may be out, but we got quite the educational experience on today's show along with some of our favorite songs! 00:32 Me On Your Mind 03:40 Honey In the Death Knell 07:05 What in the "knell"? 08:00 Overstocked Stores and Returns 12:54 We The Kingdom 14:26 5 Love Languages Study 19:45 Thank You For Your Support! 21:02...
With the news of the Supreme Court decision to reverse Roe vs. Wade happening last week, we spent some time coming together and discussing the divisive and polarizing issue. After that conversation, Dave told us about his weekend, which included a furniture delivery but not a way to put the furniture together. Bill followed that up with a story about people in Scotland coming together to help a Florida couple with their destination wedding gone wrong. Carmen encouraged...
Just like that, it's Friday! And there was a lot to like on today's show, and a few things to dislike. Dave struck first with some news in the dislike column. There's news of a mustard seed shortage. Our next chat had Carmen sharing a Bible Study that her group really liked working through, Jesus and Women by Kristi McLelland. Have you ever noticed how some cakes look like fabrics? There's a reason for that and Bill has all the details for us. One fan of Garth...
Today's show was all about changes for the better as we discussed technology, life changes and healthy changes. Bill got us started with sharing a text from a listener who was able to listen via her smart speaker. Carmen then shared the happy news that Bart Millard's son is engaged. That reminded Dave of the time he supported Mike Weaver of Big Daddy Weave with his own engagement. Dave told us about some surprising innovations from KFC and then we discussed the ways...
There was a large amount of talk about numbers this morning on The Morning Cruise. We started with another look at the amount of photos on each of our phones. Carmen also gave us a hack for photo maintenance. Bill pointed to our JOY Story on Rich and how he used to lead a number of students in an atheists group. But it was his daughter and her baptism that led him to the Lord. If you are a fan of Wordle as much as Carmen is and are looking for a way to play more than once a day,...
Yesterday was a day of travel for Dave, Bill and Carmen as they made their way to Atlanta. And despite Carmen's trepidations, they made it to their destination, slightly delayed and with a bit of turbulence as they shared in their travel diaries with you this morning. Some people tend to go off the beaten track when it comes to following Jesus and they treat him more like a "Play-Doh Jesus" and mold him into what they want him to be in their lives. Pastor Aaron Burke's message...
This weekend was full of celebrations. Bill celebrated a birthday on Saturday. Families celebrated Father's Day yesterday and today is Juneteenth. We spent some time reflecting on 3 of these celebrations on the show today. 00:32 A Father's Day Reflection 02:30 Juneteenth and Black Artists 05:16 Fatburger coming 09:24 NFA Burger in Dunwoody, GA 13:34 A Father's...
Today was filled with affirmations. We got started with a conversation we had earlier in the week where Carmen, Dave and Bill each shared their personal faith affirmation stories and the first time they each said, "Yes", to Jesus. Bill shared a prayer request for pastor and author, Tim Keller, who is in the middle of a fight against pancreatic cancer. Keller has shared how the diagnosis affirmed his belief in the Resurrection. Dollywood has been affirmed as the #1 theme park...
We covered a lot of ground this morning for those that identify as hillbilly and those that are a little more "high brow". Carmen had some Stanley tumblers to give away that were a little scuffed up and asked for your selfies with chickens. Dave followed that up with a request for selfies on your John Deere green equipment. Then Bill wanted to play along, but he went "high brow" with poetry. He followed that up with a high brow opinion on the ugliest color in the world. Dave...
Got issues with time management? Bill has a few tips for you to try out. Carmen tried to do a self-tanner at home but ended up with a big fail! Bill's answer to the question, "Would you take $2000 to put cockroaches in your house?", would be "Try Again!" Looking for a devotional? Try Ellie Holcomb's "Fighting Words". Carmen shared a little from the book this morning. If you are in need of prayer. Try giving our Prayer Line a call at 877-800-7729. Bill...
There is a ton of inspiration on today's show! From food brands inspiring fashion trends to us inspiring you to pray and sharing our own salvation stories with you as well as looking ahead to our vacation plans and inspiring kids during the summer months. And, as always, Bill was inspired by part of today's show to share his BIG Word of the Day. 00:32 Velveeta Nails 04:43 Food-inspired fashion trends 08:41 Write Out...
This morning we started with a request for prayers for an Indiana family that lost their matriarch in a tragic car accident following their time at a for King & Country concert. The band shared the link for the GoFundMe that has been established and Dave shared the words from an industry friend who met the couple at the concert and then visited with the husband in the hospital. The Tampa Bay Lightning are making final preparations for the Stanley Cup Finals. The team is looking for a...
Today's replay was all over the place!! We talked a lot about spray tans, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and snakes!!
Today's replay is all about what is important to us: from true theology to gifts for Father's Day.
Sometimes love is all you need!! From forgiveness to anniversaries, today is all about love.
Today's replay is all about fresh starts! From coming back to work after being at a conference to talking about yummy salads, this is a perfect day for a fresh start. 0:31 Conference Recap 2:07 Deconstruction 6:38 Ed Graham 15:31 D-Day 16:54 Dunkirk 17:34 Top Gun 21:47 Jesus Movement Movie 26:32 Jim Campbell Wins Legacy Award 32:22 Danny Gokee Coffee 33:33 Jennifer Aniston Salad 36:24 Texts 39:09 Blessing...
Today's replay is short and sweet, much like watermelon and the time it takes for your Stanley cup to arrive!
Carmen shared with us that sometimes she will compare herself to others while on social media. She is beginning to focus on reading our Bible more in order to stop this. Comparison makes it really tough to celebrate others. Today Dave, Bill, and Carmen wanted to celebrate CAIN, Kelly Ring, and Van Gogh, so naturally this replay is called Celebrating Others.
There is a lot of chaos in this world, but we are to have peace. From Jules worrying about her kids to the hurricane season approaching, this replay is all about finding peace in the chaos.
In the wake of the tragic news coming out of Texas and the elementary school shooting, we spent some time processing and praying this morning. Dave's daughter-in-law spent some time exploring the plant kingdom as a birthday gift. Bill's youngest son recently moved out and has begun experiencing all the world has to offer as an adult. Carmen has a brand new episode of OFF-AIR with Carmen (for the first time in almost a year!). Today's episode features Terrell & Brandy...
Tauren Wells has set a new standard when it comes to live performances for artists and we are so excited to share with you that Tauren Wells will be coming to Tampa (Jacksonville and Atlanta too!) later this fall. We're so excited that we want you to call your cousins and invite them, even though you may not be able to find a public telephone to connect with them. Pay phones were standard on just about every street corner in major cities but the biggest city just got rid of their last...
Most people know that Dave, Bill and Carmen have an affinity for their morning coffee to help get the blood flowing for the morning. Bill told us how that has evolved in his own home. And then we got to talking about mugs. We've got a fun announcement coming your way tomorrow that we know you're just gonna love! Burger lovers are gonna want to get in on a new contest from the folks at Heinz. You're also gonna want to hear about some burger recipes that Bill came across. But Bill's...
After re-sharing our conversation with Hannah Kerr, we looked at various alternatives. Changes to the workplace have been a big topic as some are moving to hybrid workplace options. Jayar's birthday is today and even though he can't be everywhere for his Birthday bash, we have an alternate way of getting your photo with him today at all the locations we'll be at collecting soccer cleats for his trip to Jamaica later this summer. The USFL has been an alternative for football...
Today's show came with a little extra support! Support for parents of boomerang kids, support for women going through menopause, a crafting support group, a football team supporting their community, support for grilling season and a toddler who needs a little extra support. Bill ran across an article offering support to parents of boomerang kids with some suggestions for rules. Carmen's experiencing a life stage that comes with age. And with this, she's experiencing things in...
Dave celebrated 14 years on Twitter yesterday, but Carmen has been on the outs with the social media platform for awhile now as her account was unexplicably suspended. When you get in the shower, do you use cold water? Bill turns the cold water on just before he gets out. He shared some of the benefits from this practice. Is green in for nail colors? We explored that question as a possibility. With the price of eggs going up, Dave wondered if an issue in Dallas was the...
Despite being stuck at the airport with no place to go, Bill and Carmen had a good experience while waiting to find out what was going to happen to their flight with Delta. Part of their experience came in the form of meeting Dana and connecting with Twyla. As part of his job is as the Music Director, Dave served up a brand new song from TobyMac featuring Blessing Offor. We asked for your travel stories on Instagram and you've got quite the story to tell. At the church...
Dave is back in his seat after being out sick for part of last week, and Bill is grateful for his return (even though Jayar was a great substitute during the show) as Bill had to do some of Dave's work while he was out. One of the jobs that required a little extra heavy lifting was interviewing Matthew West, Cain, and Hannah Kerr while they were in town last week. You'll hear those chats after Dave does his job and edits them! Lakeland resident, Darren Harrison, made headlines last week...
There was a lot of talk about parenting and plants, 2 things we care for around here on The Morning Cruise. Carmen got us started by sharing from her heart about loneliness and referencing Psalm 68:6. Bill then talked about being brothers and sisters in Christ. We don't care for people using their phones in public settings and sharing their conversations so loudly for others to hear. Jules joined us and shared how she recently sat down and shared her story with...
Maybe it's because we're getting close to summer time, but today's show had us traveling through the day. As Jayar gets ready for a trip to Jamaica with your help, a Lakeland man is making headlines for landing a plane with no pilot experience, and today is National Odometer Day, we found out who had the most miles on their car as well as the least amount. 00:32 Psalm 40 from an addict 05:18 Reading Psalm 40 08:26 Steve...
With inflation causing skyrocketing prices and shortages, we're helping those on the lookout for a break on the gas prices. And we're also looking out for new moms on the hunt for baby formula. Dave is out sick today and Carmen got on the phone to ask Jayar to fill in for him. But she couldn't find him, so she got a few others to be on the lookout for him. Part of the reason she couldn't find him was because he wasn't answering his phone calls or texts. That led to a discussion on how...
Sometimes it is helpful to step into someone else's shoes to see their perspective. We did a little bit of that but we started with Carmen telling us how her shoe guy reminded her of the assignment for the Accidental Book Club with Live No Lies by John Mark Comer. Bill gave us the perspective of Chinese Christians who are in the midst of hard times, but we were also reminded that revival comes from hard times. Losing a sibling at an early age is unimaginable. Unfortunately, that...
For those that find tea appealing, Bill has some tips for drinking tea properly. Carmen got an appealing Mother's Day from her family as she enjoyed a lowkey day after a busy week prior. One way to make an appeal is through prayer. Bill had a reflection on the National Day of Prayer that was held last Thursday and later on in the show, he shared some thoughts on relational prayer and The Lord's Prayer. Dave's granddaughter was appealing for help when she got stuck in an...
You've got lots to choose from when it comes to what to listen to in the morning. And we've got lots to choose from when it comes to what to share with you each morning. Dave couldn't decide what to share first this morning so he had Bill and Carmen pick for him. First, he shared the story of a woman who made a choice to call DoorDash which ended up being a lifesaving choice. Then he followed that up with a story of some soldiers that made the wrong choice but that choice got corrected...
Some of today's show might seem like "it's in your face" but sometimes some bold things need to be said. As for the rest of the show, we focused on the ears and mouth. Dave told us about an old friend who is getting married TODAY! Anytime we hear something from Paige Brown, we are sure to HIGHLIGHT it! That was the case this morning as we shared part of what she shared on condensation. The headlines have been in bold lately when it comes to gas prices. We're here to...
One of Carmen's weaknesses is using PowerPoint. But she found a couple people around the office who have that strength to help her power through this weekend and get a presentation ready. Coffee helps us find the strength to power through the day, but for Bill last week, he was under strict orders to not drink coffee for some lab work to be done, or so he thought... Some strong storms came through parts of our listening area this weekend raining on the parade for a few people. For...
Growing up, anxiety, and anxiety about growing plants were all a part of today's show on The Morning Cruise. If you're dealing with anxiety or just in a funk, Carmen has some thoughts for you. With VBS around the corner, Jules has a little bit of anxiety as her oldest daughter has aged out of most VBS programs so she doesn't know what to do. If you've got anxiety about what to get your mom for Mother's Day, Carmen's Favorite Things: Mother's Day Edition has some great...
You may want to make some room on your bookshelf after hearing today's episode of The Morning Cruise. At the very least, you'll feel a little more book smart! Carmen shared a bit from Pastor Aaron Burke's message this weekend. That conversation led to Bill discussing Thomas Chalmers and Expulsive Power. Carmen then told us how she has started reading The Prayer Life by Andrew Murray, which prompted Bill to shared the story of George Muller. And with Mother's Day coming up, Carmen's...
We set out on today's show to quench your thirst for new music, for Biblically-centered knowledge and 40 ounces of water with the Stanley Adventure Quencher for Carmen's Favorite Things- Mother's Day edition. 00:32 Dave @ Anne Wilson's CD Release 05:48 Tobymac's upcoming album 08:09 Happy Birthday Emilie! 09:11 Stanley Adventure Quencher giveaway 12:41 Water Bottle Texts 14:16...
Bill is back from a weekend getaway with his wife. He had some stories to share with Carmen and Jayar (who was filling in for Dave while he's away on a trip to Nashville). "Extra! Extra!" is not something Jayar usually gets to do in the afternoons but he got that chance yesterday when the news broke that Elon Musk would be buying Twitter. And with Mother's Day coming up, we've got some giveaways planned. Of course, Carmen couldn't wait so she held a contest this morning to show...
We had a lot of questions on today's show and a few answers as well. Carmen watched a little bit of the USFL games over the weekend and the jury is still out for her as to whether or not she'll be a fan of the new league. Dave, on the other hand, has questions about his LSU Tigers on the gridiron with a new coaching staff in place. Dave's kids were altogether in Texas over the weekend and Dave and his wife were loving all the pictures they got from all the kids. Carmen...
When you look at the night sky and see the planets aligned, it serves as a reminder of all the good that God has done in the universe. And when you look at today's show, there's a lot of good things to talk about. For instance, Carmen has gotten a lot of good things out of her Bible Study group as they have been discussing Kristi McLelland's Jesus & Women study. There's even good news for women caught in adultery. Lots of good food can come from an air fryer but there is some...
After re-sharing our conversation with Chris Tomlin (which you can find HERE), the rest of the show today was all child's play. Dave told us how he was jealous of a child's toy, but he'll be like a kid again after the show as he turns his attention to the sky in the hopes of seeing the latest launch. We talked with Jules about coaching her girl's softball...
Today's show was for the creatives in several ways. In a conversation on dogs, we got a sense of Dave and Bill's dad jokes and ability to rhyme. And then we discussed how some people have a knack for using social media in negative ways. Carmen shared an original thought from Christine Caine. Hallmark movies are often knocked for the lack of creativity in the storyline, but that isn't stopping one network from adding the Christmas movies to their programming. And those...
Today's show was for fans of baseball, running and writing among other things. And in some cases, we discussed some things we aren't fans of! We started by discussing flowers, a topic that was brought up on yesterday's show and a phone call we took from a florist who schooled us on Carmen's new favorite flower. Then Carmen told us about her experience of being a fan at her nephew's Little League game last night. Bill, a running fan, gave us all the details on yesterday's...
As we are back in our seats after the Easter weekend, Dave, Bill and Carmen shared stories from their family celebrations. For Dave, the festivities began on Saturday to see his granddaughter participate in a neighborhood egg hunt. Bill's weekend was very different than in years past. Carmen had a visitor in town from Nashville, our lifestyle contributor, Tammi. As soon as she landed, they headed for the grocery store to hunt for ingredients to make some of the great recipes...
This Maundy Thursday episode of The Morning Cruise was fruitful, to say the least! Bill sat down with his friend, Justin Holcomb, an Episcopal priest and author, and they spoke about the signficance of the Resurrection in regards to our Christian faith. Carmen's had figs on her mind a lot lately. It started earlier this week when she brought up the cursing of the fig tree. Turns out she was a little confused, Dave tried to help her "figure" it out! We then discovered she was...
Authorities in New York City are searching for the man now considered to be a suspect in the subway shootings that occurred yesterday morning. After that Dave told us how his grandchildren were on the hunt for things to play with in their house and then went in search of fun outdoors. Carmen ran into several issues while in search of an afternoon coffee yesterday. Bill's daughter and son-in-law will be headed to the store in search of ingredients after they tried his...
We visited a few different places on today's episode of The Morning Cruise. Bill started by telling us about a Christian radio station operating in Romania and broadcasting to Russia and Ukraine. That led to a conversation about imagining having to flee and realizing that The JOY FM can be heard in Russia, Ukraine and other surrounding countries. Bill then turned the conversation to being present with your kids and how important that is to the relationship between parent and...
We've got a new player on the team as Candice Grey joins The JOY FM Florida today for her first day on the air from 10am-3pm (EASTERN). We spent some time introducing her this morning and getting to know her. But before she clocked in, we got today's show started with a conversation on Holy Week which led to a little confusion on fig trees and gift shops. Golfers everywhere are celebrating a new Masters champion in Scottie Scheffler. Carmen told us what she learned about the...
Today marks the last day for Dan Brodie to work on the air as our midday guy in Florida! He's excited to move into his new role as the official voice of The JOY FM.You'll still hear him on the station just not in the middle of the day from 10a-3p. We spent the last hour of the show today reminiscing about some of our favorite stories with Dan. Before we got to that, Dave had us wishing one of our workplace perks was to have a nap pod, or at least an office close to a new nap pod business....
With apologies to Scott Stapp and Creed for stealing the song title for today's podcast title, today we embraced a number of topics "with arms wide open". Baseball fans are excited, especially in Atlanta, as the reigning World Series Champions take to the field to start their season today with the home opener. And with news of astronaut Shane Kimbrough being tapped to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Truist Park, Dave wondered aloud if Louie Giglio might be in attendance...
After sharing part of our conversation from yesterday with Brandon Heath (listen to the entire conversation HERE), we got down to business and Bill spoke the written words of one man about another in terms of Love and Purity. That led to another conversation on speaking truth in love. Dave spoke about tiktok makeup trends to the surprise of all of us! Bill's wife...
Our longtime friend, Brandon Heath, dropped by this morning to share some new music from his album, Enough Already, available on April 22nd. But before he joined us we had plenty to talk about...as long as it isn't small talk. Carmen pointed back to a podcast she heard recently on Unanswered Prayer from Bridgetown Audio Podcast. And she can't get enough of a key lime cup product that Haley introduced her to. Dave was surprised to learn that his sister has been interacting...
We didn't have much on the agenda this morning, as Carmen left her laptop at home, but a surprise visit from another radio friend, Corey Mann, turned into some great conversations on The Morning Cruise. Before Corey got in, we reshared a highlight from last week when Carmen called the salon to book an appointment with "Beautimus". On Paul McCartney's agenda? Eliminating the surcharge for what Dave calls "fake milks" at Starbucks. Dave was expecting an Amazon delivery...
We attempted to entertain you in a variety of ways this morning. First we shared part of our conversation with Brooke Ligertwood from Thursday. Click HERE to check out the full-length chat we had with her). Then Carmen told us about her attempt to teach Brooke the game of Wordle. Bill took it from there to tell us how the New York Times tried to have animals play Wordle. If you're looking for an April Fool's joke, you might try and call a beauty salon and ask for "Beautimus"...
Brooke Ligertwood joined us in the studio this morning to share music from her debut solo album, SEVEN. Before she dropped in, the show had a few conversations that had, preferential treatment, shall we say. We started with a conversation on preferences for chocolate, then had a discussion on Bruce Arians preference to move from the sidelines to the front office. After that, Bill told us how the different ways we prefer to access Wordle had a few people wondering why they had a different...
Dave has a few details to work out if he wants to be in the market for a certain house that is making the news. For Bill to book a surprise getaway, he needs to pay a little more attention to the details. When you hear that Carmen hit a hole-in-one yesterday despite never picking up a golf club, you might have missed the small detail in that she was playing WordHurdle. Bill wanted to write a detailed review of a local restaurant, but he's afraid he might jinx the business. When...
As a group, we've all sort of have been intermittent fasting. But Dave has a doctor's appointment coming up that requires a fast. Which may prove to be more difficult as he has to fast until the afternoon hours. That led to a conversaton on the nutritional value of peas. Bill gave us some insight into his use of intermittent fasting and Carmen gave those of you considering the idea a resource to check out on YouTube. Many have been scammed through cyber crimes. Bill gave us some...
Many college athletes at Duke University have learned from the experience of long-time coach, Mike Krzyzewski. And that experience continues to payoff as Duke has made the Final Four of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, in what will be the last opportunity as Coach K is set to retire. Bill and his wife attended a Van Gogh immersive experience over the weekend. Dave's family reminisced this weekend as they celebrated the anniversary of Essie's "Gotcha" day. Bill...
After sharing a portion of our chat earlier this week with Matt Maher (find the entire chat with Matt HERE), the show took on a cinematic quality. Dave got things started with news on a Dolly Parton biopic in the works. And that reminded Carmen of an article on women and the double standard associated with aging. Bill got curious last week about Redbox kiosks and...
Carmen's morning didn't get off to a great start but she chose to laugh through it. Dave's granddaughter is taking charge of playtime with Mims and changing roles for family members. Bill gave us Tim Keller's perspective on the Gospel and then shared how many are confusing the Gospel with religion. Carmen shared how her Bible Study is learning about reading with different lenses in their study of Krisit McLelland's Jesus & Women study. Dave got some insight...
Our goal each day on The Morning Cruise is to entertain and educate you on a variety of topics and today that was certainly our focus. We got things started by discussing the dangerous weather in Alabama and Georgia. From there, our focus turned to entertaining as we talked about Tom Hanks crashing a wedding party photo op, a new fiction book co-authored by Dolly Parton and the popular word game, Wordle and Wordle 2. After that our attention turned to educating you on the Ukraine...
For the most part, everyone is in agreement that Dolly Parton is a musical icon. But the country musician doesn't believe she deserves a spot in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. So she respectfully bowed out. The problem with that? The ballots have already been printed. So now it's up to the fans to do their part and see if she becomes one of the top 5 vote getters. For the most part, we don't do cheesy on the show. So leave it to Bill to give us "non" Trivia Tuesday. Yesterday...
Matt Maher joined The Morning Cruise this morning to chat about what he's been up to including his newest song, Leaning. Before he joined us, Carmen gave us an update on her bank card situation and told us about her weekend visit with Brandon Heath and family. Dave told us how his grandkids are having long distance play dates thanks to technology. Carmen gave us some wise words from Pastor Aaron Burke's sermon series on financial health, Overdue. Bill...
After re-sharing part of our conversation with Mark Hall of Casting Crowns (find the full interview HERE including some web exclusive content), we had a few things for you to consider. For customers of Target, you'll be seeing some changes to their stores soon. And for customers of Uber Eats, you'll be seeing a new surcharge on your bill, for your driver's fuel. Bill...
Dave has returned to his seat after celebrating his mom's 80th birthday. He shared a few stories from his trip and we had a couple of conversations about the day being St. Patrick's Day. We also were happy to sit down with Mark Hall as he and his bandmates from Casting Crowns returned to the studio and made their latest album, Healer. We shared a few laughs with the lead singer and heard some of the new songs from that album. 00:32 Jayar's St. Patrick's Prayer 01:43...
Today was our last day with Jayar before Dave returns to his seat following a trip to Louisiana. And with Jayar's knowledge of the United Kingdom and all things St. Patrick's Day we got a few tips from him today. Bill's bucket list includes a trip to Great Britain and since Jayar has been there many times before, Bill asked Jayar for some travel tips. We then took a moment to congratulate Atlanta radio station, WSB, on 100 years of broadcasting. With Jayar's affinity...
We never really know how the show will turn out with Jayar on the mic. He filled in once again for Dave this week and joined Carmen and Bill this morning. WIth Carmen back in her seat, we took a second to explain where Dave is. She was excited to talk about the Tom Brady news that broke on Sunday, and some in attendance at the Plant City Strawberry Festival were excited to see Tom's teammate, Rob Gronkowski. Jayar then turned up and he got right to it with sharing some...
With Dave and Carmen out this morning, Jayar joined Bill for The Morning Cruise today as we celebrated meeting our FriendRaiser goal, lamented over the time change, and shared a slice of our life with you on Pi Day. 00:32 FriendRaiser Goal Reached! 03:10 Daylight Saving Time 05:02 text response 05:13 Tom Brady is back! 10:05 Tom Brady Football Auction 14:04...
THIS IS IT! It's the last day before FriendRaiser 2022 and we spent the morning getting encouraged by your responses as to why you give to The JOY FM. We also discussed the courage of the Ukrainian people. Dave offered up some encouragement from elementary school kids. And Bill and Carmen are looking for a little encouragement for Fiona and Paula. 00:33 This Is It! 02:28 iPhones listening in 05:27 Ukraine over the weekend 10:00...
While baseball might not be underway yet, we had all the hits on The Morning Cruise today! Dave got us started by telling us about a dog house hit by a meteorite and was a hit on the auction block. Focusing on the money, Carmen then gave us an update on her bank card situation and she's hoping she hit a home run with the bank tellers to qualify for the card she wants. Brooke Ligertwood has been the voice behind a number of hits with Hillsong. She's stepping up to the...
Popularity certainly plays a part in some of the things we talk about on The Morning Cruise. And that was the case today as we discussed a number of popular things. Well...we might not have started off with that as Bill discusses some motivations for getting out and going for a walk. Carmen finally unlocked some flair for meeting her fitness goals in February. Carmen's got her favorite nail colors and is often asked about them. But it turns out that not all of her colors...
These are trying times and often we can feel like we are being put to the test. That is certainly the case for the people of Ukraine. So take a moment and pray for the people. One listener found herself being tested in the middle of the pandemic when she lost her job and her marriage. But she found comfort in The JOY FM and has decided to be a part of our running start for FriendRaiser. Bill tested his physical abilities by running a 5K and a half marathon. He was hesitant to...
It's been awhile since we sat down with Tauren Wells. We got the chance to do that recently and shared that conversation while we listened to some of his new bops! And not only can the man sing, he can dance, and more importantly, he can preach! As today is Tuesday, that means we are 1 week away from FriendRaiser and you might hear some terms you aren't familiar with during that time. Dave told us about the terms and conditions agreement for the Peacock Streaming Network and...
We're running on empty after a very full weekend with Team Freedom and running for those not free to run yet at the Gasparilla Distance Classic. It was a great success as we celebrated with raising more than $1million since the start of the program. As we got settled into our seats, we turned back to Friday when we shared new music from Brooke Ligertwood. Then we told you all about the Team Freedom Worship Rally with Natalie Grant. Bill met a few listeners that he told...
As we gear up to hit the streets of Tampa this weekend and run for those not free to run yet with Team Freedom, today’s show had a little change of pace to it. Carmen got us started on the right foot by giving away a few copies of Sadie Robertson Huff’s book, Who Are You Following?, which will have you changing your pace when it comes to social media. Part of the Team Freedom weekend is a Worship Rally featuring a concert with Natalie Grant and a message from Bill Martin. This...
Today was jampacked with some great conversations, so try and keep us as you follow along on today's episode of The Morning Cruise Replay! We hope to be leading the pack this weekend at the Gasparilla Distance Classic with Team Freedom and bringing awareness to the fight against human trafficking. We know that many people like to follow along with us during the week of FriendRaiser to track our progress so we gave a little insight this morning to those that might not be familiar...
Dave reads from the 46th chapter of Psalms for our Morning Devotion for Thursday, February 24th.
As much as technology has provided us, it has some challenges as well. We explored a few of those challenges and had some other challenges of our own on the show today. Bill got the conversation started by asking about our "digital hygiene". And if you've never connected with us on social media, there are a few places you can find us. Operating this radio station can be a challenge and one that we need your help with. After all, "There's No Us Without You", and that's what FriendRaiser...
It's "Twos-day" and it was a sensational one on The Morning Cruise. The news broke yesterday that the sensational singer from the last season of America's Got Talent, Nightbirde, passed away after her 3rd bout with cancer. JOY FM artist, Plumb, was a close friend of Nightbirde and shared some memories of her on Instagram. The headlines right now feel sensational but Bill reminds us that is provides Christians an opportunity to think differently. The taste sensation that...
It's a bit of a busy week with Team Freedom happening this weekend as we take action against the atrocities of human trafficking. Dave's son has been busy at work with digitizing some old video tapes and now he'll be doing that with some home videos including Dave and Emilie's wedding video. Fans of The Terminator paid some big bucks for the action film on VHS in a recent auction. Dave, Carmen and Kimberly (Bill's wife) have been taking action in the form of a Wordle...
We love alliteration around here! And we love to talk about faith and fun on any day, not just a Friday in February. Carmen got us started with an invitation to get back to church. Bill gave us 5 Fun Facts from Reader's Digest. Dave told us what his granddaughter does for fun at his house. Carmen is feeling the stress of meeting her February goals for mileage on her Apple watch. Bill gave us some insight into some marriage stats that had Carmen pointing...
Who knew it was Potato Lovers month? Well...for those that love potatoes, they'll be fawning over a new fragrance, Frites By Idaho. And Carmen's got a couple of pro tips for lovers of French fries. While fans of the LA Rams are fawning over the newly crowned Super Bowl champions, one player is busy fawning over his newborn son, born shortly after the game on Sunday night! And that birth story had us sharing a couple more baby stories. Bill shared a few letters...
We shared stories of people coming to the aid of others this morning and we asked for your help a couple of times as well. Bill kicked things off this morning by telling us about a study on college students who are finding it difficult to attend in person classes and the effort to help them through an app. Justin Bieber has been credited for helping Tim Horton's in Canada through a partnership offering Bieber's favorite flavors in mini donuts. Last week, Carmen was looking...
One of the reasons for the rise in popularity for the social media platform, TikTok, is the products that people have discovered and are obsessed with as they scroll through the app. Dave shared a few from a list of 72 different products. Recipes is another popular subject on TikTok and Carmen's daughter made one of the viral recipes this weekend with Crack Dip. Not to be confused with Christmas Crack or Crack Chicken... Many people have become obsessed with the word...
Love was on the air this morning as we celebrated Valentine's Day, last night's Super Bowl and a few other things. We started off with a call to Jules as she is set to help her daughter's class celebrate Valentine's Day in class. Is there a better day than today to enjoy a little Red Velvet Cupcake? Well...any day to enjoy the sweet treat from our friend, Connie, is! Football fans who love to see a great game were in for a treat last night with the Super Bowl . And...
WIth the Super Bowl happening this weekend, our focus was on the game and some great food options that you might want to try for your watch party. And with Valentine's Day happening on Monday, we got you prepped for that special time with your family to show your love. As the Los Angeles Rams prepare to take on the Cincinnati Bengals, the Tamp Bay Buccaneers are enjoying their last few days with the title of Super Bowl Champs. One guy apparently loves to break Guinness World...
There's a lot of fighting going on in the world today. We discussed some of the global conflicts and provided you with some Fighting Words as well. Bill got us started discussing the Russia- Ukraine conflict and shared a video on the Hero Pastors in Ukraine. Jules gave us an update on Maria who was advised to not return to her home country of Nigeria because of the conflict there. Jules also gave us an update on her training for Team Freedom as she is helping uns in...
What's in style and out of style? We explored that using our own unique style on The Morning Cruise today. Bill got us started with fashion trends that are on their way out according to Grazia magazine. Carmen got a new debit card but wants to change banks because of a couple things she doesn't like about the design. Is keeping up with the trends to blame for Americans being so much in debt? Or is it the housing market? Wordle is definitely on trend. And now...
When word gets around to The Morning Cruise on something, you know we'll be among the first to share it with you. And today, we were especially "wordy". After hearing about Wordle, Dave has been playing it and now his wife, Emilie, is a fan of the game as well. When Carmen first heard about StockX, she was skeptical. She gave us an update to tell us that the shoes arrived without issue. Carmen may have started the Accidental Book Club, but Bill has been the one to carry...
Today we celebrated the birthday of the one and only, Dave Cruse! Bill and Carmen didn't plan it but started the show the exact same way, by singing to the birthday boy! Dave is an avid cyclist, and Carmen wants to be a walker...indoors. So she's on the hunt for a treadmill. Last week, Carmen told you about the 40-Day Wife Challenge from Jonathan Pokluda. We've now got a way for you to join the challenge.
We love connecting with you each and every morning to talk life, both virtually and real-life. We got started with a conversation on Facebook and the Metaverse. We heard from a teacher who is working with kids in a hybrid environment who shared how it is impacting them at a young age. That led to more of a conversation on looking for affirmations online. And for those looking to work on their relationship with their spouse, Carmen tells us about a 40-day wife challenge...
Today was filled with fruitful conversation on The Morning Cruise. Bill got us started by talking about the economic outlook on goods and services, especially when it comes to dining out and traveling. And for those that choose to order from Domino's, Dave told us how the company is tipping customers for picking up their own pizzas. Carmen shared what she heard on her way in this morning from Nicky Gumbel on the Fruit of the Spirit. Hearing that, Bill was reminded that...
No, there was no shedding of clothes on the show this morning! But we did discuss the beginning and ending of several different streaks this morning. Carmen got us started by telling us how she is sweating it out to keep her streak alive in February to close the rings on her Apple Watch. With the cold weather, Dave is trying to ride his bike more often, but can't seem to start a streak of riding indoors. Bill is in a step contest but can't find his way out of last place. Since...
Friends fans, will recognize that 5-letter word, Pivot! from a famous episode. And that seemed to be today's theme on The Morning Cruise for several reasons. We're all thinking about 5-letter words as we play the popular word game, Wordle. Although it started a bit of a spat yesterday between Bill and Carmen. We spoke with Colton Dixon recently who shared how he has pivoted as the father of 18-month-old twins and after losing his record deal. With news of Wordle being...
Carmen caught on to the craze of Wordle and reviewed her experience with the game. There's been a lot of scrutiny over the NFL Playoffs and whether or not Tom Brady is retiring. Carmen started the "Accidental Book Club" with Jackie Hill Perry's book, Holier Than Thou. And Bill has given us a review of the first chapter. Today is the last day to sign up for Team Freedom! Dave thought Monday was a great day for "Dave's Rants" but it turns out that his POV is under...
At one point today, Bill described the show as 'meaty'. And he wasn't wrong! Today's show was filled with all sorts of good stuff. We started off by re-sharing our conversation about Tom Brady's leadership and Jonathan Pokluda's sermon on entitlement. Then Bill hit us with some Fast Facts. And then we called Andrew, Jill and Christina to tell them that they had won 1 of 5 spots in the upcoming JOY FM Round of FASTer Way To Fat Loss. Dave then told us about a...

We were abuzz with excitement about several different things on The Morning Cruise today. Carmen was excited to share His Word from a few different perspectives. Dave is excited for the expansion of a Louisiana franchise. And Bill is excited to share some tips for Wordle. 00:33 Jonathan Pokluda on Entitlement 05:35 Matthew 7 08:38 Carmen at the coffeemaker 09:28 Wordle tips 12:15...
We started today's show off on a very serious note with a deeper conversation that was sparked from our earlier conversation about Jana Kramer. For many men, it is easy to get hooked on viewing inappropriate materials. But there is resources out there to heal you from that addiction. And one way we are helping to combat the issue is through Team Freedom. The cold weather has iguanas in South Florida wishing they had a way to hook to the trees rather than falling out of them. Carmen's...
What's a 5-letter word for experience? Event And speaking from experience, I can tell you that today was an event(ful) day on The Morning Cruise. After re-sharing Bill's 6 lessons he learned from parenting teens (see last Friday's Replay - For Example to hear it again) where he shared his own experiences to help us learn, we got to the big news from the weekend with the very eventful playoff games, including the Bucs loss to the Rams. And while we missed the end of the...
If you've ever thought about sharing your favorite radio morning show with a friend but it's after The Morning Cruise is done for the day, you can always point them in the direction of The Morning Cruise Replay to be an example of what you might hear listening each and every weekday morning to Dave, Bill and Carmen. And they try to lead their lives by example as they share life with you. But sometimes we're the example of what not to do. Like Dave, who keeps accidentally biting his lip. We...
There's good news for people with hair loss as Dave tells us this morning. At a loss for what to do with the supply chain issues and staff shortages when it comes to getting your everyday necessities? We looked into the issue a bit this morning. Carmen is mourning the loss of a close friend to cancer and remembering all the good she did for young Christians. Bill reminds us that Debbie is no longer walking by faith but her faith now is sight. Ellie Holcomb has a new song...
People were throwing their hands up for various reasons on today's show. Carmen had people throwing their hands up over text for a copy of Jackie Hill Perry's book, Holier Than Thou. And we were all throwing our hands up praising Paige Brown on her take on Hannah in 1 Samuel. In an emergency situation, people tend to throw their hands up. But it may be the Apple Watch on their wrist that proves to be most helpful in that situation. When you hear a TobyMac song...
We had a full plate of a show today. You might think we started the show a bit hungry as we turned from Apples (pens) to Almond Cows to desserts and appetizers. Comfort food is something we often turn to with grief. Carmen shared how she has a friend in hospice care and then we shared a video of TobyMac discussing his grieving process Dave fired us up with the story of US Olympian Sydney McLaughlin and her faith journey. As we get ready to carb-load for Team Freedom,...
There was lots of football action that had us glued to the TV over the weekend, and not just Dave and Carmen. Bill spent some time with his 2-month-old granddaughter who might just be a Cowboys fan. As a kid, Dave grew up as a Saints fan. But he somehow owned a pair of Cowboys PJs. As kids, we have a tendency to think of some restaurants as fancy, only to realize later in life, that that was not necessarily the case. On this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we spent some...
It's Friday and we had a few fits of laughter this morning as we tried to imagine doing 40 wishes and getting older. And speaking of getting older, Dave told us how olive oil can help the aging process. Bill told us some hilarious name for snow plows in Michigan. We heard some great roasts from the Twitterverse, courtesy of Wendy's. Haley gave us some insight into The Ruthless Elimination Of Hurry by John Mark Comer as she's reading it for the 4th time. She's...
Amanda Tress, founder of FASTer Way To Fat Loss, joined us this morning to discuss her program and The JOY FM Round that starts on January 31st. If you need a little more inspiration to get off the couch to join the program this year, she's got another incentive that you'll want to hear about. And if you enjoyed it so much that you would like to work for her, there are some opportunities to do that for her growing company. After all that chatting, Dave was inspired to share a story about...
On today's show, we pointed out a lot of things for all to see. Carmen's favorite college football team was in it to win it last night in the National Championship game, but her beloved Alabama Crimson Tide came up short against the Georgia Bulldogs. Another winner from last night's game was the national anthem singer, and our friend, Natalie Grant. If we were playing a game of hide and seek with The JOY FM billboards, it seems like Jayar is easy to find while Dave, Bill and Carmen are still out there hiding somewhere! Dave told...
If you've been listening to The Morning Cruise, it doesn't take long to get the sense that Dave, Bill and Carmen are like family. And over the years, Team Freedom has become like a family as well, and we want to join you the family to help those not free to run...yet! One of America's favorite TV dad's, Bob Saget, passed away unexpectedly yesterdy in an Orlando hotel room. This Wednesday, we'll be glued to the internet for the start of Paige Brown's newest Bible Study. Dave's...
Bill was in a quizzical mood today as he had a couple of quizzes that he popped on Dave and Carmen this morning. And we clued you into a few other things going on in the world. 00:33 Schoolhouse Rock Anniversary 04:49 Schoolhouse Rock Quiz 06:55 Michelle's JOY Story 11:21 Alexa in Space 15:25 Dolly's 3 Billion Streams 17:48 Twins Born in Different...
The way Dave and Bill were twinning you might think they are in the same club. They were just sporting the latest in merch from Provident Records. But not to be outdone, they got a gift from Capitol Records as well. But they didn't know who it was from until they opened it. And Carmen wanted others to enjoy these gifts so she gave one away this morning. After that, the show became what Carmen has termed with her friends an "ABC - Accidental Book Club". Bill got us started with a devotional...
As students return to school after the new year (in person or online), we got back to school in a number of ways this morning. Bill actually attended a school he hasn't been to in a long time on New Year's Eve! Carmen schooled us on what she learned about idols in a podcast from John Mark Comer and David Brooks. Bill gave a quick lesson on where to find The JOY FM as you travel through Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Then we got a couple of lessons on punctuation...
It's the first day of The Morning Cruise for 2022 and Dave, Bill and Carmen got right back to it after a long holiday break. What better way to start a new year than by taking a deeper dive into The Bible? We shared the sad news of the passing of Jay Weaver, bassist and founding member of Big Daddy Weave. Bill and Dave shared some of the things that happened in their families over the holiday break. Carmen shared some of the highlights from Passion 2022. Dave's...

Today was the last day for The Morning Cruise for 2021 as we start 100 Hours of Christmas Music tomorrow. So we brought in Hitch, Steve, and Haley to find out what their highlights for 2021 were. Before we got to that, Carmen encouraged those that don't have a church home to find a place to go for Christmas Eve and Bill gave us the theology behind Hark The Herald Angels Sing. 00:32 Christmas Eve Services 03:25 Hark The Herald Angels...
As we get ready to close out the year on The Morning Cruise, today was an all out effort! And Carmen gets an A for finishing The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom! She also spent some time getting Christmas shopping. Bill did as well and got 18,000 steps! As Carmen was wrapping gifts last night, she came across some items in her closet that she decided to giveaway. But when she does a giveaway it requires a little effort on your part! We heard from a listener who made...
We were solving several problems on today's show in addition to sharing our Christmas Story montage and The Birth of Jesus montage (both available on themorningcruise.com). Jules told us how her daughters had a problem with their school Christmas program and kids passing out during rehearsal. She followed that up with an issue at home with roaches. In the final installment of Louie Giglio's Advent devotional, Waiting Here For You, he discusses humility. Bill had a problem...
Today could have felt like a trip around the world as we shared stories from a few different parts of the globe. We started with Carmen telling us about her new favorite shirt featuring a global icon from the good ol' US of A - Dolly Parton. Dave told us about a Canadian favorite making its way south of the Mason Dixon Line. Carmen spent the day yesterday at Disney World with Brandon Heath and his family. Bill gave us some insight on that little town of Bethlehem. And...
It took the heroic efforts of law enforcement officials to bust a human trafficking ring in Georgia, which fuels our fire to run for those not free to run yet with Team Freedom. When Dave asked Carmen about Zorro, she thought he was talking about a superhero. But he cleared things up for her as he shared the news that WIlmer Valderrama is slated to take on the character in a new Disney project. Speaking of Disney, Carmen is headed there today for a birthday celebration with a...
With all the things we talked about on today's show, you might think that self care was on our minds. Bill got us started with some encouraging news for the early morning runners in the crowd. For those that prefer to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate we shared a couple of our favorite recipes. Bill had some heallthy snack alternatives to leave out for Santa, but Dave and Carmen weren't having it. Dave spent some time playing with his granddaughter yesterday...
The way we started the show this morning, you might think that today's podcast title is a bit tongue-in-cheek. But after we got past that fun conversation, we turned our attention to the tornadoes that hit multiple states over the weekend and the devastation that was caused. If you are interested in helping the cause, we have a link at thejoyfm.com for Convoy Of Hope. Your opportunity to see Christmas with The Chosen has not passed despite the technical issues they had last night during...
The hashtag, #mypeople, is a favorite of Crowder's on social media. And he is actually featured, along with his wife in People Magazine. But before we got to that, if you consider Dave, Bill and Carmen to be #mypeople, then you know that Carmen is a fan of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, but would she be a fan of Reese's University? We know what her favorite things are this year and we know that some people have to share a birthday with Jesus but sometimes they get shortchanged for gifts...
As we wrap up Carmen's Favorite Things today, she shared the classic items that make the list every year. Before we got to today's list, she shared some classic gingerbread cookies with the guys as well as a candied apple with pecans. Right after she shared the entire list of her Favorite Classics, she gave away some of the phone charger Christmas lights and some Fresh Market Christmas blend coffee. Louie Giglio reminded us to praise Him in the waiting. Chess...
As Carmen shared some of her favorite books with us today, we got started by sharing the news of Christmas with The Chosen setting a record for Fathom Events, the company that put the movie in theaters. Carmen surprised her mom with tickets to see the movie and she is so excited she could jump (if she could...). Blue Origin is making news for a previous launch featuring William Shatner that will be available as a documentary soon. And they are also getting ready to send Michael...
Carmen's got you covered from head to toe today as she shares her favorite things for your closet.
Before we got to Carmen's Favorite Things, she shared from her newest favorite book, The Hiding Place.
After that we started with Carmen's list and a few things for the head from a Carhartt beanie to a blowout, which the guys got schooled on. And it turned out to be a winner for Al, who we met last year when he called about charcuterie boards.
We continued with Day 2 of Louie Giglio's Advent Devotional, Waiting Here For You.
Bill took some time to recognize Pearl Harbor Day.
Carmen got back to her list with a bit of a fail for charcuterie boards.
On her list this year, she's got socks, which reminded Dave of a family text thread where socks were on the Christmas wishlist.
The Chosen movie is in theatres and we are excited. So much so that Bill celebrated it with his BIG Word.

As we've been playing your favorite Christmas songs, Bill gave us the theology behind some of your favorite Christmas hymns.
Carmen's Favorite Things will be revealed next week. And it has taken a whole team of people to put it together.
Playing on the TV last night, was a LIVE production of Annie, featuring Harry Connick, Jr. as Daddy Warbucks.
Laser Christmas lights have become a favorite around many neighborhoods. But be careful where you point them!
We shared a conversation from a few years ago with Mark Hall who did a rendition of I Heard The Bells and then brought out his character, Miss Maudy.
Hitch, along with a little help from his mom, brought in a family favorite recipe for fruitcake for The Morning Cruise ( minus Dave and Carmen) to sample.
Cilantro is an ingredient that can divide people but what about cilantro soap.
And if your favorite part of the day is Bill's BIG Word, you'll want to get in the mix on this one.

Today’s show had a little give and get to it. We started off by reaching back to a conversation with Mark Hall on Casting Crowns version of I Heard The Bells. And then we gave you a taste of one of the many characters that Mark has with Miss Maudy.
If you’re looking for the right toy to give this Christmas, Dave has the list of hot toys from Amazon.
Bill has a gift dilemma. While Carmen has a little gift giving fatigue.
We gave you a small sample from Louie Giglio’s Advent Devotional which we will be sharing more of next week.
Carmen gave us another part of the story from The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom and Jules told us about some resources for young readers on the book.
Jules is getting Haley to join her on the bandwagon as a UGA football fan. Much to the chagrin of Carmen.
Dave’s LSU Football Team got a new coach, but he’s still not sure how he feels about it.
While the Christmas season is a time for giving and getting, grief can be a difficult path to walk down during the celebratory times.
And, as always, Bill gives us a little vocabulary help with his BIG Word.]

Planning for the holidays and the start of a new year can be a tough task. But we've got a few plans for you to consider, even as we plan for the show!
Carmen had to make a run to the store last night for some items from her "favorite things" list this year and recruited her husband, Pete, who was under the impression the trip would be much shorter than it was.
But it worked out and will work out in your favor next week with "Carmen's Favorite Things"!
Bill likes lists and planning organization tools to help curb his anxiety and gave a few diffferent tools to use.
And we've got a few different devotionals that you might plan to use during the Advent season.
Dave's been in the planning and rehearsal stages of his church's Christmas musical production which debuts this weekend. He shared some of the message behind this year's show.
After hearing Dave talk about that, Carmen was reminded of an Advent message from Louie Giglio that we shared last year. So we changed our plans for next week to re-share that message of hope for the Advent season.
If you're planning on changing your sleep schedule for the weekend, you might think twice after hearing a sleep study that Bill shared.
While Carmen loves her sleep, she's planning to get a Hatch to help with waking up, but wanted some reviews from those that already have the product.
Food planning for the holidays can be tricky, but you might want to add a Goat Cheese appetizer to your menu after hearing about it from Carmen.
Bill on the other hand wants a fruitcake for the holidays. But not just any fruitcake. A "clean" one.
Part of Carmen's plan to clean out her office involves "regifting" but she recently had a regifting fail with a coworker.
In response to that, we heard from a listener who had a gifting fail with their family.
Planning to expand your vocabulary? Make it a point to catch Bill's BIG Word of the Day.

You may have noticed that The JOY FM is sounding a little different as we become "Your Christmas Music Station" from the day after Thanksgiving all the way through Christmas Day. We do this as it is our biggest outreach every year and so you'll hear some old familiar Christmas songs and some new ones that celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Before we got to talking about some of those Christmas songs, Bill shared some insight on how Black Friday looked a little different with more people returning to shopping in retail locations.
One of the most iconic bands in history has a new documentary out on Disney+, with footage showing the band behind the scenes towards the end of their run.
The Iron Bowl had Carmen and many other Alabama and Auburn fans on the edge of their seats as they had a record-setting game with 4 Overtimes before Carmen's Crimson Tide took the win.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade had one of our favorite artists on the Cracker Barrel float with Tauren Wells singing a tune from N*Sync.
Bill saw a question and brought it to the show asking about our favorite original Christmas songs from Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) artists.
Thanksgiving looked a little different this year for Dave, Bill and Carmen and they shared the highlights from the holiday weekend.
for King & Country kicked off their Little Drummer Boy Tour over the weekend which also happened to be the beginning of the season of Advent. As Bill tells us about this season of arrival.
A group text from a Michigan High School basketball team included a wrong number, which just so happened to belong to #23 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sean Murphy-Bunting. The freshmen basketball team then ended up on a FaceTime call with several members of the Buccaneers and getting a tour of their locker room.

We are getting ready for the holiday and just about every other day.
We started by having a conversation with Jason, the founder of The Pour Over newsletter. A daily newsletter that is available a few mornings a week and only takes about 5 minutes to read while offering a Biblical perspective on the headlines.
Dave told us about Dolly Parton’s morning routine. And knowing that Carmen is a fan of board games and true crime, he offered up a suggestion for their next game night.
With her house turned upside down, Carmen managed to find the time and space to get in a last minute suggestion for a Thanksgiving Table setting for 2021.
Dave’s wife has been crafty lately making a quilted table runner and decoupage pumpkin.
Bill went to the airport last night to pick up his son and saw just how busy it can get during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Dave’s been getting ready for his annual Thanksgiving weekend camping trip with a project to help get his tent to be placed in the bed of his truck.

Today's show had us focusing on the television and a few reading options. Carmen watched part of the Bucs game last night and is excited to watch the rest of it now that she knows the end result.
A few weeks ago, football fans watched as Mike Evans gave away a football to a fan forgetting that that ball was used to make history. In last night's game, Mike Evans set a record with a TD catch and almost gave away that ball too before he remembered that the ball needed to stay in his hands.
Alison Sweeney's name came up in conversation yesterday with Carmen seeing her in a Hallmark movie. Carmen remembers her from Days Of Our Lives. Well, Alison is reprising her role with the soap opera for a Christmas special and Carmen may have to find a way to watch this one.
Dave's been writing and performing in his church's Christmas production for years and they are in the final rehearsals for this year. But, next year, the church musical production might just have a special guest.
If you are flying for the holiday and wondering what Thanksgiving foods you can fly with, Bill read the list of options from TSA. And how would you feel if you were flying and watched as another passenger boarded with a pot of spaghetti and proceeded to eat it during the flight?
As we gather at the table with family during Thanksgiving, the possibility for the conversation to turn awkward is there. Bill has a few book suggestions to help you navigate handling those situations.
A father and son have teamed up to write a children's book featuring a favorite restaurant after watching the kindness of a few Waffle House employees.
And talking about Waffle House had Bill thinking about his family's breakfast casserole.
And you can't escape before catching Bill's BIG Word of the Day.

In the anticipation the Thanksgiving holiday this week, we did a lot of prep. Maybe not as much as the Martins have done already, but we looked ahead to not only Thanksgiving but Christmas as well today.
After Dave ordered a smoked turkey from Greenberg Smoked Turkeys, Carmen decided to do the same but it came a little faster than she thought it would so she was concerned about how long it would last.
And Carmen now understands the pull of a Hallmark Christmas movie as she found herself watching one over the weekend, but had to leave before the end. And Bill almost ruined the ending for her.
After Carmen decided to lay claim to the towel signed by Tom Brady, she asked Dave and Bill about signed memorabilia they would want. Dave thought it would be great to have something signed by an Apollo astronaut and Josha came through for him with a t-shirt signed by Story Musgrave.
And after Carmen offered to have it framed, Bill had a DIY suggestion for her.
Carmen has held on to The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom for awhile now but she can't put it down now as she shared some of what she read in Chapter 4. Bill responded to that with a thought from Psalm 34:18.
If the stuffing/dressing is something you are anticipating on Thursday's dinner table, you may or may not want to try a recipe from Red Lobster featuring their Cheddar Bay biscuits.
Bill shared a couple of stories under the radar from World Magazine regarding the loss of skills in PE Class and recent homeschooling trends.
And for those of you looking forward to an adventure, you'll be anticipating Bill's BIG Word of the Day.

Two competing condiments are off to the space race. Bill has chosen a different condiment. We checked in with Jules who told us about her husband, David, and his efforts to have the best light show in the neighborhood, and now she's comparing his light show to a side show for a neighbor down the street. And she's struggling with travel ball while her daughter is struggling with a handheld snack.
We shared the sweet story of a grandmother who sent a wrong text and has now had Thanksgiving with the person that received that original text for 6 years now.
Dave gave us a little snack in the form of a new Christmas song from We The Kingdom.
Then we shared one of our favorite calls from this week when we chatted with Marsha about life in the trucking industry.
Carmen's a little sad as she's got 2 more weeks of snacks on Saturdays with college football.
And Bill gave us a morsel with his BIG Word of the Day.

Just like Santa on Christmas, today's episode of The Morning Cruise was all over the place!
And speaking of Santa, Dave's granddaughter sees a resemblance in her "Pops" and Mr. Claus.
While she's excited for the holiday, there comes a time in our lives when we lose interest in the Christmas holiday.
Dave placed a new version of a classic Christmas song into the mix and got some thoughts on Jordan Feliz's version of Feliz Navidad.
Carmen's place at home had a crack in it, but it sounds like they'll be able to celebrate Christmas with a new floor in place.
A cow in Brazil was out of place on the slide at a waterpark. While a deer in Michigan found a place of refuge in a church on the first day of hunting season.
After many recommendations, Carmen has started to read The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom.
Retail stores are getting set for the holiday sales and some businesses think the supply chain issues won't put them in a hard place this year.
Wired ear buds are finding their place on store shelves once again as they are becoming popular in place of the wireless option.
And you might find yourself in a confusing place if you misuse Bill's BIG Word of the Day.

We talked about a number of things, some of which actually dealt with numbers!
Dave got us started with a story that is 6 years old when a grandmother sent a text to the wrong phone number and has developed a friendship with the young man on the other end of that number.
That got Carmen to thinking about texting her number neighbor.
Bill told us about 2 kinds of people in the world when it comes to phone notifications at night and how to handle those notifications.
We talked to a number of folks in the trucking industry about the issues they are facing.
On The Voice recently, Jershika sang a familiar number that got the attention of for King & Country after she sang "God Only Knows" on the show.
8 is a lot of touchdowns, especially for a high schooler. But for Alex Brown, his 8 touchdowns and a tribute to his late mother got the attention of number 12 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And #12 sent TMC a little something, but it has somehow ended up in Carmen's possession.
Reese's is looking to redefine what a pie is with a 9-inch diameter Peanut Butter Cup that weighs more than 3 lbs.
Carmen went to Instagram for what Dave and Bill was a poll. Turns out, she put up a multiple choice quiz with 2 right answers.

Much of today's show was devoted to your questions as we opened up Instagram and Facebook for a little "AMA" session with Dave, Bill and Carmen.
Before we got to that, Carmen shared some stats on the YouVersion Bible App.
She then had a question for Dave about the decor in the studio. But Dave had other questions about other things in the room. Which we promptly decided to giveaway!
Bill gave us some data on the health benefits of tea.
And then we opened up the social media accounts to get your questions and share our answers.
And for those that question themselves on the right word to use, Bill is sharing words this week that often get confused for other words.

Yesterday, we had a very mature for her age, Anne Wilson, join us for the first time in the studio. We re-shared a portion of our conversation with the 19-year-old singer today.
After that we touched on the tragic car accident that killed a 23-year-old Tina Tintor, involving NFL player Henry Ruggs III.
Bill helped us mature in our understanding of the Book of Luke with a look at Luke 19.
And from our conversation with Mac Powell, we got a dose of 3 different medicines.
Mac Powell and many other Christian musicians have graced the stage of the Grand Ol' Opry which is about to turn 100 years old.
For many years now, we have done T-shirts For Turkeys and next week we'll be out and about collecting turkeys and giving you t-shirts in return for your generosity.
And, of course, we hope it lives up to Bill's BIG Word of the Day.

As we enter the "holiday season" we spent this morning doing all sorts of prep work. First we shared a portion of our conversation last week with Chris of Stars Go Dim and he told us how he's planning to spend the holidays with family and his new Christmas song, The First Noel.
After that, Carmen shared how she wants to decorate the studio. And Bill wants to decorate his house this year with a palm tree in place of the traditional evergreen.
Dave told us about the return of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and Carmen told us that one of our favorite artists will be performing during the telecast.
And Bill's thoughts on a palm tree for Christmas were solidified after hearing from a listener who has done that for 15 years!
Carmen shared what she's been reading in the Book of Hosea and how the book, Redeeming Love, mirrrors that scripture. After that we learned that a Redeeming Love will be coming to theatres nationwide in January 2022.
And Dave told us about an audiobook he listened to yesterday and recommends for fans of Alice Cooper.
Carmen's mom prepared a list of bullet points she wanted to cover when talking with Dave and Bill. And part of that was getting Dave to add a song to sing at her funeral.
To end the show, we were joined by Amanda Tress, founder of FASTer Way To Fat Loss and she helped get our nutrition in check to prepare for the holidays.

Today was an emotional day on The Morning Cruise as we shared some laughs and a few tears.
We started laughing right off the bat with Bill sharing some funny errors that people have made on social media. And then he shared a story from a meeting yesterday where Carmen was getting her insurance policies confused.
But she wasn't alone with embarrassing stories around insurance. In that same meeting, Bill had a serious question that got a laughter-filled response.
It took some time but Dave finally found the audio we were looking for yesterday with Bill telling Amy Grant about his first time meeting her in an elevator.
If that wasn't embarrassing enough, Dave told us what happened between Bill and Amy Grant just a month later.
Carmen was in tears after the team came in with a surprise gift for 15 years as a show. Then they spent some time celebrating with Hitch.
Haley joined Dave, Bill and Carmen to share the emotional JOY Story that was just shared on our social media pages. And then they had Haley near tears as they celebrated her birthday today.
One of the most powerful stories we've ever shared in the 15 years as a show, was when Renee Napier shared her story of forgiveness with the drunk driver who killed her daughter. That story was turned into a song by Matthew West and we actually had the opportunity to surprise Renee with a visit from Matthew.
We've gotten to know a lot of artists through the years and Luke of for King & Country has a very encouraging story.
We'll be sharing 2 more of our favorite moments and counting down the top 4 moments on tomorrow's show, but before that you don't want to miss Bill's BIG Word of the Day.

The end of October is within an arm's reach but we're not done sharing some of our favorite moments with you. And today, we started the show with a conversation on those "funky juice pools" known as your armpits.
The Atlanta Braves are within arm's reach of a World Series title. They just need to win 4 more games against the Houston Astros.
Tom Brady's arm is celebrated for his ability to throw the ball. And that was cause for celebration yesterday as he set a record for 600 passing touchdowns during his career. But that celebration was almost cut short when Mike Evans handed the ball off to a fan in the stands.
Season 3 of The Chosen is nearing their goal for being completely fundraised.
A dog got away from its owner in an unusual place...the Atlantic Ocean! But thanks to some good samaritans who reached out to not only save the dog but quickly reunite the pooch with the owner.
Carmen reached out to Josh Wilson to ask if we could play a new song of his and you reached out to let us know what you thought of it.
Bill's phone is always within his reach, but that is proving to be problematic as he has many accidental photos and screenshots in his phone album.
One lady had a close encounter of the third kind..almost...as she had a space rock land on her pillow!
Carmen's house is nearing completion on renovations.
And despite all the rhetoric around the tragic events on the movie set of Rust, we spent some time acknowledging that we need to reach out with grace towards Alec Baldwin and all those involved in the tragedy.

As people change their ways and enter retirement, many are moving to parts of our listening area, much to the chagrin of people like Dave.
When we talked about the sunrise, we got a lot of pictures from all over as the sun was rising.
Psalm 4 will help to change your perspective if you feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.
Dave told us about the possibility of a name change for social media giant, Facebook.
Several years ago, we started sharing your stories in something we called JOY Stories. In response to changing habits on the internet, Haley and Jules have teamed up to bring the JOY Stories in a different way.
Gossip in the workplace a problem for you? You'll change your ways when you hear what Ford Taylor has to say on the subject.
A lot has changed for The Morning Cruise over the last 15 years. But one mainstay has been Carmen's mom, Mohair. As we look back at some of our funniest moments, we had to share a call from Mohair who was changing up they way she wanted to have her own funeral.
And that led us to a call we got from a listener who used to live above a funeral home!
All month long, we've been reading the Book of Acts. Today we looked at Acts 21 and 22.
When it comes to the 3 different personalities on The Morning Cruise, we can credit that combination for our successes and we wouldn't want to change their ways, which we looked at when it comes to preparation this morning.

Seeing the sunrise and sunset had Carmen thinking of Lamentations 3:22-24. That had Dave giving us some insight into his decorating style.
Bill asked Carmen to look at her nails as his wife shed a little light on a problem she's been having at the nail salon.
Part of the earlier conversation on the sun rise was inspired by a conversation we had with Mac Powell which you'll be hearing in a couple of weeks.
Dave told us how one of Carmen's superstitions was caught on camera. And that wasn't the only thing that was uncovered on our social media feeds. Apparently, there was a video that had Carmen sharing her passwords!
And that Lucy-like moment had Dave telling us about the new movie looking at the spotlight around Lucille Ball and Nicole Kidman who is playing the comedienne in the new film.
Anytime we have Jules on it's almost guaranteed to be a light-hearted moment filled with laughs and that was the case this morning as she is getting ready to host a baby shower for a coworker.
And one Jags player made an incredible catch this week with the birth of his daughter at home!
Bill shed a little light on some recent studies. One on the power of "Thank You!" and the other on the differences between city folk and country folk.
And as always Bill brightened up our vocabulary with his BIG Word.

Carmen’s favorite football team has traded places in the rankings with Benji’s Georgia Bulldogs so she gave him the space to celebrate this morning.
Dave’s traded up for a new phone but he’s not so sure it’s much of an improvement on what he had.
If you were like one listener hearing all the advice we’ve been giving lately, you’ll be busy trying to keep up.
Or you may want to trade in your board game for a new version of Monopoly.
While traveling yesterday, Carmen came across something that reminded her of a story from Louie Giglio who followed his curiosity to find out where a delicate donation was headed.
Carmen’s all about the clean swaps lately and she shared a couple with you this morning as well as all the info on her new favorite chocolate bar.
Not only did we learn about a new movie coming to theatres for a one-night only showing from NEEDTOBREATHE, but we also heard new music from them as well.
Carmen would never trade places with a certain governor or his wife after hearing what they both recently had to deal with.
And if you follow us on social media, you already know that we are getting ready to trade you a t-shirt for a turkey!

When you hear a couple of our favorite stories from Chris Tomlin over the years, you may wonder what it was that had his career take a turn for the better.
After we shared a bad dating story last week, we got a message about a bad date that turned out to be good in the long run. And that reminded Carmen of her brother-in-law, aka "Cousin Eddie".
If you are into board games, Dave's got a new version of a classic for you. But we aren't sure this one took a turn for the better. He also told us about a game for movie buffs.
Bill told us about an opportunity this morning to turn the TV on and catch Riley Clemmons performing on the third hour of TODAY.
If Bob Ross makes your life better, you may want to head to Cracker Barrel.
And if you want to create some good habits and eliminate bad habits, you'll want to check out the Atomic Habits book. But if you need a summary, Hitch has done it for you!

Dave took a trip to Houston over the weekend to meet his newest grandson. He shared what that was like as he spent time with his family in Houston.
Bill took a walk last night with his wife and then tried to use an app to find Dave's flight. It didn't work.
Dave gave Bill another app to try to help identify plants
After our conversation last week with Jen Smiley, Carmen gifted Bill with some monk fruit sweetener so he can step away from his Stevia.
Carmen and Bill went to the for King & Country concert in Tampa on Saturday where they caught up with many of you and shared some face to face time.
Carmen shared a few thoughts on the question of whether or not sitting is the new smoking.
Bill took us back to 1900 to provide some historical perspective to what we might have dealt with.
Carmen shared some advice for walking alongside family members that do not identify as believers.
If you are walking with us through the Book of Acts, we are on Chapter 18.
Last week, Dave told us about a mullet competition. Today he gave us the results of that competition and then went back in time with his family as they looked at photos with Dave and his sons sporting their own mullet hairstyles.
Having girls in the family is unfamiliar territory for Dave so he asked Bill and Carmen for their thoughts on raising girls.
And Bill is learning new words and sharing them for his BIG Words this week.

Make yourself at home on today’s episode of The Morning Cruise Replay!
We started with a call to Jules who is helping Carmen get some items for her home in a roundabout way.
And then Jules told us about taking her kids to the Little White House for fall break.
Dave told us the story of one Bosnian man who took on a project for his wife to make their house spin!
And that story took Carmen back to her childhood home in Jacksonville, Alabama where there was a geodesic dome house not far down the road.
Then Carmen told us the story of Tammi and the Tilapia Farmer to then turn around and tell us another bad dating story. Let’s just say that neither Tammi or the Taco Girl are gonna be bringing these guys home to meet the parents!
Just as a home is a place of comfort, there are times we need to offer comfort to friends going through tough times. Carmen has some advice from Lysa TerKeurst on just that.
And Bill has a prayer for the girls in the dresses going to Homecoming.
And we couldn’t help but reshare one of our favorite moments from the last 15 years… a couple of phone calls to Phoebe.

You might think today's show is full of fish tales as many of the things we talked about seemed fishy. And that's probably because we started with the hilarious retelling of Tammi and the tilapia farmer.
Carmen shared that story to tell us about a bad dating story that may be even more hilarious than Tammi's story.
After we reshared our conversation with Jen Smiley on clean eating, we got one of the biggest fish in the Christian music sea to join us on Zoom in anticipation of his upcoming tour. Tauren Wells told us what it's like to be the father of four and in a brand new house while preparing for the tour.
As we continue to celebrate 15 years of The Morning Cruise, we shared a clip of Dave Barnes telling the story of another animal and his friends. We call it Dave Barnes and the Squirrel Mafia.
Cats like fish. And a lot of people like CATS, the musical. But many people panned the movie version of the hit musical. Including the playwright, Andrew Lloyd Webber, who went out and got a dog after seeing the movie version.
When Dave started to tell us that story, Bill was thinking about another animal causing problems in Argentina.
And before Bill fished out a BIG Word for us, Dave told us about a couple of kids sporting that fishy hairstyle, the mullet.

Today's show had quite the feminine presence as we went through the show today.
Bill got us started by taking a look at research on the biological differences with chores. Dave tried to separate himself from Bill on that study!
Carmen shared a powerful Instagram post from Lysa TerKeurst with some advice on helping friends through tough times.
Dave told us about a record setting collection of Coke cans and that had him reminiscing about a time when he tried to collect things. And then he asked what others collected in their younger days. We heard from one listener that had collected all 50 of the special 7UP cans from the bicentennial.
And then we heard from a woman that told us about her dad's collection that mysteriously went missing.
Bill gave us a review of The Jesus Music Movie and was surprised to learn about a concert in Lakeland that proved to be a pivotal moment for the industry. That had Carmen thinking about the time she was at her lowest and God intervened when she was at a coffee shop in Tampa. And God shined his light at the same intersection this morning for another listener.
The last hour of the show was a chat with Jen Smiley, a food expert with the Instagram account, @wakeupandreadthelabels, and she gave us some insight into what is in some of our foods.

Throughout the month of October we've been taking a long look at the Book of Acts. And that is where we started this morning. First by taking a look at chapter 12 and then looking back to chapters 10-11.
We've also been looking back at some of our favorite moments that we can remember from the 15 years that Dave, Bill and Carmen have been a part of The Morning Cruise. Today we shared a couple of hilarious phone calls to Phoebe, a server at the Pancake Pantry in Nashville.
And coincidentally, Carmen found a product in stores yesterday that she had never seen before, despite Phoebe bringing it up years ago.
Dave told Bill about a movie he thinks he'll be first in line to see since it looks at the life of one of his favorite authors, CS Lewis.
And Bill still wants to go to the theatre to see The Jesus Music movie.
Carmen and family went to a restaurant for Pete's birthday last night and she is sensing that she is getting older since she had a hard time looking at the menu.
And she's looking forward to an interview after the show with food expert, Jen Smiley.
At first look, you might be confused by the latest product collaboration, but it turns out that Cracker Jack Pepsi is surprisingly good.
Looking for something we talked about on the show? Check out themorningcruise.com.
Bill had us all taking a look at 1 John 1:5-7 this morning.
And while Carmen and Dave didn't enjoy watching their teams play this past weekend, Carmen did take the opportunity to congratulate UGA on their season so far.

It's Monday and we hit the ground running with all sorts of things to share with you today on The Morning Cruise.
Dave's oldest son is now a father after his son, Sutton was born late last week. The Rays and Braves have a postseason run that they are trying to keep intact.
For those running to the altar, Carmen has some wedding trends to let you know about.
As a show, we've been running together for 15 years. And along the way, we've had at least 15 moments that are so memorable we are sharing them again.
Carmen ran to get her notebook to write down a quote from A W Tozer that her Pastor shared yesterday.
And if she could, she would run to Nashville to catch Paige Brown giving one of her Bible Study talks.
Bill got out of a slump and went for a run to break in some new shoes and a new playlist.
And we'll all be running for those not free to run...yet...in February with Team Freedom and you can join us!
Carmen will be running home today to get ready for dinner out with the fam to celebrate her husband's birthday.
One9-year-old doesn't have to run to school anymore now that he's the proud winner of a Tesla Model 3.
And Carmen went running to the bathroom to check for wildlife after she heard a story from Dave.

It's been a wild and fun week here on The Morning Cruise. In the early part of today's show, we reshared our conversation with Mike Donehey. After that, we ventured into a few different territories.
Wendy's has a new cereal offering that had Dave talking and then Carmen came back with a healthy alternative, much to Dave's chagrin.
As we celebrate 15 years, we're sharing some of our favorite moments and we would be remiss if we didn't include Steven Curtis Chapman's wildly hilarious story of Rafting on the Nile River.
Carmen's Bible Study on Elijah recently had the focus of Elijah in the wilderness.
In the great outdoors, there's been a competition to name the fattest bear going into the hibernation season. And we have a winner!
Carmen made a wild discovery after seeing a costar of Francesca Battistelli in an upcoming new movie.
And Bill wrapped it all up with his BIG Word of the Day.

We hope today's content was compelling for you! We shared one of our favorite moments from the last 15 years when we had Matthew West and he provided compelling content in the form of a song. And that moment led to an uncomfortable moment that Dave shared this morning when he was surprised by Bill and Carmen in front of an industry heavyweight.
Carmen almost threw away a piece of mail but something compelled her to open it and she found $5!
Bill felt like the text line was a little quiet so he asked if there was anyone compelled enough to send in a pic and just say hi. And many of you responded, including one listener from Paris, France and another from Kenya!
As we've read through Acts, we've certainly been compelled by the content in this New Testament book. Today, we looked at Chapter 7.
We're all on baby watch as Dave's oldest son and his wife are currently at the hospital to be induced into labor.
And Bill may have been surprised by the timing of his BIG Word, so he went with an obvious choice for today.

The historical record in the Book of Acts is our focus in the month of October. Today we looked at Chapter 6.
Dave wants to be in the Guinness Book of World Records after seeing one man's recent record.
We recently caught up with Marlena, a 30 Wishes recipient and we went back in the recording archives to revisit the wish she was granted.
That led us to share another great moment from the show when Big Daddy Weave shared their weigh station story. We'll be sharing more moments as we just celebrated the show's 15th' anniversary.
A whistleblower at Facebook went on the record recently to share some very surprising news about the behind-the-scenes work at the social media giant. And that has uncovered some data on "Christian" Facebook pages that are being run by troll farms in Eastern Europe.
William Shatner may set a record as the oldest man in space, when the former Star Trek Captain takes a 15 minute ride to a place where few have ventured before.
Bill had Dave set the record straight for him with a question on bike seats.

In Part 1, we were all about brains and brawn. Carmen cleared up some things about brain fog for us. Bill had some helpful tips for guys when it comes to cologne. Carmen shared her latest nail color. And then we turned the corner back to the Book of Acts as Dave shared some insight on Chapter 5.
Carmen caught the rest of the Bucs and Patriots game on her DVR last night and then she schooled us on the history of football, which got us thinking about our own history.

We're all beat after last night's game featuring Bucs QB Tom Brady in his return to New England. From one GOAT to another, Carmen shared that Chris Tomlin is working on a new record.
Have you been keeping the beat and reading the Book of Acts along with us in these first four days of the month. Carmen has been beating the drum for all the messages from Paige Brown in her Bible Study on Romans.
Dave's family is adding another heartbeat with the addition of their third grandson, who could be born by the end of the week.
Are you feeling beat up by all the things you read on social media? Carmen shared some of the insight from a whistleblower at Facebook that was interviewed on 60 Minutes last night.
For her milestone birthday, Bill's wife, Kimberly, had the family enjoying a long weekend in the panhandle and playing a few games.
And speaking of games, Carmen had some recommendations for family game night.
Dave had Carmen and Bill playing a guessing game and they were playing a game they couldn't win on a question about Fender guitars.
Drums in church is a relatively new phenomenon. But a lot of Christian musicians have made a name for themselves over the years and many of your favorite artists are featured in The Jesus Music movie which opened in theatres this past weekend.
And Bill was beating himself up with his BIG Word of the Day.

As today is the first of October, we are kicking off our reading of the Book of Acts this month. Join along with us as we read the first 3 chapters this weekend.
And when we talk about action in Vegas, it's usually concerned with other things and not the type of story that Dave shared from there.
As we get into the Book of Acts, Bill shared a lesson that his Pastor shared in a sermon recently on the 5 Friends we should all have.
Bill and Jules have a little competition going on to keep each other motivated to stay active. Jules talked about how she is winning this game.
Carmen is needing to get back on the wagon with staying active.
And the act of compassion is easier said than done for many. Bill shared a thought on Jonah and compassion before the final act of the show, his BIG Word.

We packed a lot of stuff into today's show, and we had some unpacking to do as well.
Ever since she brought it up, Carmen's DM's have been filled with info on jackfruit!
The next time you go to the store for grapes, you might want to try the cotton candy flavored variety that Dave describes.
Movie theatres across the country could be packed with believer checking out The Jesus Music movie tomorrow night.
Carmen met with her group last night to begin unpacking all there is to learn about the Book of Elijah.
And we'll all be unpacking the lessons from the Book of Acts throughout the month of October.
When Jules was in town for Sharathon last week, her daughter at home was dealing with anxiety which can often feel like a heavy load to carry.
Bill is going on a weekend trip to the beach. But he's overpacked and underprepared.
Taco Bell has begun a recycling program for their sauce packets.
Carmen sent her husband to the store for a pack of pumpkin bread mix that she highly recommends.
And Bill used a little leverage to unpack his BIG Word of the Day.

Today, we welcomed Riley Clemmons for the second time as she shared music from her sophomore album, Godsend.
But before she joined Dave, Bill and Carmen, we heard from Carmen about the Bible Study she'll be doing tonight with her group, Elijah by Priscilla Shirer.
Dave told us how some companies are facing the possibilities of changing technologies.
Bill is getting ready for a trip with his wife and kids and is just about ready to bring the whole kitchen with him.
Riley Clemmons has a special talent that she shared as soon as she sat down with us to share her new music.

Last week's Sharathon was definitely one for the history books as we not only met our goal, but exceeded it. And, we did it with hours to spare!
And time is definitely flying as we are now officially in Fall...or Autumn...
Carmen shared some of the highlights from yesterday's message delivered by Pastor Aaron Burke of Radiant Church in Tampa.
This weekend's football games, college and pro, were definitely history in the making, and there is more history to be made next week for Tom Brady.
Apple announced some changes to their devices last week and some of it has an impact on your exercise data!
Tomorrow, we'll have the guys from Apollo LTD in the studio for the first time, to learn a little about their history.
Ramen Noodles is celebrating their history with an unusual product for their 50th anniversary.
You'll wanna watch Paige Brown's message from last week on sanctification before it is history!

Carmen kicked off the show today asking a question about who you admire. Her answer was Paige Brown who she can't wait to see what she does in her weekly Bible Study of Romans each week.
The instant access we get because of technology turned out to be a good thing as Carmen didn't have to wait long to actually have a conversation with Jen Smiley, a health food expert (@wakeupandreadthelabel) who she's recently started following.
We can't wait for Sharathon next week. But we had to wait and see if you could prove Carmen right.
Bill told us how Waiting is Good News!
Movie studios have made news recently for pushing back the release dates of some upcoming films. But there's one movie that will be released earlier than expected and Dave can't wait to see it...with or without his granddaughter!
Bill is anxious to meet his first grandchild but he's already nervous about the possibility of having to share a cup with the baby.
Carmen had issued a challenge for you to give towards Sharathon. We didn't have to wait too long before we found out that you not only met the goal but exceeded it!
And with football happening this weekend, we're excited to see which coaches heard Bill's BIG Word of the Day.

Bill has been leading a women's Bible Study here at the office with some coworkers and he gave us the scoop on the last chapter of the book they read, Identity Theft. There's a new version of Believe For It, featuring a guest appearance by Lauren Daigle.
Whenever Carmen talks about some healthy food options, you want the scoop on where to find it. And today she shared 4 foods that cause inflammation.
There's a commercial for Geico that has people reminiscing and a little hungry for a scoop of ice cream. So Scoop, There It Is is now a real thing!
What's Sharathon? Bill's got the details for you today.
History was made last night as Bill told us about the latest mission to space, which was news to Carmen.
Dave's got a couple of dilemmas, one home-grown, the other created by Carmen.
We caught up with Mac Powell, to get the scoop on his debut solo album, New Creation.
And Bill gave us some food for thought with his BIG Word of the Day.

Listening to today's show might cause you to look at the calendar to see what day it is. Carmen started us off by looking ahead to Christmas.
And we've been looking forward to next week with the start of Sharathon. Which may be a bit of a conflict for Bill and his new fascination with Fat Bear Week.
You may want to adjust your calendar and fit in some time for travel after hearing the benefits that Dave found in one study.
Clearing things off of your schedule can prove to be difficult with social media being such a distraction. But the dangers of using Facebook and Instagram are far greater for teen girls than many realize. And it doesn't just apply to teen girls.
And the mundane that fills up our calendar can cause us to wonder if it really matters. Bill has the answer to that question from a blog post at wellwateredwomen.com.
Dave's granddaughter is living in the moment with her fascination towards caterpillars.
And we got a sneak peek of new music coming later this week from TobyMac, courtesy of Dave.
All the studies and time we spent with you this morning has Bill thinking a lot about his BIG Word.

46:22 Bill's BIG Word
Dave's got a new app to learn after having to replace his garage door. Bill's got a documentary series to share lessons in history with his sons, especially in light of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. With our parody of Fancy Like, a few of the guys around the office had to learn the dance for Givin' Like. And in that video, one eagle-eyed viewer trained their eyes on the background in Carmen's office.
Ever wonder if cows could be potty trained? Wonder no more! A recent study found that it is possible. Dave told us about and we had a few laughs, especially when we heard from one caller who has trained a goat and some ducks.
We've all got a lot to learn. And for Gen Z, it can feel like a lot. So Carmen shared a letter she found on Instagram from a Texas pastor, Jonathan Pokluda.
The Sharathon train will be pulling through next week and it's your chance to jump aboard with us.
For a new believer, a lesson in prayer usually starts with The Lord's Prayer. Bill told us how that prayer can help in our prayer struggles and Carmen taught us on how to fight the enemy's strategies.
And as always, Professor Martin, finished the show with a BIG Word for those that show interest in that sort of thing.

Bill's got a lot of Bible passages on his mind lately and he shared a few of them to get our week started. Dave had a bit of trouble getting started this morning as he had a jam-packed weekend.
Carmen and Pete's minds were not on the same page when it came to grout. She asked if anyone else had a disagreement with their spouse and you answered...big time!
Sharathon is on our minds as it it one week away!
Dave watched a show on the SEC Network that had him thinking about his days growing up in Louisiana.
The tragic events of 9/11 were on the minds of all of us this weekend as stories were told commemorating the 20th anniversary.
Carmen shared a few pieces of wisdom from the mind of Paige Brown after her first week of teaching on the Book of Romans
We followed up with our friend, Maria, as she continues to fill her mind towards a Master's degree.
Carmen couldn't make up her mind when it came to who to cheer for in the Dolphins and Patriots game.
Hearing We The Kingdom made us think about their song, Dancing On The Waves, which is now available as a radio single.
One particular song from Chris Tomlin had Dave thinking of a Dad Joke.
Bill's got a lot on his mind when it comes to projects so he's planning on implementing the one-minute rule.
Driving a car with your mind? Dave tells us how Mercedes-Benz is working to make that a reality.
And that had Bill thinking about his BIG Word.

This weekend as we commemorate the 20th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, we took time to reflect today on the tragedy and share our timeline of the events that unfolded that day.
We also shared more of our conversation with Crowder on his new album, Milk & Honey.
And Dave's got a busy weekend as he'll be heading to Jacksonville to watch Juan DeVevo of Casting Crowns at a comedy show and he's got a granddaughter's birthday and the first game of LSU's college football season to catch.

On today's show, we had plenty to laugh about and a few tears as well.
Anytime we chat with Crowder, we know that laughs will be plentiful and that was definitely the case as we sat down with him to discuss his new album, Milk & Honey.
As we prepare for the 20th anniversary of 9/11 this weekend, Bill shared a resource to help you talk to your kids about the tragic day in our history.
Casting Crowns new song, Scars In Heaven, has connected with many that have experienced the loss of a loved one in their life. Recently, the band lost a former member and the song has helped them walk through that valley as Juan Devevo told us.
Juan will be hosting a night filled with laughter tomorrow as he hosts the Dirigible Anvil Comedy Show at Murray Hill Theatre in Jacksonville tomorrow.
And the person Bill talks about in his BIG Word will have many memories of laughter and tears for sure.

While he's known for throwing, Tom Brady has had a long run in the NFL as a quarterback. His jersey is a bestseller and we've got a couple of Bucs jerseys to give away today.
Blue's Clues has had a long run of 25 years on Nick Jr. and to celebrate they brought back Steve with a message that brought some closure for many millenials.
Bill's got a running dilemma of his own as he prepares for the Gasparilla Distance Classic with Team Freedom. But it was a hockey great that provided a little inspiration for the runner in Bill.
When Bill brought up a product on the show a couple of weeks ago, Carmen ran to her computer and ordered some of the highly sought after Pumpkin Spice Toilet Paper. She surprised Dave and Bill with a roll each and they were disappointed to say the least.
Crowder has had a long run in his musical career and spanning a wide variety of genres. We'll be talking more with him tomorrow on his latest project. But what do Crowder and Tom Selleck have in common besides their facial hair? Carmen has the details for you.
We'll be running to our computers later today to watch Paige Brown's first message on Romans in her Fall Bible Study.
Bill shared a list of the top cities for running and Carmen kicked off her jersey contest on Instagram.
The JOY FM has had a long run on the air thanks to your support. And for awhile now, we've been sharing parody songs for Sharathons and Friendraisers. We've got so many now, we could do a Greatest Hits album.
And it took Bill a little longer than usual to tell us about his BIG Word today.

There's a lot to like on today's episode of The Morning Cruise Replay. But Dave and Carmen did not like the timing of Bill's conversation on bed bugs.
Carmen liked going through the Bible in One Year so much that she's doing it again. She shared what she heard about Solomon in her devotional time yesterday.
Dave does not like shopping at all. So imagine how much fun he had furniture shopping yesterday.
Despite the loss for FSU football, there was a lot to like about McKenzie Milton's return to the gridiron and a beautiful tribute at halftime from the marching band for Bobby Bowden.
Carmen was a little out of sorts on Saturday to wach her Alabama Crimson Tide play their first game of the year, so she called on Haley to come over and get it just right for her.
If you like Sharathon, you'll be excited to hear that it's 2 weeks away from today. And to celebrate, we debuted a song, 'Givin' Like' with our take on the viral hit, 'Fancy Like'.
If you like a good women's Bible Study, we've got a couple of options. First, there's a book that Bill has been leading a women's group through here at the office. And starting tomorrow, Paige Brown will be teaching on the Book of Romans for her Fall Bible Study sessions on Wednesdays.
There's something about this time of year, that has Dave feeling like it's time for Christmas lights.
Bill likes to have family time, but was surprised to have his son Adam bring his laundry over to his house.
If you get confused with words that sound like other words, Bill plans to clear it up for you with his BIG Words this week.
