Leonard Marshall started off talking about his admiration of former AFL star DT Ernie Ladd, who it turns out was married to Leonard's second cousin. We also get his thoughts on the Giants hiring Bryan Cox as a new Assistant Defensive Line Coach, what the Giants need to do in order to compete for an NFC East Division title, why LSU had to fire Head Coach Ed Orgeron, and why Leonard isn't in the Giants Ring of Honor.
We wrapped up our season Prognostication Championship with Tony Collins this week. Tony fell just short, being caught from behind by Bob for this year's title after Tony went with the Bengals in the Super Bowl.
Mike Pritchard shared his thoughts on the Super Bowl and what makes Cooper Kupp such a great WR. He also shares his insights on the Raiders season, and how fragile success is in the NFL.
Mark Collins talked about his memories of winning 2 Super Bowls with the Giants in 1986 & 1990. Mark also talked about what it was like dealing with the extended half-times in Super Bowls, what has driven him to be successful in college, the NFL, and broadcasting. We also get some happy memories of his block that sprung George Martin's 75 yard pick-six against Denver and his own 78 yard pick-six against former teammate Jeff Hostetler when Mark was in Kansas City and Jeff was with the Raiders.
Vance McDonald rounded out the show. We talked with Vance about how he ended up playing his college ball at Rice. We also hear about his day as a long snapper, and what it was like being drafted by the 49ers as they were coming off the loss to the Ravens in the Super Bowl. Vance also the story of when he found out he was traded to the Steelers, the Steelers/Ravens rivalry, his legendary stiff arm on the Bucs Chris Conte, and why he walked away from the game at age 31.
Rocky was the 2nd ever guest on this show back in September of 2011 and he's been a wonderful guest and friend ever since. He talks about rekindling the Super Bowl memories every year at this time. We hear about the miserable weather conditions they played in during the 1979 AFC Championship Game against the Houston Oilers. We talk about how the Rams in '79 were actually the first team to have home-field advantage in the Super Bowl back in 1980. They played their home games in the LA Colisseum which was 30 minutes from the Rose Bowl, site of Super Bowl XIV. In that game, the Rams not only had home-field advantage, they also had 3 former Steelers coaches on their staff. Rocky talks about having to face the coaches that knew them well. We also hear about the TD he scored in Super Bowl XIII that came on a broken play, plus Terry Bradshaw's disdain for short passes.

Andy & Jordan Dalton and their foundation for paid it forward to the 17,000 Buffalo Bills fans who donated $450,000 to their foundation following the Bengals last second victory last season over the Ravens which allowed the Bills to make the playoffs for the first time in 17 seasons. They donated the money to the Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo.

Denny McLain took us back to 1968 when he won 31 games. He shared the story of the night he won #30 game and having Dizzy Dean there to congratulate him. Dizzy was the last guy to win 30 in a season back in 1934. He also talked about his very first Major League start for the Tigers. It came against the Chicago White Sox who had given up on him. Denny not only won the game, he pitched a complete game and hit a homerun. It doesn’t get better than that.

Ryan Chistopher and Vic White play in a touring Journey cover band called Resurrection (www.notjourney.com), and they are awesome! They sound exactly like Journey. If you close your eyes and just listen it’s 1983 all over again. You absolutely cannot tell the difference. Ryan’s voice sounds exactly like Steve Perry. The entire band is spot on. They played live in Calhoun, Georgia last night as part of their current tour. We saw them live and they nailed it. I (Chris) am a life long Journey fan. I’ve seen them in concert over a dozen times and I am straight up serious when I say you cannot tell the differnce. We talked about how and why they formed the band plus we got in a little football as well. Vic is a Steelers and South Carolina fan while Ryan is focused on Clemson. They are great time and we had a great time talking to these guys!

We had the privilege of spending some time with Bill Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly just days before he was originally diagnosed with cancer in 2015. What you’ll hear here is him talking about why he chose to play his college ball at the University Miami when he grew up wanting to play at Penn State. You’ll also hear why he originally chose the USFL’s Houston Gamblers over the Buffalo Bills, the success he had in Houston and ultimately falling in love with the Bills fans and the pride he has in the accomplishment of playing in 4 straight Super Bowls.

Will Blackwell shared memories from his time playing in college at San Diego State. He teamed with Az Hakim and George Jones and together they became the first WR/RB trio to all top 1,000 yards in a season. He talked about what his draft day was like plus getting to play with Jerome Bettis in Pittsburgh.

Doug Nettles played for the Colts back in the mid 1970’s. They went to the playoff from 1975-1977 led by Bert Jones, Lydell Mitchell, Roger Carr, and a storng defense led by Mike Curtis. He said Mike Curtis was as crazy as legend has it and shared some of those stories including how O.J. Simpson didn’t start games against them because he wanted Curtis to be winded before he would come into games.
Craig Wolfley shared great insights into the gaps the Steelers need to fill this off season. He shared specific thoughts on their recent top draft choices, Bud Dupree, Artie Burns and Sean Davis. He also shared memories of playing in Terry Bradshaw’s last game, a game which also closed down Shea Stadium.
Brian Finneran played his college ball at Villanova and he said his thoughts on Villanova basketball, what it was like winning the FCS Division 1-AA Walter Payton award, that division’s version of the Heisman Trophy, and being inducted into the Villanova Hall of Fame. Brian also shared his insights on the Falcons and if they can get back to where they were in 2016.
