We often think God can use us best when we are strong, capable, and confident. But in 2 Corinthians 12, Paul reveals a surprising truth: some of God’s greatest work in our lives happens through our weakness.Paul had experienced extraordinary spiritual privileges, yet God allowed him to endure a painful “thorn in the flesh” that kept him humble and dependent. Born to atheist parents, Akiane grew up in a home that didn’t talk about God. Yet, at four years old, she began to talk about God. Soon after, she began to paint earthly and heavenly subjects. At eight, she painted Jesus (a print of which is in our church). By the time she was a young woman, everyone in her family was saved. God had given her two gifts, a talent for art, and salvation. We may not be talented artists like Akiane, but we can all receive God’s gift of grace.
