It had been a while since the Cephalons last spoke about Warframe, so they decided to do it again - for old times' sake. This special, once-off episode covers what the Cephalons have been getting up to over the last couple of years, as well as their thoughts on the major Warframe updates since the last episode...

After 150 main episodes spanning a period of 3 years and 2 months, Cephalon Squared's Warframe podcast is finally coming to an end.

In this final episode, the Cephalons discuss endgame warfames and companions, based on feedback from their Discord community, followed by heartfelt thank yous as the show winds down. Before to stick around until the end for a silly surprise, as should be expected from the guys.

Thank you to all of you for listening over the years, we really appreciate your support. In fact, we couldn't have done it without you.

Well, it's the penultimate episode of Cephalon Squared, and not only are we continuing our Endgame discussion with Melee weapons this week, but we also bring you our thoughts on Devstream 156! Bonus!

Stick around for the big finale in a couple of weeks (and note that we may record from time to time after big announcements/releases).

Only 3 more episodes to go, but this week, we've continued our endgame focus, with a discussion about endgame-viable secondary weapons, based on feedback from our Discord community!

While there wasn't a whole lot of news on the Warframe front this time around, it's an important episode for Cephalon Squared news. We encourage you to listen.

In addition, we asked our community for their opinions on viable endgame primary weapons - and we share them all in this episode! If you're struggling with Steel Path, this might be for you!

For Warframe players, TennoCon is the best time of year -- it's like Christmas. It's when we all get together to share our love of the game and see what big things are next in store fr us.

And this year was no different, except maybe that the two things that were shown off were maybe the most anticipated pieces of Warframe content ever. So that's a thing.

So whether you caught the panels or not, grab a snack, sit back, and listen to our overview of TennoCon 2021. And get excited, Tenno - big things are coming.

Finally, the Sisters of Parvos update has seen fit to grace our servers, and what an update it is. Not only does it bring the Sisters themselves, and a whole raft of weapons, but there's a brand new Warframe in there and a major weapon rebalance.

Listen to hear our thoughts, and we'll see you again next week for our TennoCon follow-up.

Coming in only a couple of days later than DE had suggested, the weapons workshop hit, and brought with it some other workshop announcements - changes are also incoming for the Parazon and Helminth Abilities.

There was a lot to go over, but hopefully we can help clarify all of the changes that are coming. And they are coming soon - all of the changes are expected as part of the forthcoming Sisters of Parvos update!

With only a few short weeks until TennoCon, this week we were treated to a final Devstream before the big show! From now, the team will go internal to work on what they plan to show off, but before then, there's still plenty to be excited about, such as an upciming weapons rework, and the Sisters of Parvos release...

As this was an in-between week, we decided to discuss a topic that popped up on a YouTube Channel via TheDsIEGE. This video discusses the Guardian Games in Destiny, and how we should perhaps have something similar in Warframe.

We thought it was a great idea, but had some different ideas about what to implement. This was a lot of fun - have a listen, and let us know your thoughts in our Discord or via Social Networks!

It's been a few weeks since our last episode, but boy - the wait was worth it. Well... we think it was at least. The news was thin over the last few weeks, but just recently, Update 30: Call of the Tempestarii, dropped on all platforms.

And if that's not something worth talking about, then I don't know what is.

And in all honesty, there was a lot to unpack. Join us as we share our thoughts - and we'll see you again in a couple of weeks!

Hey, Hey! End of the month, time for a new Devstream, and you know what that means? Yep, our little Warframe Podcast is gonna follow that right up!

This week's Devstream was exactly what was expected, and not much more - a little detail on what we should expect to see in April. But a whole bunch of stuff was shown off, and a truckload of player questions answered, so it was well worth the wait.

Almost 2 months in to 2021 already - can you believe it? Well, next week brings a new Devstream, so get excited!

This week, though, saw an error in the Nightwave rewards, which meant that players could get their hands on an Arcane Helmet, which haven't been seen in-game for several years now. As a result, we decided it was a good discussion topic - to help new players understand where they fit into the game and discuss whether or not they are still worthwhile!

Have you ever thought about the Dojo, and how - apart from trading and the labs - there's little point in visiting? Well, we have, as did a few of our Discord users. And out of that little discussion came a few great ideas to try to bring players back to the Dojo on a more regular basis.

Not what you were thinking? Send us your thoughts!

Oh, and we've made the decision to cut Beginner and Advanced topics from today - they were getting hard to think of, plus, we can add more tips into the rest of the content!

The year is ticking along quickly - we're almost into February already! This week, a YouTube video caught our eye and inspired us to discuss the current state of Warframe as it stands in January 2021. Yes, it's a little negative, but we try to keep an open mind as we look at the direction the game has taken in recent months and years.

Oh... and beginner and advanced topics are BACK (beginner: soloing warframe; advanced: railjack damage types).

Another week, another fantastic Warframe podcast - promise!

Given it's still early in the New Year, there's little news to cover, so the Cephalons thought they'd tackle something completely new (at least... to them) - discussing other games and how they might compare to Warframe. Think of it as a way for us to provide you, fair listener, with some alternative options to keep you going during any downtime you might come across... Before inevitably returning to Warframe, of course.

Whaaaaat? It's the last episode of the year already? In some ways... thank the gods, but in other ways... the last few weeks just flew by... but here we are!

It's been a busy week for one and all, not the least of which being the very last Devstream for 2020! DE finished off the year by showing off certain aspects of a new Operation that was released only days later, plus some big teases for major new content set to hit early in 2021.

And it's all really good stuff. Get your good headphones for this one, Tenno.

We are so close to the end of the year now, and while we do know there will be some new content coming to Warframe before the year is up, we also know that things are starting to go very very quiet...

So we're cracking out the specials! It's been a while since we did an episode like this, but this whole episode is dedicated to talking about... Eidolons! With particular focus on how to fight the Teralyst for absolute beginners.

Plus of course beginner and advanced topics and all the usual shenanigans, this is the place to be for Warframe stuff and things.

As the days tick down inexorably towards the end of 2020, Warframe continues, unabated. This week saw the streaming of another Home Devstream for the year - another one filmed from home, marking more time spent developing such a hefty title as Warframe from the confines and restrictions of the home environment.

But as Home Devstream #9 has shown us, 2020 isn't quite over yet - DE still has some plans up their sleeves. Of course, the major expansion that many were hoping for - namely the Corpus Railjack and Lich system expansions - have been pushed back into 2021, which is probably a blessing. That said, there's still content to be excited for, and at least one final Devstream, before the year's end.

So join us as we discuss what was shown off on what was actually a sound team focused stream - and there was plenty to enjoy here.

If you've read the title, then you'll already know that there was a Devstream this week. However, what you won't know is that it was MASSIVE.

Absolutely chock full of incredible news and updates on new content coming to Warframe. Of course, Deimos Arcana isn't too far away, but there were some teases for content coming after as well... With just over 10 weeks left in 2020, the Cephalons decided to have a chat about the three things we know are coming to Warframe players within 2020 - Nights of Naberus, the completion of the current Nightwave series, and Deimos Arcana.

It's been a few weeks since the last Devstream, and - perhaps more importantly - there are only 11 weeks left in 2020! On one hand... thank whatever deity it is that you believe in, but on the other... well, there's not much time left in the year, and we don't quite know what's going on within this game that we love so dearly.

Well, DE has come to the rescue with Home Devstream #7. While we still don't know if we should expect any large drops before the end of the year, we do know there are several things coming to the game over the next few weeks, and that's fantastic. Given there was another down week between Devstreams, the Cephalons decided to have a discussion around a recent change to Mag's Magnetise Ability. There was a secret Devstream this week! Well, OK, it wasn't secret, we just didn't know about it until it happened. We went deep into the data, so check it out if you want to know more about that system.

That does, of course, mean that we don't have beginner and advanced topics this week, but we do have all the usual fun, games, and banter. Check it out.

Warframe is not for the faint of heart - there is so much content within that many players would pale in the face of its complexity. But, as most fans would know, come to understand that complexity and there is a wealth of fun to explore at your own leisure.

However, this can be a double-edged sword - without a level of simplicity and approachability for new players, some may find Warframe far too confusing and overwhelming in what it has to offer. With Railjack and a third open-world recently added to an already hugely complex game, is Warframe verging on alienating new players by way of feature creep?

In this episode, we take a light-hearted look at this topic, among all of our regular shenanigans, including beginner and advanced topics!

A quiet week in terms of news, as the team at DE looks towards hotfixes - plus, there was a long weekend in Canada. This gives us a good opportunity to review our opinions on Heart of Deimos, now that we've had a good go at it.

Unsurprisingly, we're still having fun, but there are a few things that are beginning to annoy us here and there...

Oh, and we start giving tips on Heart of Deimos content!

View Details

From quiet weeks to DOUBLE DISCUSSIONS! Yes, this week, not only are we covering the new Heart of Deimos release, but there was also a Home Devstream! While it was a shorted Devstream, there was still plenty of good info to cover, so we talked about both... And we certainly do have a lot to say - Heart of Deimos is a great update.

View Details

We're getting very excited now! Only a few more days to wait until Heart of Deimos hits ALL platforms. It's a great time to be playing Warframe - and as of the 25th, it's also a great time to start playing, as there will be a whole new introduction and tutorial!

Anyway, TennoGen Round 19 was announced this week, so we decided to try something new - which we are calling TennoGen Runway. With just over a week and a half left until the release of Heart of Deimos, every Warframe fan worth their salt is thinking hard about what the new Helminth System will mean for the state of Warframe moving int the future. Another year, another TennoCon! This year was a little different, with the team stuck in lockdown at home, it's not so easy to develop a large-scale video game like Warframe. Nor is it easy to put on a fan conference. But I'd have to say, with TennoCon 2020, Digital Extremes has smashed it out of the park.

More downtime before TennoCon means nothing super new to discuss - apart from the release of the Steel Path. But this time, we decided to grab the NotCultGuy, a member of our Discord moderation team, for a bit of a chat about why he is now a bit of a lapsed Warframe player - and what it might take to get him to come back.

Among other things, of course. It wouldn't be an episode of Cephalon Squared if we didn't end up talking about something off-topic!

Unlike recent weeks, there was a bit of news to cover this week, as well as an impromptu Home Devstream that provided some details on the forthcoming "Steel Path" addition to Warframe. It's an absolutely humbling honour to reach that with an audience that seems to appreciate what we do. So thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts.

This episode is slightly different from usual - it's long, for one, but we really just had a bunch of fun and invited some of our mods to join us. But it was for you just as much as it was for us, so we covered most of the expected stuff!

Yeehah - DE has delivered on last week's promise of revisions to Railjack, and from first impressions, we are impressed! A few weeks without a Devstream... and DE drops a new one on us. This time around, the regular merry crew all join (from their home offices, of course), but the amount of content shown off was incredible.

With news that the next Warframe, Protea, will be a reward for the next Corpus-themed Operation, the Cephalons discuss their thoughts on this. Whatever happened to Warframe quests, and how do they feel now that it looks like we won't be getting more of these kinds of quests anytime soon?

In addition, Cephalon Squared now has a clan emblem in the game! So with that excitement, we discuss emblems, sigils, and glyphs in the beginner topic, and Cephalon Lucas tackles TWO topics this week for Advanced tips!

Get on it!

New Year, New Logo - same old Cephalon Squared! Yes, this week we have a gorgeous new podcast logo, which also means a sexy new emblem for clan members in-game, and, one day... a glyph! Slowly, slowly, good people. Thank you so much to Debby Sheen (@debbysheen_ on Twitter) for her fantastic work - we are blown away by it.

And not only that, but we were blown away by this week's Devstream as well! It was a little different, but the team showed off a bunch of new stuff, plus there were some very worthwhile announcements...

Check it out...

The Lich changes that were teased last week were released this week, for better or worse. We welcome Mothhop, a longtime member of the Cephalon Collective, to join us to discuss our thoughts on the new changes, both good and bad. Check it out.

Zephyr - the wind frame. Old windy. Breezeface. Whatever you want to call her, she's all about the wind. And better still? Cephalon Lucas absolutely adores her. Probably best you listen to this one to find out why.

Also... this is our last Mini for a little while. We will spit them out from time to time to cover new frames, but from now on it's the main episodes, and the Lorecasts! Hope you enjoyed our mini series!

Another Devstream, and so another episode chock full of info on upcoming updates to Warframe. The team at DE really went above and beyond this time, with a bunch of rapid-fire announcements and demonstrations one after another. It was a great Devstream, and definitely worth checking in on. If you want to hear our thoughts on what was shown off - have a listen! We had a great old chat this week, plus we covered some great topics with our beginner and advanced tips.

Another quiet week in the world of Warframe... This week, Cephalon's Greg and Lucas decided to have a chat about the current status of the game - what's missing from Warframe in 2020?

Beginner topic: Defeating the first four Planetary bosses.

Advanced topic: Conservation

The team is well and truly back for 2020 - not only has there been a bunch of hotfixes released for PC, but the team got together for the first Devstream of 2020, followed by a 3-hour celebration! It was quite a time (that we were unable to watch in full), but of course we have an overview of the Devstream for you!

Wisp - the ethereal ghost. With Abilities like this, who needs friends? Wisp arrived with The Jovian Concord update and very quickly asserted herself as one of the best frames in the entire game. If you don't have her yet, you should probably look to fix that. Listen in to find out why.

We hit 100 reviews on iTunes and other platforms, so as promised, we have our second live Streamcast! This one was streamed live on Twitch, so please forgive any strange edits (I tried to cut out any references that required video) or sounds! This was an Ask Us Anything stream, so we had fun with viewer questions, and we were joined by one of our Moderators - the illustrious Doug. Have a listen - it was an absolute blast.

Thus was supposed to be a mini podcast, but as you can see, it didn't turn out that mini. But it's well worthwhile!

In December, we ran a survey of members of the Cephalon Squared community, and in this first mini of 2020, we decided to go over that feedback, and share it with you, the listener. So if you'd like to hear what other members of the community had to tell us, as well as our responses to this feedback, have a listen! You might be surprised by some of the changes we have in store.

Thanks for your support to date - here's to 2020 and beyond!

Given it's the first week of the new year, I'm surprised there was any news at all. Come to think of it... there wasn't really super newsworthy, but there was an announcement or two. Given the quiet time of the year, and our overview of the year's content last week, we decided to provide DE with some constructive criticism this week - a little feedback for how we think the game could be improved.

In addition, we also provide a Beginner and Advanced topic roundup, which we do every 25 episodes or so!

It's... oh... so... quiet! Christmas has come and gone, but 2020 looms upon us larger than ever, and so it was a quiet week in the world of Warframe.

But that doesn't mean the Cephalons get nothing done - hell no! This week, we take a good look at all the content that was released this year, and present our overall thoughts regarding 2019. In addition, we continue our Railjack tips, with both our Beginner and Advanced topics once again touching on aspects of this major new expansion.

With the end of the year looming, Digital Extremes took to the iknterwebs for one last Devstream to close out the year. Devstream was light on any major news, but heavy on acknowledging player feedback. This Devstream was mainly a deep dive into Empyrean and what ti took to get the new expansion released onto (almost) every platform prior to Christmas.

With the team now on holidays, expect a quiet couple of weeks, but we'll stil be here talking all things Warframe!

Vauban - the great engineer. The mighty tactician. He had some trouble with popularity for a while there, but a rework in The Old Blod update saw his toolkit evolve into something that better suited the modern game.

Do we recommend you try out the new Vauban? I guess you'll have to listen to find out!

View Details

Wow... what a week! There was plenty of news dropped, as you would expect in the run-up to Christmas, but Digital Extremes took it all one step further and surprised us all by dropping Empyrean on PC during their announcement at The Game Awards! Plus, they dropped Rising Tide on consoles as well!

Thus, this week's episode is all about Empyrean - the good, the bad, the ugly. We've played it A LOT, so we have lots to say, including beginner and advanced topics all about Empyrean. We hope you're as excited as we are.

View Details

Titania, the Queen of the Fairies. An aptly named frame with the ability to turn herself into a tiny fairy, and fly about environments causing death and destruction, as all good fairies should.

Not only this, but Titania's other Abilities are equally special, allowing her to provide buffs and debuffs, as well as some really effective Crowd Control.

While pretty niche in terms of playtime, there's something here for everyone, provided you put in the effort to learn her Abilities in depth.

View Details

It's getting very close to the end of the year, so DE has pulled out all stops for Empyrean, showing off a lengthy demo in Devstream 134. Is it worth watching? You bet your dirty bum, it is.

As a result, this episode involves the Cephalons discussing everything they saw in the demo in detail, and basically fawning over what is essentially Warframe 2.0. And better than that? DE indicated it's likely to hit PC prior to Xmas. Good times indeed.

Set the table and prepare for a feast of gargantuan proportions. Yes, here we tackle the mighty warframe Grendel, who just happens to also be mighty hungry. Able to not only consume his opponents but also to use them either as buffs or projectiles, Grendel makes a formidable foe.

And more than that? He can roll into a ball and crush them should they resist.

Grendel is an extremely tanky frame that also provides buffs for himself and teammates alike. He's a good friend to have on your team. Listen in to find out why.

Well, there was no Devstream this week, but we didn't want to leave our listeners wanting more... So we went out and scored an awesome interview! If you missed our interview with Sheryl Mebane (the voice of Nora Night) earlier this year, check it out...

And then follow it up with this one, in which we interview Lucas Schuneman, who voices such fan favourites as Nef Anyo and Tyl Regor, and a lot more besides Warframe! This interview was a lot of fun, and we encourage you to actively seek out his work.

No, it's not deja vu, and yes - we have covered Ember before. However, with the rework that was delivered alongside Update 26, we simply had to update our Ember coverage. So here it is - is she much better now?

Wow - what a week! First, console players were looking forward to The Old Blood hitting their platform, while the community as a whole was hoping for more information on Empyrean in this week's Devstream.

Not to disappoint the community, DE did one better and dropped the first update for the expansion on PC players!

So this week, we have a LOT to talk about - not only do we need to go over the Devstream itself, but we also need to talk about The Old Blood on console and Rising Tide on PC, among all of the usual banter and topics!

Get excited, Tenno!

SPOILERS! RUN AWAY SCARED IF YOU ARE YET TO FINISH THE MAIN STORYLINE!

Still here? Good.

In this month's Lorecast, we have a good chat about the quest that gives us Titania - it provides some good background on the origin of Warframes, as well as a few other interesting tidbits besides. In addition, Cephalon Lucas goes over the lore that he could track down in regards to the New Loka faction. Definitely worth a listen, but definitely full of spoilers!

Another week goes by in the world of Warframe, and yet again, there was no Devstream... HOWEVER, The Old Blood has gone to certification on all console platforms, so that's a good thing!

It certainly makes me think, though - perhaps DE is delaying the next Devstream because they don't want to jump the gun on the next update before console players have even got their hands on the last one? Kind of feels that way... We can only hope - and with only 6 weeks left in the year, there certainly isn't much time left for DE to deliver on the remaining promises...

In addition, we've got our Beginner topic (the Market) and our Advanced topic (Parazon mods, p1: Hacking mods)!

Valkyr.

Valkitty. Psycho Kitty.

These nicknames conjure up images of a ball of fury and talons. And it's not far from the truth - Valkyr is these things and more.

What makes Valkyr such a great DPS/melee frame? Well, for one, she's tanky and two - she can self-heal. However, overall, she can be a bit of a selfish choice, as her abilities don't tend to be TOO helpful to other players. Still, she's just a bunch of fun to use, trust us.

Have a listen to find out why.

After about 6 long weeks of waiting, DE has at last been able to sit down to present another Devstream. He may be one of the newest warframe's to hit the game (at the time of recording), and - let's be honest - when he was first unveiled, we initially weren't overly impressed by his abilities.

However, Gauss, the running man, is no slouch in the warframe department. In fact, with the right build, he can effectively be immortal. And did we mention he runs fast? Because he runs fast. FAST.

Terrible German accent: Gauss!

With the relative success of the podcast, the Cephalons decided to branch out and play on other platforms - mainly PC and Switch. While they smashed through the content, a member of the CS Discord decided to start out and experience the early game with a different approach in mind.

As a result, we thought it would be a great idea for us all to sit down and have a chat about what we experienced. Thus, we discuss the early game in a fair amount of detail! And even better than that? We brought in a Community Guest to do just that!
