This week we are In the Dojo with Dr. Sean Benesh is the Director of Intrepid which focuses on combining church planting, community economic development, and startups for the betterment of communities. He has a Master’s degree from Simpson University, a DMin in Transformational Leadership for the Global City from Bakke Graduate University, and post-doctoral studies at Portland State University in urban studies. Sean has written eleven books on the subject of cities and church planting, is the senior editor of the International Journal of Urban Transformation, and currently teaches at two universities in Portland.

In light of the current social climate, this week we ask some difficult questions in the hope of getting to the bottom of how we as a church should be responding to today's culture. Are we too easily angered by things that are right? Are we too easily distracted by things that are irrelevant? Are we too easily content with change that is not sufficient?
Recently we have seen unprecedented levels of protests around the world that were sparked by the death of George Floyd. This week we discuss how those in ministry should respond to the current climate in the most loving and biblical way possible.

This week we go In the Dojo with Ruben Young. Ruben shares the incredibly inspirational story that took him from the life of gangs and drug addiction to planting churches.
This week we are In the Dojo with Ralph Moore. Ralph and his wife, Ruby, started the Hope Chapel movement when they planted Hope Chapel Hermosa Beach in California. Twelve years and 30 church plants later, they partnered with Aaron and Stephanie Suzuki and a team of 26 others to plant Hope Chapel Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii (now Anchor Church). Lately, they and a team planted a third church, Hope Chapel Honolulu. Besides being church planters, they are happy parents and grandparents. Ralph currently travels the globe, training pastors and leaders with simple, no-cost tools for making disciples, training leaders in-house and multiplying churches.
This week we are talking about politics. We live in divisive times where people seem so far apart in so many things within the political sphere. It feels like it has become such an emotive subject that it is difficult to even engage have a conversation about it without it devolving into a screaming match. So , where is the place of politics in the church? Listen to hear as we tackle the problematic issues of our day.
This week we are In the Dojo with an old friend. Solomon is someone who Barry, Andrea & Peyton have all served along and is now the current Pastor of Pillar Community Church in Swansea. Pillar was Andrea & Peyton's first-ever church plant and the church that Barry was saved at. We discuss with Solomon the challenges of ministry in the UK and the interesting path life has taken him on, from growing up in Zimbabwe to now Pastoring a thriving church in South Wales.
This week we are back in the Dojo and we are joined by Vance Pitman. Vance is the Senior Pastor of Hope Church Las Vegas, a church plant of First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia. His expositional teachings and command of the diverse biblical vernacular captivate his audience and urge them to ask, “How can I be more involved in the Kingdom?”. As a seasoned church planter in the West, Vance speaks across the country and all over the world from the passion of his apostolic heart to inspire people to join in God’s eternal, redemptive mission of making disciples and multiplying the church among every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. He resides in Henderson, Nevada, with his wife Kristie. He and Kristie are the proud parents of four children, and have a granddaughter and a grandson.
This week we are discussing signs of a healthy church. We talk about our experience of both the good and the bad and came up with a list of 5. Safety, spiritual growth, community, kingdom focus and humble leadership. Have a listen to find out why we picked these.

This week is we are back In the Dojo for part 2 of our interview with Peter Jeffery. Peter authored over 40 books, many written for new Christians or for those seeking Christ. Peter was a faithful preacher heralding the truth of the gospel. He was ordained to the ministry in 1963 and served as the Minister at Ebenezer Congregational Church in Cwmbran, Wales. In 1972 he accepted a call to Rugby Evangelical Free Church where he ministered until 1986. During his time at Rugby, the church experienced a period of special blessing, with very many being converted. In 1986 Peter went to Bethlehem Evangelical Church in Port Talbot, South Wales (‘Sandfields’, where Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones had previously ministered), where he pastored until 1994. Peter passed away peacefully in August 2017, he had been preaching for more than 50 years.

This week we get in the dojo with Tom Bennardo. Tom is the Co-director of the Synergy Church Planting Network. In his 35 years of ministry he has served as a staff pastor, youth pastor, church planter, and senior pastor. After more than 21 years as founder and lead pastor of Life Community Church, an FEC church in Hilliard, Ohio, Tom joined the staff of FEC in 2017 as Director of Pastoral Development & Western U.S. Church Multiplication. Now residing on the west coast, his role is multi-faceted: expanding FEC’s presence west of the Rocky Mountains, providing pastoral support, and equipping young leaders in their theological development.

Discipleship has been a bit of buzzword in the church for the last few years. Many have claimed that the reason the church is in decline is due to a lack of discipleship. So this week we dig into what is discipleship is and talk about our experiences being discipled and discipling others.
Halloween is a very divisive subject in the church, so we say down this week to talk about it. We discuss whether it should be something we should reject or if it is something the church can redeem.
If you have been in ministry for any period of time you are likely to have suffered disappointment at some point. If you havent I can guarantee it's on its way.
