Not only does it help give a great podcast title, it definitely helps lend what our intentions are for this podcast. We hope to offer unique perspectives for movies that are near and dear to people's hearts and the more obscure films that we can hopefully bring more to light! Today we are covering Disney's Davy Crockett Series! These episodes were grouped together in the 50's and released as two feature-length movies.
In this episode, we break down and discuss the film BATMAN. Released in 1989, it was directed by Tim Burton and produced by Jon Peters and Peter Guber. It is the first installment of Warner Bros.' initial Batman film series. The film stars Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Jack Nicholson as his archnemesis the Joker, and Kim Basinger as Bruce’s love interest Vicky Vale. The film takes place early in Batman’s war on crime with him coming face to face with the Joker.
Da 5 Bloods is a 2020 American war drama film directed and co-written by Spike Lee. It stars Delroy Lindo, Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mélanie Thierry, Paul Walter Hauser, and Chadwick Boseman. The film follows a group of Vietnam veterans who return in search of the remains of their fallen commander, as well as the treasure they buried while serving there.
The Big Lebowski is a 1998 crime comedy that is directed by the Coen brothers. It stars Jeff Bridges as the dude, a man on a quest to find his missing rug with the help of his loyal friend Walter and slightly less aware friend Donny played both by john Goodman and Steve Buscemi respectively.
In this film, we follow world renowned archaeologist Indiana Jones (portrayed by Harrison Ford) on a quest to find the Ark of the Covenant. Along the way, we run into many characters, including his love interest Marion Ravenwood (played by Karen Allen) and rival archaeologist and adversary Rene Belloq (Played by Paul Freeman). In this episode we look back at how this film has impacted our lives and what inspired the film and it's portrayal of certain characters.
For this podcast, we review the film Hot Fuzz directed by Edgar Wright. It follows Simon Pegg who plays the pretentious cop Nicholas Angel who is shipped to, Sanford, a remote town outside of London and tasked with residing there. Along with his stay, he investigates several murders who he believes are linked to a nefarious plot that he has to uncover. Along the way, he befriends a rather silly cop named Danny played by Nick Frost who encourages him to let go of his rather strict police ethics and become more of a team player. During this podcast, we discuss some of the key players within the film while we also discuss major themes that show up throughout the story.
For this episode, the movie covered is Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Directed by Rian Johnson this film takes place almost minutes after the Force Awakens and follows Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo Ren as they discover themselves in ways that they have not before. During this podcast, we discuss various plot points of the film while also tackling some of the more controversial points that left quite a rift in the fanbase.
