SensuCast / 45 / Dan Piu Dan Piu is a DJ/Producer that has commanded so much of our attention in recent years. And quite right, too. He seems to have an unlimited supply of new material and rediscovered dusty dat tapes. His release of EP’s and Albums has been relentless. Track after track of high quality house music. As a DJ you can hear a lifetime of digging experience with each set, often selecting music that would be hard to acquire had you not been active in “the scene” at the time it was made. It was a huge treat to receive a mix from Dan. Here he presents an hour of rare sounding music from a dimension left of centre. SensuCast / 044 / Joe DaviesJoe Davies is on a bit of a hot streak at present. With b2b releases being snapped up by the ever dependable Smallville Records. But joe is no newcomer, his earlier work under the DJ Assam moniker shows the quality that has been there from day one. As a long time follower, I was delighted when Joe agreed to provide a mix for the series. For our listening pleasure we have a brilliantly selected vinyl only mix of house music that will fill your speakers with hope and joy!Big up Joe. Big up decent music. Keep the fire burning!
Sensucast / 042 / SeafoamI have long been an admirer of Brian Cavender's music. Under the name Seafoam he has been producing some of the most excellent laid back and dream state, deep house music.Since as far back as 1999 he found a home on labels such as Guidance, Straylight, and Lo-rise Recordings. A 13 year haitus led to Seafoam productions having a higher stock price than facebook on Discogs, making original copies something you handle with care and try not to scratch. Rue De Plaisance stepped up in 2017 with a collected works compilation which marked the return of Seafoam. Since then we have been gifted with regular nuggets of house on a regular basis. If you head over to Brians bandcamp you will find even more music to discover. I was delighted when Brian agreed to curate a mix. His request was to create a downtempo offering of all his own productions. YES YES YES. We speak the same language. Let your mind float, to the sound of Seafoam. Enjoy!
SensuCast / 042 / DJ PopupDenmark has been an absolute hotbed for high quality producers and DJ's of late. Since the first Regelbau release in 2014, there has been a constant stream of talent for us to discover. It seems there is a true community supporting each other through collaboration, distribution, and mentoring. DJ Popup has been making serious waves since the launch of their NES label. A fresh outlook on house music that is both forward thinking yet subtly nodding to the past and those that paved the way. I was delighted when I received this mix. Good honest house music put together with care and attention. A huge thanks to the artist for sharing. Enjoy!

Tom has been a constant presence across the electronic music scene in Glasgow and beyond for as long as we can remember. As a label head for headspace recordings and emoticon, or production releases under Nuclear Family, we have been nothing but impressed the quality of output and breadth of his musical knowledge.

Every few years Alison Marks would release a track that would turn our heads and wake up our ears. Be it on Dessous, Dogmatik or Rebirth the quality was there for all to see. When the Limbic Resonance EP was released on Andy Greens' ever-impressive Verdant label along with previous SensuCast guest Nesa Azadikha, it just made total sense to complete the circle and reach out to Alison.
What we have is a mix just shy of 2 hours that we know you will love. Some of our absolute favorites in here with variations and textures primed for your listening pleasure.

Having had a sneak preview of his upcoming release on Ornaments, this statement still rings true more than ever. A beautifully deep and expertly crafted record.

When you spend your working nights in Sub Club you are also treated to a soundtrack of the best music available. Sub Club has long been a hotbed of talent for previous and current members of staff. Pala resident and chief organiser Veitch has spent his time at 22 Jamaica Street wisely, using the countless hours engrossed in sound to develop himself as an artist.
We are happy to present a fresh mix by one of Glasgow's most promising DJ's.
Iggie - The Big Freeze
In 2007, Sensu co-organised The Wee Chill at the Science Centre.
An impressive host of local talent joined Masters At Work, Harri, Domenic, and The Bays creating a day and night for the ages. This promo mix by Iggie, was on repeat during the run-up to the event and for many months after. It remains one of our favourites from over the years.
We are unsure if it was ever fully shared, so hope you enjoy it as we uncover some more gems from the archives.

Following the release of his Time Moods EP in January, Kriss is riding the crest of a wave, and deservedly so. However, the Marseille-based DJ and Producer is no newcomer to the scene. For the last 15 years, he's been a constant presence on record shelves across the world. By our estimation, that will continue for at least 15 more.

Not many people find the time to manage a record store, 5 labels, a flourishing DJ/Production career and general life all at once. Cinthie however, seems to take this in her stride. This was evident when she joined us in January at Sensu for her Sub Club debut. The music was warm, inviting and expertly selected. Solid proof that house music is very much alive and heading in a positive direction.

Deep House Tehran is the leading Iranian underground house and electronic music magazine. Established in 2014 by Nesa Azadikhah DHT pushes electronic music both locally and worldwide in the form of mixes, workshops, interviews and more. The volume and quality of their content is a sight to behold with their mix series being a “go to” for us in recent years. Bud Burroughs is one of the finer things to emerge from the Scottish Electronic scene. As part of the Jelly Roll Soul crew and club night he makes up part of a collective known for their deep understanding and love for the true foundations of House and Techno. Very few dig deeper with many falling short of their standards.
Buds third 12” release and second on Glasgow’s Seventh Sign Records is due to drop in Sept.
We are graced with a mix form the man himself worthy of multiple listens.

When Rush Hour Recordings re-released the 1990 Dance Mania ep “Your Eyes” some became aware of Vincent's work for the first time, others were just reminded of his talents. “Moonlight Fantasy” followed in 2014, six previously unreleased tracks of sheer bliss that helped cement his return as the house music champion we all need and want. Today his remix of "Rayskoye Mesto" hit stores worldwide, welcome signs that we can now look forward to regular releases from Vincent.

Theo Kottis returns to his own Beautiful Strangers imprint for his new ep, this time teaming up with heavyweight distributors !K7 Records. We thought now the perfect time to invite Theo as begins to close off what has been a throughly deserved, non-stop year.
Top scores for this mix. Well put together with some excellent tracks we've yet to discover. As expected! Bravo.
If your previous 12" releases can be found on labels like Seventh Sign, Verdant and Distant Worlds then you can take comfort in the fact you are doing something right. We completely agree, Emotive Techno done properly. Mihail P is next up on SensuCast.

Sometimes an artist has a "sound" when producing that is instantly recognisable. Similar in feel and mood but each production stands unique in its own way. Tominori Hosoya is one of these artists with said ability. Tominori has been kind enough to offerus a beautiful mix containing some upcoming tracks from his unreleased artist album "Halfway" due out soon. This is a solid reminder of the quality and depth of music available to house and techno lovers worldwide.

Every time Andy Green releases a record on his ever impressive Verdant Recordings imprint, we jump at the chance to listen to the new delight that will no doubt be placed in the “play immediately” category. When a label features the likes of John Shima, ESB, Mick Welch and Mihail P this would almost be an obvious thing to do. However Andy’s meticulous eye/ear for detail regarding track selection to record design makes Verdant Recordings allure almost impossible to ignore.
This same detail is evident in his DJing. In his own words – “techno, house, electronica, ambient, dub and deepness……….it’s all good”. We say it’s more than that. It’s very very good. So for SensuCast no 16 we are delighted to give you Andy Green (Verdant Recordings), a mix you will most probably return to time and time again as proof that all is alive and well in the electronic music community.

When starting the SensuCast series one of our goals was to give a platform for up and coming artists that we feel are worthy of your attention. Since Paul Rogers released his Sad Anthems ep we were instantly attracted to the subtle melancholic mood he is able to present, in such an understated way. Hamatsuki is currently our man of the moment. On top of this solid 4 hour live mix from Bassiani Club in Tbilisi, his Remember ep will be hitting stores this month on Sensu Records.

CC:DISCO! A mainstay of the Melbourne club scene, CC began connecting with audiences just like the heroes before her – through FM radio. Having presented shows since the age of 15, her weekly slot on local institution PBS FM ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ is now celebrated as the essential start to every Friday night. All of this air time has primed her to knock out guest spots on NTS, Red Light Radio, Worldwide and Dublab.
CC will join us in March (Good Friday) across Saint Lukes and Sub Club for her Sensu debut.
With his first full length album "Stargazing" out this month, we thought now a good time to showcase the Talents of Lootbeg. It's clear to see he has just as keen an ear when selecting tracks as well as making them.

SensuCast 007. Hunter Mitchell offers up some excellent listening material for July. He is part of the exciting young collective Craigie Knowes. A label currently releasing varied and uncompromising house music. Whether its uncovering hidden gems from Carl Finlow or promoting talent across the board that’s worthy of mass attention, every release is hitting the spot. With his Club night Groovement going from strength to strength, Hunter Mitchell steps up to give is what we would expect. Great music, played well.
Next up we have promising talent jimc . With his debut track SAT6 coming out of Charmin record, Its clear to see there are interesting times ahead for Jim. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Manchester born Jim's upcoming release. It will melt and warm your soul in equal measure.
