They discuss how to tell if your dog is stressed (calming signals), lunging, biting up the leash. Plus dogs who don't like kids - and how that can be safely managed.Lizzy is the adoption counsellor at the shelter, tasked with matching dogs to the right forever homes. It's a crucial role because arriving at the shelter is the most high-stress situation a dog can find themselves in and their behavior in that moment could be an indicator of how they might react in the future.
The good news is that dogs who appear to show aggression can absolutely move past their trauma and go happily on into appropriate and loving adoptive homes.

Since their last meeting Lizzy has made great progress in understanding how and why negative behaviors come to the surface and has been able to apply a more holistic approach to working out the route causes for apparent 'problem dogs'.
Again, making sure to assess each dog as an individual and work out their specific needs has helped Lizzy to match dogs with the right people. One long term resident dog Meatball even found his forever home. Result!
