Reflections from Connection 18. Pastor Heidi and Jamie, Rob, Phil and Angela share what they took away from this last week.
Taylor Smith speaks on Spiritual Gifts about how God gives us more then one gift and we should be bold and ask for more.
This is the last week of the Believe series. Taylor spoke on the last line of the Apostles creed. This closing stanza of the Apostles Creed, which declares that we believe in “...the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.” He teaches from the books of 1 Thessalonians and Revelations.
This week Pastor Jamie spoke about believing in forgiveness. “I believe in Forgiveness.” The creed says “forgiveness of sins” but, I fear that when we say that, when we read that, we can easily get this messed up in our heads. What we say is that we believe that God forgave MY sins (in other words, we make it ME-centric) He 1 forgives MY sins and this is really only part of the story. So, lets just start here, “I Believe in Forgiveness.”
This week Pastor Heidi used this line of the Apostles creed On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father
This week pastor Jamie used the line "and he will come to judge the living and the dead." in The Apostles Creed. His message was from Matthew 25:31-46 about the sheep and the goats.
So, this week I get the overwhelming pleasure and the completely impossible task of taking the darkest line in the whole creed, allowing it to point us back to the scripture, and to unpack it just a little bit. Today we are talking about Jesus Christ - who Suffered under Pontius Pilot, Crucified, Dead and Buried - and the ever popular line, “He descended into Hell.”
Pastor Jamie share about who Jesus is and what you believe about Jesus changes everything.
Pastor Jamie's second message of the Believe series is about who God the Father is. Do you know who introduced me to this Heavenly Father? Jesus. There is a prayer, found in Matthew 6, it is Jesus teaching his disciples to pray. What this prayer teaches about who God is - to introduce you to the God of the bible, the God of the creed.
This week Pastor Jamie started a new series that will go through the new year called Believe. He will be using the Apostles Creed during this series. We started with the first line and that took us to John 20: 24-31 and what it is to believe in Jesus or to know Jesus.
In this weeks second part of testing so this week Pastor Jamie added three more test. Does it concern my responsibility? What is it to you? and Does it require faith?
Pastor Jamie spoke about testing and how to test or bad and evil. In this sermon and the next weeks he wants to share with you several ways to test an impression and find out whether it is from God or not. These tests form a filter and you need to make sure that the idea you are testing passes all of them. When it does, you can have absolute confidence that the idea is Gods.
This Sunday Pastor Jamie spoke about that fork in the road and how to know which way God is leading you.
This week Pastor Jamie started a new series called Discernment. He spoke on why there is a need for discernment in our lives. By knowing right from wrong it helps us know how to live a godly life.
Pastor Jamie is back from sabbatical! He shares about a rafting trip he went on and how it relates to his sabbatical. He told us how to go with the flow, that rough water can be fun and most important is that we are on the river to paradise!

This Sunday was a special Sunday at Pullman Foursquare, we were able to send out some amazing people. Pastor Jamie spoke from Acts 13:1-12which is about Paul's sending and transformation.
This Sunday Pastor Jamie started a new sermon study called Crazy! He started with Crazy Hope. Crazy Hope in the resurrection of Jesus. He spoke on how if Peter, Paul and James can restore their relationship with God through Jesus then anyone can.
This week we had a guest speaker Taylor. He spoke on engaging with your family. How every member of the family has an important role in making sure the family is spirituality healthy.
This is week two of Engage. Pastor Jamie spoke on believing for the impossible, bearing burdens, breaking barriers and knowing your neighbor. He challenged us to get to know our neighbors and to pray for them.
This week Pastor Jamie started a new sermon series called Engage. He spoke from the book of Ruth. Engagement happens in two parts: A DECISION to attach or become involved - to no longer be passive; and, an intentional MOVEMENT - taking intentional steps to engage.
In the investment world we want to put all our eggs in different places and hope that in the long run it works out for us. But God want us to put all of our faith eggs in one basket, his basket. Pastor Jamie speaks on the Parable of the Talents, Ahaz and Hezekiah and ends up right where we started at Jonah.
On our 3rd week of our Risk series we had a guest speaker Grace. She shared about some of the risks in her life. Also Grace spoke about stupid risk and smart risk.
This week Pastor Kristen spoke about The Risk of Reconciliation. She spoke on the reason for reconciliation, the way of reconciliation and the cost of reconciliation.
This week Pastor Kristen spoke about The Risk of Reconciliation. She spoke on the reason for reconciliation, the way of reconciliation and the cost of reconciliation.
Pastor Jamie is starting a new series about Risk. Bravery leads us to risk. Risk is Orville and Wilber Wright spending their hard earned money to build an airplane when human flight was impossible. Risk is a Christian choosing to go and live in a country that is not safe for Christians and to share the story of Jesus. Risk is saying no to good things so you can say yes to God-Things. There are thousands of ways to take kingdom risks, great and small and I want you to know this: God wants you to take risks with your life. And I hope that you will be empowered and emboldened to take these risks by what we share in the next weeks. So let’s start by defining risk. Risk is an action that exposes you to the possibility of injury or loss
Rory Lewellyn spoke on Fighting over the Bible, but not in the way you think. We should not use the Bible to fight with it should be a place where we go to hear God and not to prove something.
During our last week of Brave Pastor Jamie spoke on have Contentment and confidence go hand in hand with bravery. Every day we wake up and feel like we’re surrounded by different enemies. Sometimes, God doesn’t appear to be visibly working. But when we see it through, God promises that we will see His love and faithfulness.
During week 4 of our Brave series Pastor Jamie spoke on how Faith can turn bad news into a good report. How the report that you believe is much more important then the news you receive.
In week 3 of our Brave series Pastor Jamie speaks about how you cannot live a courageous life without a focused mind.
In week 2 of our Brave series Pastor Jamie speaks about how we have plenty of reasons to be anxious and afraid- which means we have ample opportunity for bravery.
Where is God when it hurts? Is there a point to the suffering? We may not always know the answer to these questions, but we can experience Joy in the midst of pain and suffering. Listen to learn how!
In the presence of Jesus there is fullness of Joy. Joy is the second in the list of the fruit of the Spirit - Right after Love and just before Peace. We all want love - we all need peace, but what about Joy?
In our final week of this series and following the 2016 US national election, we ask the question - How does God call us to treat and speak about our leaders if we disagree or dislike them. In the midst of a nation that is deeply divided God calls his followers to be gracious, because he is gracious, and to Shine like a lighthouse drawing all people to Christ.
A Red Herring is something that is especially distracting or misleading (its also smoked fish - but, that's beside the point). In our third week in the book of Titus, you will be challenged by Paul to not be distracted by the red herrings of our culture - politics, gender, career, education, and to shine for Jesus right where you are.
Our world sells a narrative of fear, scary stories of a future with one political party or the other in power; a story of loss and struggle that God has no part to play. In this series, we will explore the New Testament book of Titus and see how the first century church was challenged to face their world and political situation with faith in the face of fear.
Trust is an expensive commodity that we measure out bit by bit. Yet, God calls us to trust him, even when everything around us seems uncertain. The question we must ask is this: Is God Trustworthy? This week we look at God's self-portrait, Jesus, to discover that God is for us, completely unshakable and totally worthy of our trust.
Is God tight-fisted and stingy or his He generous. The God Jesus knows and loves is scandalously generous and ready to give to those who ask.
Is God Good? With all of the suffering in the world, its a fair question. Who really is God? Does he care about what is going on in our world? In this series we will explore the God I know and love - the God I wish you knew.
In this series we want to introduce you to the God we know and love to help you know and love him too.
Why did God make you and what are you going to do about it? Retired Pastor, DIck Speer challenges us to find our purpose in life and pursue it through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Heidi and Jamie Pagel share what God has been speaking to their family through Toby Mac's song, "Speak Life
From our take on the sermon series - From this day forward - Heidi and Jamie speak together on the commitment to Stay Pure.
What does it mean that God is "Holy?" Just how Holy is God? And, perhaps as important, are you serving the One True Holy God, or a weaker image?
