Here is Jesus' own approach to evangelism from Luke 10.

Here is a collection of 17 lies we tell ourselves/hurdles to overcome that prevent us from effectively sharing God's Good News.

I tried not to be one of "those kind."

There were times that it was way out of control.

It hasn't always been viewed as "good news" to me.

How all or nothing were my "friendships?" My answer needed to change.

As long as I relegated the Bible as a book for Christians only, I continually missed opportunities for sharing a key component of my faith.

As long as those two weren't better integrated, I was not going to reach the goal I had set for myself.

What was I going to do about the fears that came with my breaking the social taboo regarding talking to someone about their "religion?"

I seemed to go between not feeling prepared to share my faith and always preparing to share my faith but never doing it.

The more conscientious I became the more jealous I became of those who lived such a carefree life.

Trusting Christ for eternal life did little to upgrade my basic social skills. That would require some separate attention.

Separating the church culture from what the Bible asked of me became foundational in moving closer to those with whom I desired to be friends.

Acknowledging the role of faith in my convictions turned out to be key.

My striving to appear perfect had to go.

Getting comfortable with being fully human took some getting used to.

My beliefs about how a person came to Christ needed some serious rework.

Something had to give if I was to have time have more friends with those who had not yet found Christ.

Getting past that mentality was crucial to my moving forward.
