It was Week #15 for the DMX Frid'Eh Update so we got in touch with career #15 Jess Pettis who is at Club 57 in Florida getting ready for the 2026 Canadian Triple Crown Series Motocross Nationals.
Davi Millsaps came to Canada to race the Rockstar Energy Canadian Motocross Nationals in 2016. He would end up winning the 450 title, but had issues at the Wastelands round in Nanaimo, British Columbia, when it was deemed he jumped on a red cross flag in the first moto. The result was a 10-position penalty. He went 1-1 but was scored 11th officially in moto 1. He came back to win the 2nd moto over Colton Facciotti but lost the red plate. Davi was able to regain the points lead at the next round and held it to the end of the 8-round season. Here's our interview at the end of the day to talk about it all.

We talk with Canadian Shelby Turner after her impressive 5th place at the 2024 ISDE in Spain. This conversation was also right after she finished 1-1 at the first 2 rounds of AMA Endurocross where Shelby is a 6-time champion. SHe had both her ACL's repaired at the same time and so she missed racing in 2023.
Well, I guess with technology sometimes these things happen. I lost most of the interviews I did with riders on my GoPro Hero 9 after the 70th annual 2024 Corduroy Enduro in Gooderham, Ontario. When I got home I found that the first big file was corrupt and simply wasn't payable. Michael DaSilva was about to make his full-time comeback to Canadian Triple Crown MX Nationals racing in 2024. He had put in the work and was down at SOBMX in South Carolina to finish his preparations before heading west to Alberta for the western swing in June. Unfortunately, he had a crash that resulted in 6 compression fractures in his thoracic spine. He's on the road to recovery but his plans to start the season at Round 1 will have to wait until the series heads east in July. We caught him on the phone to talk about it all. Two motocross legends teamed up in 2014 to race the CMRC Canadian Motocross National in Ulverton, Quebec.
We caught up with Carl Vaillancourt and Mike Treadwell at the end of the day to talk about how it all came together and to make fun of Mike and his many pre-race superstitions.
The battles between Kaven Benoit and Vince Friese during the 2014 CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals immediately went down in Canadian MX Folklore.
It all came to a head at the penultimate round in Ulverton, Quebec, when Kaven's brother, Karel Benoit, got involved, fans threw rocks at Vince, stood in his way, and Vince put Kaven on the ground. In fact the Quebec fans were called "like monkeys" by Vince and then circled his rig so he couldn't leave! It was a day like none other.
