Born in Bratislava, raised in Ottawa & Montreal, residing in Barcelona, Zef combines ‘60s-inspired pop music with contemporary indie rock and binds it together with a ribbon of folk sentimentality. LP coming in late 2019.

Things repeat. In these times of division walls, uncertain futures and mass pleading for change we need forward-looking messages of hope and soothing sunshine. Sun on my Face is just one meagre attempt at this, at unifying humanity, unconditionally, through music and melody. This song will be the opening track off of Zef Raček's forthcoming LP "Mind Out to Sea".
Recorded at The Bottle Garden studio in Montreal by Peter Woodford. Mixing and vocal / guitar overdubs done by Zef in his Barcelona flat. Mastered by Pete Maher in London. "7x7" was first improvised at a session in Aug. 2015 at JB Goudet's 2nd-floor apartment on Bernard Avenue in Montreal. It was re-recorded exactly 2 years later, directly across the street, at Freelove Fenner's analog studio The Bottle Garden, engineered by Peter Woodford. Exactly 2 years after that it will be released (25/08/2019). Zef sings about leaving your city, a leap of faith towards a lover he met one year earlier. A true story he wants "everyone to know".
