Scott and Arnie welcome Yair Moses, who shares his harrowing experience from the October 7th Hamas attack in Israel. Born and raised in Kibbutz Nir Oz, just a mile from Gaza, Yair recounts the trauma his family endured: both his parents were taken hostage, with his mother held in underground tunnels for 49 days, while his sister and her children hid in their safe room. His father, Gadi, was kidnapped while trying to protect his loved ones and is still being held hostage. Tragically, his father’s partner was killed. Arnie and Scott speak with Anne Fogel, a Missoula resident whose brother, Marc Fogel, has been detained in a Russian penal colony for nearly three years. Marc Fogel, an American schoolteacher, was arrested in August 2021 by Russian authorities for attempting to enter the country with 0.6 ounces of medical marijuana. Although Marc's name was considered for release during a major prisoner swap with Russia— which saw the release of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, and Russian-American journalist Alsu Kurmasheva— Marc was unfortunately not included and remains in Russia. Anne has been tirelessly working to secure her brother’s release. In their conversation, Arnie and Scott delve into Anne's efforts and the ongoing challenges her family faces. Scott and Arnie welcome Mark Losh - President and CEO of the Missoula Chamber of Commerce to the show! Mark took the reigns of the Chamber from Kim Latrielle, who spent 50 years with the Missoula Chamber of Commerce. Mark has some big shoes to fill. We talk about that and much much more on the program. Mark Losh has been in the business world since the late 1970s, when he began as a part-owner of a restaurant at age 16 in Deer Park, WA. Mark's career is the stuff of legend and we discuss that and how this great career prepared him for his new role with the Chamber of Commerce.

Scott and Arnie welcomed the Montana Innocence Projects John Lovi to the show. Lovi talks about the good work he and the Innocence Project are doing here in Montana. The Innocence Project advocates for an accurate and accountable justice system by remediating the root causes of wrongful and unjust convictions, improving laws, and advocating for racial and criminal justice in Montana. Lovi moved to Montana in 2016 after having a very successful career in law in New York. Lovi received his B.A. in Philosophy and Economics at Columbia College in 1983 before graduating from Yale Law School in 1986. He was a trial lawyer for several law firms on Wall Street, focusing mostly on securities and financial issues. He later founded and was the Managing Partner of the New York Office of the DC law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP.

Scott and Arnie welcome first time guest (can't believe it took this long!) - Ednor Therriault to the show. Ednor just published his fifth book - Big Sky, Big Parks. This new book is a unique blend of history, culture, and local flavor that�s not just an entertaining travel companion, but a useful resource for those visiting the two national parks and the vast chunk of Montana that connects them. Ednor is is a writer, musician and graphic designer with deep Montana roots. His great-great-grandparents homesteaded on Douglas Creek in western Montana in the 1880s, and his father grew up in Missoula. As Bob Wire, Ednor performs around the state and has released six albums of original music.

Scott and Arnie welcome Devin Carpenter, Co-Director of the 2023 Missoula Pride, taking place the weekend of June 16-18th. Devin has lived here since starting college at the University of Montana in 2008, and he calls Missoula home. As a young gay man, he became involved in social change and civil disobedience, and was responsible for planning and coordinating many trainings, workshops, and demonstrations in Missoula while an undergraduate student working as a Diversity Program Coordinator at UM. He has served in a number of leadership positions with groups such as Montana Equality Now, Big Sky Pride etc. Devin is focused on creating a safe and sustainable annual program that remains largely free and open to people of all ages, and that lifts the voices of our trans and BIPOC siblings, who are among the most marginalized within our Missoula community.

Arnie and Scott welcome first time guest Dr. Clint Cordial to the studio. Cordial runs his sports training and chiropractic business here in Missoula � Electric Rehab and Fitness. Cordial shares a bunch of funny and poignant stories from his work working with professional athletes including John Isner � one of the top ranked Tennis players in the world. Cordial received his Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2011. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology with a Cell and Molecular tract from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Due to his passion for sport, Cordial trained his way to becoming a top college athlete, which fueled his interest in the academic field, ultimately leading to a Masters degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Western States University. Cordial is a board certified Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP) and has spent his entire career working with professional and olympic athletes.

Scott and Arnie welcome Heather Foster to the show this week. Heather is the CEO of the Missoula Family YMCA. She first joined the Y in 2014 as its HR director before assuming her current role in 2018. The YMCA is a 501c3 charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the community of Missoula through Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. The YMCA is one of Missoula's oldest and largest nonprofit organizations employing over 325 employees and serving thousands of families and children annually.

The buys talk about Les� vision for Brooklyn Bagel, his supply chain and his passion for bringing amazing NY style foods to Western Montana. Scott and Arnie welcome first time guest Rabbi Chezky Vogel from the Chabad of Missoula. Rabbi Chezky was born and raised in Rochester, NY where his parents serve as directors of Chabad of Monroe County since 1981. he received his early education in the local Jewish day school and went on to study in Detroit, Michigan and Israel, and achieved rabbinic ordination in 2014. his experience in children and adult education and community work includes programs in Israel, Brazil, Ukraine and all across the USA.
Arnie and Scott welcome first time guest author Rick Bleiweiss from Ashland, OR. His debut mystery novel, Pignon Scorbion & the Barbershop Detectives was just released in February, 2022 and is published by Blackstone Publishing. Scott and Rick go back almost 30 years, where Scott worked for Rick in the music industry in the early 90s for BMG in New York. Ricks music industry career dates back to the 60s when he was an intern for a music label while a student at the University of Miami. Rick started his career in music as a rock performer, producer of over fifty records, songwriter and record company senior executive, and worked with Clive Davis, Melissa Etheridge, the Backstreet Boys, Kiss, U2, Whitney Houston, the BeeGees, and other industry legends. Since 2006 as a publishing company executive, he has acquired works by bestselling and award-winning authors including James Clavell, Gabriel García Márquez, Rex Pickett, Leon Uris, and Nicholas Sansbury Smith, among others. The author of 36 books, Chef Loi keeps Scott and Arnie on their toes, and talks about running a restaurant during the pandemic, how she and her work family did over the past 20 months helping and feeding the community in NY.
