Derry went on to have a fantastic playing career in The Premier League after leaving Notts County playing for the likes of Sheffield United, Portsmouth, Crystal Palace, Leeds United & QPR.

We chat with Beth about her remarkable journey from being a young girl from West Bridgford not being able to find a team at a young age, to signing for the club she loves Notts County to signing for Bulgaria professional women's side FC Pirin Blagoevgrad!
Beth is a lifelong & 3rd generation Notts fan who's been attending games since she was 2 years old! She reveals how much it meant to her to play for Notts & how her career has took her to FC Pirin Blagoevgrad to play professional football under the 'British revelation' going on there in Dimitar Berbatov's hometown!
Episode 18. This week on The Magpie Circle Podcast we are joined by, a veteran of over 230 appearances for #Notts at left-back, Bob Worthington as we look back on the 1960's for the first time at Notts County.
Bob made over 230 appearances during his time at Notts between 1968-74 after signing from Middlesborough at the same time as Notts great, Don Masson.
We talk with Bob about his time at Meadow Lane with some fantastic insight into his relationship with Don Masson as well as how Kevin Keegan called Notts 'the land of the giants, his encounter with Bill Shankly & the likes of Neil Warnock, Sir Bobby Charlton, Harry Redknapp & Brian Clough being on the receiving end of his tackles!
Bob had a successful career in football also playing for the likes of Middlesborough, Halifax, Southend & Hartlepool.
EPISODE 17. In this special episode of The Magpie Circle we are joined by former Notts number 10 & fan favourite, Neal Bishop.
We have a lengthy chat with Bish about his amazing career & his time at Notts County as he reveals some fantastic stories. From playing with his Dad & Brother for Billingham Town, that goal against Man City at Meadow Lane in the FA Cup to swapping shirts with Del Piero against Juve.
Bishop had a very successful career in football after only making his professional debut aged 26. Bishop signed for Notts in 2009, the year we won the League 2 title and went on to make over 170 appearances for Notts during his 4 years at the club.
Life after Notts Bishop went on to have a successful career playing for the likes of Blackpool, Scunthorpe & Mansfield, before recently retiring from football aged 39.

Nicholson made over 100 appearances for Notts between 2001-04 before going on to have a very successful career at the likes of Scarborough, Forest Green & Torquay where he would later become manager gaining the nickname 'The Ranieri of The Riviera'.
Episode 14. In this special episode of The Magpie Circle we celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth as we are joined by former Notts forward, Dave Regis.
The Regis family over the years has offered so much to not only football but all sport including Dave, John & of course Cyrille Regis. We chat with Dave about his family legacy & the challenges he & his family faced being black athlete's growing up.
We also chat with Dave about his time at Meadow Lane including the 91 play-off final at Wembley & how much it meant to him to score the winner for Notts on the biggest stage!

We chat with Ward about his fantastic time with Notts from the 1998 title winning season, working with Chris Wilder at Sheffield United years after playing with him at Meadow Lane & Big Sam dancing with his mum & dad on top of a table!
Ward the former Welsh international & now Sheffield United goalkeeper coach, made over 250 appearances for Notts between 1995-2001 before crossing to the other side of the Trent for a successful 3 years with Nottingham Forest.
Episode 12. In this very special episode of The Magpie Circle we are joined by former Notts manager, Ricardo Moniz.
We chat with Moniz as he reveals all about his time at Meadow Lane including his admiration for Jimmy Sirrel, the heartbreak of relegation & the philosophy he was trying to implement at Notts before his reign was cut short!
Moniz was appointed Notts manager in April 2015 challenged with 6 games to save the club from relegation but unfortunately wasn't able to do so. The following season began very positive before Moniz's time as manager came to an end in December 2015 following a bad run of results leaving the club in 16th position.
Episode 11. This week on The Magpie Circle we celebrate the 12th year anniversary of the passing of legendary Notts manager Jimmy Sirrel. We are joined by former Notts player Jon Nixon as we chat & remember the great man himself, Jimmy Sirrel!
Nixon reveals some amazing stories about not only his time at Notts, but also insights into the great man himself & what he was like!
Nixon was signed for Notts by Jimmy Sirrel in the early 70's and went on to play over 200 games for the club, all of which were under Jimmy.
Episode 10. In this episode of The Magpie Circle we are joined by a Notts County legend Mike Edwards, who spent a fantastic 14 years with Notts mostly as a player but also as a coach.
We chat to Mike about his incredible career during his 14 years at Notts with many talking points from escaping relegation, the Munto era, the famous bicycle kick at Darlington, why he came back to Meadow Lane & many more!
Steady Eddie joined Notts in 2004 from Grimsby Town, Mike went on to make over 350 appearances for Notts during 2 spells with the club when he left to join Carlisle United in 2012 before returning 2 years later in 2014 for another 4 seasons!
Episode 9. In this episode Alex Dyer the former Notts player & current Kilmarnock manager enters The Magpie Circle.
Dyer played for Notts for over 3 seasons and was part of the historic title winning season in 1998 under Sam Allardyce, making over 80 appearances for the club.
Dyer post career has now gone into management and in December 2019 became the Kilmarnock first team manager in The SPL having previously being assistant manager at the club under Angelo Alessio & now Scotland manager Steve Clarke.
Episode 8. In this Episode of The Magpie Circle we are joined by Notts legend Mark Draper. Being one of the greatest players ever produced by the club Draper made over 220 appearances for Notts between 1988-94 scoring 40 goals.
We chat with Draper about his time & love for the club which we joined from the age of 9 and how he quickly became a fan favourite & legend of the club. During his time at Notts Draper played under the likes of other Notts legends including Neil Warnock & Mick Walker.
Draper after Notts went on to have a very successful career playing for the likes of Leicester City, Aston Villa, Rayo Vallecano & Southampton as well as receiving an England call up by then manager Glenn Hoddle.
Episode 7. In this magical episode of The Magpie Circle we are joined by Ex Notts striker & former New Zealand national manager, Mick Waitt.
We chat with Waitt who's career is some what of a footballing miracle from playing amateur football in The Notts Alliance & taking voluntary redundancy at the age of 24 to signing for Notts County in the second division scoring 32 times in 88 appearances between 1984-87.
Waitt emigrated to New Zealand in 1992 where incredibly in 2002 he would become the New Zealand National team manager guiding them to a rare victory over Australia & to The 2003 Confederations cup in France. Living prove that miracles do happen in football!
Episode 6. In this episode we are joined by Notts County Legend & all time top goalscorer, Les Bradd. During his 11 years at Meadow Lane, Bradd racked up over 400 appearances for Notts scoring 125 goals which still to this day stands as a goalscoring record for Notts County. Bradd talks about his playing career at Notts, the great Jimmy Sirrel & his much love for the club.
Episode 5. In this 5th episode of The Magpie Circle we are joined by former Notts County manager, Mad Dog himself, Martin Allen.
Allen reveals some fantastic never told before stories like jumping into The River Trent & how he knew it was the beginning of the end for him at Notts.
Martin was in charge at Meadow Lane between April 2011 - February 2012. During this time at Notts there was many high & lows from escaping relegating, the heartbreak at the City Ground and facing Juventus in Turin!
Episode 4. In this episode we are joined by former Notts County striker Trevor Christie as TC chats about his time at Meadow Lane when Notts established themselves as a top flight club. Christie recalls how Brian Clough dreaded the thought of playing Notts ... and how Clough went on to sign him for Forest.
Episode 3. In this 3rd episode we are joined by former Notts County midfielder and former Scottish International Paul Devlin.
Devlin signed for Notts from Stafford Rangers for a fee of around £60,000 in 1992, fending off interest from the likes of Graeme Souness' Liverpool. Devlin enjoyed over 5 great seasons at Meadow Lane and in that time made over 140 appearances for The Magpies.
We chat with Paul about those great years with Notts, revealing some fantastic stories including the story behind naming his pet snake Derek.
