Geeks on Screens with Coffee Episode 13 - Oww Gethyn Ellis. He's a bit a dish, isn't he?

Look who I bumped into at the water cooler/tea room/corridor?

It's only Gethyn Ellis , with his welsh charm.

I make Gethyn talk about the virtual conference he is organizing, but without mentioning the name!!!!!

Mumumhahah - Yes, its cruel, but its just how I am made.

Gethyn talks about how he and a team of people set out to organise and put on a popup conference in 30 days. Bloody Mental if you ask me! There is still enough time to sign up, so DO IT NOW!!!! https://www.dataweekender.com/

DataWeekender is organised by a group of European based Microsoft data platform professionals. We are all regular contributors to the Microsoft Data Community either via speaking, blogging, hosting conferences and running local meetup groups. Due to the current Covid-19 lockdown, we are running this simply to provide a way for people to continue presenting and hopefully for people to attend and learn.

The #DataWeekender team is:

Kevin Chant

Gethyn Ellis

Ásgeir Gunnarsson

Mark Hayes

Damir Matešić

Magnus Ahlkvist

I must dash, the kettle has almost boiled.

Look who I bumped into at the water cooler/tea room/corridor?

It's only Neil Hambly... https://twitter.com/Neil_Hambly

Neil tells me his favorite cheese, and shows us around his bedroom/office.

For some reason, Neil would like Alex to live forever... Kinda creepy if you ask me!!! :-) (And I did ask)

Geeks on Screens with Coffee Episode 3 - Chucklevision

This is the 3rd in my series of unsocial experiments.

I had a good hour to setup the stream, I got the desk setup, green screen setup, lightning setup....

but I only streamed to youtubes and didnt turn on facebooks/twitch and linkedin...

WHAT A MUPPET!!!

We chat about life, eating meals over zoom and not boring non technical people (or humans) with geek chat...

I tiny bit about SQLBits and I show off part of my costume for SQLBits...

Her tips on working from home, they are very useful. (I just think we need to take turns in having Jonathan)

I might link to that bit directly, if I can work out how to do it.

Here is the Azure bootcamp link :

and Data in Devon : https://sqlsouthwest.co.uk/

You know what, I think this cheese question has legs....

Geeks on Screens with Coffee Episode 2 - You've got a fiend in me...

This is the 2nd in my series of unsocial experiments.

After a long and busy day, I rushed around, got chroma key sorted (thats the green screen to you and me) but the sound was dodgy...

I looked back and I had two devices recording my audio.... DOH! In this chat, I learn a lot about the cheese that Simon likes, which honestly to too much cheese.

I think he must be compensating for something.... (Thanks Mr Robson, I've made a rod for my own back with that question).

I think you can see my eyes glaze over, I honestly try and stay interested..but..its only cheese, right?

How not to get into a twitter storm, although I think we might have just started a new one.

Looks out for new events on the Microsoft Data London user group thingy he runs.

Any way, hassle him on the twitters https://twitter.com/MrSiWhiteley

Simon runs Advancing Analytics with Terry - https://www.advancinganalytics.co.uk/

Geeks on Screens with Coffee (Except I didn't have any) Episode 1 - A Phantom Menace.

I can(t) thank Ian ( @IanPike ) enough for giving me his time and face for the first in my series of social experiments.

After the recording/streaming stopped we talked for another 10 mins; which was so good, you just had to be there...
