Aidan O'Brien has trained his 250th group 1 winner as Minding cruised to an easy victory in the QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday.

The 11/10 favourite beat home stablemates Ballydoyle and Alice Springs for 1-2-3 in the fillies classic.

Victory made up for the disappointment of the run of odds on favourite Air Force blue in yesterday's 2000 Guineas.

Newmarket based Hugo Palmer has won his first British Classic as Galileo Gold has won the 2000 Guineas at 14/1 after a bold front running ride from Frankie Dettori at Newmarket.

It was a third win but first for 17 years for Dettori and for Palmer victory was a special moment.

Frankie Dettori has ridden his 3rd winner of the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday. 17 years after his last win he partnered the 14/1 chance Galileo Gold to an all the way success in the season's first Classic.

The win was a first English classic success for the Newmarket based trainer Hugo Palmer.

Profitable sprang a 20/1 surprise in winning the Group 3 Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on 2000 Guineas Day.

The 4 year old ridden by Adam Kirby and trained in Berkshire by Clive Cox powered home to grab victory on the line from Jungle Cat.

The horse appears to have an exciting future as a sprinter according to jockey Kirby as he told Rupert Bell.

Stormy Antartic overcame a horrendous thunder and lightning storm to win the premier 2,000 gns trial the Craven Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.

The race was run just moments after a huge bolt of lightning ensured there was no race commentary at the track and Stormy Antartic powered home out of the gloom to beat the odds on Favourite Foundation.

The Ed Walker trained winner has now earned a 12/1 quote for the 1st colt Classic of the year which is run back at Newmarket on the 30th April
