TRAVEL IN JAPAN Welcome to our podcast! This is Nagi and Riko. Today, we are going to talk about travel in japan.
N: First we have a question from Kevin. He wants to know Kevin - What are the 3 least visited prefectures in Japan and why?
R:According to a research on the internet, Fukui, Fukushima, Akita are the 3 least prefectures. What do you think why these are not popular? N:I think it is because there are no special places to visit and there is little information about these prefectures.
R:Hikaru- What is the coldest city in Japan? What kind of life do people have there? Is it very different from other places in Japan? Would you want to travel there?
N: According to a website, Rikubetsu city in Hokkaido is the coldest city in Japan. They live like us, but they have many ideas on how to live in cold areas. It is very different from other places because there is too much snow there. I want to go there someday.
N: Sawa - Which food is the best for you and where did you eat it?
N: Tonkotsu ramen is the best. I ate it in Fukuoka. R: I went to Chiba with my friends, and we ate seafood. The sashimi was really tasty.
R: Taisei- What prefecture do you recommend for a short trip and why?
N: I recommend Fukushima (Aizu) because it is close to Saitama. You can see old Japan and a huge castle. You also can eat delicious foods. Katsudon with the special sauce and Awa-Manju are especially tasty. In addition, there are not many tourists, so you can enjoy a quiet trip. R: The other day, I went to Chiba for a short trip. I think it is good for a short trip because you can get there in about 2 hours. There are many places to visit and the ocean is beautiful. The food is also nice. I recommend that you eat “kaisendon.”
N: Reiya- If you can travel to any prefecture for free, where do you want to travel and why?
R: I really want to go to Yakushima island because I want to see the Jomon Sugi which is the oldest and biggest tree on Yakushima island. It is said that the tree is at least 2000 years old. N: I want to go to Hokkaido because I have never been before and I want to eat sea urchin. I also want to see Goryokaku. It is a famous castle in Hokkaido.
R: Koki- What is the most beautiful place you have ever seen?
N: The beach on Tokashiki island,Okinawa is the most beautiful place. There are not many tourists, but a lot of jellyfish there. R: I have been to the beach on Kouri island, Okinawa in my school trip when I was a high school student. The island is famous for a heart shaped rock. The sea was emerald green and it was a very beautiful place. I want to visit there again.
N: Haruko- Which do you prefer, traveling by train or traveling by airplane? Why?
R: I like to travel by train because I can enjoy the local views. N: Mee too. Also, a train is easier to change plans. It is more reasonable.
R: EIme - Have you ever traveled by yourself in Japan? Where are the best places to travel alone?
N: I sometimes travel by myself. I recommend Kyoto. Kyoto is an old Japanese location, so you have to travel quietly. R: I traveled to Yamanashi by myself this summer. There were some beautiful lakes in Yamanashi and I enjoyed cycling around these lakes. It was a nice place to travel alone.
N: Shiori- When is the best time of year to travel in Japan?
R: I think autumn is the best season. It is comfortable, not too hot and not too cold. Also, most sightseeing spots are not crowded. N: I think February is the best season because plane fares and hotels are cheap and it’s not crowded. However, you need to withstand the cold.
R: Emily- How often do you travel?
N: I travel once every six months R: I travel three times a year

K: First, we have a question from Taisei- Which Disney movie is your favorite? why?
S: My favorite movie is THOR. He is a prince of another realm. He is very strong, but his father sends him to Earth to learn to be wise. It’s interesting that he interacts with earthlings and changes through the experiences there. How about you? K: My favorite movie is Star Wars because that movie made my childhood. Also, I still love Star Wars. I can't wait for EP.9 "Rise of Skywalker" S: Oh, I want to watch Star Wars series! It looks fun!
S: Next question is from Shiori- Who is your favorite disney movie character? why?
S: Jamin is cute and I also like her, but my favorite character is Judy from “Zootopia” because she is a hard worker. She is a small rabbit and people made fun of her dream to become a police officer. But she worked hard and finally realized her dream. Also, I like rabbits, so I like her appearance. K:My favorite character is Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin” because she had strong opinion Whatever the people around her say.
K: Riko - Which “Aladdin” do you prefer, animated version or live-action one and Why?
S: I like both of them, but I prefer the live-action version. This is because the costumes and the castle are gorgeous, and the songs are powerful. I was impressed by them in the theater. K: I can't answer this question because I’ve only watched the animated version, that is one of my favorite movies. So I want to watch the live-action version some day.
S: Haruko- What kind of story do you want to watch next?
S:I want to watch people who come from another world like Thor or Enchanted. K: I want to see an Asian themed movie like "Mulan"
K: Hikaru-Which disney movies are the most boring and why?
S: I’ve never watched such a movie. However, “Cars” and “Coco” look boring, so I’m not going to watch them. K: I think "Coco" is a nice movie though... For me, ”Robin Hood” was a boring movie because the movie script was monotonous. To be honest, I fell asleep while watching this movie.
S: Reiya-What is the worst Disney movie?
S: I heard “Chicken Little” is one of the worst movies because the story is boring and the characters are not impressive. K: I think "Saludos Amigos" is not a good movie right now because these days, such an outdated depiction of Latin Americans could be considered racist.
K: Emily-Who do you think is the scariest disney villain?
S: I think Ursula is the scariest because she took away Ariel’s voice and tried to be a princess with it. K: I think Scar is the scariest villain because he is greedy. He tried to kill the lion prince because he wants to be a king.
S: Nagi - Why is Mickey Mouse the most famous character?
S: In my opinion, the reason is that he is cool and kind to everyone. He is sometimes clumsy, but that’s also the reason why he is loved by people all over the world. K: I think he is the first character made by Walt Disney.
K: Kevin - What are the top 3 most successful Disney movies ever and why were they successful?
box office S: Frozen: ¥25,220,000,000 (25 billion 220 million) The number one reason is that the songs are really appealing and catchy. S: Finding Nemo: ¥11,000,000,000 (11 billion) We are thrilled by Nemo’s adventure and each character has different characteristics. K: Toy Story 3: ¥10,800,000,000 (10billion 800milion) Because this movie focuses on the role of toys and it treats villains carefully.
S: Eime - Why are Disney movies so famous around the world and which element of the movies do you like best (eg, music, style, characters, etc)?
S: I think that’s because the characters, especially princesses always have hope and do not give up on their dreams. This element attracts people and that’s why I like Disney movies. K: Because of localized strategy. Disney studios have departments which specialize in making subtitles or dubbing and so on.

Kevin - Do you think this relationship will last forever? Why / why not? H: I think that the relationship won’t last forever because I’ve seen that many celebrities are repeatedly dating and breaking up, so I think they will not last long. E:I don't know but I hope this relationship will last forever because they really love each other. Nagi - Who is Camila & Shawn? H: His name is Shawn Mendes. He is a Canadian singer, songwriter and model. He is 21 years old. He debuted in 2014. His genres are pop, folk-pop and pop rock. He can play the guitar and piano.
E: Camila Cabello was born on March 3rd,1997. She is a Cuban American singer, songwriter and actress. She was a member of the group Fifth Harmony but on January 12th, 2018 she became a solo singer. According to Wikipedia her second single "Never Be the same" reached the top 10 in several countries. Riko - What do you think about their Instagram post? E I think one particular post is kind of gross, but funny. It is a short video of them making fun of the way they kiss (like fish). I thought that Japanese people definitely can’t do that kind of thing in front of the public and I felt that they don’t mind what people said and rather than taking it seriously, they made it silly instead. Sawa - How did they meet each other? H First time they meet at Austin Mahone concert. Shawn didn’t talk to anyone but Camila talked to him first. Camila was thinking to hangout with him. Hikaru- What did they do to become famous? E I think that camila became solo artist from fifth harmony makes famous. On the other hand, Shawn became famous by singing in a folk pop style and he also plays the guitar while he sings. This is an uncommon, exceptional skill that separates him from everyone else. Koki- What’s their paparazzi situation? What do you think about the paparazzi? H One day the paparazzi was waiting for them to walk out to their car following a shopping trip and they came out of the store wearing Halloween masks. Shawn was wearing a bald baby head while Camilla was wearing a beautiful unicorn head. At one point, she stopped and posed for the paparazzi. I think it depends. There are different kinds of paparazzi. When the paparazzi keep taking pictures, it’s so annoying and degrading but some celebrities are happy to have pictures taken of their outfits so it depends on the paparazzi and celebrities. Taisei- Which do you like more, CAMILA or SHAWN? Why? E H: I like Shawn more because I like his songs, his music style and his personality. E:I like Camila because she is cute and I like her voice when she is singing. Shiori- When did they start dating? E Actually, we’re not sure,they denied they were dating before but their duet song called Senorita came up in 2019 and after that it became clear that they are dating. Probably, the relationship has continued until now for less than a year. Reiya- Why did you ladies choose this topic? E Because we like their songs and we often talk about their relationship, because their pictures, which are taken by paparazzi, are very famous on Instagram. We also admire their relationship.

1:Riko - What is the most famous basketball tournament in the world? The tournament was created in 1939 by the National Association of Basketball. 2:Koki- Please tell me more about the NBA. What is it? When did it start? How many teams are there? National Basketball Association NBA is the largest and most elite basketball league in the world. It is a palace for people who love basketball. It was started in 1946, at first it only had 11 teams but now, NBA has 30 teams and they are divided into the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Every season every team has 82 matches for regular season and each conference selects 8 of the best teams for the playoffs. Semifinals determine the best team in each conference and only one team could get the Final Championship Rings. 3:Sawa - Which do you like better, playing or watching? Why? Watching. Watching basketball is more exciting than playing it. We are not good players in basketball but we can enjoy the time when we watch the NBA match. 4:Hikaru- Who is the most famous basketball player? Why do you think he is the most famous? Michael Jordan. He won six championships and got 5 MVPs, watching his game is more like watching his own personal show. He promoted basketball to the world. He is not only a player but a flag for basketball. This position handles the ball and attacks more excitingly It is a pleasure to watch them play, both their skills and their versatile attacks represent the highest level in the world.
8:Kevin - Who do you think is going to win the NBA championship this season and why? The Lakers! Lebron is still one of the most dominant players, and this season the Lakers have got very good inside players like Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard. Even though they are still settling in, I think the Lakers can go far.
I think the Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo(Greek Freak) won MVP last year. He has long arms so he can get any rebound (and he can dunk from the free throw line). Also he moves quickly and he is tall. He is a versatile player. 9:Nagi - Do you think Rui Hachimura is a good player? Will he be an All-Star someday? Why / why not? We watched his video and his physical position is very good and I think after giving this rookie some years, he could be a good player. But he has to work harder to stand out. Too many players need a big chance to show themselves.

And the married couple John and Jane Smith appear to be normal at first glance. However, each has been hiding a secret that they are assassins working for rival organizations. When they are both assigned to kill the same target, they noticed the truth. 1.My favorite movie is Titanic. 2.It’s a romance. 3.I watched for the first time when I was in junior high school. My dad was watching it on TV and I watched with him. 4.I like this movie because it moved me a lot. This story is not fake, so when I saw this, I felt so sad and angry and I felt the love between Rose and Jack. 5.This movie came out in 1997. 6. I’ve seen it 3 times. I could watch it forever. 7.I would not get on the ship because I don’t wanna die. 8.My favorite quote is “I figure life’s a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You never know what hand you’re gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you, to make each day count”. I like this quote because I agree with it. We don’t know what is going to happen in the future. We don’t know when we are going to die, so we need to enjoy our lives this moment. You don't get the same moment twice in life. So it’s important to live now then you will never regret it. 9.My favorite character is Jack. He is such a gentleman and he’s so handsome. Also I like how he approaches Rose. 11.My most favorite scene is when Rose tried to jump off the ship. She didn’t like her life. Her mother wanted to be rich so her mother was forcing her to marry a rich man but she didn’t like him. She wanted to be herself but she couldn’t. She had to go to the same party always. That’s why she was tired of living and tried to die. But when Rose try to commit suicide, Jack said to her “You let go and I’m gonna have to jump in there after you” this was so romantic I thought. 12.I will recommend this movie to my friends if they haven’t seen it yet. I think this movie makes us think about how people should spend their lives so I think my friends should watch it.

While I was watching this movie, I got really excited. Also this movie is not only action. The main part of this movie is full of action scenes but other parts are about friendships between family which consists of Dominic Torerro's friends. These friends are the closest friends in the movie. Dominic is a main character of the FF. He is called Dom in the movie. The family's bond is strong and no one becomes a traitor. This is what I love about this movie. 5. First movie came out in 2001 6. I don’t remember. Many times 7. I want to drive super cars as fast as I can. 8. You don't turn your back on family. Even when they do by Dominic Toretto. This quote shows how Dom loves his friends. 9. I like Roman Pearce the most. I like his personality. He is so funny but he’s a thoughtful character. 10. I like Vin Diesel. He is cool and he is macho. 11. My favorite scene is the last scene of fast and furious 7. While shooting this movie, Paul Walker died by accident so this movie is the last one for Paul. In the last scene of this movie Dom said “It’s never goodbye”. It’s really moving. 12. Answers by Riko Since I was 5 years old, I have been learning to dance, and my teacher really liked Michael Jackson so I always danced to his songs. (what was the song you danced to for the first time?)The song I danced to for the first time was “Smooth Criminal.” Whenever I heard the song, I got excited. It is one of my favorites. My favorite song is “We are the World” because it is related to world peace and makes me think about it. Do you know about a project called “U.S.A for Africa” Many famous artists from around the U.S sang the song together, and they donated all the money of the proceeds. 10 years, since I was 9 years old. I love everything about him. Actually, I didn’t know about him when he passed away. I watched a lot of news reports about him at that time, and I understood how wonderful he was and I got interested in him. Never
I like the Jackson 5, my favorite song is I want you back, it makes me feel happy. Also, many artists did a cover of their song. My favorite music video is Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough. It is an old music video and it was released in 1979. I feel like I’m in an old disco in the 1980’s. Also I like the part when he multiplies into 3 MJs. I like costume of “Thriller.” He puts on red leather clothes in the video. I like the combination of red and black. That’s really cool!
Answers by Koki My father likes MJ. He listens to his music a lot. So we listen together. My favorite song is "History." Because, You can hear the date in the song. When I first listened to this song, I thought these numbers were meaningless. but each one has meaning. (What does it mean?) For example, "Day when Beethoven died", "Day when Disneyland opened", "The day John F Kennedy was born" and so on. When I realized this, I was surprised. He was so great! 11 years. Since I was 7 years old. It's kind of a difficult question for me... Because I like everything about him. If I had to focus on one thing, it would be his performance. He is a great singer and dancer. Also, He loved people who live in the world. Especially children. He built an amusement park for children. I don't know such a kind person. Unfortunately, when he died, I got to know him more. Since then, I’ve realized how great he was. Yes I have. It is one of my favorite movies! I could see the background of stage, Also How MJ and his team are great. My favorite song by The Jackson 5 is "I'll be there ." Listening to this song makes me feel encouraged by Michael. I like music video of The Black or White. This song is MJ's opinion about racism using rock music. (Which part do you like?) I like the last part. People from all over the world are singing and dancing with his music. And they look happy! I like costume of "Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough." The dancer's body line is illuminated with LEDs, so you can see what kind of dance They are doing on a dark stage.

J-POP Hello everyone. We are going to talk about J-POP. First, we have a question from Kevin. He wants to know Who is most successful J-Pop artist of all time? Why do you think they are so successful? S: I think SMAP. They made their CD debut in 1991 and dissolved in 2016. They have received support from young and old men and women, who have created various booms and social phenomena, by sending out entertainment from many different worlds including variety, music, drama, movies and sports. People called them “national idols”. T: I think Taka of ONE OK ROCK is the most successful. He joined Johnny's office and became an idol. His talent was great, but he was bullied by other Johnny's members and withdrew. After that, he formed a new band. Also he learned English so his lyrics contain a lot of English. As a result, ONE OK ROCK spread around the world. H:I think ARASHI is the most successful. ARASHI is known throughout the world and they have held a concert in Hawaii.
Next, from Eime. He wants to know Eime - Who is your favorite singer and which song do you like best? T: My favorite singer is AAA and song is LOVER. S: My favorite singer is Aimer. She is a solo artist. Her voice is very beautiful and husky. Brave Shine is my favorite song. H:My favorite singer is Back number. My favorite song is Happy birthday.

Nagi 1.I like Disney sea 2.Because I can enjoy different eras and locations. Sawa Land It’s easy to walk around because DL’s shape is round. Also, the scenery is cuter than DS. ( how about you) (Same) Twice a year I recommend a spring roll sold in TOONTOWN. You can choose egg and shrimp flavor or pizza flavor. Both of them are very tasty, but be careful because it’s too hot! I like the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall in Fantasy land. ( and you?) I like Splash Mountain because I’m excited by the story. In addition, this roller coaster is the fastest in Land. I love Minnie Mouse. She is the cutest in the world. Character’s onigiri kit.You can make cute rice balls with it. I like eating the park foods and riding attractions. Halloween! I love the decorations and the original foods. Also, guests can enjoy cosplaying. Take a FP of Splash Mountain at first, and ride Pooh’s Hunny Hunt. I’ve seen the Electrical parade. However, I wanted to focus on riding attractions, so I have only seen it a little. I definitely want to ride Splash Mountain!! I think TOONTOWN is the best place to take pictures. NO. ( why not) I want to just enjoy spending time there as a Guest. Beauty and the Beast’s area. I only saw the new town a little bit, but it was so beautiful!

Hello everyone. I’m Eime. I’m Shiori. Welcome to our podcast. We are university students and today we are going to talk about university.
1:Do you enjoy your school life? I enjoy my school life because I can meet my friends and learning English is fun. Also, I can make friends from other countries. So, I’m shy. But my friends from other countries have very bright personalities. They make me have a bright personality. But some things are not enjoyable because I hate trains. It is not good for me to take a crowded train every morning. 2:What are you studying? Mostly English and Japanese, but also other subjects I am interested in, like education. I want to learn many things I am interested, and all of my knowledge can help me in the future. 3:Are you stressed out about school? I am stressed about getting enough credits. I need 124 credits to graduate from university. It’s very stressful for me not to be absent or to have to take exams. Also, I’m always late getting home because there are only two trains an hour for me to take. I’m always tired and I don’t have much time to work. 4:Should the school day start later? I don’t like to wake up early so school should begin at 12.pm and finish at 4.pm. In school you have to use your brain to think about the answers for each question, so it costs more energy than physical exercise. 5:What memorable experiences have you had in school? My most memorable experience was going to the United States for a month. I went to the shopping mall and watched a movie a homestay family. I had a friend who told me a lot of things, though I did not often understand English. It was an experience that made me want to speak English more. 6: What do you want to try? First, I want to make friends with native English speakers and then I can imitate their pronunciation, in the hopes that I can improve my English. Second, parachute jumping. I really like to look around from high places, I would enjoy the moment when I fly in the sky like a bird.
7:How much time do you spend in school?(homework.etc) I spent about four hours a day at school and doing homework. I’m taking classes from the second to the fourth period. I am always busy with my homework, but it’s easy. 8:Do you think it’s better to join a social circle or work?
It is necessary to get a part time job I think, for improving your communication skills and changing your mood. At a job you can understand what the difference is between the university and society. Also you can get extra money for your daily life. Also, the best way to learn a new language is to talk with local speakers, so for me it is a good way to learn Japanese. 9:Do you think your major can help you in the future? I think yes, my major can help me because I want to work in a foreign country in the future. I think learning about foreign cultures and other information is very important. 10:What is your goal in your school life? At this university, I just want to get enough credits to finish it. In the future I’m opening my own store, so I don’t want to waste more time in school. I have to go to work. 11:Do you want to find a job connected to your major? I think that it is important that my major connects with my job. I want to work abroad. Therefore I am studying as an English communication major. After I improve my English skills, I want to find a job in animal protection. 12:Do you think English could help you when you opening a store?
Yes, English could help me a lot. In recent years, more and more foreigners have been coming to Japan and they like to live here. If you can speak more than one language then that means more opportunity. I can provide better service to them.
