Pulse of the Prairie 2025Had a most excellent time out on the prairie lands playing upstart festival / renegade Pulse of the Prairie for my Colorado debut. Several CO crews assembled to bring out a solid taste of the local sound system culture across multiple stages, and I had the pleasure of playing this short but sweet set starting during the last traces of sunset on Dux Audio's Paraflex rig which was sounding absolutely lovely. Even better though was partying with a great crew of like-minded, up-for-it folks for a few days. Massive thanks to the Dux crew for the fam-style hospitality, and shouts to all the new homies! Hope you all enjoy this one - straight groovers with a nice variety of flavors sprinkled in ❤️ Tracklist:1. Somersault - Yousful [Gruuv]2. Aron Volta and Somersault - Escalate [Pitch Records]3. Moth to Flame (Valentine's Day 2025 Special)You tread down a dimly lit corridor that opens to a hazy room subtly illuminated by red bulbs and candlelight, hesitating at the threshold. The intoxicating aroma of incense hangs in the air. Ethereal music plays gently in the background. The ambiance draws you in. A soft touch. A spark. You're coaxed into a fugue state, beckoned to let your inhibitions dissolve, hypnotized. Resistance is futile. You let go, and now you're entranced - a moth to flame... Two hours of silky, smoldering, sensual selections with a dark edge. A deep house-centric trip blending lush atmospherics, raw, minimal grooves and lo-fi touches. Originally conceived of as part of a three-movement set exploring different aspects of intimacy, I ultimately decided to let the first movement, this set, stand on its own. I always aim to capture a certain vibe when I record, but this one really hits the mark. One of my best I think. Hope you enjoy, and happy Valentine's Day ♥️Tracklist:1. Flow State A mental state in which a person is fully immersed in an activity, experiencing deep focus and enjoyment, where one feels energized and engaged, losing track of time and self-consciousness. This mix features a range of groove-forward sounds to elicit a flow state in the listener, ranging from fluid hi-fi to acid-inflected lo-fi bits, with moods that shift from resolute and deep to bordering-on-irreverent and upfront. Generally suffused with floaty pads and underpinned throughout with solid grooves - "When you feel it, you will understand". Hope you enjoy 💗Much love,DelficTRACKLIST:1. Fractured HeightsBeen really enjoying expanding the sonic lately, and took this mix as an opportunity to continue doing that. I’ve sprinkled in some breakbeat in my sets over the years, but this is 1.5 hours of strictly spacey breaks goodness. Some true gems in here of varied textures, generally slowed down to the tempos that I tend to play in. When I first immersed myself in electronic music in the late 90’s-early 00’s my main love was jungle and atmospheric DnB, bookended by heavy rotations of quality hip-hop. This is probably the first mix I’ve posted where those influences can be heard underpinning the sound. Hope you enjoy the journey, and planning to be back in February with a set of silky cuts in time for Valentine’s Day <3Much love,DelficTRACKLIST: 1.Heathered Pearls - Under the Bridge (Baltra Remix) [Ghostly International]2. kemt - This Time Around [Lost Palms]3. 214 - Minds Alike (A Tribute) [Frustrated Funk]4. LiminalismDrawing inspiration from the changing seasons as the days get shorter and cooler, this set features tracks in a range of deep styles that alone or together dance along the border of consciousness/unconsciousness, that give the feeling of floating far away from your physical form but not completely out of sight, and that embody the moments of transition between sunset and dusk, dusk and night. Great tunes spanning a range of BPMs over the course of the journey.Hope you enjoy <3Much love,Delfic TRACKLIST:1. Sensual PhysicsHi there friends :) After more than three years away from the decks, I'm very happy to be back with you, if you're still out there, with a new set. Personal life and the weight of the world really sapped me my desire to play over the last few years, and during most of the COVID era I hardly consumed any music at all. Going to shows and seeing friends again over the last year has really helped reenergize me on the music front and I've managed to fit in a fair bit of digging over the last six months, which brings me here.Inspired by PiHKAL, dissociation, hushed tones and a soft touch, this set traverses a broad range of BPMs and textures ripe for a proper journey alone or with a close companion. Downtempo, deep house, dubby beats and amorphous electronica all make appearances, channeling the heavens, the sea and subterranean realms, and bringing forth contrasting yet complimentary aesthetics - sullen/uplifting, dusty/polished, organic/synthetic, subtle/authoritative. All great tunes, but special shout outs to Canson for his remix of Just Emma's and Zazou's "Baltic Sea", which I've wanted to include in a set for years, and Cornucopia (Guy J) for his remix of Volen Sentir's "The Great Escape" - two of my favorite tracks for sure. Big up Seven Villas as well, with four tracks from the label included here, and the producer Sensual Physics who this set is named after. Hope you enjoy <3 Much love,DelficTRACKLIST:1. Medicine
"One good thing about music, when it hits, you feel no pain". One of my favorite lyrics, and one that has resonated deeply with me over the last few months, which have seen more than their fair share of sad happenings. On many occasions I found myself feeling overwhelmed, only to have some sweet music-medicine take me away from whatever stress was consuming me. I've particularly been finding myself drawn to more groove-oriented tracks that are melodic but neither too dark nor too light - tracks that don't really force me into any specific state of mind and just let me be. This mix features some of those medicinal tracks that I’ve collected during the recent past, and I’m super happy to share it with you all after so many months away from the decks. Hope you enjoy ❤
As always, props to all the producers and labels featured.
Much love, Delfic

Chemistry 002
For the second entry in my Chemistry mix series, I'm thrilled to have joined forces with Montreal-based selector Mike Haddad to bring you 2+ hours of proper deepness. Mike holds down a monthly show on friskyRadio, is a resident for Husa Sounds, and has contributed guest mixes to many top notch podcasts, including Mousikē, Schirmchendrink, Elektro Uwe, Magician on Duty and Ethereal Kollektiv. Our mutual tastes in deep and melodic electronic music made this collaboration a natural choice, and we're feeling the results of our combined efforts on this one. Mike kicks things off and slowly builds the vibe for the first half and I take the reins around the 1:19:00 mark for the duration. Hope you all enjoy the journey!
Much love, Delfic & Mike

For A Daydream: Love (Lost)
Greetings friends. It's been a while since I've recorded a set for my For A Daydream series, but happy to have this new entry in the books. This mix explores familiar themes of love and love lost. A few luminous moments here for sure, but suffused with the overall somber vibe that I tend to gravitate toward. Lots of pretty tracks included in this set which I had been saving for my annual Valentine's Day mix that I unfortunately couldn't find the time to record. No sense in letting them languish unused in the crates though :) Hope ya'll enjoy it! <3
As always, props to all the producers and labels featured.

The Expectant Father
I know it's been a bit quiet over here, but for good reason, as I've been working around the clock with missus to prepare for the birth of our first child, Sage. With only 2 weeks or so until we expect her to arrive, I carved out some precious time to record this new set, "The Expectant Father".
This mix is dedicated first to Sage, and second to my wife who has been so amazing over the last 8 months and who requested a Sage-inspired set soon after we got the amazing news (the first set she's ever requested I think!). It's hard to put into words the range of thoughts and emotions I've experienced leading up to this point, but a few prominent ones come to mind: adoration, excitement, anticipation, trepidation, turbulence, hopefulness. My aim with this set was to capture some of those feelings with a selection of awe inspiring, tender, playful, and somewhat mysterious tracks. Naturally, it kicks off with a sample of Sage's heartbeat from a field recording I made while at one of our recent doctor appointments! Sage's first contribution to the music world :) I had a lot of fun recording this one and hope you enjoy it as much as I do <3
As always, props to all the producers and labels featured.

Chemistry 001
One of the things I've always appreciated most about music is its ability to bring people together. For most of my life, that has manifested in music facilitating my connections with others in my capacity as a listener, whether by conjuring a special moment for me to share with a fellow reveler on a dance floor, prompting discussion about societal issues or serving as a marker in time to reminisce with friends over. Since I started DJing two years ago, I've discovered the pleasure of not only connecting with the crowd but with fellow DJs and producers on a creative level. It's interesting to see where tastes overlap and to hear how music that is on the fringes of each other's tastes can combine in a synergistic way to create a compelling whole. With this in mind, and wanting to change up my usual approach a bit, I reached out to my talented friend @Subcora to collaborate with me on what I hope will be only the first set in a recurring mix series called "Chemistry".
Each mix in the series will be a joint effort between me and another house/techno DJ who I respect. From initial conception of the vibe, to track selections, to arrangement and recording, a fellow curator and I will collaborate to bring you something that is generally within our mutual ranges but perhaps slightly beyond the bounds of our typical styles.
For episode one, I've linked up with Subcora, a Liverpool/Istanbul based DJ with a love for tribal-inspired deep house. Subcora has contributed mixes to podcasts such as @deepist, @dreamcultureofficial, @deepklassified, @sunsetgrooves and @zeroparty. We're pleased with the fruits of our labor, and hope you enjoy as well!

Black Rock Vision
The music of Burning Man has had a significant impact on my direction as a DJ and, with the burn (and Oregon Eclipse) rapidly approaching, I wanted to put together a set that would amplify the anticipation and excitement that so many of my friends are feeling as the time to go "home" draws near. The setting that I had in mind when I recorded this was deep playa after the sun has set and dusk has almost completely faded to night. A nice range of sounds in this one, starting off with deep house and moving into predominately progressive territory, with a healthy dose of tribal rhythms and vocal elements throughout. I hope you enjoy! My Burning Man special from last year is available here if you want to check it out: https://soundcloud.com/delfic/delfic-the-jackrabbit-speaks-burning-man-special .

Interstellar
One of my favorite things about the summer is the opportunities it affords to enjoy the night sky. There's always a bit of magic in the air around midnight when I'm camping far out in the woods, away from the bustle and light pollution of the city, surrounded by nothing but trees and stars, staring out into the infinite. This set is inspired by those moments. A collection of recent tracks of the deep house, progressive and techno varieties that brings to mind the sensation of leaving Earth's atmosphere, the feeling of weightlessness as gravity dissipates, and the unfathomable vastness of the universe. I hope it serves you well. ✨

For A Daydream (Part I - April Showers)
With winter's grip finally loosening in New York and the anticipation of warm summer days beginning to creep in, I often find myself daydreaming of time outdoors - day parties, beach outings, hiking, all that good stuff. The rain showers that roll through around this time and relegate me to the indoors lend a wistful quality to those musings and served as the inspiration for this set, which features a series of dreamy, melancholic, melody-centric tracks. This is another one geared more toward personal listening sessions than the dance floor. I hope you enjoy. Keep a look out in May for Part II which will maintain this dreamy quality but deliver sunnier vibes.

Live @ Outsiders
This is my set from the night of March 3, 2017, laying it down with the Outsiders fam at Ceremony (Brooklyn, NY). It’s a very new party - this was only the second installment - but the vibe is already on point. Was such a pleasure to play to a sold-out dancefloor full of good energy and smiling faces. Wish I could have played longer! The set starts with a deep house groove sensibility carried over from the opening set and progresses through a variety of more driving deep and tech-house flavors, with progressive and deep tech touches throughout the second half that steered the vibe towards the heavier sounds that dominated the remainder of the night. Whether you’re reliving the party or hearing it for the first time, I hope you enjoy!

The Embrace
Following on a string of podcasts for @mydrecords, @schirmchendrink, @west-coast-podcast, @sunset-grooves and @newgrooves, here's the first mix that I've recorded for my personal page since August - "The Embrace".
Crafted with Valentine's Day in mind, this set is a mellowed trip through tender, melancholy-tinged deep house tracks from the recent past, designed for intimate fireside listening sessions with a lover or a nice glass of wine (preferably both). Decidedly gentler than my recent offerings but with the deep and melodic stamp that marks all of my sets, I hope you enjoy.

The Jackrabbit Speaks (Burning Man 2016 Special)
The music of Burning Man holds a special place in my heart. The rhythms and melodies coming out of sound/art camps like @robot-heart and @whiteoceanofficial have had a significant impact on my direction as a DJ, with the Robot Heart 2013 set from @atish and @mcslee marking a turning point in my musical journey. In the month leading up to this year's burn, I wanted to put together a set that would amplify the anticipation and excitement that all of my burner buds are undoubtedly feeling as August 28 approaches. The mandate was simple - arrange a series of grin-inducing tracks for moments of love, hugs, ass shaking and ecstasy in the dust. This mix is the product of that mandate. I hope you enjoy!

Live @ Devotion: Astral Oasis (w/ @hyenahmusic, @tuckahoe and @whiteowljaguar)[July 9, 2016]
Each time that the Dévotion tribe gathers there is magic in the air, and the cosmos were dripping with it this night. What was meant to be a two hour opening performance started a bit late as mother nature was thoroughly drenching the open air garden venue where the festivities were to commence. By 11:30 the skies were yielding their last drops and the homie @djostro ushered me under a tarp that was covering the gear to start my set. Two songs later the clouds parted, revealing the Astral Oasis that would be our home well into the morning. Tarp now pulled back, I delivered this set to a crowd of beautiful Dévotees. The opening slot gave me the opportunity to showcase some of the deeper and slower tracks that I’ve been enjoying before moving into heavier territory. Melodic and deep as ever. I hope you enjoy. I'm releasing this set in celebration of reaching 10,000 plays collectively on the seven sets that I've posted to date - thank you for all of your support!

Coastal (Part I - Golden Hour).
The period shortly before sunset is referred to by photographers as the "golden hour" - the time during which daylight is redder and softer than when the Sun is higher in the sky. When the sun is near the horizon, sunlight travels through a greater depth of atmosphere, reducing the intensity of the direct light, so that more of the illumination comes from indirect light. Shadows are less dark, and highlights are toned down. This set is designed to transport you to a warm, coastal location during the golden hour. Strictly good, breezy deep house vibes. I hope you enjoy. It's Part I of a series that I'm doing called "Coastal". Part II will feature tracks geared towards sunset. Stay tuned.

Pressure
This mix is the winner of West Coast Podcast's 2016 Mixtape Contest - endless gratitude for all of your support! I'll be putting together a fresh set for WCP in the coming months that will be featured alongside mixes from some of my favorite selectors and producers in the game.
An intense, melodic, deep tech workout from start to finish, this set is a good counterbalance to the softer and more contemplative sets from my recent Sakura series (https://soundcloud.com/delfic/sakura-part-i-hanami-004-april-2016 and https://soundcloud.com/delfic/sakura-part-ii-yozakura-may-2016). Unyielding and designed to leave you breathless. Sakura (Part II - Yozakura)
The sakura represents the beauty and fragility of life, serving as a visual reminder of how precious and precarious our existence on this plane is. Hanami, the Japanese tradition of enjoying the transient beauty of the sakura's flowers, is practiced during the tree's two week blooming period and generally consists of having outdoor parties beneath the sakura. Hanami at night, or yozakura, is enjoyed in many places throughout Japan, aided by paper lanterns that illuminate the sakura. This set is my expression of yozakura through a lense of deep house. Dreamy, somber tracks made for drifting and enjoying the spring air and reflecting on the ephemeral nature of life. This is Part II of a two part series. Part I is available here https://soundcloud.com/delfic/sakura-part-i-hanami-004-april-2016. The series is dedicated to those who lost their lives in the earthquakes that hit Japan in April 2016 - R.I.P.

Sakura (Part I - Hanami)
The sakura represents the beauty and fragility of life, serving as a visual reminder of how precious and precarious our existence on this plane is. Hanami, the Japanese tradition of enjoying the transient beauty of the sakura's flowers, is practiced during the tree's two week blooming period and generally consists of having outdoor parties beneath the sakura. This set is my expression of hanami through a lense of deep house. Dreamy, atmospheric tracks made for drifting and enjoying the spring air, reflecting on beauty and blessings. This is Part I of a two part series. Part II will capture yozakura (hanami at night), with a more somber and mournful approach. The series is dedicated to those who lost their lives in the earthquakes that hit Japan last week - R.I.P.

Crystalline
This is a set for exploring crystalline landscapes - frozen expanses of shimmering, snow dusted tundra, deep chambers of ice caves and blizzard stricken glaciers. Solemn, placid tracks give way to beats fraught with relentless momentum. I hope you enjoy.

Prelude
This mix is a proper introduction to some of the sounds that inspire me. Deep, melodic and techy vibes throughout, this set also features a healthy dose of vocal-oriented tracks. Melancholic to euphoric, couch to dance floor - I hope you enjoy.
