This year, I set myself a lofty goal: to reclaim the peak fitness I had achieved back in 2019. It was a year filled with epic cycling achievements, including the Ironman 70.3 Mallorca, Tour of Wessex, L'Ătape du Tour, and Ironman 70.3 Weymouth. My aim? To achieve a formidable FTP (Functional Threshold Power) of 260 Watts. However, after a gruelling year of training, I learned the importance of training smarter, not harder, to reach my fitness goals.
In this week's episode, I break down the steps that helped me get back to my peak fitness and beyond to conquer the Dragon Ride and more.

One crucial factor that can help you cycle faster and recover quicker is managing your weight. If you're serious about enhancing your cycling performance, then let's talk about why shedding those extra pounds should be your top priority.
Sure, you can spend countless hours pushing yourself in the gym or on the turbo trainer to increase your FTP (Functional Threshold Power), but that could take months of hard work. To help you along the way, I'll share some essential tips that have proven effective for my clients. By incorporating these steps into your lifestyle, you'll find it easier to bring your weight down and enhance your cycling prowess.

Welcome to Monday Morning Motivation.
Coming to you every Monday morning to kick start your week to achieve your goals and be the best version of yourself.
Today we focus on getting your 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day.Â
There are lots of ideas of how to include more fruit and vegetable into your diet to achieve the guidelines of at least 5 x 80-gram portions a day. Remember they are full of vitamins &minerals, an excellent source of dietary fibre and low in fat. They can be fresh, frozen, canned or dried (but potatoes don't count as they are mainly starch).Â
Add fruit to cereal / low-fat yoghurt for breakfast, try berries or chopped banana.
Add grilled mushrooms or tomatoes to scrambled eggs have sticks of cucumber, carrot or pepper with a low-fat hummus dip as a snacked chopped veg to your favourite meals, like carrots in bolognaise or peas in mashed beans into salads
Choose vegetable or tomato-based sauce over creamy alternatives
Share your pictures of your 5 a day attempts with us on Instagram this week with the hashtag #plantpoweredshow

But these very things that we think are making our lives better, are in fact could the reason why we are being increasingly unhealthy and overweight. Â

Welcome to episode 028 of The Plant-Based Revolution Podcast. In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing my friend Perry Power.
A different episode to most as I wanted to touch on the issue of masculinity in men and what masks we use to fit in with society.
It was great to have a new friend on the show where we connected at a recent mastermind event. His story was very powerful to us all at the event and I felt it would be great to share with you today.
This is a very raw and honest interview so I hope you enjoy. Here is a little more about Perry.
âWith a history of sexual abuse and losing his father just over a year ago, Perry has managed to use these dark times and turn it into lightness in order to inspire others to do the same.
Believing that our âmess is our messageâ, Perry walks us through how we each have a unique story and hidden power, which we need to find in order to become the best version of ourselves.â
