  1. Achebe is focusing on the remarkable portrayal of denizens of Africa in Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness.
  2. These people were the wanderers on a prehistoric earth who fancied themselves to be the first men taking possession of an accursed inheritance, to be subdued at the cost of profound anguish and of excessive toil.
  3. He has given a dark image of the life of these African people who lived a terrible life enduring so much of hardships.
  4. They were cut off from the comprehension of their surroundings and behaved as if they were suddenly thrown into a world that could be considered as a madhouse.
  5. They were always reminiscing about their past, trying hard to recollect the memories of the night of first ages.
  6. Now it about the earth that seemed unearthly. They conceived earth as a shackled form of conquered monster that now appears to be free.
  7. The unearthly place was inhabited by men who were regarded as inhuman. Albeit, they appeared and acted weirdly, they thrilled the onlooker that would enable them to ponder on the remote kinship with this wild and passionate uproar.
