So grab a cup of coffee and tune in to conversations that will encourage you, equip you, and point you back to the Truth of God's love for you.
On today's episode, I talk with Kerrie Siegl, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Mom to 3.5 year old and 7 year old. Kerrie has so much insight to offer as a mom to a school-aged kiddo with Autism and her years of experience working with children and families in mental health.
At the time of this interview, we are experiencing the worldwide COVID pandemic. I ask Kerrie a lot of questions about how we can successfully navigate this hard time and preserve everyone's mental health as a family. Kerrie speaks to so many emotions we're all feeling right now and gives very practical strategies to help us get through this time, but honestly, everything we talk about is SO applicable for life no matter the season we're in. We cover everything from:
structuring our days to help set kiddos up for success behaviorally
dealing with mom guilt and overwhelm
what to do when your kids are grumpy and so are you
how to help kids and ourselves reset and regulate our emotions
communication strategies to keep the peace with our spouses and children
trusting God in the midst of uncertainty and winning the battle of the mind

It goes without saying, moms are busy! We’re on the go and so many things consume our attention. And at the very same time we desire a more personal walk with the Lord. We often just don't know how to go deeper amidst the chaos of motherhood. In this episode, Angela talks with Libby Pancake, founder of Dear Younger Me, a mentoring ministry for women. Libby is a seasoned mom recently turned grandma, and shares from her own journey of motherhood what it looked like to grow closer to the Lord. Angela and Libby discuss the difference between reading and studying the bible, practical ideas for spending time with God, how to prioritize that time, and how to find mentors. If you're feeling distant from God or overwhelmed at the idea of adding another task to your already full plate, this episode is just for you.
Libby encourages any momma listening to reach out to her to talk further. You can find her on Instagram @libpancake or you can private message her in the Dwelling in Truth community at Moms.DwellinginTruth.com.
