We spoke with a total of four new students on various back-to-school topics, such as schedules, exciting extracurriculars, and the various ways they’ve been connecting with the rest of their class over social media. School is starting in only 3 days, so both nerves and excitement are running through everyone’s veins!
In this impromptu episode, we discuss what growing up means to us, and the various things we’ve discovered as we grow. This is a perfect time to sit down with a blanket and a cup of tea and just relax.
We reviewed the student guidebook Exeter has released for the upcoming school year and were pleasantly surprised with how well prepared the rules are for making sure no one gets sick!
Today, we talk about the positives, negatives, and personal experiences regarding the political culture at Exeter with three current students: Janessa Vargas, Lally Lavin, and Blake Simpson.
Today, we interviewed The Exonian’s editor-in-chief, Anne Brandes, and managing editor, Felix Yeung! They tell us more about their work, what they’ve learned, and offer advice for students regarding both writing for the paper and high school in general. They are both wonderful mentors and have a lot to share!
We discuss what it means to glow up, specifically the mental aspect. We share anecdotes about our personal experiences with mentally glowing up, and how that sometimes involves more physical aspects of a person, such as wardrobe and even hygiene.
We interviewed nine incoming freshman about their thoughts on Exeter’s reopening plan and how they feel about the coming school year! We were so happy to have talked to all these amazing people, and we hope that some of your questions (new students, I’m looking at you) were answered!

Schools have started announcing plans for the fall to accommodate every’s health and to keep everyone safe. In this episode, we discuss Exeter’s reopening plan and how we feel about it. Obviously, it’s going to be tough to adjust because so many things are going to be different, but we are excited nonetheless.
We discuss the importance of exercise, the different types of exercise, and our personal preferences when it comes to exercising, as well as nutrition and our take on different diets and diet culture. Lastly, we discuss different health apps and whether they benefit you or not, and then we interview David Chen, who also attends Phillips Exeter, about long distance running and his favorite easy recipes (featuring construction in Lara’s house).
In this episode, we interview Julie, one of Lara’s good friends, to talk about a variety of issues within and outside of the LGBTQ+ community. We also interview Justin Li, the founder of the Love to All Project. He is a rising freshman in the Brown & RISD dual program, and he talks about his project and its impact.
In this episode, we talk all about college, our worries, and we even get some advice from a rising freshman at the University of South Carolina!
