For the past few weeks, I have been reflecting on the brilliant interview with Sonia Shah and Fareed Zakaria on CNN this past May 17th. This is easily one of the most thought provoking discussions that I have heard in a long time as it lays bare the sophisticated, delicate relationship between man and nature.

The US presidential election is the single most important event in 2020. Hence, it deserves special consideration right from the start. It will frame and define every other event. Americas is at the heart of the global power system. I believe what’s coming can be best understood through Yale political theorist Skowronek’s idea of transformational presidents.

I had the opportunity to call into the BBC program “Over to You” entitled “Uncovering the tell-tale signs of fake news” about “why BBC Monitoring published an online video with top tips on spotting fake news,” and was able to ask a question of an expert. You can find that link here.
So, this got me thinking - now, in this troubling time of internet media, what else could the BBC do to cost effectively battle fake news?
