Come join Simon and Anton as we awkwardly chat through life and faith to help you engage with God's word and God's people at Christchurch. We weren't kidding about the awkward bit.
In this final episode for Simon and Anton we take a moment to reflect, on our time doing the 6.45 pod and our time working at Christ Church. We also finish up trivia for the final time. Who will win?
What better topic to end on than thinking about the New Creation? Come and learn about why we love this doctrine. Join us next week for Anton and Simon's last episode of the 6.45 pod!
Have you ever wondered how the Bible was put together? And why can we trust it? This week Anton and Simon discuss exactly that.
This week is on sanctification, and how to understand it. We are sanctified by Jesus, but we also get the idea from the Bible that sanctification is a process. How does that work? Find out by having a listen!
We continue though our difficult doctrines series, and after looking at the trinity last week, this week we take a look at the nature of Jesus, and the different heresies about it. Don't worry, we brought our heresy bell along.
Join Anton and Simon as they continue looking at difficult doctrines, up this week: The Trinity. We chat about what it is, and maybe more importantly what it is not. And if there are any good metaphors to describe it....
We are back people! Season three is here! This season Anton and Simon chat through "Difficult Doctrines" starting with the classic difficult doctrine: predestination. Why do people have an issue with it, and why it's actually a great thing.
Well this is it! Season two comes to an end! We've spent the season talking about how we can live for God in every part of our lives, and in our final ep of the season we look back, over what we have learned, give a few people a call, and have a chat about what they've learned through the season two! And of course, we wrap up trivia!
Money. We find it awkward to talk about, we can't escape it, and we hear a lot of different ideas about how we as Christians should think about it. Join Simon and Anton in their final (regular) episode for season two as they discuss money, what the Bible says and how to live for God in how we use our money.
Emotions. It may be a song by Mariah Carey, but emotions are also something that plays a significant, and often misunderstood role in the life of a Christian. So, what does the Bible have to say about it? What are some of the mistakes we make in our thinking about emotions? How can we live for God with our emotional selves? And what will the scores be after trivia?
Spiritual Gifts. What a topic. In the midst of all the opinions, debate and worries, what does the Bible actually say? What are some of the ways we misunderstand gifts? And how can we live for God with the gifts he's given us? Trivia this week is on numbers in the Bible. But what numbers will be in the scores after?
Something many of us have stopped and had to think about in iso is- what is church? What makes church church? What does it look like to be godly in our attitudes towards 'online' church and the eventual return to in person gatherings? This week Simon and Anton are joined by a special guest, for the whole episode! Our senior minister sat down and shared some his thoughts and reflections on Church, Iso church, and even anglicanism.
Also, Nigel joins us for trivia! How will he go?
Many people will be single for a lot of their lives, and we all start our lives that way. But how much time do we actually spend thinking about the Christian view of singleness? If you're single, married, dating someone, this is an episode for you as we think about this important topic. How to live for God if you're single, and how to be a good friend to single people if you're not!

Resting. The Sabbath. Taking a break. What did God do after he spent six days making all things? He rested. What does all this mean for our busy, restless age? Anton and Simon chat about how we as Christians think about rest and the freedom we have in Christ.
This week we chat the huge topic of work, and how we can live for God in how we think, feel and act about work. We also have a chat with a full time worker about how she finds being a Christian at work. Plus as always, Bible trivia!
So many choices, so many decisions. Life is full of them, but how do we make Godly decisions? What are some of the traps we fall into as Christians wanting to make Godly decisions, and how does all this interact with the will of God? Find some answers to all these questions in this weeks episode!

What a good way to wrap up the season! Sorry, it had to be done. But what even is goodness? We talk about getting a lot of goodness from healthy food... but surely thats not what the Bible means when it talks about goodnesses? Does it? And what does it look like? And will trivia be another...ah... pointless week? Tune in to find out, and don't forget to tune into our live episode on Sunday (May 31st)
What even is gentleness anyway? What do we associate with the idea of being gentle? And most importantly, what does the Bible say? These are all questions you'll find answers to in our latest episode! Plus we phone a 6.45 Growth Group leader, share how our spiritual discipline went for the week and one of the toughest rounds of trivia yet!
The exciting, and glamorous topic of self-control! But seriously, self-control is a tough one, and something we all struggle with as Christians. What is at the heart of self-control? How do we grow in it? Appropriately, spiritual disciplines make a return this week, and as every week, trivia time!
How could we only do one episode thinking about love in the Bible? So here is part two of our double ep on love! This time we especially focus on the incredible topic of the love of God. It's a big one. And I can guarantee that there is only one cheesy pop song reference. But it's ok, there is also a reference to an Oscar nominated movie and the office, it all balances out in the end.
Part one of our episode on love! I can honestly claim that there are no cheesy pop song references in this episode. This week Anton and Simon talk about love. We take a dive into the Bible and chat about a famous passage on love, what it looks like and the challenge of the biblical picture of love. We'll dive into the theology of love next week! We also have a chat about Bible reading habits with a friend! And trivia happens too I guess....
This week Anton and Simon chat what it means to be faithful, why our culture doesn't care much about it and how we can be faithful with our lives.
(We tried something different with recording, and the audio isn't great quality, it'll be back to normal next week!)
What does it mean to be kind? Is God kind? How can we be kind? Anton and Simon chat about all these things and more as we continue to create a picture of what the Spirit's work in our lives looks like.
Something we all need a lot of at the moment...
Anton and Simon chat patience or forbearance, what it is in the Bible, and what can help us be patient in our lives. Plus, we phone a friend to have a chat, a very dramatic trivia and discuss our spiritual discipline for this week.
What is peace and how can we be people of peace? This week Anton and Simon chat about what peace means in the Bible, what brings us peace and how it impacts our lives. Plus, will Anton be able to take the lead in Bible trivia? And what Spiritual Discipline will we be challenging you to this week?
How can we have Joy?
Welcome to episode one of the 6.45 pod! Join Anton and Simon as they chat through life and faith, as well as spend a decent amount of time making fun of each other. This week, we look at joy!
