Our world has gone insane, crazy, and losing it's collective mind. Good is evil and evil is good. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Up is down and down is up. The world has been turned upside down. As followers of Jesus how are we to live in the days of evil? Simply put, look at Jesus. Keep our eyes on Him. Listen to Him. Walk with Him. Converse with Him. His strength, His Joy, His Hope, His peace will guard our heart and mind, if we Look at Him.

Our earthly fathers should be a representation of our heavenly father. However, that is not always the case. Why? There are a thousand different answers. If you and I are going to be the godly fathers that we should be then that means we have to go to our heavenly father and let Him father us, guide us, and love us so we in turn can be that to our children. We need our Father God in order to be a godly father to our sons and daughters.

Life can get a little choppy at times. Difficult to say the least. The storms of life don't show up when it is convenient. No, they are always in the most hard, difficult, and perilous times of our life. However Jesus is always with us as His followers. He might not be behaving as we think He should be He is with us none the less. Jesus will not let your "boat" sink. No, with Him it will "float". He may not calm the storm He just might need to calm you in the midst of your storm. Either way, He is in control. Your job is to simply trust Him.

Our lives as followers of Jesus Christ should be a witness of Life. The Life that He brings. The Life that He is. The words we speak should bring life. The life we live should bring life. How we do our jobs should bring life. Why? Because we are witness of that Life. The disciples saw first hand as eye witnesses to the Life that Jesus brought to people while He was on this earth. However, it was in the best interest of the entire world that Jesus should leave. Because then He could pass that Life on to us and we then begin giving that Life away, so, others can be witnesses of Life also.

Although the death that Jesus suffered on the Cross that day two thousand years ago was horrid and unimaginable, today all across the globe the Cross is beacon to all those who are in need of hope, restoration, and life. Today there is a POWER in the Cross. No more inability to be the man or woman of God that He called us to be.

We as followers of Jesus must now rise up and go beyond just being delivered to living in our rightful divine dominion.

The Church of Jesus Christ is a family. The Family was God's idea and not a man-made construct. When we treat each other with detestation, dislike, animosity, and abhorrence, it breaks the Father's heart and He takes it personally. Why? Because His love for us is strong and wants our love for one another to be strong. We are His children. We can and will disagree but we must not disrespect. We must see each other in the body of Christ through the same lens God sees us. That lens is love and honor. It is a personal thing to God and to each other when we destroy and devour one another. The world will know that we are His followers by our love one for another.

In this current age we can't walk in self-control without the power of the Holy Spirit residing within, and empowering us to do so. It's time we pull ourselves together and live a life of divine discipline and self-control that brings life to us all.

Not in a selfish and egotistical way but with authority and power because God had made a promise to His people that He would not nor could He break. So, Caleb with the authority of God's promise declared what was impossible with man was possible with God.

But, God showed up in the furnace as the 4th man in the fire. He will always be with us even in the fire or storms of our life. Who will we bow to? Christ or the culture?

Satan is a liar and deceiver. There is no truth in him. If he is talking he's lying. As followers of Jesus we must be careful that we don't fall prey to Satan's schemes and traps. One of Satan's greatest traps is to cloak selfishness and self-awareness as if is was a tribute God gave us. It was the consequence of Adam and Eve's disobedience. We are deceived into believing that since everybody is looking out for #1 then we should as well. God has called us to take up our cross daily. Our old man is dead and Jesus is Lord of our life and not us. We aren't in control but His Holy Spirit is or should be.

We live in a crazy world of uncertainty. However, so did the prophet Elijah in the Old Testament times. The nation of Israel was in conflict, they were experiencing a three year drought through out the entire nation, people where starving, and hedonism was at an all time high. Sound familiar? Amidst all the chaos and uncertainty Elijah knew his and the nation of Israel's true chance of survival depended on the rock solid foundation of what God said. His Word. Even in today's current chaotic climate we have a rock solid foundation in God's Word. Not just His written word, the Bible, but what He speaks to us. That will sure up our foundation.

Pray is not a requirement but an honor and privilege to communicate and be intimate with our heavenly Father. We could look around at our world today and say we need change. We need help. We need God to move. How is that going to happen? It will never happen until God's sons and daughters stand up and kneel down and pray. Not just individual prayers, which by the way are powerful. But when we as a body, a church, the called out ones, pray together God is moved and intervenes in our lives. And when we do our world is better because of it and God is honored and glorified.

In a world that has so many opportunities for us to connect with one another there is an understanding that we are more disconnected than we have ever been. Not only does that affect our human relationships but our relationship with God. God has done everything that needs to be done to connect with us. The question is are we willing to reconnect with Him? Pastor Dan Finley deals with how we can reconnect and what do we do when we do reconnect.

The only way any of us can, it has to come from Him and must be placed in our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit. When that happens we then can't help but love, it has now become our nature just like it is God's nature.

However, God used the word and "cut" Covenant all the time with the likes of Adam, Abraham, David, and with all of mankind through Jesus Christ , just to name a few. God will always keep His covenant, even when the other side fails to hold up their end of the agreement. Why? Because God's nature if faithfulness and He can't deny who He is. When God cut covenant with Abraham that agreement, promise, or whatever you want to call it was for eternity. God will see it fulfilled. The covenant He has made with the blood of His Son Jesus is even greater than the covenant He made with Abraham.

It is still a burden and we still must carry it but if it is the burden He has called us to carry He will give us the strength to not just survive but to thrive as we carry it. There are also many burdens that we carry that are not ours to carry. Unforgiveness, bitterness, fear, etc... We have no business carrying them. The ones that He has called us to carry will bring us life not suck it out of us. I will give life to other also. Can you carry your burden? Yes, you can if you depend on Him and His strength.

God is not a deity that we worship from afar off. He has done everything possible for us to have an intimate relationship with Him. He wants us and we must want Him not just need Him. God has asked us to do somethings that are more for our benefit that His glory or praise. When we do these 8 things it pulls us closer in. It gets us to a place where we can hear the heartbeat of God. It moves us, changes us, empowers us, and transforms us. Fatherhood and Masculinity is under attack today in our world. However, God and His Word has a lot to say about Fatherhood. The Scripture says that children are like arrows in the hand of a Warrior. Which means as fathers we have a great responsibility to train up our children in godly precepts and principles. We must be purposeful and intentional. Children grow up to be adults and those adults affect the world. The arrows that are in our hands as fathers are to be shot with great purpose, intent and focus. Which means we as father has to humble ourselves before God and call on Him for power and strength.

Adam and Eve were instructed by God not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. However, we all know how the story goes. Adam and Eve did what God told them not to do and plunged all of humanity into a life of sin and damnation! Wow, that's pretty dark you might say. Yes, it is but God... had a better plan. What about the tree of life, why didn't they eat from that one? They could have but didn't. We have that same choice today. Which one will you choose?

Prayer, How the Father teaches us to pray
Prayer has been made into some kind of magical, mystical, and unattainable endeavor that many in Christianity have relegated to Sundays and maybe one night a weekend for a "prayer meeting". The blessing of family is more than words spoken over you it is what gives you a firm foundation. In the world we live in most people are building their lives on shifting sand and their "houses" are crumbling right beneath their feet. If we live out and give out the blessing we will be building on the rock and no matter what comes our way, especially in our families we will be able to stand strong and weather any storm that comes our way.

Giving, Money, Tithe, Finances. Words that make people uncomfortable when you talk about them, especially in the church. Jesus talked a lot about money and giving. Money is just one way God uses "things" to get His will accomplished. It is the love of money not money that is the root of all kinds of evil, Paul said. At the core of it all is having a heart of giving. Some people are able to give more money that others because their understanding and position has afforded them that opportunity. Ezekiel was a young priest who had been carried away into captivity in Babylon. For twenty-two years he faithfully prophesied to his people, sharing visions that were given to him by God. The vision of the valley of dry bones is one of his better-known revelations. Though its primary application was for Israel, it is very relevant today. The Holy Spirit kind of makes people nervous. Why? Probably because He seems unpredictable. The Holy Spirit is the "power" of the Godhead. He is the one who empowers us with what we need to live an overcoming, victorious, and powerful life. What are you doing with the Holy Spirit? Do you invite Him to empower you on a daily basis? Do you allow Him the freedom to do whatever He wants in your Life? Do you trust Him? If you are taking care of business the way Jesus intended for us to then you will know the answer to those and more questions. If not then it is time to open up yourself to the kind, loving, powerful, and yes, sometimes unpredictable Holy Spirit.

We have a responsibility and an honor to steward the relationship for the benefit of the other person and for the glory of God. How do we do that you make ask. First, realize that relationship can be messy. People aren't perfect. Be willing to forgive and be forgiven. Another way is realize you need others. God didn't create us to be alone. And we must invest in relationships with others. We don't use relationship manipulation but we do invest in people because they are valued by God and by us.

Who doesn't like to receive gifts? I can't think of anyone. We all love to get gifts. Some of us actually like giving gifts more than we like receiving them. There is a gift that is so amazing and wonderful that everyone on the earth has asked for it at least once in their life. That is the gift of forgiveness. We have all wronged someone and have had to ask for their forgiveness. It was a welcomed reception when it was extended. However, that gift only lasted till the next time we wronged someone. The gift of forgiveness from God is a gift that never runs out. God has an endless supply of mercy and grace. Does that mean that I can do whatever I want when I want to whomever I want? No! A thousand times no. It is that endless forgiveness that make me not want to hurt Him or anyone else. It brings freedom to be who He created us to be and the power to do it.

And in His presence we find the fullness of Joy that the world is envious of. Not only does thanksgiving usher us into His presence it also allows us to receive his mercy and grace giving us the ability to "come boldly" into His presence.
