The Flourishing mother embraces the children God has for her and she knows
the power of her table!
The flourishing mother has been converted to motherhood! The flourishing mother has purpose and vision!
The flourishing mother knows who she is. Well, who is she? You'll find out in this podcast.
Plants can’t survive without light and without water. Nor can mothers. How can you be watered? Check in.
How are you mothering in your home? Are you wilting? Just surviving? Or flourishing? Today we begin a new series, discussing how you can go from wilting to flourishing. Psalm 128:3 states: "Your wife will be like a fruitful vine, FLOURISHING within your home."
After eight yeas of constant 24/7 care Gracie has now gone to Heaven. Nadia looks back and shares how Gracie lifted her motherhood to a new level and how she affected their family dynamics in many wonderful ways. With God's enabling, they have come through strong, resilient, and very much together as a family. You will be inspired and encouraged in your mothering as you hear Nadia's testimony.
Just over eight years ago Nadia Mutana gave birth to a baby girl, born with a very rare disease known as Clove's disease. If that was not enough, she had many other challenges. If that was not enough, at three years old she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Nadia begins sharing the very challenging but triumphant story of Gracie's eight years on this earth.
Nadia continues her story. Gracie is diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Her husband leaves her. She is faced with caring for seven children on her own and constantly in and out of hospital with Gracie. How can she survive? How can she look after her other children? How can she physically do it?
This is the last session in this series. Don't miss it. We talk about learning how to wait. To walk with God is learning to wait. What about your children? Are you teaching them this very necessary attitude?
Are you feeling "overworked and underpaid?" Do you feel like a servant? Do you feel everything is too much for you? There is answer. Check in to find out.
What is the attitude in your home? Do your children do less than they are asked or more than they are asked? We talk about this scriptural principle today. And also, about doing everything in our lives "pointed to Heaven."
Do you know the four covenants God gave to Israel? And we remember that God is a covenant keeper. He does not break His covenants.
Every prophetic word regarding Jesus' coming into this world and dying for our sins was fulfilled exactly to the word. Because of this we know that every other prophetic word that is yet to come will come to pass exactly as God's word states!
What is happening in the land of Israel proves that God's word is true and infallible. Scriptures written thousands of years ago are now being fulfilled before our very eyes. The desert land is blossoming like the rose. It is flourishing even in the desert. It is the proof that God is alive and His Word is true and cannot be reversed.
Today we speak about the HOW MUCH MORE of the “natural branches.” Who are the “natural branches”? And why does the Bible say they are HOW MUCH MORE? And why does it talk about their FULLNESS? And why does the Bible say it will be like LIFE FROM THE DEAD?
Today we talk about more protection, more provision (I'm sure you want more of that!), more receiving from God, and more reigning in life! More of the "more" promises!
Back to our series today. We talk about three things. How can we praise God MORE AND MORE? You are FAR MORE precious than rubies. The trial of your faith is MUCH MORE precious than gold.
Connie Lanford from Louisiana is with us again today. This time we talk about the oneness of marriage. How do two different and unique people become one together? Connie shares about their challenges and difficulties but how God showed her His way.
We interrupt our series to interview Connie Lanford from Louisiana. Connie shares stories about raising their eight children and also the difference in raising girls and boys. Her ultimate goal was to raise them to be prepared for the eternal world.
How can we please God more? How can we experience more of God’s power in our lives? And how can we experience the “how much more” of the cleansing of the blood of Christ.
Are you rising up into a MORE AND MORE lifestyle? Today we discuss bout having MORE AND MORE love in our homes and how God wants us to become MORE AND MIGHTER than the heathen.
MORE about justice today. God gives you the authority to judge, even the smallest matters of life. But how do you exercise lovingkindness and justice at the same time?
What's MORE today? MORE growing in the ways of God, MORE intentional hearing, and MORE justice and judgment. Did you know that you are a court judge in your home? Do your children understand the DIFFERENCE between good and evil, the clean and the unclean, the holy and the unholy?
Sharing the story of the passing into glory of little eight-year-old Gracie. You will love to hear about her victorious life. She lived by Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" and she passed away at 4.13 am, 13th February.
This is Podcast 400! Wow! Huge congratulations to those who have listened to 400 podcasts! Today we talk about six things the Bible likens to gold. You’ll want these in your life.
This is not just about money but every aspect of our lives. In what other ways does God want us to be generous? Let's find out.
We talk more about Face to Face fellowship and also More Fruitfulness. We must never be stagnant, always adding to our faith, preparing for an ABUNDANT welcome into the everlasting kingdom rather than being “saved, so as by fire.”
Yes, there is always MORE AND MORE! This session we talk about more enlarging, enlarging our vision and our boundaries. And more face to face fellowship with one another. God not only loves us to do this but to do it SO MUCH MORE!
We continue taking about the abundance available to us in the "waters to swim in" God has given unique gifts and talents to each one of us and to each one of our children. God expects us to hone these gifts, to develop them, and to multiply them. Those who bury their talents forgo their blessings. The rewards come to those who "work hard to gain more.
In everything in life we begin small and continue to enlarge more and more. Even in nature the bud comes first, then the blossom, and then the flower. We look at Ezekeil 47 where we get into the water to the ankles, then to the knees, then to the loins and then waters to swim in. God has a deep river full of blessings for us if only we will plunge in.
We continue to discover the MORE AND MORE lifestyle of the kingdom of God. Because we have Christ living in us, we can no longer live a normal life. Let’s keep on the journey.
Welcome to the New Year. And welcome to our new series. God intends our walk with Him to be a MORE AND MORE walk. According to God’s Word it is “superabundant and over and above the normal.” We begin our journey through God’s Word to discover all the things that are MORE THAN THE NORMAL. Instead of dipping our toes in the shallowness of God’s vastness we must move into the extraordinary life God has for us.
We continue talking about LEARNING OF HIM. Did you know that not only God has statutes? The devil has statutes too. Whose statutes do we follow? And the last two letters, O, ONLY JESUS. He must have the first place in our affections, our lifestyle, and all our decisions. And lastly W, Willingly.
Jesus calls us to not only follow Him but to LEARN of Him. The multitudes followed Jesus but only a few became disciples. What does it mean and how do we learn to follow Him?
Today we continue talking about what it means to lay down our lives for Jesus and for one another.
How do we follow Jesus. We begin an acrostic of the word FOLLOW to see from the Scriptures how Jesus wants us to follow Him. In this podcast we talk about Faithfully, Fervently, Obediently, Leaving everything behind, and Laying down our lives.
We begin a new series, FOLLOWING JESUS. Paul beseeched the new believers, "Be ye followers of me." Can we say to our children, "Look at me, children. Watch my lifestyle and you'll know how to walk with Jesus."
We are blessed again to have Pam Fields with us today. This time we talk about creative ideas for hospitality. Many young mothers are lonely in their homes. Many families feel isolated. Pam gives some very practical ideas on how to change a life of loneliness for a life of fun, adventure, and rich fellowship which all mothers so desperately need.
Every mother needs to be fortified with certain emotional nutrients in order to mother effectively. As mothers, we must also give our children these needed nutrients. Pam Fields joins me again today to share about five motherhood nutrients we need in our lives and the lives of our children. She shares how we can supplement where we are lacking and learn to give them to our children. What kind of sound tracks are you recording for your children's future lives? Make sure you get to the end of this podcast to hear the beautiful "hugging" story.
Pam Fields joins me to today for a very powerful podcast. Sadly there are children who have traumatic things happen to them in their lives. As a mother you have the power to determine how these situations will impact their lives. Listen in to these powerful testimonies.
There are 12 Scriptures in the Bible that give God’s judgment upon those who lightly esteem or treat their parents triflingly or insignificantly with looks or gestures. It is time for our society to come back to giving honor to parents and honor to where honor is due. It is a serious matter in God’s eyes.
Why does God put such importance on honoring parents? What is the influence of generational parenting?
God gives us 10 different things in the Bible regarding our attitude toward parents. We talk about the first five today. They are very powerful. Don't miss this session.
There are seven things which God has given us to do where He promises He will give us a long life if we are obedient to them. Three of them have a double blessing, a double whammy! Join me today to discover what they are!
We have a divine mandate from God. Are we training our children to be disciples for Christ? Do they have a biblical worldview or do they fit more into this society?
We praise God that thousands are rallying to take up Charlie’s mantle to boldly proclaim the Gospel and biblical truths to the world. What do we need to do to be ready for this task?
We conclude the “koinonia” lifestyle today. It includes sharing out Testimony (declaring the good things God is doing in our lives), our Touch (befriending one another), our Treasures (sharing our finance and “treasures” with the saints, our “over the top” Thankfulness to our husbands, children, and those around us, and dropping seeds of Truth into the lives of all we come in contact with.
Continuing the “koinonia” lifestyle. How do we share our Table (hospitality) and our Talents with others?
We continue the New Testament sacrifices and begin talking about the eight points of the “koinonia” lifestyle God wants us to live. They all begin with T. You’ll want to check them out.
There were five different sacrifices in the Old Testament, but did you know that we are also given sacrifices to do in the New Testament? Do you know what they are? We begin the first one today.
We complete our 13 points today. Life is great, even when it's not going great, when we do the things God has ordained to release the happy and loving hormones.
Continuing the points about what we should do to release oxytocin and enjoy the "feel good" hormones. God is amazing the way He planned for us to live a blissful life.
Living in a family paves the way for the "feel good" hormones. Children's memories of the home should be of the family table with the aroma of good food and stimulating conversation, dialogue, and fellowship.
Today we talk about more things that God wants us to do continually. You will be surprised at some of the things God wants you to do continually.
God reveals 15 things that He wants us to do continually. We continue discussing these things today. We are up to No. 10 with five more to go. Keep checking in so you don’t miss.
How can you live a life of overflowing thankfulness when you have so many things to concentrate on each day? The Bible gives us the answer.
My daughter, Pearl Barrett (Trim Healthy Mama) talks with us today about the power of smiling and the benefits to our health and longevity. Is it wrong to “fake it ‘till we make it”? How can we accomplish this in the midst of the challenges of life?
You will really love this podcast as Becca Groves talks about learning to go with her husband's vision of homesteading and tells stories of how God has helped them to work together and become a team.
Rebecca Groves from Northfield, Minnesota joins me today as she talks about her challenges as a wife and mother on their homestead. Her husband is the author of two books, Durable Trades, and The Family Economy.
We conclude this series today by speaking more about marriage. It is not enough to love your husband; it is imperative that you love marriage. Do you love marriage as God ordained it? What about submission? We discover that it is a beautiful word.
Heaven is holy. The Holy of Holies was filled the holiness of God. And God wants holy homes. It begins with holy courting and a holy marriage.
Heaven is filled with the glory of God. The Holy of Holies housed the Shekinah glory of God. And God wants your home to be filled with Hi glory too.
You may feel hidden in your home, but it is the most sacred and glorious places that are hidden. Find out more about our hidden God.
It is amazing that God uses a phrase to describe three very important things in the Bible, and they all begin with H: Heaven, the Holy of Holies, and yes, your Home. You'll want to find out what it is. Every mother needs to hear this revelation.
Robyn Coughlin shares again with me today and talks about the three most important principles of marriage she learned with her first husband. She is now married again and realizes she must use the same principles. Robyn states: "It's not so much who you are married to, but WHO YOU ARE!"
Robyn, also a New Zealander, but now living in Texas, shares today. Beginning in a de facto relationship, coming to Christ, getting married, and serving God together, she then tells the story of losing her husband of 40 years and how God brought her through.
I want you to meet another New Zealander today. More New Zealand accent! Sue Kuru was my neighbor when we lived in Palmerston North, New Zealand. It is my first time to meet Sue again after about 45 years! Along with Val Stares who is now the director of Above Rubies in Australia, Sue was the first person to hear about the vision of Above Rubies. We share about the amazing things that were happening in those days as Above Rubies began and in our church life.
Currently Colin and I have precious friends staying with us from New Zealand. Today Rebecca Southey from Auckland, New Zealand shares her testimony of God’s great faithfulness. Rebecca began her journey as a teen single mother until the father came back into her life. Listen to what God did in their lives and continued to do. They now rejoice in the blessing of all their children and grandchildren walking with the Lord. What is their secret?
We come to the last of the seven mandates God gave to His people in Jeremiah
29: DO NOT BE DECEIVED. In what way was the first woman deceived? How do we
guard against deception?
God’s vision is as big as the stars in the heavens, the dust of the earth, and the sand upon the seashore—all of them too impossible to count! And then we talk about changing the nation by prayer from the heart of your home.
Can you imagine God using 19 different Hebrew words to describe how He wants us to multiply? It’s pretty amazing.
We talk about "the time of life." What is it? Then we begin our new study called IT WILL BLOW YOUR BRAINS AWAY. God's vision FAR EXCEEDS our puny mind and understanding.
Discover many stories in God's Word where God prophesied the name and birth of someone many years before their birth. God sees far ahead of us.
Theology is what God states in His Word about a certain subject. What does God have to say about conception. He is certainly not silent on this subject.
The last of the Food Twins today—food and leisure, food and a merry heart, food and prayer and praise, food and the presence of God, food and prophecy, food and protection, food and provision, food and motherhood, food and strength, food and teaching, and food and work! for our blessing and enjoyment. How many parties and feasts do you have in
your home? Life should be filled with celebrations.

What you eat physically determines your physical health and what you eat spiritually determines your spiritual health. What does God’s word have to say about eating?
Happy Christmas and Happy Hannukah! Many mothers confess that motherhood is easier with a larger family than a smaller family. Is this true? Is it possible? Allison Hartman joins me today as we discuss this subject and the negative objections.
God promises that when we are planted, we will be fruitful, flourishing, healthy, fresh, and bringing glory to God, especially when we are planted by the waters. Is this possible? And what are the waters?
God wants us to dwell in our homes and to be planted in our homes. Are you a planted mother or a plucked up mother?
Without motherhood the story of the Bible could not be written. Without motherhood there could be no genealogies. Without motherhood the world would come to a halt. The theology of motherhood is necessary to the Bible.
Did you know there was such a thing as the Theology of Motherhood or to be more direct, Motherology? Join with me as I discuss the doctrine of motherhood.
Courtney Kelly joins me today. She and her husband were not communicating but God showed her what to do? What did He tell her? What’s the secret?

It's less than a month to the November 5 election. What part are we doing to steer this nation to righteousness and away from evil and communism?
Bethany's husband, Paul, has now received his sentence for seeking to save babies at an abortion clinic. I talked with Bethany today about this update. I previously shared their story in Podcasts 277 and 278.
ARE THE YOUNG PEOPLE LISTENING?
Caitlin continues to discuss with me the rest of the 21 points to the question: What qualities should a girl look for in a husband? These points are important for gals, guys, and parents. Girls must know what to look for. However, girls should have these same qualities if they want a man after God’s own heart. And mothers, we are the ones who are training these young men and women for marriage. Are we seeking to encourage these qualities in our young people?
ALL YOUNG PEOPLE SHOULD BE LISTENING IN TO THIS SESSION. AND MOTHERS, WE NEED ENCOURAGING TOO, FOR ONE OF THE GREATEST PURPOSES OF PARENTING IS TO PREPARE OUR CHILDREN FOR THEIR FUTURE MARRIAGES.

Courtney joins me again today as she shares more of her family life. We came to the conclusion that we are either conditioned and programmed by the advertising of this world or we are the advertisers of God’s ways to the world. Which side are we on?
Courtney Kelly joins me again today to answer a question. A group of us mothers were fellowshipping together after church when one asked Courtney, “How do you have it all together? You have 10 children and yet you arrive on time, and you all look perfect!” Well, we all got into a big discussion with lots of debate. It was such fun that I thought I should get Courtney to come and answer this question on the podcast.
Courtney Kelly joins us today to tell her story. Every mother’s story is so unique. Growing up her mother owned a bar. How did she end up raising ten children for God’s kingdom?
Pam Fields continues her story. Although coming from a home of confusion and evil practices, God has brought Pam into a large place, enjoying her marriage, family, and ministry. She is proof that your past does not define who God made you to be.
Welcoming Pam Fields to the podcast today. Pam has done five podcasts with me in the past, but for the very first time today, she shares the story of her hidden past.

There are many things in life that are a duty, and yet without them we could not live an ordered or enjoyable life. Duty results in delight! Have you experienced this?
God is a God of order, and He wants us to order everything in our homes too. It also makes a big difference when we order our meal table. Our children will rise to the value we place upon the meal table, and it will affect their behavior accordingly.
How do we combat the onslaughts of the enemy as a family? How do we teach our children to fight the enemy? Are we prepared for coming difficulties and crisis (spiritually, physically, and nationally) as a family? I discuss these questions in this podcast.
We don't wear the same clothes on every occasion. When is it important to change our clothes? Check it out.
How do you worship at your family altar? This time of meeting with God is also for the cleansing of our hearts. It's such an important part of every day.
Satan hates the family altar. He will use “good” things to stop you doing it in your home. But if you press through, you will become a nation-changing and world-changing family.
It is important to have our personal time with God, but God wants THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD to meet with Him. How does this work out in our homes?
May be this is something you have not yet integrated into your family life. Maybe you have been doing it for years. Whoever you are, you are going to love this series as we look at 25 powerful points about “the family altar” that God reveals in His Word. “Do we do what makes us happy? Or do we do what is right?” What is the correct way? We know our three “inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” What did the founding fathers mean by “the pursuit of happiness.”

We look at another Hebrew word for "assembling" today discovering many more examples of how God loves to assemble His people and how He wants the whole family included, from the oldest to the youngest-even the toddlers! Wow, what do we do with these little ones?
We are in a battle for the soul of this nation. Are you willing to assemble for the battle? You will hear some personal family stories on this podcast.
A soldier cannot win a war on his own. He must be part of an army. We can't win our battles against Satan and evil on our own either. We need one another and we need to be part of a prayer army.
We discover more today of how much God loves the togethering and assembling of His people. He doesn't want anyone to miss out.

It begins with God who is the triune God and who live in fellowship together. God also created man for the purpose of communication and fellowship. We are not created for isolation but for togetherness. That’s why God planned marriage and family life. This is the most wholesome and healthy way to live. Join us as we discover this truth from Genesis to Revelation.
Colin and I continue talking about how to effectively feed the "inner man" of our children. This is more important than their bodies. Many children grow strong physically, but their spirits are starving. We must not let our children leave the table until we feed them body, soul, and spirit.
The table is more than a place to feed the hungry tummies of your children. It is where we feed the soul and the spirit. We feed the whole man. Who do we do this?
Do you know where tables originated? My husband, Colin and I talk about the power of the table in raising your children. Your children will rise to the value you put upon your table. How you portray the table will determine the behavior of your children.
Allison and I share another podcast together as we have many more things to share with you. We talk about the movie, SOUND OF FREEDOM (God's children are not for sale!"). Did you see it? We'd encourage you to get the DVD. This movie set us off on a tirade of the need for a new intensity of protective parenting. And what about smart phones? Do you allow your children to have them or not? We also discuss the pros and cons of young marriages.
The Hartman's are staying with us for July 4 week. Join with Allison and me as we talk about a lot of different issues including what we can do to strengthen our families rather than fragmenting them. We welcome you on board.
In Malachi chapter 2, the question rings out, “What does God want from your marriage?” God comes back with His answer. Do you know what it is?
Colin and I share more about marriage-how to guard against a hard heart, how to guard against treachery, and how to guard against dismembering.
Pam Fields joins me today as we discuss the nitty gritty of life. Many mothers feel as though they are failing. They feel overwhelmed. We begin weak and stumbling but we can finish strong. God gives us keys to have a better end than our beginning!
Colin and I continue to talk about elevating marriage. It has been devalued in our society and it’s time to get it back to where God has placed it. It is a sacred institution. We must honor marriage and the marriage bed. We talk about how God wants wives to honor their husbands but He also commands husbands to honor their wives.
Colin is with me again today, this time elevating the roles of husband and wife. We also share 16 character qualities a young woman should look for in the man she would like to marry. Young people, please listen in!
My husband, Colin and I talk about elevating the roles of male and female. God determines the sex of male and female from conception and it cannot be changed. Even after people are dead, they can still determine the sex by analyzing the bones. It's time to honor the roles that God ordained in the beginning.
My husband, Colin, is with me again today. We continue talking about God's value on the home and marriage. How can we make our homes a little taste of Heaven on earth? How can we create a pleasant and happy atmosphere? How can we eliminate prickly reactions between husband and wife and amongst the children?
"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" My husband, Colin, joins me today as we discuss bringing family life back to its high status. Marriage, home, and family are the first institutions God ordained, before church and before government. They are still the foundation of society.
Today we talk about etiquette when going to church. Should we bring iPhones or Bibles to church?
More tips on etiquette in your home or when in other people's homes. What do you do when people come into your home who have different standards than you do?
What is modesty? Far more than clothing! Check it out.
What should we wear to church?
When should men take off their hats?
Continuing our discussion about etiquette which is often missing in our society today. It's not being passed on to the next generation. Today, we discuss what to do and how to act when we are asked to other people's homes.
Back to our series. Today we discuss etiquette at the table. What do your children know about etiquette? Do they know how to behave in other people's homes and are your older children ready for the adult world?
Courtney Mount joins me today as she shares the heart rendering story of their two-year Millie (their ninth child) who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer.
Allison and Daniel Hartman are with me again today. We talk about the father's influence in the home. A godly father has a powerful influence in guiding his children. It is certainly time for the hearts of the fathers to be turned to the children.
For 250 podcasts you have listened to Michael Tate as his song IN THAT HOME introduces and ends this podcast. At last, you are hearing from him in person. You will love hearing the story of this song about his mother and the way she drew so many hurting souls into her heart and her home. You'll also hear some inside stories about our sons, Wes and Steve Campbell. And this time, we will play you the full song.
Daniel and Allison Hartman from Pensacola join me today as we talk about passing on the baton of God's truth to our children. Are our children growing up with a biblical worldview? We as parents must first have a biblical worldview. What about the church we are attending? Does it have a biblical worldview?
Kevin and Bonnie Kookogey are with me again today and we continue talking about the importance of raising our children to speak. And most importantly of all, to speak forth God’s Word. This includes memorizing lengthy passages of God’s Word and other powerful truths. Check out how Kevin and Bonnie have made this happen in their family.
Welcoming Kevin and Bonnie Kookogey to the podcast today. Kevin and Bonnie have been homeschooling for over 20 years. Kevin shares how he has taken his responsibility as a homeschooling father and also prepared his children to be prepared to be speakers. We talk about the importance of speeches which is a dying art. Although it was mandatory for a bridegroom to give a speech at his wedding, this rarely happens today. Kevin and Bonnie share how they prepared their children to be ready to give a speech on any occasion.
Are we passing on mothering to the next generation as God intends it? Are we passing on to our children family togetherness as God intends it? Do you children know how to set a table?
The greatest arrival into this world was the entrance of the Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords and the adoration of eternity. But He came as a baby. All the great things that happen in the world continue to happen through babies. Without babies coming into the world through the wombs of mothers, nothing would happen in this world! It would come to a halt.
Erin Harrison joins me today as we speak together about elevating motherhood to a higher level. It has been degraded to a low state, but God wants us to come up higher. To come up to His marvelous ways.
Are we drifting with our current liberal society or are we holding fast to God's truth? Are we effectively getting it to the next generation? Have all our children come to know Jesus personally, even our little ones?
Our last session in this series and we continue last week’s subject. What are your plans for Saturday or Sunday? How much time do you give to God on your set-apart day? One hour? Two hours? Or the whole day?
What are your plans for Saturday or Sunday? Do you set one of those days aside for God and for His people—and what do you do?
I have received a number of requests recently asking how we do the Shabbat meal. This podcast tells you what we do in our home. Be blessed and inspired.
Even in challenging pregnancies and births, God will be with you. Our God is a miracle-working God and far exceeds the diagnoses of doctors. Today you will hear two birth stories from Michelle Schrum.
God wants us to SERVE Him in our land of motherhood. When you mother, you are actually serving and worshipping the Lord. Are you HEART AND SOUL mothering?
Today I tell you three secrets about myself. Please don’t tell anyone else!!! We also ask ourselves some questions today? Do I know the ways of God for motherhood? Do I have a willing heart? Do I know how to wait for God’s promises? Am I walking in the fear of God? All part of living in the LAND OF MOTHERHOOD.
How big is your trust in God? How do we trust God for pregnancy, for birth, and for the provision of our needs? Is God big enough?
Have you ever heard of Beulah Land? Join in to find out what it is all about it. It really affects you as a mother. And it concerns the nation!
Imagine being diagnosed with cancer when you are dreaming of marriage? Neely Stewart shares God's wonderful working in her life. While in college she was diagnosed with cancer and informed she would never be able to have children. Today, she is surrounded with nine amazing children. Together with her husband, Ben, they own a campsite and use it to strengthen families and also teach young people how to live purely and how to prepare for marriage. You can also find out more at www.brockmountainministries.org.
Allison Hartman joins me again today as we share a few more things on our hearts. And I get back to our series with No. 4. GOD WANTS US TO COMMAND OUR CHILDREN IN THE LAND. Many parents are afraid to command their children; they just want to be their friends. But God instructs us to command our children. What does this look like?
Allison Hartman from Pensacola joins me today as we talk about the WINTER RETREAT IN THE SUN in January. Also what is happening to many Christian young people when they attend college. It’s time to reevaluate.
Peggy joins me again today as we talk about standing up against evil. We as mothers have a responsibility to protect our children and the vulnerable children of our lands. We cannot put our heads in the sand but must become proactive in pushing back against the evils that are preying upon our children. We also speak about how God wants us to teach our children in our land of motherhood.
Peggy Weatherford is with me again today as she tells her experience of attending the RALLY TO END CHILD MUTILATION in Nashville, Tennessee. It was a scary experience. She also exposes a lot more of what is happening with child mutilation in our nation.
I continue talking about how to defeat our enemies, personally, in the home, and in the nation. God gives us three principles for how to fight which are important to understand. Of course, we are not fighting flesh and blood but principalities and powers.
Today we talk about how to defeat our enemies in the land. Peggy Weatherford joins me to expose the horrific things they are seeking to do to our precious children in our schools and our hospitals. Your heart will be in your mouth, and I am sure you will want to do something to put a halt to it.
The latest George Barna poll reveals that only six percent of Christians have a true biblical world view? What an indictment against Christian parents. Are your children established in a biblical world view and how does this question impact your mothering?
One of Satan's biggest ploys in hindering us in our walk with God and in the task God has given us to do is discouragement. Do you get discouraged? How do you deal with it? God has an answer for you.
Find out what stops us from possessing the land. We also discover that God does not like slander against the land of motherhood! Sadly, there is a lot of slander and a “whispering campaign” about motherhood today.
Today we begin a new series of what God wants us to do in the land of motherhood. We did a series of 20 descriptions of The Land of Motherhood. Now we will discover what we should do in the land. The first is to POSSESS the land. We don’t only put our toes in it but walk right through it, discovering all “the mountains, and the valleys, and the plains, and the springs, and the wilderness.”
We continue speaking about raising children who love liberty. Do you children know the first and second amendments? Are you teaching them the Constitution? Are you aware of how important it is to vote in our local elections? Did you know that your county sheriff has power to protect you from federal mandates that would be harmful to you? What are you doing to prepare your children to live in freedom?
We have come to the last L or raising children which is giving our children a LOVE FOR LIBERTY! We are living in a nation where our young people are being programmed for an entitlement mentality where they expect everything to be given to them. The only way for this to happen is to rely on other people and especially the government! This ends in servitude. Are you programing your children for liberty? “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance” which must be passed on to each succeeding generation!
More amazing points about the attitudes God wants us to have toward work. If you can put these principles into operation in your family life, it will become like heaven on earth. We will begin the last L next week. It’s going to be exciting.
We continue talking today about teaching our children to LOVE TO LABOR. God speaks so much about work and diligence in the Bible and also speaks strongly against laziness. Today we begin discussing all the attitudes God wants us to have towards work. We got to 17 points with 9 more to go! Did you know that when we work with all our might, it is the same Hebrew that is used to describe how God brought out the children of Israel out of Egypt “with His MIGHTY POWER.” That’s how we are meant to work.
Michele and I speak today about teaching our children to work. No, not how to work, but how to LOVE TO LABOR! How do we instill this love to work in our children? Check it out.
Today Michele and I chat together about teaching our children to LOVE TO LEARN. One of the secrets of learning is first learning is to listen. We cannot learn unless we develop the art of listening. Come on in and listen for more ways to teach our children the secrets of learning.
Michele Schrum talks with me today about how they raise their children according to the four L's. The first is to LOVE THE LORD. We can't make our children love the Lord so how can it happen? In what ways can we help them and exemplify this?
Have you heard of the Georgia Guidestones? And did you hear that they are now wiped out? Listen to the story. In this podcast I also share with you the last four descriptions of the land of motherhood. The last one is the greatest of all. It is the GLORY OF ALL LANDS! After hearing these 20 descriptions you are certainly going to know that God has brought you into a BLESSED land. God calls motherhood an "exalted" career.
Allison Hartman is with me again and we continue speaking about living in rest as a mother. That doesn't mean we are living easy, peaceful lives. Allison and her husband Daniel run a photography business plus Allison has new ideas and projects coming out of her brain every day. Our home is continually overflowing with people. What does it really mean to live in rest? Allison also shares about her vision and purpose to raise productive children who know how to work hard! Her family are certainly a testimony. It is amazing what they accomplish.
Today I have Allison Hartman from Pensacola, Florida with me. The Hartman's are staying with us for the week of 4th July. They are the family who organize the Above Rubies Family retreat in Panama Beach, Florida each year. Allison talks about the next one coming up in April 2023. She also talks about starting a Farmer's Market in their community which is turning out a great blessing for them and the whole community. And we begin a new adventure in the land of motherhood. It's a land of living in rest. Well, what is that like with the Hartman's and others packed into our home, taking on a project of painting our huge downstairs social room and our kitchen cupboards all in two days before they fly out to Arizona! Can we live in rest when everything is in a shambles?
Can you believe it? This is our sixth podcast about JOYFUL MOTHERING. To day we talk about the ways that God wants us to rejoice. Does He want us to rejoice a little bit, only when everything is going great, and when we feel in the mood? No, He explicitly tells us to rejoice greatly, exceedingly, and with all our hearts. And more! Find out how we can do this. And even though I haven't yet shared everything about joy, I promise we'll begin a new subject next week!
Another revolutionary podcast today with my daughter, Evangeline. She shares her story of mothering her young children in a small one room "hut" with no running water and cooking outside. Eventually, they had two rooms where she and her husband slept in the kitchen. No room for children's beds so they all slept on the floor in the main room. She tells how she learned to embrace her situation with joy and make it fun and how she has learned to CHOOSE JOY in every situation. Be ready for a challenge when Vange gets going! Evangeline is a mother of 10 and grandmother of six and three more on the way.
Today my daughter, Serene (of Trim Healthy Mama) is with us! While we are discussing the subject of Living a Joyful Life, I have asked my daughters to come and share their experiences. Next week Evangeline will be with us! Today Serene shares how she has learned in her own personal experiences to get out of the "grumps" and into the "glory." She shares how she has learned to CAST OFF "the old man" ("the dead man full of maggots" she called it!) and "put on the new man" as she mothers in her home. Serene is a mother of 14 children with eight still living in the home. You will be revolutionized as you listen to this LIFE CHANGING revelation.
I am so excited to have my daughter, Pearl (of Trim Healthy Mama) with me today. She has so many meetings of her own and of course their own podcast that Iam glad she could squeeze us in! You are going to LOVE this podcast as Pearl (I call her Pearlie) shares her story of being a “half-glass person” to becoming a totally “full-glass person”! You’ll hear interesting scientific information and discoveries from Pearl in this podcast that you may have never heard before. You won’t want to miss!
Today I continue the 15 points of when God wants us to rejoice! Most of these situations are when we are going through difficult and challenging times. The joy that God give is not just for happy times but a deep joy that undergirds our lives even in the most trying and sorrowful times of our lives. As Paul says in 2 Corinthians 6:10: "Our hearts ache, but we always have joy."
The land of motherhood is a JOYFUL land. God wants us to live a life of JOY AND GLADNESS. How can we do this when we face hardships and when people speak against us?
The land of motherhood is also a HOLY land. I talk about holy marriage, holy mothering, and a holy home. It's also a CHALLENGING land and a FAT land. No, I'm not saying you'll get fat!
The land of motherhood is a land of BLESSING. God promises that He will not only bless us in the land but GREATLY BLESS us! He promises 16 different blessings to us when we are IN THE LAND. Come on in and check them out.
The land of motherhood is a safe land and a plenteous land. Also, a special word to older mothers.
Motherhood is a life-giving land, life-giving from the cradle to the grave. We are life-givers, life-embracers, life-nurturers, life-feeders, life-speakers, life-restorers, and life-refreshers. We are created to bring life to the world!
God is a God of fruitfulness, and He looks for fruitfulness. MORE fruitfulness and MUCH MORE fruitfulness.
Another miracle testimony about manuka honey. Today we discover that the land of motherhood is a land of dependency. We don't live like Egypt in the land the land that flows with milk and honey. It is also a land of fruitfulness.
We talk about how to get sweet honey flowing in our marriages and homes. And also the amazing and miraculous benefits of Manuka honey to heal the body. My grandson, Arrow Johnson, joins us today to tell his testimony of how Manuka honey saved his face from terrible burn scars.
Did you know that women have the power to influence men and nations? We also talk about the amazing blessings God gives to the nursing mother.
The land of motherhood is a land that flows with milk, nourishment, and nurturing. Jesus used the word "suckling mother" to describe "female." What does this mean to us in the land of motherhood? We talk about a study of the Dogon tribe in Mali, Africa. Surprising information.
My daughter, Evangeline ran up the stairs as I was starting this podcast, so she joined in. You'll love her input. We talk about how the land of motherhood is a LARGE land. You have not been brought into a confined space that suffocates you but a LARGE AND EVER ENLARGING CAREER. It is always growing and enlarging. It's also a land that FLOWS WITH MILK AND HONEY.
I can't believe it took us three sessions to talks about the DELIGHTS in the land of motherhood. We complete the 22 different things God wants us to delight in today. No more grumbles in the land; only delights!
We continue discovering the DELIGHTFUL land of motherhood. Today we begin the list of specific things God wants us to delight in. We close with how God wants us to work willingly and DELIGHTFULLY in your homes.
We continue the adventure of exploring the land of motherhood today, finding out all the things that God delights in. If God delights in them, we'll want to delight in them also.

How does Zadok fit into this? You’ll have to listen to find out!
This podcast begins an exciting series about your LAND OF MOTHERHOOD. God wants to pour out blessings upon you IN THE LAND. The blessings are not for when you are out of the land, but IN YOUR LAND! He doesn't want you to be in your land grudgingly and grumblingly, but joyfully and purposefully.

It's amazing how much God has to say about the everyday things of our lives, even about how should dress. The Bible even talks about jewelry. And what about fashion for our little children?
God wants us to dress femininely and like royalty. Did you know it is possible to dress femininely and yet not modestly? It is also possible to dress modestly and yet not femininely. How do we do it?
Allison Hartman joins me again as we talk about dressing in a way to glorify God. And we continue discussing how to teach our children God's ways in the midst of a worldly culture.

When God’s curse is upon the land there will be few weddings! We talk about how a wedding is the theme of the Bible. Jesus came to this earth to die and shed His precious blood to redeem us and make us His bride. It all culminates in a great wedding, the “marriage supper of the Lamb.” Have we truly entered into the glory and the fullness and the truth of what marriage is all about?
Check out the information about the big Above Rubies Family Retreat coming up soon in Florida. Allison Hartman joins me today. We continue talking about the 20 different words God uses in His Word to show us how to resist evil. Don’t miss learning about each one. God does not want us to tolerate evil but to drive it out.
Evil is so abhorrent to God that He sent His only beloved Son to die on the cross to take the judgment of our sins upon Him. God hates evil and He wants His people to hate evil. He also hates injustice which is an abomination to Him. I found 20 different verbs that God wants us to do about evil. Come on in and find out what they are.

Their bravery inspires us to never cower in the face of tyranny!
We have many promises that God fights for us to save us against our enemies. However, we learn two principles today.
1) If God fights for us, shouldn't we fight for those in need, for the unborn who cannot speak for themselves, for those who suffer persecution, for those who need healing and deliverance, for the downtrodden, and those being unjustly entreated? And
2) Although God fights for us, we can't sit back and do nothing. God wants us to get in the battle and do our part to fight too.
We continue discovering more of the twelve Hebrew words about God as a warrior. Every new generation must learn how to conquer and fight the enemy.

None of us like to go through trials, reproaches, and pressures. But life is not perfect, and we all face trials. The challenge is: how do we go through our trials? We talk today about going through our trials with glory! Is this just a nice-sounding word? No, its Bible language. We need to change our negative language to Bible language.
How do we fill the earth with God's glory when the average number of children per family is only 1.7? Who do we deprive when we refuse to have children? It's taken three sessions to get through this subject.
How has Satan deceived God’s people in the last few decades? How has this mindset influenced our nation today? How will socialism affect the future of our children and children’s children? (Session 2 on the subject of God wants to fill the earth with His glory).).
We live in our glory as we raise our sons to live in their glory. We are not raising immature wimps. We are raising strong young men for the glory of God. Young men who are mature in their youth. Strong physically. Strong in their convictions, their character, in God’s Word, and who know how to overcome the wicked one.
Two more points on THE GLORY today.
YOUR FEMININITY IS YOUR GLORY. Are you living in the glory of your femininity?
RAISING YOUR SONS TO BE STRONG IS YOUR GLORY. The Bible says that “the glory of young men is their strength.” We have the glory of raising them to be strong physically and spiritually.

Next time she conceived she thought, “Here we go again!” Another ectopic pregnancy!”
Instead, it was a baby growing in the womb! With one fallopian tube, Melissa went on to birth nine biological children and they also adopted three other children. Melissa also talks about the blessings and struggles with their third biological child who was Down syndrome.

Serving and submitting. They are hateful words to the modern woman and yet they are characteristics of Christ. Why do we hate to do what Jesus delighted to do? Jesus delighted to do the Father's will (Psalm 40:7, 8). Do we also delight to do the Father's will?

And we forgot to tell you about the Oregon Above Rubies Retreat coming up this year. This time they are organizing a FAMILY RETREAT at the Oregon Christian Convention, Turner! Start saving to come with your family, 13 – 15 September, 2019.
Questions to: Charity Jenkins * kengjenkins@msn.com * 503-871-9535
Or Sonia Ramsay * upsetmyapplecart@gmail.com * 503-428-7345
Or Julia Hughes * dnjhughes@gmail.com * 503-421-1669
Pam shares her story. She came into marriage wanting two children and expecting to work full time. Instead she ended up with nine children and homeschooling? How did this happen?
We discuss the different ways to teach out children? Because God is a God of knowledge and all the fullness of knowledge dwells in Him, we should create in our children a passion to thirst after knowledge. Because we are created in the image of God, we inherently have a desire for knowledge. We must cultivate this desire in our children, not squelch it. Find out how we can do this?
Introducing Pam Fields from Oregon, mother of nine children and has organized many Above Rubies retreats. Pam shares her wonderful idea of PRAYER BRACELETS and how they help her to pray for each of her children each day. You can check out how to make them at this link: https://tinyurl.com/PrayerBracelets
We also talk about the POWER OF PLODDING. Much of life consists of plodding on each day but plodding brings rewards. Proverbs 21:5 (TLB) says: “STEADY PLODDING brings prosperity. We don’t plod around in circles. We plod purposefully—understanding who God created us to be and walking in God’s divine purpose for us. When we know our purpose, we can make drudgery into delight and the mundane into miracles. We turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. We change grumbling to glory.
Here is A MOTHER’S CREED for you to begin the New Year:
“I am not languishing. I am not deceived. I have a vision. I know who I am and who God created me to be. I know my purpose. I am walking in the perfect will of God. I know it’s not easy, but I’ve counted the cost. My goal is set. How could my career be easy when I am influencing a nation for God, generations to come--and eternity? How can it be easy when I am destroying the plans of the devil? Such is the power of my God-mandated career, the highest calling ever given to women—motherhood. I have embraced my calling. I am not intimidated by my antagonists. I will not be moved. My heart is fixed. I may be hidden in my home but look out world! I am sharpening my arrows. I am getting them ready to shoot forth and destroy the adversary. In the power and anointing of God, I am advancing God’s Kingdom.”
Introducing my daughter, Pearl Barrett of Trim Healthy Mama, although I am sure you already know Pearl and her sister Serene. I guess you already listen to their famous THM Poddy (about 200,000 listeners)! You will love listening to Pearl again today as we talk together about grandmothering. And then we get to talk about marriage-and intimacy in marriage (one of Pearl's favorite subjects-and mine too!). Are you going through some sticky times in your marriage? Don't give up. Don't miss the reward time! The end is better than the beginning!
As God creates a new life, we see Him as the first artist, sculptor, embroiderer, needle worker, potter, architect, scribe, and more. Psalm 139 reveals His Omniscience, His Omnipresence, His Omnipotence, His Omni-benevolence, and His Omniscience. Lots of teaching to bless you in this podcast.
God calls the creating of the baby in the womb “marvelous” (Psalm 139:14). God uses many adjectives in His Word. We then look up the adjective in the Hebrew to understand the word and we get more adjectives! The full understanding of this Hebrew word means “extraordinary, wonderful, miraculous, astonishing, and difficult. It is the revelation of God doing things beyond the bounds of human powers or expectations.” We discover where this word is used the first time in the Bible.
God creates each new baby separately, uniquely, and distinguished. Every new baby is a DESIGNER CHILD! A MASTERPIECE! All the remarkable inventions, astounding advancements, brilliant discoveries, and amazing feats (both intellectually and physically) cannot happen without a person being born. They can’t happen without the womb. Without the womb NOTHING happens in this world. It all comes to a screeching halt.
Beginning the new series of discovering the glorious and biblical description of a baby conceiving and growing in the womb. There's more to discover from Psalm 139:13-18 than you could dream.
When you act like a queen, your husband will act like a king. Rise up and live like a queen, speak like a queen, dress like a queen, and enjoy being queen of your home.
Q & A: What do you say to folks when they say, “I’M DONE!” In other words, I don’t want any more children. What’s the answer?
God established men to govern. But are women subservient? No. Women REIGN! God wants us to be queens, ruling and managing our household domain.
I also answer the question: “How do I as a young mom, learn to find my identity in Christ and not in motherhood?” What the answer?
I talk about the Fatherhood of God. Did you know that God established the roles of father and mother BEFORE there was ever a father and mother on the earth? We check the Scriptures to find out what God says about male headship. Controversial subject to many, but we've got to go back to the Word. Eight points in all-six in this session.
In this podcast we talk about caring for an elderly relative in the home. We talk about life from conception to the grave. We talk about building or destroying our homes. And I begin answering your questions. You can email questions to me at nancy@aboverubies.org
In Jeremiah 29 we read a message from THE LORD OF HOSTS to the exiles in Babylon. Although these Judeans were now captives in a foreign land, God comes to them through the prophet to tell them seven things He wants them to do in Babylon. They are a reiteration of what He told them in the very beginning, but He reminds them that He doesn’t want them to stop doing these things just because they are in a foreign land. God’s commands are for all times and all circumstances. God doesn’t change.
Nadia Mutana joins me again in this session and you will also hear from her 13-year-old son, Jeremiah. Find out what he chose to do for his 13th birthday!
The last point about the exciting home: 15. A GARDEN CENTER. The first home, which was the prototype for all homes to come, was a garden home. A home is not truly a home without a garden, especially growing food to eat. If you are not able to grow a big garden, grow a little garden. Even a tomato plant or herbs in pots on your deck!

Meadow Hall continues to speak with me about her convictions regarding modesty and femininity. What about bikinis and leggings? Should they be part of our wardrobe? Can Christians wear jewelry? How do we embrace femininity in a genderless society? Should we pursue an egalitarian or complementarian marriage?
I also introduce to you my 13-year-granddaughter, Autumn Rose, Pearl’s youngest daughter. She shares how she loves being an Aunty to Warren. And now she is waiting to be an aunty again February 2019 when Bowen and Kahoru have their little baby.
My granddaughter, Meadow, a young mother of this generation joins me today. She shares her convictions about modesty. What is modesty in the 21st century? How does it affect us as Christian women? Should we dress drably or gloriously? Meadow Hall is Pearl Barrett's daughter (Trim Healthy Mama) and is married to Kendall Hall. They have a little baby called Warren who is nearly six months old.
Allison Hartman and her 19-year-old daughter, Makenna, speak with me on this podcast. Allison shares how she and her husband managed to get out of debt and build a debt free home. McKenna speaks about her life in a big family and how she has built strong convictions into her life.
We talk about raising children to speak in the gates. Dear mothers, we are not only feeding and clothing our children. We have a huge task raising them to speak—speak clearly, speak with conviction, and speak with boldness, and who will one day be ready to speak with the enemies in the gates! Children who will know how to stand when they face the enemy, and “having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). Be inspired as you listen.
Picture: Daniel and Allison Hartman with their children: Makenna, Eden, Halle, Ethan, Asher, Levi, Emily Kate, Annalee, Solomon, and Ezra.
Introducing Allison Hartman from Florida. Allison and her husband, Daniel have 10 children and run a family business. We talk about how she fits this all together and how keeping the family together is their greatest goal as parents.
One of the most powerful things we can do to build our nation is to strengthen our marriages and family lives. In every decision and plan we make in our family lives we should first of all think: Will this strengthen our family life, or will it fragment our family life? We must get into the habit of choosing what strengthens the family.
God equates JOY with motherhood (Psalm 113:9). How do you become a joyful mother when you feel overwhelmed? How do you break through self-pity? How do you move from being despondent and in despair to being delightfully happy? You’ll find the answers in this episode.
I got to share things in this episode that I never meant to talk about. But I believe it is a message that every mother in the world needs to hear. Please don’t miss this one. It’s a little longer than usual, but you’ll want to hear it over and over again to get it into your very being. Share it with your friends too.
Introducing Chalice Hosanna Allison, Serene’s 18-year-old daughter. How many countries has she visited so far? Chalice and I get talking about books--books she loves and books I love.
I talk about the blessing of reading to your children, especially reading rhyming books to your young children. Bill Peet’s amazingly illustrated and incredible rhyming books were some of my favorites to read to our children. Of the 36 books he wrote for children, here are some of our favorites, which you can order online:
HUGE HAROLD (our absolute favorite)
KERMIT THE HERMIT
HUBERT’S HAIR-RAISING ADVENTURE (the first book he wrote in 1959).
RANDY’S DANDY LIONS
THE CABOOSE WHO GOT LOOSE, etc.
I would have kept the podcast going all day if I shared with you all the wonderful books I wanted to tell you about. Here are a few I mentioned.
ISHMAEL and SELF-RAISED by E.D.E.N. Southworth (Lamplighter books)
All books by A. W. Tozer, especially THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD, THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOLY, and THE PURSUIT OF GOD
Books by Elizabeth Goudge, especially GREEN DOLPHIN STREET
THE JOURNEY OF PRIVATE GALIONE (HOW AMERICA BECAME A SUPER POWER) by Mary Nahas. Few people know about this book, but every American should know how this young soldier was used to direct the history of America.
And so many more.

PROCLAIMING MOTHERS You will be excited and inspired as Evangeline, Nancy Campbell’s evangelistic and extrovert daughter joins her for this session.
As we read the Scriptures we constantly face “the tension of truth.” We often notice two apparently contradictory things, and yet because the Word of God is divinely inspired, both are true! We cannot hold one over the other. We face this as we read Psalm 68:11 where it talks about the “female proclaimers.” Does this mean women are to leave their homes to become preachers and pastors? What about the other Scriptures that reveal God’s plan for women to embrace home and mothering? How does it fit together? Listen to this podcast to find the answer.
Two quotes for you:
“Truths that are compelled to stand alone never stand straight and are not likely to stand long. Truth is one, but truths are many. Scriptural truths are interlocking and interdependent. A truth is rarely valid in isolation.” ~ A. W, Tozer
“No matter how much two teachings of Scripture may appear to be contradictory, they are not. They may be paradoxical, but they can never be contradictory . . . Denial of one set of biblical truth in order to affirm another is never an option for the faithful student of Scriptures.”
The devil entices mothers out of the home; God draws mothers back into the home! We cannot win a battle with a deserting army. More thoughts about the mighty army God is calling back to the homes of the nation. God looks for Purposeful mothers, Passionate mothers, Powerful mothers, Positive mothers, Protecting mothers, and Praying mothers who will impact nations.

Psalm 68:11, 12 tells the wonderful story of two armies. One is the army of men, and the other is the army of women in the home! Yes, the word that is used is “tsaba” and means “an army, a mass of persons especially organized for war, a host, battle, warfare.” And this army is in the home. Well, they are supposed to be in the home. The Hebrew word is in the feminine gender and therefore it means women. And this army at home is also called “SHE,” not “he.” Sadly, a big portion of this army have deserted! We need them back! Check It out!
We love family celebrations at our home. We think of every excuse to make them happen. It seems that there are parties at our home every week. In this episode I tell you about a special Ladies Luncheon that we have once a year where my daughters and daughters-in-law celebrate our birthdays together. We have so many children’s birthdays throughout the year that we don’t get time to celebrate one another’s. Of course, each one does something special with their own husband, but once a year we do something together in one hit! We planned it this month because my sister-in-law from New Zealand was here with us and we wanted her to join with us.
As is our custom, I asked each one present o share something God had been doing in their lives over the past year. Every story was wonderful. We laughed, and we cried. Don’t miss hearing the amazing story about my sister-in-law, Judy! I doubt whether you will have ever heard such a story!
Picture: Colin and I (right) visiting with my brother, Grant, and wife Judy in New Zealand. I call them “The Beloveds.” They have a beautiful marriage together. Our daughters call Colin and me “The Darlings” because that is what we always call one another.
On the desktop of my computer I have this picture of an eastern shepherd’s fold. It reminds me of my role as a shepherd mother and grandmother. There is only one door to this fold and do you notice that the shepherd sits in that door? He is the guardian. He will allow nothing or no one to come into that fold to harm his flock. We are to be like that shepherd, watching intently over our flock. That means more than physical mothering. It is caring for the spirit, soul, and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23). We don’t do this for wages. The hired wage earner who cares for children may do her best for them, but she does not lay down her life like the true shepherd or mother. Check out John 10:6-15.
God is a dwelling God. He dwells in His eternal world, and yet dwells in our hearts by His Spirit. He also loves to dwell with us in our homes--to live with us and walk with us. To fellowship with us.
The word “dwell” occurs 468 times in the Bible. I found 31 different Hebrew words for the word dwell, and 16 different Greek words. As I continued to search, I found 23 Hebrew words and 31 Greek words about eating meals and sitting around our tables! That’s over 100 words! And I am sure I haven’t exhausted them yet.
Listen as I share one of these Hebrew words with you. It is a beautiful word and will give you a greater understanding of the blessing of your home.
