As Jesus was headed to the cross, he traveled along the border between Galilee and Samaria. It is during His travel that ten lepers approached Him. While others kept their distance from those who had leprosy, Jesus took pity on them and healed all ten. One of them returned to give thanks. This week we shall look at this grateful one.

Some of Paul's writings to the new believers were strong and direct; he knew he must carefully guide them in their faith and service in Christ. This week, we'll look at that guidance from Paul; his words, given so long ago, are still relevant and important to us.

This week we shall look at how we can relate to others with whom we do not see eye to eye. Realizing that many believers come from different backgrounds and experiences and that it is inevitable that arguments could result, we need to find comfort as we come together in our faith.

Paul was familiar with suffering; as one who was beaten, stoned, shipwrecked and in prison many times, he knew what suffering was all about. In Romans, Paul provides encouragement and strengthens our trust as he gives us the hope in what is to come when Christ returns.

The centurion described in Luke was respected by the Jewish elders for his generosity. So when the centurion's valued servant became ill, the elders pleaded earnestly with Jesus to come and heal this servant. As Jesus approached, the centurion sent word to Jesus that he was not worthy to have Jesus in his home, to just speak the word of healing and that would suffice. Jesus marveled at this depth of faith. He asks us today, "When the Son of Man comes again, will He find such faith"?

The word tabernacle simply means that God wants to dwell among His people; and when a circle of believers are meeting in church for worship, then the Lord assures us that He is present. God has desired to dwell with us from the beginning of Creation. We are the work of His hand and we are made in His image. God wishes to be back in face-to-face communion with us; until then, He wants to dwell in our hearts.

In the past, covenants were binding agreements between two parties. When the just-freed Israelites gathered at Mt. Sinai, the Lord established a covenant to signify that they were His people. At the Mount, the people said, "All that the Lord has said we will do." Although the people disobeyed, the covenant stood for centuries and the Lord fulfilled His promises to them. Let's look at this relationship of God to Israel and see how it relates to us today.

When the Israelites gathered at Mt. Sinai, the Lord established a covenant with them. This covenant included the giving of the Ten Commandments, which were written by the finger of God onto two tablets of stone. Later when Jesus walked the earth, the Jews were so involved with keeping the letter of the Law, they missed the most important aspect of loving God and loving other people. Today we will see how Jesus' words compare to the Law given on the mount.

From humble beginnings to how Christians worship today, the differences in worship have some similarities. But there have been dramatic changes. John portrays the very throne room of God as being in constant worship and praise of God for the actions He did in Creation and to redeem mankind from sin. This week we will look deeper into how each of us might enrich our own worship experience when we gather together.

When Jesus was arrested and taken to the High Priest's residence, Peter and John followed. The disciples were scared; they feared for their own lives; they felt helpless to intervene with authorities. It was here in the High Priest's courtyard on that cold spring night that Peter, fearing for his life, denied knowing the Lord. It is something he quickly regretted and agonized over. As we look closely at this moment in Peter's life, we will see promise and hope for all of us.

Bible scholars have parsed Jesus' words and applied each point to either a historical event or to the future. And although a great deal of effort has gone into creating timelines of the events (the when), we need to look to Jesus (the who) for how His message is intended for us today.
