“Overflowing Joy”
Generosity is the outpouring of God’s work in our lives. It is Christ living through us to bless others. Paul asks a question of the Corinthians, “What do you have that you did not receive?” (1 Corinthians 4:7) The answer was implied…” Nothing”.
James states, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights…” (James 1:17) Whether you are given much or little doesn’t matter. Remember the widow’s mite in Luke 21, she put in the offering two small copper coins. To the world, nothing, to God, she gave more than anyone else. She gave out of her poverty.
The churches in Macedonia begged to join in the work of God, even though they were a poor church. (2 Corinthians 8) They wanted the joy of serving Christ. Ephesians 4:7 says, “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.” If you want to find the joy of the Lord, give according to the measure Christ has given you.

“One Day”
One day God will call our name and we will stand before the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, For the unbeliever, to make an account for their sins. For the Christ follower, our sins are forgiven, however we will stand in judgement for how we lived our life in Christ.
So, as Paul says, “…conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” (Philippians 1:27) God’s desire is for us to become “conformed to the image of His Son.” (Romans 8:29) That is our goal in life.
Will we reach sinless perfection? No, but know this, because of the cross of Christ we are justified when we come to the cross for salvation in Jesus. We are being sanctified, molded by the hand of God as we live our life in Christ. One day we will be glorified with Christ. A guarantee for the Christ follower. Let us keep our eyes fixed on the finish line and proclaim, “…to live is Christ.” (Philippians 1:21)
