The podcast where I talk about the things that interest me. Things like blue collar life, my fitness journey, movies, and so much more. Occasionally as time allows I have a guest on to take a deep dive in conversation for some longer format episodes.
Gaming with friends. Listen along as we set out on a mini campaign for the first of many D&D sessions.
What is up you guys. I am back again with another podcast from the car. I feel as if I will remain forever unsatisfied in my journey to capture clean audio in the car. Im not sure how that carpool singing show does it but it is a goal to one day be able to podcast on the go. Not that I have any issues with my studio. Sometimes a topic comes up and I would love the ability to capture it before it’s gone. As always you guys thank you for listening and enjoy this car podcast.
This holiday break Iv had the chance to catch up on a host of shows. Today I share a little on my most recent binge of The Mandalorian. Spoiler free of course. All the while multitasking the podcast and meal prepping for the little one.
Happy holidays everyone. Hope you all are having a safe and wonderful time with friends, family, or however you spend this time of year. I initially didn’t plan on recording a podcast during my break but I did pack my recording gear so I guess I was subconsciously preparing to do so if the opportunity presented itself. The family and I took a nice road trip and on todays podcast I share some of that as well as my quick review of the Netflix show The Witcher.
On todays podcast Chris and I are running some bounties in Diablo 3 as he gears up to making a push for top 100 on the solo monk leader boards. One of the things that we discuss during our run is being in an open marriage. My wife and I have recently started watching a Netflix show called Easy that tells a story of a couple navigating the waters of an open marriage.
Running some Gr's with Chris this evening. Anyone else making any push on season 19 of Diablo 3?
On the phone today talking with @slanted.glasses as we go over the game plan for a wedding I booked for this weekend. As a newbie to wedding videography I wanted to have someone who does this on a more full time basis. I am very comfortable behind the camera when capturing photos and am excited to see how things will play out as I capture video.
The winter weather is in full swing and the chill has brought on some had days to get motivated for the gym. During the winter months I tend to take more time warming up before my workouts either on the treadmill or the bike to get the blood flowing. Today was a chest day with Chris. His countdown to the Spartan race has begun.
Morning cardio session with @slanted.glasses asking a fellow creator about his wedding videography. I have a wedding booked in a few days that will be one of the few weddings I will not be photographing but I will instead be filming. Not wanting to step into any job unprepared I caught up with my friend to ask for a few tips he might have for me. After that I met with Chris for some back and bicep work. He’s been showing up later and later each day. We will see how much of this gym life the man can maintain.
Working hams today in the gym with Chris. We moved our leg days to Mondays with the hope that while everyone else is doing chest we will have the squat racks to ourselves. This however seemed to be everyone else plan as well. I guess when there is adversity you adapt and keep moving forward.
Shoulder day in the gym with Chris. In todays podcast we are trying out a new approach to the episodes. Its my idea to be able to record podcasts out in the world where conversations can be more candid. While working out it is one of the times I have some of the more candid conversations with people. So it is fitting that this is where I test this approach. Like all new things there are a few bugs with this episode. The major bug that stands out right away is Chris has now mic audio. Enjoy.
In todays episode Chris shares a little about his upcoming trip to a renaissance festival. We also ask the all important would you rather question and test out recording out on the street.
Todays podcast is the season review of the HBO show Euphoria. This is a spoiler filled podcast so consider yourself warned.
It has been a hot minute since i’ve last played Diablo 3 and boy was I out of my element. Fortunately Chris is a veteran of the game and power leveled me this morning from level 12 to paragon 83 in just under an hour. I dusted off my keyboard and got back into the grove of playing as a monk class. In todays episode you will catch the audio from out livestream session. Its a new edition to the format but hey my podcast my rules. Enjoy.
Slanted glasses stops buy the podcast for some Streets of Rage 2. We talk about our entry into the world of video games as well as what brought him into the world of videography. As a wedding videographer slanted glasses shares some of his stories and even a wedding no no forgetting to hit record on the camera.
Lets talk about the new season of A Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu. This episode hit me so hard in the feels. My wife and I were really emotional with this one. In todays podcast I don’t really review the episode but rather take time to talk about how it made me feel and what my thoughts were. If you guys want to join in on the conversation check out the comment section on youtube and leave your message there.
HBO mini series Chernobyl is out and wow was it just as intense as the previous four episodes. This review is semi spoiler filled so be warned before listening.
Always be my maybe just released on May 31st and I finally got the time to sit down and watch this with the wife. Great date night in kind of movie with a few things i had an opinion about. But in short I say go check it out for yourself it is a good one.

This show is amazing right out the gate. With that out of the way let me say thank you to those who have stuck around and continued to show support to the channel. It has been a while but I am happy to get back into the swing of things with my Podcast channel.
Today Chris is back on the podcast and we're talking internet speed. Do you have slow internet because I do.
Recently I’ve watches a few popular youtubers share their move towards removing social media apps from their phones. It’s not a total goodbye to social media but it a huge step in putting the phone down and being more present. Some limit their social media time to desktops and even tablets. I have had success in just setting light boundaries on myself. For example when I get home from work my phone is put down and lending my full attention to my family. Websites like reddit and YouTube are still big for me but are now limited to the last hours of the day when the kids are asleep. I haven’t misses sites like Instagram or Facebook much with the exception of an occasional post I don’t spend as much time consuming that content. It’s been nice to take a step back but where do you stand with social media. Do you feel it’s time for a break. Start small with things like no phones at the dinner table or even removing one app you done use as much.
In today’s episode Chris returns to the podcast to talk about training. More specifically training with purpose. If your goal is to make gains for a sport or you find yourself on the road towards joining the 1000 pound club your training should be tailored and with purpose.
Recently I was asked to dive a little deeper into my previous talk about setting boundries with my son and teaching him about tools vs toys.
Today we are in what will be the new podcast studio, and talking about eliminating negative energy.
In todays episode I answer those that ask where i’ve been in regards to the gym or my lack of presence on social media.
Scams and fitness influencers. Brittany Dawn is the latest in the social media headlines for selling cookie cutter meal plans and workout routines to her followers.
On todays podcast Im joined by Chris to talk about the Netflix origonal show The Umbrella Academy. Spoiler warning we talking spoilers. The episode 55.1 represents a podcast that comes ahead of the other scheduled episodes that usually post every Wednesday.
What is up you guys today we are talking about the fitness company Peloton. They sell a spin cycle and a treadmill as well as a fitness app if you don’t want to spend the money or have a cycle or tree of your own. So who is this device for, is it worth the money, and what do we think about it?
Becoming a brand ambassador can be an appealing thing for some on social media. however is it really worth selling a product with the intent to make a commission to your followers? During the time when posting with products is no longer considered selling out but rather a form of legitimizing yourself what’s the reality of being a brand ambassador. In todays episode I talk about Kora fitness apparel. They are a company who donates a portion of their product sales to one of four charities that you the buyer can choose from. The cloths look nice on the site however this is not a product review but rather a look into becoming a brand ambassador. This is also not a shot against Kora nor is it praising their products. They popped up on my social media radar and I am simply using them as an example to analyze and ask questions. Thank you guys for your continued support of the podcast and enjoy.
Drink a case of beer every night and they will say you have a drinking problem. Eat fast food every day for lunch and they will ask to go with you next time. Where do you draw the line with food. do you demonize eating in excess or do you justify eating out more than once a weed because of convienence? Lets talk about it?
Today Im reviewing/previewing the Rodecaster Pro. A one stop shop mixer for the podcast enthusiast and even prosumer podcaster. Often Im asked about my set up but with the way I've wired things to work for me it would be too lengthy an episode. So instead I thought id share my thoughts on a new product from Rode that I would recommend to anyone starting out that wants to invest in some good equipment.
Today we're talking juice. Well celery juice to be specific. Is it beneficial, why do you juice, and more. My wife and I started in on this celery juicing thing at the beginning of the year. I got into it as a means of support as well as to try something new that is health related. Will it work? does it work? i’m not sure but even if there is a shift in my approach towards health and dieting then it will have done something positive.
Eating out is not cheap by any stretch. Today I talk a little about how I am approaching eating out in 2019 and what goes through my mind when Im asked about going to eat out. Eating out is not cheap by any stretch. It can add up really fast. Last month my wife and I took a look at the finances after out winter vacation and we were surprised at how much money we spent on food alone. Now i’m not talking about groceries. Im talking fast food as well as bad foods like muffins from Costco and donuts. looking at the money you can save by cutting out those weekday lunch runs can be a huge tip in the scale for you financially as well as with your health.
Today I take the podcast on the road (literally) with an in car podcast. I have tried time after time to get a podcast I can be happy with while in the car but road noise among other things have always held me back. As I continue to learn how to edit and what will ultimately be acceptable in my book I will keep trying.
Longest episode to date I think. Today we have guest Jesse on the podcast. He is a salon owner and well as hair stylist. In this episode Jesse shares his knowledge of the biz, we touch on social media, and at one point forget were even recording a podcast as the conversation continues. A huge thank you to those who continue to support the podcast as I grow into finding my voice on this platform. What started out as a primarily fitness themed show is now evolving into something I am really excited about. Be sure to check out Jesse as well as Blur Hair Studios on Instagram.
Consistency is key in any endeavor. When it comes to fitness you have to make it apart of your life in order to yield results.
Today we breakdown and talk about the Overhead Press. A true test of a persons strength the OHP is a movement every lifter should have in their rotation at one point or another.
Accepting failure can be a tricky concept to adjust to as a lifter. In todays podcast I touch a little on what failure means to me in the gym. Failure is your wall, your new hill to overcome, your limitation. When you look at failure on a lift like this you can analyze and find a way to train around it, build up weak areas, and ultimately overcome that failure. I believe everyone should fail a lift. It is a humbling experience that can make sure the biggest progress you might not even think about and that is self defeat. Before we even approach the bar our head is flooded with thoughts of failure. During the lift these thought find their companion “excuses” ultimately leading you to sometimes bail out when you could have pushed through.
On todays podcast I talk a little about how I save time in the gym, maximize my workouts, and improve social media productivity.
In todays podcast I talk about advertising for others. Social media is riddled with advertisers and influencers. Know your worth and know or believe in the product.
You might be interested in getting into shape or back into the gym after a long break. As a first timer the gym can feel like a daunting experience with all of the equipment and people who look like they know what they are doing. All of these things can make it hard to get back into the swing of things or even to get started as a newbie. In todays podcast I go over a few reasons why you might be a prime candidate for a personal trainer even if you feel you don’t fit the bill. As always thank you guys for your continued support of the podcast. There will be more content being uploaded in the next coming weeks. I am currently looking to release three podcasts a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays so be sure to subscribe.
Networking with others. It can be in life, work, and even the gym. Networking with others can be a powerful technique in growing as an individual. I try to work with a wide variety of people in the gym. along my fitness journey these people have motivated me and helped me to grow while on this journey. Thank you guys again for all the continued support and enjoy.
Relying on others to motivate you into going to the gym and why this isn’t the best for you. When on your fitness journey you need to learn to go at it alone. Getting a membership with someone may be nice or even financially beneficial but if the reason you go depends on if someone else does then you are off to a bad start and failure to commit will soon follow. This isn’t to say having a workout partner is a bad thing or to bash those who encourage you. This is to affirm the notion that this is a lifestyle and that going alone should be just apart of your life as anything else you do solo. Thank you guys again for your continued support and enjoy.
On todays episode by IG follower request we are doing a Dad Life episode. This is something new to the show so far but working with the group of guys that I do we spend a lot of time taking about being fathers and dad life topics. As always thank you guys for your continued support and enjoy.
Today on the podcast I spend some time talking about the company/ product Revital U. For those of you unfamiliar this is a coffee product that claims to give you more energy as well as aid in weight loss. One of the reasons I am taking time to speak about this so because it is another MLM or multi level marketing company with “brand influencers” taking to social media. I am not selling this product nor do I recommend people get involved with a MLM. If you are a seller or you do like MLM structures companies this by all means “do you”

Back again with guest coach Heidi. Today we talk a little about crossfit as well networking with your local fitness community. Working with others can definitely help you to grow in your brand as well as on your fitness journey. In the personal trainer community it can often feel like it is a dog eat dog business but there are so many potential clients who may be on the fence about getting fit. When they see local fitness motivators and trainers working together it can inspire someone to take that first step into becoming a better version of themselves. Living the dad life and once again on that broken sleep schedule. In todays episode I take the podcast outdoors with my oldest son as I talk a little about my training and lack of sleep with a newborn in the house. As always thank you guys for listening and providing positive feedback. Maintaining the energy for the gym without cheating my family out of the energy they deserve from me can be hard. With our newborn my wife and I are once again going through those sleepless nights. A few of my workouts have suffered due to this but for the most part as each day passes I find that my body is adapting. I could not imagine nor would i recommend maintaining this type of schedule long term but for the most part it isn’t as tough as I had thought it would be during those first few weeks.

Dealing with a bad day at the gym can be one of the hardest things. In today’s podcast I talk a little bit about how I got through a bad workout session in the gym. I feel that it’s important to at least go through the motions even if you don’t complete your work out as intended. You can do things like lift that half a percentage of the weight you had planned on doing or tune out and get some cardio in. I feel that workout is better than no work out at all.
In today’s podcast we sit down with returning guest Justin Groth to talk about if it fits your macros and answer Instagram follower questions. If it fits your macros is among many weight loss trends that are out there and are being heavily promoted by influencers on social media.
