This Family Travels Podcast

WELCOME! Over the past 9 years our family of four, with two very energetic boys (Cortez, 9 and Cash, 6), have traveled to 18 countries and over 150 cities including a 400-day RTW (Round The World) trip. With family, friends, friends-of-friends, co-workers asking "how do you do it" "why do you do it" and "how can I do it", I figured it's my duty to share with all those families out there our tips, tricks, advice on traveling with kids. Many failures and many successes traveling, countless testing of ALL THINGS TRAVEL - airlines, airports, hotels, airbnb's, home stays, kid equipment - there is much wisdom to share! And hopefully I can inspire listeners to travel more with their kids... because it is amazing.

Hello and Welcome to Episode #4 of This Family Travels Podcast!

I'm back after a few months due to complexities of school for the kids, work and trying to stay sane with all the public health changes every other week.

Over the past 9 years our family of four, with two very energetic boys (Cortez, 9 and Cash, 7), have traveled to 18 countries and over 150 cities including a 400-day RTW (Round The World) trip. With family, friends, friends-of-friends, co-workers asking "how do you do it" "why do you do it" and "how can I do it", I figured it's my duty to share with all those families out there our tips, tricks, advice on traveling with kids. During our many failures and many successes, countless testing of ALL THINGS TRAVEL - airlines, airports, hotels, airbnb's, home stays, kid equipment - there is much wisdom to share! And hopefully inspire listeners to travel with their kids... because it is amazing.

During this episode I talk about our journey to Portugal in August and what it looks like to travel during a Pandemic. From road tripping, staying in hotels to what the airports look like and airline protocols... you'll hear from us, first-hand experience, of what it is like "out there" traveling during the Pandemic.

And last, but not least, my wine of the episode. Today I taste the It’s a 2019 Portuguese Rose from Ana Diogo-Draper. In honor of our Portugal trip, I felt this was a great way to celebrate our love of all things Portugal.

Ana Diogo-Draper is a Portuguese transplant to California and is currently the Director of Winemaking @ Artesa in Napa Valley, but also makes her own wines on the side. This wine is accurately described as Bright and vibrantly fruity, with zings of citrus and mouth-watering crispness... perfect for a warm summer day.

Hello and Welcome to Episode #3 of This Family Travels Podcast!

I'm back after over a month due to the Coronavirus and trying to stay sane with shelter-in-place orders. With my first attempt at intro music and sound effects... let me know what you think!

Over the past 9 years our family of four, with two very energetic boys (Cortez, 9 and Cash, 6), have traveled to 18 countries and over 150 cities including a 400-day RTW (Round The World) trip. And hopefully inspire listeners to travel with their kids... because it is amazing.

During this episode I talk about being grounded from the Coronavirus Pandemic and how you can still satisfy your travel bug even though you can’t go anywhere. I will discuss about travel planning and how I plan for a trip - everything from budgets to picking a destination to booking your tickets and vaccinations. Hopefully my approach may help booking your next trip. Next I talk about how you can travel even though you can't leave your house - travel virtually! I'll share where we have been going virtually, some amazing virtual tours you will have to try and other ways to see the world virtually... and may even help with planning your next trip!

And last, but not least, my wine of the episode. Today I taste the 2017 Fleur de Solene, a Red Blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grenache, from Clos Selene, A winery that we had planned on visiting during a wine tasting weekend in Paso Robles, California but had to cancel due to the Coronovirus pandemic.

My 2nd Podcast Attempt! Welcome to This Family Travels Podcast!

Over the past 9 years our family of four, with two very energetic boys (Cortez, 9 and Cash, 6), have traveled to 18 countries and over 150 cities including a 400-day RTW (Round The World) trip. And hopefully inspire listeners to travel with their kids... because it is amazing.

In addition to my travel passion, my husband and I enjoy a passion of wine. Every episode I will share with you a unique wine from a small winery or wine maker from our recent travel destination. In hopes that this will, not only inspire you to travel, but inspire you to try new, unique, hopefully indigenous, wine varietals. All inspired by a great book "Tasting The Past" by Kevin Begos and my passion to support small businesses.

During this episode I talk about plane travel with kiddos. I provide some tips and tricks based on our 9 years of travel to make the flight, short or long haul, less overwhelming and more enjoyable. Advice on what you should do pre-flight with your kiddos and also during the flight. Including what areas you should disinfect on the plane - some of these you WILL BE SURPRISED! Especially now we are dealing with the Coronavirus Pandemic. I also share what is in the kids' carry on... what toys or supplies are a MUST in our boys’ bags for flight travel and what I have in my carry on for the kids, as well. And last, but not least, my wine of the episode. Today I taste a 2018 Rosé from Saint Clair Brown Winery and Brewery in Napa, California. One of the small wineries we visited in our trip last month to Napa and Sonoma Valley.
