The scripture talks about the garment of praise. It says that God has given them that mourn in Zion the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. When the angle told Peter to put on his garment, I believe that it was the garment of praise Peter was told to put on, and pull or strip off the spirit of heaviness. Why put on the garment of praise and strip off the spirit of heaviness? It's was because Peter was still in the prison environment even though the angle had come upon him light had shined in the prison and he had put on his shoes as instructed by the angel. To have put on his garment would be a bold statement that he was no longer a prisoner, but a preacher, though he still in prison. Remember the case of Paul and Silas in the prison. They prayed for their deliverance from prison. After praying, they stripped off the spirit of heaviness and put on their garment of praise by praising the Lord because they believed that God had heard and answered them, and so they were no longer prisoners but preachers.
