Episode Summary In the book of Hebrews, we see, once again, that Christ’s sacrifice was the ultimate fulfillment of all that the Old Testament sacrifices represented: God’s forgiveness for sin. Previous to Christ’s death and resurrection, we were barred from God’s presence and relationship with Him. But by believing in Him and accepting his sacrifice, we are no longer guilty, but cleansed and made whole. In short, His sacrifice clears the way for us to have eternal life.
Armed with the promise of eternal life, we still have the task of going on and growing in our faith. This process takes time. Daily commitment and service produce maturity. Through that maturity and ever-deepening faith, we are not easily shaken by temptation or worldly concerns. Yes, deep-seated faith enables Christians to face trials, both large and small. It also enables us to stay true to God even when we are under fire. Finally, such commitment coupled with endurance builds character, frees us from thinking we can never be good enough, and leads us on to the ultimate victory: eternal life in the company of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through Hebrews 9:24-28 which says (ESV):
24 For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. 25 Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, 26 for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, 28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

Episode Summary The feast of all saints, or All Saints Day, is when Christians remember all who have gone before. It’s a time for remembering the great-grandparents, the aunts and uncles, the cousins and the life-long friends who have been close to us in the faith over the years. They are saints now, but they were saints when they were alive as well. Yes, saints are all believers who have chosen to follow Christ, even those who stumble a lot but nevertheless still give it their best. Put another way, saints are simply people who have chosen to point their lives in what they believe is God’s direction. Together they appear to be in lock-step, marching along the same Christian path. Reminds one of that great gospel song, “When the Saints go Marching in.”
The stories of those saints who will forever stay in our minds and hearts can still give a portion of their spirit to us who now run our own race. As models of inspiration, they can help us move ever forward along the Christian path and provide the strength and hope we need to lead holy lives today that truly reflect the Christ-like nature of those who have gone before. The Bible begins with the magnificent story of God’s creation of the universe and it ends with His creation of a new heaven and a new earth. This offers tremendous hope and encouragement for the believer. When we are with God, with our sins forgiven and our future secure, we and all the saints will be like Christ. And we will be made perfect like Him.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through Revelation 21:1-6a which says (ESV):
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also, he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.

Episode Summary When it comes to Christian giving, are you still somewhat in the dark as to how to appropriately respond? The apostle Paul put it simply and succinctly, “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. Whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” Paul explained further that giving is an individual matter that is settled in the privacy of one’s own heart. Second, giving requires resolve; by this Paul meant that it is to be based on a calculated decision and not a matter to be settled lightly or impulsively. Paul also emphasized that giving is to be a private, not a public, decision. Therefore any chance for public acclaim or special recognition just won’t happen. Humility becomes the order of the day.
Yes, the amount we give to God privately and from the heart shows our real priorities. When we give less than what we know we should, it is obvious that He is not at the center of our lives. Remember the poor widow in the book of Mark who gave the most though her gift was the smallest? The value of a gift is not determined by its amount, but by the spirit in which it is given. Therefore, when you give, take time to remember that gifts of any size are pleasing to God when they are given out of gratitude, a humble and joyful heart, and a spirit of generosity. How are God’s many blessings affecting your heart and your giving spirit? Is there true joy in your world?
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through Mark 12:38-44 which says (ESV):
38 And in his teaching he said, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes and like greetings in the marketplaces 39 and have the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts,40 who devour widows’ houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”
41 And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. 42 And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. 43 And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. 44 For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”

Episode Summary Continuing in the book of Mark, Reverend Christina this morning examines the section that focuses on what Jesus taught his disciples about serving others. Key characters in this story are the disciples James and John. Together they came to Jesus requesting honored places in Christ’s kingdom. Jesus did not subject the two disciples to ridicule for asking, but he did deny their request. Instead of assuring them a high position in the Kingdom, he explained that true greatness comes in serving others. Perhaps the request made by James and John came out of fear of Jesus’ impending death and resurrection and how this would affect their continued association with Jesus when it came time for them to join Him in the Kingdom to come. Whatever the cause, what Christ was telling them was the desire to be on top and offered high position would not truly help the two followers, but might hinder them in their Christian ministry to the needs of others. Deep-seated humility joined with a commitment to assisting others will bring new life to both giver and recipient alike. Christ taught that message and His disciples finally got it; so should we all.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through Mark 10:35-45 which says (ESV):
35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said to him, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you.” 36 And he said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?” 37 And they said to him, “Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory.” 38 Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?” 39 And they said to him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized, 40 but to sit at my right hand or at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.” 41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be indignant at James and John. 42 And Jesus called them to him and said to them, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 43 But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Previous Post: The Giving of Our Wealth || Next Post: Giving All We Have
Episode Summary Today, Reverend Christina continues her new sermon series with giving as its main theme. This morning, she focuses on an incident described in three of the gospels. It involves a rich man who asks Jesus just what he should do to gain eternal life. Jesus responded with a challenge: he firmly told the questioner to “go your way, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor.” What this challenge did was expose what might keep the rich man from ever enjoying eternal life: his love of money. Money represented the man’s pride of accomplishment, a kind of “I did it my way” attitude, a way of thinking that prevented the man from keeping the first commandment, to let nothing be more important than turning one’s whole life and heart over to God.
Truly this man’s wealth had made his life comfortable while concurrently enhancing his power and prestige. When Jesus challenged him to sell everything he owned, Jesus was revealing the very basis of the man’s security and identity. The man failed to understand that he would be even more secure if he followed Jesus and if he kept his focus only on the degree of security his wealth could afford him. In essence, the man’s wealth was his god. He had failed to recognize that we cannot love God with all of our hearts and yet keep our money to ourselves. Generously and joyfully we must allocate a substantial portion of our God-given wealth to those in true need. Yes, by giving selflessly, not selfishly, we reveal our attitude toward money, whether it is our servant or our master.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through Mark 10:17-31 which says (ESV):
17 And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” 20 And he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” 21 And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22 Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 And they were exceedingly astonished, and said to him, “Then who can be saved?” 27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” 28 Peter began to say to him, “See, we have left everything and followed you.” 29 Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

Episode Summary Today, Reverend Christina begins a new sermon series with giving as its main theme. This morning she focuses on an incident in the seventh chapter of the book of Mark. Besides Jesus, the primary character in this story is a Syrophoenician woman whose ancient ancestors were enemies of Israel. The disciples asked Jesus to get rid of this Canaanite woman who had been constantly bothering them with her nagging persistence. The reason the woman seemed so desperate was her daughter in a far away location was severely ill and needed healing. The disciples showed no compassion for or sensitivity to her needs, but Jesus did. When the woman addressed Him as Lord and stated her great need, Jesus replied: “Oh woman, great is your faith, let it be as you desire.” It was at that moment, many miles distant, that the woman’s child was healed.
Yes, Jesus through His grace, understanding, and love for everyone helped not only the woman but, indirectly, the disciples as well. They learned that it is possible to become so occupied with spiritual matters that we just might miss real needs and opportunities right around us. The moral: be open to the beauty of God’s grace and His Good News message for all people, never shutting out those who may be different from you. Being all-inclusive and forever girded in God’s grace and love will show others the way to deep-seated faith and living life God’s way.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through Mark 7:24-30 which says (ESV):
24 Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret. 25 Right away a woman who had heard about him came and fell at his feet. Her little girl was possessed by an evil spirit, 26 and she begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter.
Since she was a Gentile, born in Syrian Phoenicia, 27 Jesus told her, “First I should feed the children—my own family, the Jews. It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”
28 She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are allowed to eat the scraps from the children’s plates.”
29 “Good answer!” he said. “Now go home, for the demon has left your daughter.” 30 And when she arrived home, she found her little girl lying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone.

Episode Summary Today, Reverend Christina concludes her sermon series titled God is My Rock. She focuses on Psalms 19 and 95, which deal with worshipping and praising God, especially for physical victories and positive answers to prayer. Especially in the Psalms of David, there are references to two appellations that were dear to David’s heart: 1) that God was his rock or strength, or put another way, his defense and refuge; and 2) that God had rescued or redeemed him from wayward activities. In fact, David felt God alone had the ability to redeem him from both sin and death. At the end of Psalm 19, David closes with these words, “Let the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” David here is asking God to approve his words and thoughts as though they were offerings brought to the altar. We can do the same in our own lives by beginning each day with a prayer that God’s love will guide us in the way we think, say and do.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through Psalm 19:14 and Psalm 95:1-7 which say (ESV):
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
3 For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
7 For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.
Today, if you hear his voice,

Episode Summary Continuing with her sermon series God is My Rock, Reverend Christina this morning turns to Psalm 27. The theme of this Psalm is maintaining an unwavering confidence in God, our protective rock, for keeping us safe, sheltered, and free from fear. Here’s how David describes God’s protective nature in the Psalm’s fifth verse: “For in the time of trouble, He shall hide me in His pavilion. In the secret place of His tabernacle, He shall hide me and he shall set me high upon a rock.” We often run to God when we experience difficulties such as fear, uncertainty, rejection, or sickness. David did. In fact, he sought God’s guiding presence every day. When troubles came his way, David was already experiencing the Lord’s faithful presence, which gave him the strength and preparation necessary to handle any test. Believers can reach out to God for relief or assistance at any time, but only when seemingly overwhelming problems are knocking on the door. Many of our problems can be far more easily handled by seeking God’s help and direction beforehand. David did, and so should we all.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through parts of Psalm 27 which says (ESV):
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evildoers assail me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.
3 Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.
5 For he will hide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will lift me high upon a rock.
.
.
.
13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!

Episode Summary This morning Reverend Christina continues with her new sermon series titled God is My Rock. Her talk this morning is based in part on Psalm 61, which is a prayer for security and assurance. It reveals that wherever we are, we can trust that God, our faithful Rock, will be there to answer our cries for help. He was there when David was far from home and felt the need to reach out to God by writing Psalm 61. Thankfully God is not limited to anything, including geographic location. Even when we are far away from familiar surroundings and find ourselves in an unsafe or dangerous situation, God, our Rock, never abandons us. What’s more, His all-surpassing strength is unfailing and always with us. As David strongly implies in Psalm 61, by trusting God to be our Rock, Salvation and Defense, our entire approach to how we live, react, and respond to difficult situations can be altered. Fear, hatred, and resentment fall away and are replaced with the assurance that when we are resting in God’s strength, nothing can shake us.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through Psalm 61 which says (ESV):
1Hear my cry, O God,
listen to my prayer;
2 from the end of the earth I call to you
when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
that is higher than I,
3 for you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the enemy.
4 Let me dwell in your tent forever!
Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah
5 For you, O God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Prolong the life of the king;
may his years endure to all generations!
7 May he be enthroned forever before God;
appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
8 So will I ever sing praises to your name,
as I perform my vows day after day.

Episode Summary This morning, Reverend Christina introduces a new sermon series titled “God is My Rock” and discusses various metaphorical aspects of Psalm 18. A Psalm of David, this Psalm was written to thank God for his protection, deliverance, and victory. In this Psalm, David characterized God’s care and protection with some interesting symbols or metaphors. David’s aim was to characterize God’s boundless care of His people in a variety of symbolic forms.
First, God is like a rock, rocks such as those found in high elevations whose projecting crags offered security and refuge.
Second, God is like a fortress. Here the word fortress means a place of defense, a stronghold that an enemy could not overcome. Such fortresses were often constructed on high, rocky embankments, where those who fled there would be doubly safe.
Here’s another symbolic phrase that might be unfamiliar to you: “the horn of my salvation.” Here, references made to the means many horned animals used for their defense. Their horn protects and defends them, just as the Lord protects His own in unsafe situations. In Psalm 18 and many other books of the Bible, symbols used metaphorically can help readers better understand what the writer, or Psalmist, intends. Specifically, in Psalm 18, most agree that David used his chosen symbols to show that as the wicked have many means to hurt, so God has many ways to help.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through parts of Psalm 18 which says (ESV):
1 I love you, O Lord, my strength.
2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised,
and I am saved from my enemies.…
46 The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock,
and exalted be the God of my salvation—
47 the God who gave me vengeance
and subdued peoples under me,
48 who rescued me from my enemies;
yes, you exalted me above those who rose against me;
you delivered me from the man of violence.
49 For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations,
and sing to your name.
50 Great salvation he brings to his king,
and shows steadfast love to his anointed,
to David and his offspring forever.

Episode Summary In the twelfth chapter of 2 Corinthians, we find Paul broadly describing a unique affliction God had brought upon him. Paul referred to it as a thorn in the flesh, and despite his constant prayers for its removal, God opted not to do this. As a result, the so-called thorn kept Paul humble and was a constant reminder of his need for perennial contact with God. Indeed, God’s grace and power were displayed here. His decision to allow Paul’s thorn, or affliction, to remain gave Paul strength and courage to continue his work. He pressed on because he knew he must rely on God for effectiveness and strength, rather than on personal energy, effort, or talent. Our weakness not only helps develop Christian character, but it also deepens our worship, because in admitting our weakness, we affirm God’s strength. Here’s something else to think about: God does not intend for us to seek to be weak, passive or ineffective. Life batters us enough with its own hindrances and setback, so when unexpected hindrances to come, we must depend on God. Only His power and grace will make us truly effective, service-oriented, humble Christians. Just remember Paul’s words to the Corinthians when he said, “And Christ said to me, ‘My Grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.'”
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 which says (NRSV):
7 even considering the exceptional character of the revelations. Therefore, to keep me from being too elated, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me, to keep me from being too elated. 8 Three times I appealed to the Lord about this, that it would leave me, 9 but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

Episode Summary This morning, Reverend Christina continues her sermon series in 2 Corinthians. The subject is giving, something that Paul felt strongly about. As we heard last Sunday, Paul wanted believers in the Corinthian church to be leaders in giving. This he made clear when he addressed the Corinthian believers, encouraging them to exhibit exuberant generosity. The Corinthian church membership had been conscientious in their giving practices in the past, and Paul complimented them for this. But now he was beseeching them to go the extra mile, so to speak. He underscored this by reminding them that God delights in cheerful and generous givers. We too can be generous in a wide range of giving practices. For example, caring, sharing, serving, and witnessing come to mind in addition to abundantly fulfilling our financial obligations. As we give, we can express our gratitude for all God has already given us while motivating others to do the same. Remember, generous giving displays our deep-seated confidence in God’s faithful and loving provision. It also shows, in no small way, that the giver is the greatest recipient. Now here is Reverend Christina to tell us more about this morning’s message.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through 2 Corinthians 9:6-11 which says (NRSV):
6 The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work. 9 As it is written,
“He scatters abroad, he gives to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.”
10 He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us;

Episode Summary This morning, Reverend Christina continues her sermon series in 2 Corinthians. The subject is giving, something that Paul felt strongly about. In fact, Paul wanted believers in the Corinthian church to be leaders in giving. Knowing that giving is a natural response of love, Paul refrained from ordering the Corinthians to give, but he did encourage them to give to the point that confirmed their love was sincere and their giving commensurate with that love. Paul also gave the church several principles to use as a guide for giving. These included: (1) each person should follow through on previous promises; (2) each person should give as much as he or she is able; (3) each person must not be swayed by others but must personally make the final determination as to the amount of the gift; (4) and lastly, each person must take into account that which God has given him or her. In this connection, we, like the ancient Christians, must also remember that God gives to us so we can give to others. However we give to God–monetarily or through ministries, time, energy, witnessing–let us use Paul’s principles along with our hearts as a guide to responsible, faith-based giving.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through 2 Corinthians 8:7-15 which says:
7 But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
8 I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
10 And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. 11 Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means.12 For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.
13 Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. 14 At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, 15 as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”

Episode Summary Continuing in the book of 2 Corinthians, we see Paul living the kind of life he spoke about, a life in which everything he did honored God. Indeed, Christ’s love controlled his life. For the more the death and resurrection of Christ, made Paul dead to his old ways, and he encouraged others to follow his lead. The early Christians and those of today were and are brand new on the inside. When they accept Christ, the Holy Spirit gives them new life. In effect, they are transformed. Not just reformed, rehabilitated, or reeducated, but recreated into a new life. Yes, they are a new creation and begin to live in harmony and vital union with Jesus Christ. Finally, when God brings us back to Himself, that is, reconciles us through our trust in Jesus, we have the opportunity to encourage others to do the same. When we do, and newcomers commit, they’ll not just be turning over a new leaf, but beginning a new life under a new and most righteous master–Jesus Christ.
In this week’s show, Reverend Christina Thompson takes listeners through 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 which says:
16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
