Welcome back to the Late Night Fright!

Tonight’s movie isn’t exactly a horror film, but a classic of the action/adventure genre that has horrific overtones. From director Steven Spielberg and executive producer George Lucas, it’s 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, the movie that introduced audiences to archaeologist Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford). Indy is tasked with finding the legendary Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis can get their hands on it. Karen Allen, Paul Freeman, John Rhys-Davies and Denholm Elliott costar in what many consider to be one of the greatest movies ever made. Oh yeah…it’s also pretty damn creepy!

Welcome to the Late Night Fright, broadcasting from WKMF Cozy Corner Public Radio! Pour yourself a cup of coffee, put your feet up and get ready to howl at the moon as your horror hosts Dan and Faith take a look back at classic horror and science-fiction films.

Tonight's film, THE INNOCENTS, was released on November 24th, 1961 and stars the legendary Deborah Kerr (FROM HERE TO ETERNITY, THE KING AND I) as an English governess dispatched to Bly Manor to take care of orphans Miles (Martin Stephens, VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED) and Flora (Pamela Franklin, THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE, THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE). The governess comes to believe that the children are possessed by the spirits of two of their former caretakers. Are the ghosts real...or are the supernatural events the products of an overactive, undersexed Victorian era imagination?

Directed by Jack Clayton (SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES) and beautifully filmed by Freddie Francis (cinematographer for GLORY, director of films for both Hammer and Amicus), THE INNOCENTS, based on THE TURN OF THE SCREW by Henry James, was adapted to the screen by Truman Capote (BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S, IN COLD BLOOD) and was voted one of the 25 greatest horror films of all time by THE GUARDIAN.

Join Dan and Faith as they dive into the ambiguity of the film, discuss the recent news that Nicolas Cage (FACE/OFF, MOONSTRUCK) will be portraying Dracula in the upcoming Universal Studios film RENFIELD, and bring Creepy Classics month to a close. Sweeney, Robert Patrick and James Garner.

Along the way we've talked about totalitarian governmental regimes, the age of the local horror host and UFO's...how can we possibly cap this month of programming off? By going to the edge of the solar system and boarding a ship that's been to HELL!!!

Starring Laurence Fishburne (THE MATRIX, MAN OF STEEL), Sam Neill (JURASSIC PARK, DEAD CALM), Kathleen Quinlan (APOLLO 13, THE DOORS), Joely Richardson (THE PATRIOT, NIP/TUCK), Jason Isaacs (the HARRY POTTER series of films, THE PATRIOT), Richard T. Big Monster Month continues on the Late Night Fright and we have spared no expense this time! Journey with your horror hosts, Dan and Faith, to a little island off the coast of Coast Rica where industrialist John Hammond has been busy building a biological preserve with some rather interesting creatures…

From director Steven Spielberg (JAWS, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK) and author/screenwriter Michael Crichton (WESTWORLD, CONGO, E/R) comes an adventure 65 million years in the making, 1993’s JURASSIC PARK.

Sam Neill (DEAD CALM, ESCAPE PLAN), Laura Dern (WILD AT HEART, TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN), and Jeff Goldblum (THE BIG CHILL, INDEPENDENCE DAY) are about to come face to face with dinosaurs! Some are friendly vegetarians and others have a taste for meat…and blood…

Widely considered to be one of the finest action/thrillers ever made, JURASSIC PARK is a spiritual sequel to Spielberg’s massive 1975 hit JAWS and revolutionized special effects and blockbuster filmmaking in much the same way that 1977’s STAR WARS did.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the woods, along comes Jason Voorhees again...for the first time...confused? So are we!

Join your late night horror hosts Dan and Faith for a look back at 1981's slasher sequel FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2, a pivotal moment in the franchise as it properly introduced audiences around the world to Jason, the killer who would go on to achieve iconic status once he donned his signature hockey mask (you've got to wait for part 3 to see that happen...patience!) . The goalie from hell is in an embryonic stage here, wearing overalls and sporting a canvas sack over his disfigured face, but once the killing starts there's absolutely no doubt this is the slasher we all  know and love.

Pour yourself a cup of coffee, put your feet up and get ready to howl at the prairie moon because it is time for THE LATE NIGHT FRIGHT!

Tonight's supernatural tinged movies are from legendary Oscar winner Clint Eastwood.

First up is 1973's weird Western HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER starring Clint as a man with no name who drifts into the town of Lago. Something bad happened in Lago a while back and it seems the mysterious stranger might be there to make the town pay for their atrocity. He might even turn the town into Hell...

Verna Bloom (NATIONAL LAMPOON'S ANIMAL HOUSE), Marianna Hill (THE GODFATHER, PART II) and Billy Curtis (TERROR IN TINY TOWN) co-star.

Our second feature is 1985's PALE RIDER, a movie that finds Clint's Preacher riding into California during the Gold Rush to protect some tin panners from gold magnate Coy La Hood (Richard Dysart, JOHN CARPENTER'S THE THING).

Michael Moriarity (Q: THE WINGE SERPENT, THE STUFF), Carrie Snodgrass (DIARY OF A MAD HOUSEWIFE), Chris Penn (RESERVOIR DOGS), Richard Kiel (THE SPY WHO LOVED ME) and Sydney Penny co-star.

Tonight's feature, THE FRIGHTENERS from Oscar winner Peter Jackson (THE LORD OF THE RINGS, KING KONG), was originally envisioned as a TALES FROM THE CRYPT feature film release, but executive producer Robert Zemeckis (BACK TO THE FUTURE, WHAT LIES BENEATH) thought it was good enough to stand on its own merits. Starring the one and only Michael J. Fox (BACK TO THE FUTURE, FAMILY TIES) as psychic con man Frank Bannister, THE FRIGHTENERS is some of the most fun you'll ever have being scared. Today is January 25th, 2021 and this is the 199th edition of THE LATE NIGHT FRIGHT, the only show available on Laserdisc and in Betamax. January has been dedicated to pitting films with similar themes against one another and tonight's show features two horror tinged, late 90s comic adaptations: 1997's SPAWN and 1998's BLADE.

SPAWN stars Michael Jai White as the titular hero, John Leguizamo as the villainous Clown, and Martin Sheen as the treasonous Jason Wynn. Based on the comic by Todd McFarlane, SPAWN boasts (at the time) cutting edge special effects. Will it be enough to overcome the bad assery that is 1998's BLADE? Wesley Snipes stars as the daywalker known as Blade alongside Stephen Dorff as Deacon Frost and Kris Kristofferson as Whistler.

Pour yourself a cup of coffee, put your feet up and get ready to howl at the moon because we have a terrifying one for you this evening!

January is dedicated to pitting films against one another with similar themes. Tonight's films are both remakes of classic slasher films in the horror canon.

First up is 2006's BLACK CHRISTMAS, a remake of the 1974 Bob Clark proto-slasher classic. Katie Cassidy (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake, ARROW), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (DEATH PROOF, THE THING), Michelle Tratchenberg (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, EUROTRIP), Lacey Chabert (MEAN GIRLS, PARTY OF FIVE) and Andrea Martin (the original BLACK CHRISTMAS, SCTV, MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING) star in this offering to the horror gods from writer/director Glen Morgan (WILLARD remake).

Tonight's second film is 2008's remake of the 1980 Jamie Lee Curtis classic PROM NIGHT from director Nelson McCormack ( THE STEPFATHER remake, PRISON BREAK). An obsessed former teacher (Johnathon Schaech, THAT THING YOU DO, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW) has escaped from prison and is stalking his high school crush (Brittany Snow, PITCH PERFECT trilogy, HAIRSPRAY). Scott Porter (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS), Jessica Stroup (TED) and Idris Elba (THOR trilogy, STAR TREK BEYOND) costar.

Tonight's films are being rated in four categories: overall film, killer, victims/kills and does it hold a candle to the original. In lieu of stars, BLACK CHRISTMAS will be awarded obscene phone calls and PROM NIGHT will be awarded tiaras.

Commercials include spots for The Evangelical Vegan, Cozy Corner's premier vegan restaurant and a vintage spot for Time Life's Mysteries Of The Unknowns book series. Also included are the film's original theatrical trailers.

Happy holidays and welcome to Cozy Corner! You are listening to THE LATE NIGHT FRIGHT, broadcasting live from WKMF Cozy Corner Public Radio. Thank you all for tuning in, be you a carbon based life form from spaceship Earth, or an astral traveler from a dimension yet to be discovered. Welcome one and all!

Tonight’s episode is the 196th edition of THE LATE NIGHT FRIGHT and was broadcast on December 21st, 2020. Tonight’s episode continues our month long celebration of the films of two of horror’s most revered names: Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. The Hammer house of horror was built on 1957’s THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, starring Cushing as Baron Frankenstein and Lee as the creature, and 1958’s DRACULA (released as HORROR OF DRACULA in the United States), which featured Cushing as Dr. Van Helsing and Lee in his iconic role as Count Dracula. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee would go on to appear in 22 films together and remained the closest of friends for the rest of their lives.

Tonight’s first film is a 1964 gem from the Hammer house of horror, THE GORGON, an atmospheric creature feature that reunites Cushing and Lee with director Terence Fisher (THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, DRACULA, THE MUMMY). The film also features Barbara Shelley and an excellent score from James Bernard, who had previously provided the music for both THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and DRACULA.

The next film is HORROR EXPRESS, a British/Spanish production from 1972 that is a riff on John Campbell’s classic sci-fi novella WHO GOES THERE, the story that would become the basis for THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD and John Carpenter’s 1982 masterpiece THE THING.

Tonight’s sponsors include Reverend Rieger’s Old Time Religion, Cozy Corner After Dark, Junior’s Hoedown, and the Church Under The Bridge (located under the bridge downtown). Be sure to tune in for all the fake news not fit to print!

Welcome to the 195th episode of the LATE NIGHT FRIGHT, broadcasting live from WKMF Cozy Corner Public Radio. Thank you all for tuning in, be you a carbon based life form from spaceship Earth, or an astral traveler from a dimension yet to be discovered. Welcome one and all!

Tonight’s episode for December 14th, 2020 begins our month long celebration of the films of two of horror’s most revered names: Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

Peter Cushing scored the first lead film role of his career with Hammer’s gothic retelling of Mary Shelley’s classic story FRANKENSTEIN in 1957’s THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN from director Terence Fisher and writer Jimmy Sangster. Cushing portrays the callous Baron Frankenstein, a brilliantly vile and callous genius who brings life to the creature played by Christopher Lee.

Lee has the title role in 1959’s THE MUMMY, another Hammer updating of a Universal classic. Cushing is once again paired with Lee and the creative team of director Fisher and writer Sangster returns behind the camera.

Tonight’s commercials include spots for the Dark Depository, Antoine Duplaix’s psychic services, the Cozy Corner mall, and season’s greetings from WKMF Cozy Corner Public Radio.

Welcome to the 194th episode of the LATE NIGHT FRIGHT, broadcasting live from WKMF Cozy Corner Public Radio. Thank you all for tuning in, be you a carbon based life form from spaceship Earth, or an astral traveler from a dimension yet to be discovered. Welcome one and all!

Tonight’s episode for December 7th, 2020 begins our month long celebration of the films of two of horror’s most revered names: Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

Peter Cushing has the spotlight tonight in 1960’s THE BRIDES OF DRACULA from Hammer Films. The first sequel to DRACULA finds the good doctor back in Transylvania battling a handsome vampire by the name of Baron Meinster (David Peel) who has his sights set on lovely school teacher Marianne Danielle (Yvonne Monlaur). Directed by legendary horror director Terence Fisher (THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, DRACULA, THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, THE MUMMY) and filmed beautifully by director of photography Jack Asher, THE BRIDES OF DRACULA is a thrilling and chilling Gothic vampire film and a worthy sequel to its landmark predecessor.

We have paired THE BRIDES OF DRACULA with another sequel to a landmark film. Five years after Bela Lugosi terrified audiences in Universal’s classic 1931 production of DRACULA, moviegoers were treated to 1936’s DRACULA’S DAUGHTER from director Lambert Hillyer (1945’s 15 part BATMAN serial). The film is a direct sequel to its predecessor and features a return appearance from Edward Van Sloan (DRACULA, FRANKENSTEIN, THE MUMMY) as Van Helsing alongside Otto Kruger (an apt name for a horror movie lead, don’t you think), Gloria Holden as the title character, Marguerite Churchill, and Irving Pichel. Released during Universal’s golden age run as the original house of horror, DRACULA’S DAUGHTER is a worthy entry in the canon, featuring all of the thrills, chills and atmosphere one expects from a classic Universal horror film.

Tonight’s commercials include spots for Farmer Felcher’s Old Fashioned Gluten, Holy Smoke (Cozy Corner’s premier Christian vape shop), Rumps Adult Novelty and Soda Fountain, and Hammer Curlz, an exciting new workout program hosted by the one and only Bobby D’Amato (host of AFTERGLOW, the show that comes on after THE LATE NIGHT FRIGHT).

BRAINS!

Tonight’s feature film, 1985’s RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, was the first in the zombie genre to feature the undead sons of bitches feasting on the human intelligence center. From writer/director Dan O’Bannon (ALIEN, TOTAL RECALL) and author James A. Russo (NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD) comes a mordant punk horror/comedy that was a critical and financial success.

Clu Gulager (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY’S REVENGE), James Karen (POLTERGEIST) and Don Calfa (WEEKEND AT BERNIE’S) lead a cast that includes Linnea Quigley (SORORITY BABES IN THE SLIMEBALL BOWL-O-RAMA), one of the all time great B-movie screamers.

WATCH HORROR FILMS, KEEP AMERICA STRONG!

Those were the words of the legendary Bob Wilkins, host of CREATURE FEATURES, the influential show that ran in the Bay Area from 1971 to 1984. As we find ourselves in the midst of the 2020 election season, THE LATE NIGHT FRIGHT has taken these words to heart. Say it with us: WATCH HORROR FILMS, KEEP AMERICA STRONG!

Tonight we journey back through the mists of time to a land of coffee houses, the Lilith Fair, and Oval Office hummers. That time is the 90s. The film is 1998’s URBAN LEGEND from director Jamie Blanks (VALENTINE) and writer Silvio Horta (UGLY BETTY), a film that arrived in the wake of SCREAM and I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER, two movies that ignited the horror renaissance of the mid to late nineties.

On the campus of a northeast college, a series of murders modeled after urban legends are taking place. Who is next? Who is the killer? Why does Joshua Jackson have blonde hair? These are just a few of the questions that lie at the heart of the movie!

The cast includes Oscar winner Jared Leto (DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, SUICIDE SQUAD), Alicia Witt (DUNE, TWIN PEAKS), Rebecca Gayheart (ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD), Joshua Jackson (DAWSON’S CREEK), Loretta Devine (WAITING TO EXHALE), Tara Reid (AMERICAN PIE, VAN WILDER), Michael Rosenbaum (SMALLVILLE, BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE), and horror legend Robert Englund (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA).

Join Dan and Faith for a look back at URBAN LEGEND and make sure to stay up date with all of the fake news not fit to print in the WKMF Cozy Corner Public Radio news update! Pour yourself a cup of coffee, put your feet up and get ready to howl at the moon, it’s time for THE LATE NIGHT FRIGHT!

Did a naked American man steal your balloons? If so, this is the movie for you!

From writer/director John Landis (NATIONAL LAMPOON'S ANIMAL HOUSE, THE BLUES BROTHERS) comes THE monster movie, AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON! From the moonlit moors of England to Picadilly Circle, this classic horror film follows the story of David Kessler (David Naughton), an American backpacking through Europe who is soon to become a rampaging beast. Griffin Dunne (AFTER HOURS, ADDICTED TO LOVE) co-stars as Jack Goodman, David's best (and undead) friend, and Jenny Agutter (LOGAN'S RUN) stars as Alice, the nurse that takes him in.

This film was the recipient of the 1981 Oscar for Best Makeup. The creature effects by Rick Baker are outstanding, the score by Elmer Bernstein is minimal, and the story is timeless, rooted firmly in the tradition of the Universal monster movies.

UNBREAKABLE was Shyamalan's follow up to his Oscar nominated film THE SIXTH SENSE and was slightly misunderstood upon its release. March is John Carpenter month on the Late Night Fright. The next film up is his 1982 masterpiece THE THING starring Kurt Russell. Still waters run deep but paranoia runs deeper.

THE THING was critically reviled upon its initial release but became a cult film upon its home video release and has undergone a critical reevaluation since then. The film is based upon the novella WHO GOES THERE by John Campbell, Jr., editor of ASTOUNDING SCIENCE FICTION. Howard Hawks produced a successful 1951 version entitled THE THING FROM OUTER SPACE directed by Christian Nyby, a film Carpenter admires very much. Truer to the source material, THE THING, adapted by Bill Lancaster, chronicles what happens when Snake Plissken plays a game of chess with a shape shifting alien.

Featuring a score by Ennio Morricone and wonderful supporting performances, THE THING may just be Carpenter's masterpiece.

The first episode of this two parter deals with the history of the story, Carpenter's signature style, thematic elements and the score.

March is John Carpenter month in Cozy Corner and the fun continues with the master’s 1981 film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, the movie that established star Kurt Russell (DEATH PROOF, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD) as a leading man and introduced the world to one of filmdom’s quintessential antiheroes, S.D. “Snake” Plissken.

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK was written by Carpenter and Nick Castle, the screenwriter who famously played “The Shape” in Carpenter’s 1978 masterpiece HALLOWEEN, and produced by Debra Hill. The film is a mashup of the action, horror, and sci-fi genres, moves along at a breakneck pace and really needs to be seen to be believed.

Lee Van Cleef (HIGH NOON, THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY), Donald Pleasance (HALLOWEEN, YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE), Ernest Borgnine (MARTY, THE DIRTY DOZEN), Isaac Hayes (SOUTH PARK, I’M GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA), Harry Dean Stanton (ALIEN, CHRISTINE) and Adrienne Barbeau (THE FOG, BACK TO SCHOOL) co-star.

March is upon us and that means it is John Carpenter month in Cozy Corner.

In 1978 the master of terror created the slasher genre with HALLOWEEN and bequeathed to us the character of Michael Myers while launching the film career of Jamie Lee Curtis and giving us all a few thrills and chills in the process.

Tonight’s film, 1980’s THE FOG, proved that the maestro and his writing/producing partner Debra Hill were no flukes. Sidestepping the sophomore slump, Carpenter and Hill gave us a chilling, atmospheric ghost tale full of isolation, mystery and revenge. If Michael Myers was real world terror, the monsters at the heart of THE FOG are his supernatural siblings.

Adrienne Barbeau (CREEPSHOW, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, BACK TO SCHOOL), Jamie Lee Curtis (HALLOWEEN, A FISH CALLED WANDA, TRADING PLACES), Janet Leigh (PSYCHO), Tom Atkins (HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH, NIGHT OF THE CREEPS), John Houseman (THE PAPER CHASE, THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR, THE NAKED GUN: FROM THE FILES OF POLICE SQUAD), Charles Cyphers (HALLOWEEN, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, MAJOR LEAGUE) and Nancy Loomis (HALLOWEEN, HALLOWEEN II) star in this chiller.

Mystery/thriller month continues with Brian DePalma's 1981 masterpiece BLOW OUT, starring everyone's favorite Sweat Hog Vinnie Barbarino (aka John Travolta).

Barbarino plays sound effects man Jack Terry, witness to a political assassination. Barbarino is joined by a stellar cast including Nancy Allen (Robocop, Carrie), John Lithgow (3rd Rock From The Sun), and Dennis Franz (NYPD Blue). This criminally overlooked film combines elements of Hitchcock and the Italian genre giallo (slasher/psychological horror/crime fiction) and may just be Barbarino's greatest on screen performance.

October is almost over and so is our look back at the classic Universal monsters. The month comes to a close with one of the greatest creature features of all time, 1954’s Creature From The Black Lagoon, the movie that introduced the world to the Gill-Man!

Get into the way, way back machine and travel through the mists of time with the Late Night Fright to 1925 for a look back at Universal’s classic adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s novel The Phantom Of The Opera. The film is a showcase for the Man Of A Thousand Faces, Lon Chaney, whose makeup design for Erik, the disfigured genius haunting the Paris Opera, is one of the greatest ever realized in a motion picture and is still absolutely terrifying all these years later.

The Late Night Fright has been spotlighting classic Universal monster movies throughout the month of October. The Phantom may be the most vile, despicable creature we’ve talked about on the show. He is a manipulative and possessive murderer, a far cry from the often popular view of him as a tragic, romantic anti-hero. Be absolutely careful of the music of the night and watch out for the falling chandelier!

News from in and around Cozy Corner includes the tale of Boppo the Clown’s adventure in the shark tank at the Cozy Corner Aquarium, a look at the box office juggernaut FART! The Musical now playing at the Cozy Corner Community Playhouse, Greg Huffleplank’s lawsuit against the Cozy Corner Travel Agency for denying him a ticket to Wakanda, and another impassioned plea to Robert Englund to come on the show.

October is here, fall is in the air, and Halloween is just around the corner. It’s also Wednesday and that means it is time to talk about horror movies! The LATE NIGHT FRIGHT is going to be showcasing classic Universal horror films this October and we are starting off with one of the best in the entire canon, 1932’s THE MUMMY directed by Karl Freund and starring the incomparable and uncanny Boris Karloff as Imhotep, the undead fiend who dared to defy the gods! Fresh off of the double successes of 1931’s DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN, Universal Pictures cast their newly minted horror star Karloff in the Egyptian themed chiller that features amazing makeup courtesy of the legendary Jack Pierce, beautiful production design, and a wonderful adversary for Karloff’s Imhotep in the form of Edward Van Sloan’s Dr. Muller. Thrills! Chills! Lost love and reincarnation! This one has it all! Pour yourself a cup of coffee, put your feet up, tune in and get ready to howl at the moon! It’s time for the LATE NIGHT FRIGHT!

In 1982, filmmaker George A. Romero (Night Of The Living Dead) and author Stephen King (IT, Carrie, The Shining), the masters of terror and the macabre, gave us Creepshow, a horror anthology film inspired by the classic EC Comics of the 1950s and it was the most fun we ever had being scared. In 2019, under the guiding hand of executive producer Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead), Creepshow is back as a six week series streaming exclusively on Shudder.

This week’s inaugural episode includes the stories “Gray Matter”, adapted from a 1973 King short story that is collected in the book Night Shift, and “The House Of The Head” from Birdbox author Josh Malerman.

“Gray Matter” stars Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Escape From New York, Swamp Thing), Tobin Bell the Saw series), and Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian). The story was direceted by Greg Nicotero from a teleplay by Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi.

“The Head Of The House” stars Cailey Fleming (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and was directed by John Harrison, the composer for the original 1982 film.

The first episode of Shudder’s Creepshow premiered on September 26th, 2019 and is available to watch with a subscription to Shudder.

Did our hard working crew at the Late Night Fright have fun being scared? Tune in to find out!

It's Cage Match Monday! Two films enter! One film leaves! Which will be crowned the CAGIEST? This week we have Vampire's Kiss (1989) pitted against Drive Angry (2011)! Are we getting through to you, Alva?!?

Vampire's Kiss features Nicolas Cage in one of his most nouveau shamanic roles as Peter Lowe, a publisher who may or may not be turning into a vampire. The film costars Maria Conchita Alonso, Jennifer Beals, and Elizabeth Ashley. Inspired by German expressionism, Cage's performance has become the stuff of legend and countless internet memes.

Drive Angry is pure grind house and unadulterated fun. Cage stars as John Milton, a man who has returned from hell to find his granddaughter before she is sacrificed by a satanic cult. The film costars Amber Heard, William Fichtner, Billy Burke and David Morse, but Cage's hair and stone faced delivery steal the show.
