Does American History have you feeling bored and questioning it's importance? This podcast will help clarify the different eras of American History while adding a mix of lesser known facts that make learning history interesting.
Today we will begin discussing issues that will lead our young nation War. This war still stands as America’s bloodiest war and is actually a war that is fought internally. North vs. South. Brother vs. Brother. We will specifically identify the causes using the acronym TISSUES and identify how slavery had created instability between a highly agriculture south and a vastly industrial north. Today we will continue our discussion of Reform & Culture. Please remember that we are looking specifically at reform during the 1800’s. Last episode we looked at the more well known aspects of Reform such as the Abolitionist Movement and Women's Rights. In this episode, we will continue exploring other areas of Reform in America. These movements include Temperance, Education, and Prison or Asylum reform.
How does reform begin and how do people feel about reform? Why is reform necessary? These are questions I have been asked recently and today my goal will be to answer these questions. In this episode we continue learning about American reform and culture by specifically looking at the major influences of reform on the abolition of slavery and women’s rights.
