Message from Josh Scott at Community Bible Church , August 4, 2019. What is the reality of your faith? Is it real, genuine? Is it your own? Does it show fruit? Does it move and enliven you? Does the Spirit dwell in you and excite you for God?
God moved first to reconcile people to him. Therefore...We do not work to get to Him. We receive His gift because He moved first. THEREFORE we move, work, and give in response.
Christ will return. He has promised and He can be trusted. His patience is not slowness but mercy.
With man's sin there was a great problem and all creation suffered because of it. But God had a plan.
We will all die. We will all face fearful circumstances. Reality is real. Where is your confidence? What is your confidence? How certain and real is it? How certain and real are you?
Luke 15. Three parables show the care and love of God and show that He initiates reconciliation even when the lost don't know they are lost.
Romans 1. God has revealed Himself through creation. People can perceive Him. People receive or reject Him. When people reject Him He gives them over to their own desires. Their minds become warped. And they warp reality in their thinking and actions.
Job, David, Paul all trusted God in real life. What is there about faith that is that profound? Is there a difference between knowing about God/Christ and knowing God/Christ? Is that difference important?
Jesus was born as a baby. That is wonderful. He took on our humanity, so He can be the perfect High Priest. He is Immanuel, God with us, so that we can be with God.
