Big Idea: Sorrows are coming. Persecution is around the corner. Jesus prayed for our joy.
Big Idea: Don't look for the answer you want - look for the truth. If you don't heed the goad, you will wander into dangerous places.
Big Idea: Moralism cannot save you. Neither can worldly wisdom. Only the shed blood of Jesus Christ can save you.
Big Idea: God brings the time and we must walk in it. Learn to be faithful in the moment of time that God brings.
Big Idea: The only hope is surrender to God. Or as Jim Carey said: I think everyone should become rich and famous so they can see it is not the answer.
Big Idea: The first step to moving to competence is to realize that you lack competence.
Big Idea: Who you marry is an act of worship. How you stay married is also an act of worship.
Big Idea: Precision jobs require precision training. There are heavy consequences for teachers who are not teaching rightly.
Big Idea: Much of our anguish and trouble in this world is "for a little while" - even though it can seem like a long time. Not all our troubles will be resolved while we are alive.
Big Idea: The Spirit will come, will convict the world of sin and will guide us into the Truth.
Big Idea: If there is a true vine, there is also a false vine. Make sure you're attached to the correct vine.

Big Idea: Few people take the time to read the Bible to investigate if the claims of Christ are true.
Big Idea: The higher a person's competence, the greater peace they can provide when they offer their assistance. Jesus is the most competent person that ever lived. He says "Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me."
Big Idea: Jesus endures the ugliest betrayal by those who are supposed to be closest to him.
Big Idea: Nobody but God can carry our pain. God has a big enough chest to beat on and big enough shoulders to lean on. God is good and sovereign. If God is not good and sovereign, then I have nothing on a bad day.
Big Idea: There is nothing that can prevent you from going to Jesus and accepting His mercy today except that you think you are OK.
Big Idea: Making the most of the present involves careful living and redeeming the time.

Big Idea: Jesus threatens your status quo. Jesus demands your attention. Jesus exposes your unbelief.
Big Idea: When Jesus walks into your world, don't settle for anything less than life with Him.
Big Idea: Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them.
Big Idea: It is not that Jesus is a little better than the old system of the law - He is surpassingly better!
Big Idea: Because the incarnate Word of God is a being like no other, He requires a response like no other.
Big Idea: The story of Job is a smaller version of what God is doing in your life and in the rest of the world.
God speaks. God questions. God silences. Job yielded to the sovereignty of God. Will you?
Big Idea: We must prioritize who we are listening to; in order to hear the voice of God, we must read the Word of God.
Big Idea: In today's society, we tend to put God on trial and make Him defend Himself. And He is perfectly capable of doing so.
Big Idea: Your words and your ways reveal the god you worship. Said another way, the God you worship shapes your words and your ways.
Big Idea: Even the godliest saints falter under the strain of suffering, but the God-Man did not falter.
Big Idea: There is a vast difference between an "armchair theologian" and a "wheelchair theologian."
Big Idea: Jesus calls us to Gospel Stewardship using all of our resources to reach others for eternity.
Big Idea: Christianity is not a transactional religion - it is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Big Idea: Some ambitions are not worth pursuing. Make sure you are pursuing that which is worthy of worship. Be ambitious for God's glory!
Big Idea: Welcome weaker Christians that don't get what you get because they've got the God that you've got.
Big Idea: Risen Hope Church, Trinity Presbyterian Church, Northbrook Baptist Church and Cornerstone Church joined for a Good Friday Tenebre service to remember the work Christ did on the cross.

Big Idea: Unbelief is active recalcitrance. You cannot run this race on your own. You need Jesus.
Big Idea: Out of God's sovereign mercy, He chose to save people - regardless of their past (or their family's past)...
Big Idea: "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched-- this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us." - 1 John 1:1-2
Big Idea: Because Jesus Christ addresses humanity's nastiest problem, public loyalty to Him is worth the cost.
Big Idea: Marvel at God's story. See Jesus as the climax of God's story. Find your place in God's story.
Big Idea: Rescue from judgement comes from faith in Jesus, not in the good things you have done.
