In order to enjoy the abundant life that Jesus promises us we must confront the monsters in our closet.
In order to enjoy the abundant life Jesus promises us we must confront the monsters in our closet.
We are all empowered by Jesus to live and work as priests (or ministers of the Gospel.)
We are called to live lives of hope, holiness, and harmony in order to point people to God.
What two courageous decision do you need to make in order to be obedient to God's promptings?
We gain so much insight from reading about and listening to those who have gone before us.
"There is nothing like a cold glass of water on a very hot day...so refreshing! Check out how we can have that same experience in our relationship with God."
When our relationships grow cold we need to turn up the heat. Especially, when it comes to our most important relationship.
What kinds of good things have we allowed to get us distracted from finding freedom lately?
Often, we try to fix our lives by dealing with the exterior. But the reality is, there is a work that only Jesus can do on the interior. We don't have to work harder to experience life change; instead, we must abide more.
How do you respond when the challenges of life happen and, as a result, your plans change?
If you had the confidence that you were a child of God, how would that change your life? Jesus came to bring us abundant life, but how do we experience that quality of life on a day-to-day basis?
How can you have faith that stands up when you feel like falling down? How do you endure the difficult, rocky seasons of life? How does God form in us a faith that never quits?
What giant has been staring you down lately? Where has defeat gotten stuck in your heart? God doesn't want us to simply tolerate the giants in our lives; He wants to deal with them, once and for all.
Why doesn't God fix all of our problems? If the battle and the victory already belong to the Lord, then why do we need to go through a process of testing?
What do you do when you feel stuck? How can you continue to be faithful even when you don't feel like it?
Where have you been struggling with fear lately? How can we destroy worry and enjoy our lives more?
So often, we feel the need to prove ourselves. We look for validation from others when, the reality is, our identities are not for sale. But how differently would we live if it were out of the approval of a God who loves us?
It's important that we don't leave any lament left in the cup; instead, we ought to pour every last drop out to God. And when we pour our complaints out to God, then we can simply bless the people around us.
From the very beginning, God has been the example of rest. This rest is called Sabbath. And Sabbath rest is like sitting in front of a fire with a loved one. But what does it look like for us to build in rhythms of rest in everyday life?
God wants to bless you. But He also wants to multiply what He has given you, so that you can be a blessing to others.
The table is the place where relationships happen. And there's no relationship more important than the one we have with Jesus. But what do you do when you feel unworthy to sit with him? What's keeping you from coming to the table?
A lot has been torn down in the past season. Relationships, systems, and churches have succumbed to consistent challenges. And the mounds of rubble feel a bit overwhelming right now. Our sense of security is gone, leaving us all feeling a little vulnerable. So how do we begin to rebuild ourselves, our relationships, and our structures?

You might need a miracle right now. And yet, no matter how impossible the challenges might seem, God can still make a way through.
God has moved in powerful and miraculous ways throughout every generation. And yet, unless we take time to share, our stories won't have the opportunity to stir up our confidence in God and the faith of the next generation.
In this series, we will hear stories of God's goodness, and set up altars to remind us that God is always faithful.

The Christian life is not possible without God’s presence and power. It’s not about trying harder; it’s about abiding more. We must learn to pursue God’s presence every day to experience the full, abundant life Jesus promises to give.

2020 has left many of us feeling pretty shaken. We've seen things revealed to be real that we didn't anticipate. How do you respond to the shaking we've all experienced?
’Twas the Night before Christmas is one of the most popular American poems of all time. And though the poem is widely popular (and we can all probably quote part of it), have you ever really thought about the night before Christmas? What was the world really like before Christ as born?

Life seems to come at us with break-neck speed. The faster it comes, the more jumbled our thoughts can become. And yet, we have to make decisions every single day.How can we trust that we’re making the right choices? It’s only when we move out of the fast lane, and into the slow lane.

From elementary school through high school, many of us had ideas of what the perfect relationship would look like in the future. While those dreams may not represent our current reality, a step in the right direction could be to follow the apostle Paul’s advice—move from our childish ways and start being grown-ups.
In relationships, we often believe if we find the right person it will make everything right.
So we ask ourselves, “Is this the right person for me?”
Maybe we need to be asking a different question: A question that shifts our focus from seeking the right kind of person to becoming the right kind of person.

In this series, we’ll see how a few small habits done again and again can change how you see yourself today and can transform you into the person you want to be tomorrow.

He flickers in and out of the Old Testament like a ghost.

He appears throughout the Bible as wind, smoke, fire, and even a dove—but who is the Holy Spirit?
And what does it look like in our lives?

At some point in childhood, chances are we all told our parents we were going to run away from home.
So we gave it a shot, got to the end of the block, and when we got scared, turned around, and went back home.
As adults, we run a lot farther away. Not from our childhood homes and earthly parents, but from a relationship with God as our father.
The good news however, no matter how far we’ve run, we can come back home.

Feeling trapped? Stuck in situations and cycles of behavior that you can’t seem to shake?
Maybe you’ve heard that Jesus came to save you, but in reality, that’s only part of the story.
He also came to set you free.

We've all been given a name.
However, the original name we were given isn't always the name we wind up living by.
Along the way, the world around us convinces us to live by a name that isn't true of us.
What name are you living out of?
I'm a Christian...now what do I do?
Regardless of where you are in your faith, there is a next step for you.
Experience a resurrection.
It doesn’t have to always be this way.
Sure, life is full of pain and disappointments. You’ve taken enough blows that you’ve stopped trying to get back up.
But that’s the beauty of Easter: Jesus’ resurrection is also your resurrection.
And that resurrection is one of hope, joy, and laughter. It’s a resurrection of life and meaning.
This Easter, we invite you not simply to celebrate the resurrection, but to experience one.
You can tell people about Jesus.
Sure, it can be intimidating: How do I say it? What's the right way to do it? What if people think I'm weird?
Regardless of the fears you might have, you can tell someone the greatest news in the world.

The beginning of 2019 will no doubt be filled with resolutions, goals, and attempts to add in new habits.
Chances are, one of those new habits will be to start a Bible reading plan.
But reading the Bible can be pretty intimidating. And boring. And frustrating. And [fill in the blank].
But it doesn’t have to be.
This time, it really can be different.

We all have places in our life where we need to experience the transformational power of God. Places where we've taken losses for far too long.
But this can be your time to stop taking losses, and start handing them out.
Christmas is ________________.
Filling in the blank can be tough, simply because there are so many possible responses.
But maybe there’s a response that puts everything in perspective and offers something much more fulfilling.
Have you been naughty or nice?
From an early age, we’re taught that if we’re naughty, we won’t get presents, but if we’re nice, we’ll get lots of presents.
In other words, Santa is keeping score, and you had better believe that he’s double-checking the list.
But is that how God sees it?
Are we really supposed to keep score, or is there a better alternative?

We stand on the shoulders of giants.
There are men and women in the Bible whose lives serve as an inspiration and a challenge to us today.
Will we settle for ordinary, mundane lives?
Or will we rise to the occasion, and run with the giants who preceded us?

Life doesn’t always go the way we expect, and we pray to God for help and guidance.
We go through pain, but our cries for relief seem to go unanswered.
Sometimes, our lives just don't make sense.

It’s easy to point the finger.
Whenever things get sideways, we quickly try to figure out who’s at fault. (And spoiler alert—we never seem to be the one to blame!)
But do we ever stop and take a look within?
Who we truly are—our character—has a major effect on our relationships.
So join us as we turn the finger back at ourselves and declare, “It’s not you, it’s me!”

What’s your top priority?
It’s a new year. It’s a fresh opportunity.
And yet, by February, most of our good intentions will give way to last year’s bad habits.
But what if there’s a way to make our resolutions stick?
What if we could succeed at turning our intentions into actions?

What’s a covenant?
It’s a word we’re not super familiar with; but it’s a word that can revolutionize our relationships.
Broken promises can be exchanged for faithfulness; skepticism can be traded in for trust.
And our relationships can shift from life-taking to life-giving.

What would it look like to take our church to the next level?
Sure, the level we’re at is good; matter-of-fact, it took a lot just to get to this point…but are we really satisfied with staying here?
Or could it be that maybe our church has so much more left to accomplish?
Could it be that we can go higher still?

We often think difficulty is a bad thing. But it's in the difficulty that we find the blessing and growth that we've been looking for. Even when things look bleak, God's cause is still able to move forward in our lives.
Every human being longs for a blessing from those who mean the most to them. And yet sadly, many never receive the affirmation they desire most.
How can we begin to tap into blessing power, in order to become conduits of blessing in the lives of others?
The blessing you have been praying for, the breakthrough you have been believing for, has been hidden in the thing you have been trying to send away.
And even though experiencing the blessing of God is a lot harder than anticipated...it's worth it.

It’s easy for a good thing to get twisted into a destructive thing.

Rise.
Okay, maybe you’ve done some things you’re not particularly proud of. We all have.
God is still crazy about you.
His compassion for you is far greater than you’ve ever dared to imagine.
You may have fallen, but you don't have to stay down. Grace is yours for the taking…today.
"Famous last words!"
All it takes is one careless comment to ruin a moment.
If only we had a rewind button for all the things we let slip out and immediately regret.
But a well-timed word of truth or encouragement can have just as powerful of an impact.
On the brink of death, Jesus spoke his final words, and their impact has echoed throughout history. Intentional; powerful; game-changing. Words that summed up the greatest life ever lived.

The perfect gift.
We search high and low; Wrap it with pretty paper and a bow; Max out the credit cards as far as they will go.
But do we ever stop and ask why? Is it social pressure that makes us buy? Or the family expectations ever reaching toward the sky?
Or perhaps, deep down inside we know; That whether the price is high or low; A gift from the heart allows our true feelings to show.

What keeps you from being more generous?
For many, it’s fear. We’re afraid we won’t able to make ends meet; afraid we won’t have enough.
But what if we actually have it backwards? And it’s when we step out to be generous that God provides for our every need?
Isn't it time to put aside the worry and start living in confidence?

What would it take for you to believe?
He turned water into wine, calmed a storm, made a blind man see, a crippled man walk again. So why do we sometimes lack the faith to believe that God can do a miracle in our own lives?

Great marriages rarely happen by accident.
Some simply need an occasional tune up. Others need a massive overhaul.
If you ran a diagnostic on your relationship, what would you find? Is your marriage firing on all cylinders…or broken beyond repair?
Whatever your relationship status, there is hope; not just for a marriage that survives…but one that thrives.

Many of us have lofty goals at the beginning of the year.
But often along the way, our big goals slowly fade into failure, and for some of us, we've had the same resolutions for years.
If we can make some small tweaks, then we'll reach great peaks in our relationship with God and our lives in this new year.

But often along the way, our big goals slowly fade into failure, and for some of us, we've had the same resolutions for years.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know...
Whether it’s a war over the last Blu-ray player, dealing with critical relatives, or the pain of having lost a loved one, we lose sight of the dream and focus on just getting through another year.
Is there really a way to experience a Christmas that's merry and bright?

Perhaps this year, and every year, your Christmas could be white.
The Church has been running hard for 2000 years, with each generation passing the baton to the next.
And now, it’s our turn to run.
Not aimlessly, but with laser focus; believing that if we will run with the vision Jesus gave us, we could transform the entire world.

Does prayer really "work"?
How can we know if God actually listens or responds to our prayers?
When Jesus prayed, it was obvious that something was different. His prayers supernaturally altered the lives of the people around him.
And from his example, we can learn how to pray; not tired, empty prayers, but powerful prayers that radically change the world.

If your brother claimed to be the Son of God, you’d think he was nuts.
Such was James’ dilemma when his half-brother Jesus claimed to be God. But what he first dismissed as nonsense became the Gospel truth he lived - and ultimately died - to proclaim.
James gave his life and left us a letter to pursue a calling he experienced firsthand: following boldly in his big brother’s footsteps.

At times it seems that we are destined to wander forever.
Aimless and purposeless, we wonder if we'll ever get to the next level.
Prayers never seem to reach their destination, and the desert seems to be unconquerable. These are the moments when faith faces it’s greatest challenge.
How do you survive trapped in Limbo?

How do you survive trapped in Limbo?
What if God has had a plan for your life since the very beginning?
Not just the beginning of your life, but from the foundations of faith itself?
God wants to rescue you; to deliver you from whatever holds you back; for you to live out His plan for your life; and for you to be part of a family that is making a difference.

Who are THEY?
Show me your friends and I will show you your future. From casual acquaintances to our inner circle, the people in our lives affect where we go and impact who we become.
We are a reflection of those we surround ourselves with, and their influence on us is much stronger than we might think.
So who are THEY in your life?

To celebrate or 3 Year Anniversary, we look back at what God has done, so we can look forward to what he still has for us to do.
It's time for a fresh start.
It’s not about being “fine,” or just getting through life. It’s about becoming everything we dared to dream we could be.
It’s not about resigning ourselves to, “This is the way it’ll always be,” but rather believing in faith, “This is the way it truly COULD be.”
It’s about living life to the fullest, and seeing God make all things new.

This Christmas Eve, you are invited to take a break from the chaos. To hear the voice that whispers in the quiet, “I love you.” To celebrate the birth of a baby that forever transformed a Silent Night into a Holy Night.
Silent night, holy night. All is calm, all is bright.
Beautiful lyrics that seem entirely disconnected from our present reality. Instead of calm, our city is gripped by fear and uncertainty. Peace feels like a vain hope that is far beyond our reach.
Yet at the heart of the Christmas Story is the birth of a baby - a gift of peace to a weary world full of turmoil and chaos.
Maybe our worlds aren't so far apart. Maybe this peace is available to us today.

When we make our home in God, we will be blessed. We are blessed with God’s presence, his power, and his peace.
Trying to figure out the will of God can sometimes feel like an exercise in futility. Kind of like trying to nail jello to the wall.
Is it possible to know—really know—the will of God? Or are we doomed to have it slip right through our grasp again and again?

We may not think about this question much, but it's a very important question. Who’s got your back? Who's going to stand in the gap when life gets difficult?
