Conditions in the fort become increasingly difficult. Quddús gives words of strength and courage to the remaining companions who joyfully celebrate Naw Ruz even in the face of increasingly desperate conditions. Unable to defeat the Bábís, the cowardly Prince Mihdí Qulí Khán resorts to treachery and the siege comes to an end. This episode features a live song written in honour of Quddús.

With the gates of the prison now open, His followers begin flocking to Máh-Kú. Fearful that the King may fall under His spell, he redirects the Báb to the prison of Máh-Kú, far away from the capital. When Husayn Khán orders the Báb to leave Shiraz, He sets out for the city of Isfahan, 'The Jewel of Iran' where He has been directing His followers to gather. As the Báb's fame spreads through Isfahan, the city's religious leaders become envious and hatch a plot to have the Báb killed. The governor*, however, takes a different view of the Báb.
*Historical Correction: In this episode, I said incorrectly that Manúchihr Khán, the Governor of Isfahan, was a Muslim. He was, in fact, a Georgian Christian.

Having completed His pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina, and announced His message to the pilgrims gathered at the Kaaba, the Báb returns to Persia. Sending Quddús ahead of Him, He warns him of the difficulties that lie ahead but assures him of his great destiny. When Husayn Khán, the ruthless governor of Shiráz, hears about the Báb, he immediately orders His arrest. The Báb responds in an unexpected manner.
