Welcome to The Biblical Life Podcast, a podcast where we analyze the topics of life through Scripture.
In this episode, we will discuss the idea of Free Will that is introduced in the Book of Genesis. We are thankful to not be mere cogs, but why is it that God designed and created us with the freedom to chose our own path? Come ponder with me some of the deeper questions of life that stem from our conversations surrounding the life of Eve. Feel free to email me questions, comments, or concerns at thebiblicallifepodcast@gmail.com.
There is a bright glimmering hope revealed in Genesis 3:15. Even though Eve and her husband Adam had placed themselves at the center of order and wisdom, Eve is given a triumphant prophecy. Come take a listen to this 'protoevangelion' or 'first telling of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.'
If you have questions or comments please feel free to email me at biblicalifepodcast@gmail.com. Thanks so much for listening and don't forget to rate and review the podcast!
In this episode of the BLP, we will be discussing how Eve enlightens our purpose as creation, which is to be in relationship with God and to be used by Him to carry out His plans and purposes on earth. Now, I know there is a lot to unpack in this weighty statement, but this is what can be very clearly gleaned from the Creation account in Genesis. This relational theme is the heartbeat of the entire Revelation of God found in His written Word.
In this particular deep dive of the life of Eve, we will explore the temptation of Eve and the consequences that result in Adam and Eve placing themselves at the center of order and source of wisdom. What disorder and distortion ensues as a result of replacing God with ourselves?
Feel free to email me at biblicallifepodcast@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you!
Eve and her husband, Adam, are remembered as two individuals who royally messed up, ate fruit from a tree they weren't supposed to, and basically ruined it for everyone else. However, is that really the key gleaning from the life of Eve? Surely not. Come explore with me as I do a deep dive into the life of Eve.
As always, please rate and review the podcast if you have time to do so. Would love for you to share these episodes with friends and family.

Welcome to the second season of The Biblical Life Podcast. In this season, we will be doing a deep dive into the lives of five incredible women from the Old Testament: Eve, Deborah, Hannah, Ruth, and Esther. My objective in telling each individual story is to have us think more deeply about the plans and purposes of God and to see the mighty ways in which these individual women reveal to us our greater role and purpose as God’s creation.

In this final chapter of Jonah, we will see how cynicism creeps in and persuades us to give up intimacy with our Creator for the sake of partial truths, fabricated lies, and distortions of what is truly good. And how over time, we give way to evil ambitions that are counter to God’s Will. So what will happen to Jonah in Chapter 4? Will he rejoice in the Ninevites deliverance or will the darkness within his soul win out? Listen and find out.
The Book of Jonah proclaims one of the most important truths about God; He is a God primarily concerned with human hearts. God is concerned with His creation and desires to be in relationship with them. How incredible for Jonah, right? He gets to be a part of God's redemptive work. Jonah, however, is missing out on being a conduit of God's mercy. In this episode, we will discuss not only how God is glorified as the merciful Lord, but also how Jonah responds to God's second commissioning to go to the people of Nineveh.
In this episode, I will be answering some listener questions from our most recent episode on Jonah Chapter 2, as well as provide some steps that will help us develop a more genuine prayer life.
In this episode, we will take a look at Jonah's prayer of thanksgiving after his sojourn in the belly of a fish. His anguish seems to be nearing an end, but his journey is just beginning.
What do you do when God has called you to do something, but you are struggling to see Him at work in that calling? How does shattered optimism impact the industries we work in, the lives we live, and the dreams we dream? In this episode, Sydney Goodwin leads us in a conversation that helps answer these questions, shares her story, and leaves us with a beautiful word of hopefulness.
In this episode, we will discuss how shattered optimism can lead to cynicism. How do we fight defeated weariness? Why does it "feel" like God is quiet in the midst of our greatest circumstances? Why do we struggle to trust God's guidance even though we prayed and petitioned for Him to take control? We will answer these questions and more in this episode. Enjoy!
In this episode, we will seek to answer a few questions surrounding the mystery of Jonah's deliverance from the tempestuous sea. Was Jonah really swallowed and preserved in a fish for three days and three nights? Why does God use a sea creature to extend mercy to Jonah? In what ways is Jesus exalted in this portion of the narrative?
In this episode, Jonah seems to have chosen death over life. His cynicism has led him into dark isolation, and Jonah doesn’t feel like he can get out of it. Yet, even in the midst of Jonah's disobedience and cynicism, the sailors are making an incredible faith discovery.
In this episode, we will continue to explore Jonah's resistance to God's calling, but will also focus in on the remarkable way that God reveals himself to non-Israelites during the greatest storm these seasoned Phoenician sailors had ever seen.
My wonderful wife, Sydney Goodwin, joins the podcast to talk with me about the cynicism in Jonah's life that is found in the first few verses of Chapter One. She sits down to ask me a few questions of clarification, shares her own insights on cynicism, and helps me uncover ways that we can detect cynicism in our own life. Enjoy!
In this special episode, we will be exploring God's Sovereignty. Understanding the identity of God can feel like a daunting task. But, if we are going to affirm or deny God, we must at least commit ourselves to know why we affirm or deny him. So let's ask the question...Who is God?
In this episode, we will seek to understand the reasons behind the seemingly foolish errand that God is sending Jonah on. It seems ridiculous that God would want Jonah to go into a strong enemy territory and be a vessel by which God extends mercy upon His chosen people's greatest enemy. Yet, that is exactly what the Sovereign God is asking Jonah to do.
We often times joke about Jonah and remember him as an incapable clown. But, I actually think there is something much deeper in this story. In fact, we learn some remarkable truths about humanity and God’s character. This episode is a simple introduction of where we are headed in this series over Jonah. Enjoy!
In this episode I want to share with you the purpose and vision behind this podcast. People are indeed interested in knowing more about the Word of God, but many people struggle to know how to begin and how to stay engaged. This first episode seeks to share three things with you; why we ought to approach the Word of God, how we ought to approach the Word of God, and my personal story that explains the ways the Word of God has changed my life. I hope you enjoy!
