William Lee Kaplan, lovingly known as 'Kap.' A dedicated couch potato turned husband and father of four, Kap is teetering on the edge of uncertainty. After three decades of marriage, he's now forced to confront the possibility of losing his beloved wife, Clara. As he sits in a sea of worry and remorse, he can't escape the echoes of Clara's pleas for help, echoing in his mind.
With Clara's life in the hands of God Almighty, Kap embarks on a heartfelt journey to connect with their children. How can he mend the strained relationship with his eldest daughter, Melissa, who's unfairly labeled as an 'angry Black woman'? How does he make sense of his son Malcolm's choice to work in a lingerie shop? And most importantly, can he heal the deep rift between his twin daughters, Brina and Tina, who seem to mirror the biblical story of Cain and Abel?
"My Wife, My Kids, My God!" is an emotional journey of redemption for Kap, his final chance to set things right. Will he rise to the occasion and become the father his wife always wished him to be, or has time run out? The answer lies with a higher power, and only God knows – for now, His plans remain a well-guarded secret.

Kristin has worked as a Studio Teacher at Beginnings Nursery School and as a Community Arts Educator at the Manny Cantor Center, where she facilitated early childhood studio sessions and family and senior workshops.
Kristin's educational nonprofits, Find & Seek, Story Workshop, and Little Creatures Films, have allowed her to develop a unique practice in video documentation of young children's imaginative play and original stories. She has produced over twenty short films alongside children, including Spirit Ship, a Red Hook-based mystery, and Through the Window, a collaboration with the Yale Center for British Art. Her work has been featured in Susan Ochshorn's book, Squandering America's Future: Why ECE Policy Matters for Equality, Our Economy, and Our Children (2015).

This month we will be receiving 100 chess sets that we will be giving away to kids. I could not have done any of this without your help. This month, I have a gift for you. It's the new Fixing Father's Theme Song. Last month, I shared some thoughts with my partner, Northside Nate. Please check out what he created. WOW! Powerful! The name of the song is "We're Fixing Fatherhood". My God, I love creative people. Enjoy.

Today Dr. Asbery talks about the importance of the father-daughter relationship. Involved fathers provide their daughters with support, safety, and protection. This is key for a girl when she is growing up. Especially when girls are seven times more likely to become pregnant as a teen without a father's input or presence. We want fathers to know that they are needed and that they prevent bad things from happening. Fathers are true heroes in the eyes of their children. Here at the David Lee Show, it is our job to make sure that fathers never forget this.

Today on the David Lee Show, Dr. Asbery tackles the topic of teaching our children to have manners and teaching our children the importance of being kind. With Youtube, Tic Toc, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, our kids are in the fast lane, and in this lane, no one has time to say think you. No one has time to say hello and nice to meet you. To some extent, we (mothers & fathers) have allowed the basic teachings of (old school) manners to erode from our children's everyday life. This needs to change. Join Dr. Asbery in a discussion on what we can do to help our children see the significants of manners.

For today's show, Dr. Asbery talks about the importance of giving back to the community by mentoring a child outside of your immediate family. There are so many kids in the community who are starving for a father figure who believes in them, who will work with them, who will take the time, and simply hear what they have to say. As a mentor, you have the power to change a young person's life for the better. As noted by youth motivational speaker, Josh Shipp, “Every kid is ONE caring adult away from being a success story.” A mentor is a torch that helps kids see into their futures. Here at the David Lee Show, we see the importance of being that light. There is nothing like getting a haircut and then getting into your car and driving home to your beautiful wife/girlfriend. During this drive home, you know that you are at your best. There is no need to look in the mirror because everything is tight and right. That tooth that was hurting a little while ago, no longer hurts. Why? Because you look good, that's why. You have taken the time to make sure of this. Join Dr. Asbery and "Coach" Bruce Trammell for a discussion about the importance of grooming. In this podcast, we posit the question: How important is grooming? Do women even care about grooming anymore? If so, (for a man) how much is too much?

Join "Coach" Bruce Trammell and Dr. Asbery for a candid discussion about the importance of wearing masks and dealing with our mental health. As men, and as black men in particular, we face greater health challenges as it relates to our mental health. Most of us work too hard keeping things inside. We carry so much unnecessary weight on our backs. This is because we fail to talk about our problems. We have to find a way to make talking about our problems, "sexy and cool". This podcast is an attempt at removing the stigma of talking about your problems. This podcast is about getting men to realize that it's okay to reach out and talk about their past, and about the present. This will enable men to carve out a brighter and more healthy future.

This week Dr. Asbery and "Coach Bruce Trammell sit down with former gang member and now community activist and candidate for Senate, Dr. Josiah Israel. Dr. Israel talks about his life as a gang member and how devastating it is to live through the aftermath of gang violence. In addition, Dr. Asbery talks to a mother (Wanda) who had to make one of the hardest decisions of her life. She had to let her son go...to the streets. His decision, not hers. Thankfully, her son found his way back. Unfortunately, many of our kids are not so lucky. These stories are important in that they will help parents to understand what needs to be done when dealing with our youth's infatuation with gang life, street life, and all the bad that comes with it. What a powerful show.

For this episode, Dr. Asbery links up with "Coach" Bruce Trammell to talk about the significance of fatherhood. Research shows that a father's love is just as important to the overall health and well-being of a child as a mother’s love. This week’s show is an attempt to deliver the message to the world that father's count. We want to acknowledge and point out to fathers that though they bring a significantly different set of parenting skills to the table, these skills are desperately needed. So, if you know of a father who needs a pick-me-up or some inspiration, please forward this show to him because his child, needs his love, his involvement, his insight, and his protection. We can all agree that a mother's love can never be replaced. However, here at the David Lee Show, we simply say, "ditto!" A father's love can also never be replaced.

What happened to that guy that everyone thought was so cool? He had the clothes, the car, the jewelry, and of course, the women. (plenty of them!) Way before the show, "The Bachelor" there were men who live their lives on their own terms. These men were unforgivingly selfish and would never consider saying sorry for their lifestyles. You had no choice in the matter. You either accepted his life choices, or you moved on without him. For this show, Dr. Asbery talks to a man who lived the life of a Bachelor, Mr. Bruce Trammell. When you get to a certain age, that old saying, "Life is too short" becomes a part of your vocabulary as it relates to the choices that you have made and the roads that you have taken. When we get deep into our thoughts, it is natural to second guess many of the decisions that have altered the course of your life. More often than not we find ourselves regretting many things, chief among them are not the things we did, no, we stress, we dwell over the things that we didn’t do.
