*TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains potentially distressing material**

"Facing my fears has been my new life mantra. Don't allow fear to cripple you into a slow coma. Tell yourself that you can do it daily. Push yourself, because you're worth it"  -Jodianne Beckford.

We tend to underestimate the work that comes along with growth and healing. Though it may come natural and easy to some -- to others it's a treacherous journey that often starts with a series of lows.

Commercial Photographer and Founder of @noirgirlsplant comes on to the queen series to share intimate details about her past and her growth journey.

There's such a taboo in our community surrounding asking for help -- no matter how small or big the ask is. Societal pressures and stigmas surrounding the Strong Black Woman (SBW) phenomenon and also cultural implications have made it difficult to call on our counterparts for assistance. But the truth of the matter is, asking for help is not only natural but also necessary. In fact, your chances of success are much lower when you don't ask for help. In sum, SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE ASK FOR HELP; if you don't ask, you won't succeed.

Host Elayna Christine breaks down the stigma around asking for help and provides tips to make asking a bit easier.

Work-life balance is a concept that we've heard time and time again. In theory, it's the act of dedicating equal time to living the life you deserve and working on the life you'd like to build. But what happens when the lines are blurred between the two and the definition of balance is hijacked by the commercial market? Many struggle with understanding and applying the idea of balance simply because we haven't dissected what it means to us.

CEO of Mini K Creations and Founder of the Biz Mixer, Karlena Waugh @catchkarhere, sits down with host Elayna Christine to get down to the bottom of why finding balance is so difficult, particularly in the world of being your own boss, and how you can define what balance means to you.

Shukura Clarke is a passionate entrepreneur with big dreams and even more ideas. Last Summer, she created Issa Sisterhood, a podcast all about the black experience for women of color in Toronto. After completing her first season with her co-hosts, she decided to hit the pause button on the project --a decision that proved to be a very difficult one, and one that she labels as a "failure."

Unlearning is learning to think, behave, or perceive differently, when there are already  beliefs, behaviors, or assumptions in place (that get in the way), at either the individual or the  organizational level. The unlearning process can be a very difficult one especially when said behaviors are passed down generationally. Queen, researcher, activist, artist Jen Katshunga sits down with Elayna Christine to explain the victories and difficulties she's had throughout her unlearning process and how it has ultimately led to her own healing and growth.

Affirmations work wonders for self-confidence, self motivation, and manifestations. As

we increasingly familiarize ourselves with the power of the tongue, we often seek guidance from

others to help us develop what we want to affirm in our lives. While this is a great start to

building from within, it can also be one that is a complicated and confusing process. Further, it

begs the question: How do I develop my own affirmations and what are the potential results?

Queen Shakira and Elayna sit down to talk about the process of how we create both positive

and negative affirmations and provide real life examples on the victories and failures that came

as a result.

The journey of being connected with self isn’t one that happens overnight. In fact, it takes time (and lots of it) to even begin to understand its importance and power in our lives. The desire to become more self-aware can hit like a ton of bricks for some and for others --not hit at all. For Zakiya, the desire to learn more and become more self-conscious has come, but when did it start and why now? Founder of the Nerdzzz Studio, Zakiya Hutchinson, sits down with host @Elaynachristine to talk about her story and her journey to become more self-aware.
