The After Apocalypse timeline is upon us with the announcement of the RG Project! In the A.A. era, humanity uses mobile suits to fight back against the Apocalypse: a self-proliferating ecosystem spawned by an interstellar object! We discuss the announcements of the Gundam Rogue Orbit video game and the MSG RG XARX-ZERO anime, both coming in 2027. Our musings cover our skepticism of these supposed "aliens," the surplus of mobile suits named zero, Isaac's refusal to embrace Zeonic Zoids, Brian's prediction that we are all Ray Azumi, the Gundam Zero's head shape, and whether John Peters is actually the producer (spiders are the fiercest killers in the animal kingdom...). Allez cuisine! The long-awaited Gundam food episode has arrived in the form of Iron Chef x Gundam! We each send a crack team of six Gundam chefs into Kitchen Stadium to see whose mobile suit themed cuisine reigns supreme! Our chefs bring the heat with appetizers like dumpling soup and onigiri, entrees with fugu and frilly toothpicks, and with desserts featuring truffles and cannoli. Who wins? It's up to you, the listeners! Plus, Isaac goes tit for tit, we take a popsicle tangent, and discuss society reaching peak matcha.
We run down the myriad of announcements made at Gundam Conference 2026 SPRING in advance of Mobile Suit Gundam's 50th Anniversary in 2029! For starters, the short film, A boy with Gundam, touches our hearts but leaves Isaac wondering where the monoeyes have gone? Plus, we ponder whether SEED Freedom needs a sequel; should the MSG remaster really be a remake; what exactly does new "footage" mean for the Wing fans; and should we make a pilgrimage to Japan for Gundam Con 2027, the Tomino exhibit, the landmark, and the various festivals... on Gundam Day? The second film in the Hathaway’s Flash movie trilogy, MSG: Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, hit US theaters on May 14, 2026, and we were there to bask in all its silver screen glory. We discuss the film at length, including Hathaway's dismantling of Lane (again); Alyzeus as Bandai's War Machine; whether Lane is a cyber newtype or just a drunk E.T.; Anaheim's implied policy on beam saber colors; weighing the evidence if Brinks' cat is a newtype; and predict whether Bandai / Sunrise will pull the ultimate punch, among others. Plus, Isaac dons his Bask goggles to justify Kimberley's squishing incident and discovers that he is somewhere between Degwin and Bask. Double plus, the Colony Drop crew enjoys a post-film dinner at the most thematically appropriate place: Outback Steakhouse!

We begin our road to Zeta by investigating how Zeon's Char Aznable of UC 0079 became the AEUG's Quattro Bajeena of UC 0087. There is no better way to do this of course than cracking open Hiroyuki Kitazume's 2001 manga, MSG: Char's Deleted Affair: Portrait Of Young Comet! On this episode, we review and discuss the first half (volumes 1-7) of this often polarizing story, including M'Quve's unquestionable demise redux, whether Maharaja Karn is really a Peacecraft from the After Colony timeline, Axis' Windows installation being out of date, the relative distance of Axis to the Earth Sphere, cameos galore, Fabian the (false) space rizzler and his frozen roses, the sliding scale of increasing Gundams, Char Aznable being without a sail for the first time in his life, and the triggering event in young Haman Karn's future that sets her down the path to become ZZ's final boss. Plus, Isaac is forced to read about Char on his birthday... and he likes it?
At long last, the Gundam live action film produced by Legendary and distributed by Netflix supposedly begins filming this month of April 2026! The live action film has been a favorite topic of ours so we examine how the film and our expectations have changed over the years. Former Writer Brian K Vaughn (Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina) and director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) have been replaced by new writer/director Jim Mickle (Sweet Tooth). The announced cast consists (so far) of Noah Centineo, Sydney Sweeney, Michael Mando, Shiola Kutsuna, and Gemma Chua-Tran.
Brian hopes for a successful adaptation in the vein of Super Mario and less of Avatar: The Last Airbender, while Isaac aims high with the latest Dune films. While the plot is under wraps, Brian bets on 08th MS Team or an original story, whereas Isaac holds firm it's a modified 0079 where the Gundam is replaced with AmeriMech, the USA's giant robot that fights with fists of justice. Plus, who is Sydney Sweeney playing: Lalah Sune, Fraw Bow, Aina Sahalin, or.... maybe Kuzco Al? In order to find out, we dispatch our man on the ground, Australian Isaac, to survey the filming and report back!

On January 18, 2026, the entire Colony Drop crew headed to our local movie theater for Gundam Premiere Night - a night which promised not one film, not a double feature, but an ultra rare TRIPLE FEATURE of Gundam films. With popcorn in hand, we watched all three offerings: MSG Iron Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt: Path of the Little Challenger, MSG Iron Blooded Orphans Wedge of Interposition, and Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. Since Endless Waltz is a classic and no one in their right mind could dislike Wedge of Interposition, we spend most of this episode discussing Urdr-Hunt. We discuss Sunrise's penchant lately for putting its DVD extras at the beginning of the film, Wistario Afam's quest to create Las Venus, wives snoring, mobile armor's having PTSD, the identity of Lord N, the real color of Orga's suit, Sunrise's animation capability, and just what the hell Wufei was doing. Plus, Brian finally learns how to watch Gundam Wing!

Having protagonists get trapped in video games has been a popular anime premise in recent years. What would getting trapped in a Gundam video game look like? Isaac takes us into the world of Kenji Everybody who is trapped in a Gundamized Final Fantasy via a mishap with a bottle of Ramune that leads to a jaunt across timelines with Gaia Gear technology and battles with AI. Brian takes a completely different path with Gundam Survivor which is essentially a One Year War trauma simulator that's equal parts MK Ultra, Battle Royale, and Hatchet. What kind of Gundam video game would you like to get trapped in (or trap someone in)?
In 1989's MSG 0080: War in the Pocket, Zeon's Lt. Col Killing orders Col. Von Hellsing to nuke the Side 6 colony known as Libot after the Cyclops team failed to destroy the Federation's new prototype Gundam via conventional means. As luck would have it, the Federation captured Von Hellsing's ship before the nukes could launch and spared Libot from annihilation. In this episode, we discuss what might have happened if Killing's plan to nuke Libot was successful. Brian sees this as an early version of Operation Stardust that inadvertently gives rise to a much earlier showdown between the Titans and Axis Zeon in the asteroid belt. Isaac sees an occupied Zeon with its people forced to choose a side, with factions like the Crossbone Vanguard, the Zanscare Empire, and the Jupiter Empire rising earlier. Plus, we wonder if AI and nanotech should qualify as WMDs; find out what happened to Lt. Col Killing; and argue about asteroid lasers and hot lava missiles! Welcome to Alfred's Nightmare!

After five years of covering Gundam, we finally review this masterpiece to give it the credit it so rightfully deserves. So buckle up and join us aboard the Ptolemaios for the last time as Allelujah fights Waymo; zombie Ribbons takes a WWE chair shot; Setsuna grabs the Metal Cap and joins the Borg; and the T-1000 gets renamed the Extraterrestrial Living Metal Shapshifters. The Gundam franchise has spawned hundreds of emblems over the last ~45 years representing ace pilots, factions, team squadrons, and many other groups. In this episode, we comb through the archives to find our favorite five emblems of all time! From classics like the Principality of Zeon, to modern standouts like the Phantom Sweep Corps, to iconic insignias like Amuro's unicorn "A", to enigmas like the Chimera Corps, or to obscure MSV logos from the 1980s like Col. In December 2024, Sunrise announced the newest Gundam TV series coming in 2025 titled Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux. Created by the minds behind hit anime Neon Genesis Evangelion and FLCL, what universal secret is GQuuuuuux hiding? Just how many u's are in GQuuuuuux? How do you even pronounce GQuuuuuux for that matter? Who gave the White Base a green paint wash and go-fast stripes? Brian fears he might be the old man yelling at clouds while Isaac demands those Zaku hips must be lying. Will there be sparkles and Gundam guitars? What about the Doms? We'll find out in 2025!

Despite being on Netflix, Solari's team has a very unchill time as they encounter the nightmarish Gundam EX and have to resort to Zaku Wacky Types patched together in a Zeon junkyard. In this series where every human looks like an uncanny glazed donut, we discuss Zeon's notebook of stock squadron names, probe Solari's psyche for possible ending motives, and recognize Zeon's sleight of hand skills for stealing the GM keys! Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom has finally arrived on Netflix! At long last, we can correct the tragedy that was our theater experience with a proper review! Made with love for Cosmic Era fans, the film is beautiful but feels a bit familiar to its predecessors. As we fight our way through the tutorial gauntlet, the absurd matchmaking times, and the ancient UI just to play the game, we find our preferred MS on unusual sides - Isaac in the Guncannon and Brian in the Gouf Custom. What world is this? Plus, Isaac refuses to buy any custom parts and dies, and Brian buys all the custom parts, but still also dies. While it's better than Evolution, we're still holding out for Gundamfield and Gundam-Strike.

The film is a cinematic side story in which Gopp hires women, M’Quve should’ve lead with the napalm, Doan teaches us how to milk a goat, Bright dual wields bridge phones, and the Jaburo propnunciation debate recurs. Plus, we miss the most important plot point (but figure it out in the end), discuss the implied morbidity of a full 0079 remake, and find evidence of The Bright Noa Academy for Gentlemanly Officers’ beginning in plain sight. We conclude our review of Suletta and Miorine's journey in The Witch from Mercury! While we were rooting hard for the show, we agree the ending didn't stick the landing (missed the airport entirely, actually) as Delling sleeps through the back half, Elan Prime's pen is mightier than a space laser, Prospera is for some reason rewarded with a Quiet life and faces almost Zero consequences, and Suletta raises her Permet score above 8 (whatever that means) for the win. Plus, we pitch our sequels: Peil's Revenge and Shaddiq's Counterattack; and Isaac reveals his belief that clones aren't actually people!

After being unsatisfied with Gundam Evolution, we design our dream Gundam video game: GUNDAMFIELD! Sunset Productions spares no expenses and has no budgets! Plus, Brian's kids do an Endless Waltz of sickness and health, a WWE tangent spurs a preview of Gundam Wrestling, we ponder what the Universal Century's currency is called, and Isaac blows our your candles.
Isaac bought himself a gaming PC for Christmas, so we take the recent Gundam hero shooter video game known as Gundam Evolution for a spin. We discuss our likes, dislikes, ways we think the game can be improved, and what units we would like to see added to the roster. Our biggest takeaway - always PTFO!
Isaac woke up one morning and decided he'd had enough of antagonists embracing space fascism in Gundam. "There are just too many! They must be stopped!" he said. So we went to work solving Gundam's problem of space fascism overabundance by presenting some alternatives, including communists, cults (of various kinds), engineers, machines, migrators, monarchies, and a charismatic rebel. Any listeners who believe human souls are weighed down by Earth's gravity may apply for a leadership position in Isaac's Soulism cult - coming soon to a Lagrange point near you!
In our first ace pilot spotlight episode, we examine the backgrounds of two of our favorite pilots from the OYW era - Anavel Gato aka The Nightmare of Solomon and Cima Garahau aka The Mayfly of Space! Gato is so popular, his exploits at Solomon got adapted three different times, but Isaac still isn't satisfied! Gato's beam rifle was so big that Sunrise had to retcon it and give him an ugly Dom as punishment (the blue one, NOT the totally-not-a-Dom-Tropen red one). Meanwhile, Cima must have the most dedicated fans in the world given her audiodrama got a sequel 20+ years later. Where is my 1/100 scale Gerbera Tetra, Bandai?!

Is Shaddiq our Char but with poofy pants this time? We trust in Suletta to save us all
Our suicide mission aboard the Icarus comes to an end as Tobia and the rest of the Steel 7 arrive at Jupiter to destroy the colony laser. Will Tobia's X-1 Full Cloth be enough to handle the Callistos and their Dictii? Amidst the fierce battle, we ponder if Giri's Vigna Ghina II was formerly owned by Dorel Ronah, ask why Giri hates the Callistos so much (bagels are involved), agree to disagree about space geometry, and punch a hole in Rosemary's sudden profound philosophizing.
