Let our assurance in Christ guide us to holy living.
Verses that support assurance: Acts 16:31, John 1:12, John 3:16, Phil. 2:12-13, 1 John 2:21, 25, etc.
Verses taken out of context to oppose assurance: 2 Cor. 13:5, 2 Pet. 1:10-11
1.Be assured of your current position.
A. Our position as children is of lasting quality. (Rom. 8:14-16, Gal. 3:26-29, Gal. 4:6-7)
B. Our position as children is a right, not a privilege. (John 1:12)
C. Our position as children makes us unrecognizable to the world. (John 1:9-13)
2.Be assured of your future position. (Phil. 3:20-21, Col. 3:1-4)
3.Use your assurance to pursue holiness.
A. Assurance in Christ is synonymous with hope. (Heb. 11:1-2)

Arriola Bible is no exception to that rule.
This morning we take a look at the Prayers of the New Testament. We know we should pray. We know the verses and the encouragements about praying. But do we always pray as we ought? Do we pray Biblically? This morning we will explore that concept.
This Morning we finish our look at Paul's farewell address to the elders from Ephesus. We see that the call to leaders is to guard themselves and then guard the flock which has been entrusted to them. How can anyone possibly be equipped for such a task? Doctrine. Knowing the Word. Making sure that all things are measured by the Word of God.
This morning we look at Paul’s address to the elders of Ephesus. He knew that he was not going to be able to minister to or with them again. Paul was following God’s leading in his life to go to Jerusalem. So he called for them and shared this farewell.
This morning we look at Ephesians 2:1-10. We see that if it were not for God’s grace, we would forever be dead. Spiritually and eternally. “But God” changes everything. Everything.
This morning we take a look at the main question of life: Who do you say that I am? Jesus asked this of His disciples. He then said that He would build His church. Are the two related? Absolutely they are! And we will see that clearly this morning.
This morning we focus in on who we are in Christ. This is not a small matter. For who you are… who you really, really believe that you are will always affect how you think and what you do. So come with us on a journey of seeing what the Bible says about who you are in Christ.

This morning we look at one of the basic, fundamental building blocks of all of life: authority and submission. It is everywhere – even and especially in the church. This passage in Hebrews lays it out for us and we see that when we all play our part, church life is a delight.
This morning we finish our study in Revelation by looking at heaven from Genesis thru Revelation. As we see the glory and wonder of heaven, as we come to grips with all that is ours, we too cry out with John, “Even so, Come Lord Jesus”.
In Hebrews 13:8, the writer of Hebrews declares that Jesus Christ in the same yesterday and today and forever. Because of that great, great truth. (A truth that is indeed a truth!) we then are able to live as we ought. Walking in the light and grace of Jesus, filled, blessed and impacting this world.
This morning in our on-going study of Revelation we begin chapter 21. Finally. It is done. We leave the judgments and wrath of God poured out on sin and unrighteousness. The Holy City. Tears wiped away. God among His people. Heaven! These last two chapters in Revelation are rich and full and give the believer great hope.
This morning in Hebrews 13 we learn what the writer of Hebrews meant when he said: show gratitude. This is not just thought, but this is a lifestyle of action that flows out of the love we have for Jesus.
We continue our study of the last three chapters of Revelation. Today we look at the final rebellion, the Throne of Judgement and the new heaven and new earth.
This morning Pastor Trevor teaches us that studying and understanding God's Word is great. But it is not enough. Believers should take the next step and start doing what the Word says.
This morning Randall L. gives us an introduction to the classes he will will be teaching later this summer. Theology in it's simplest meaning is what we believe. Our beliefs shape how we relate and interact with God, and with the world.
This morning is a very special day in the life of Arriola Bible Church as we celebrate and honor our high school graduates. As we see these young men and women move beyond high school to the next thing in their lives, we commend them to that next step, urging them to take the Name of Jesus with them and continue standing tall and strong walking with Jesus their Savior in faith.
The Second Coming of Christ, the Millennium, the Great White Throne, The Judgment Seat of Christ. We are coming to the end of life as we know it and the events are unfolding quickly in Revelation 19-20
This morning in our on-going study of Hebrews we see, once again that Jesus is better, much, much better than the old system. As those who come to and rest in Zion, our lives are to be lived in such a way that unending gratitude flow from us.
This morning we focus in on Revelation 19. The opening verses of Revelation 19 are verses of praise. Take a look at the book of Revelation - it contains many sections of praise to the Lord God Almighty. Then we will look at the reminder of chapter 19 which tells about the second coming of Christ.
In this week’s message from the book of Hebrews, we see a clear comparison of Mt. Sinai and Mt. Zion. One a place of shame and sorrow, pain and sin. The other a place of joy and victory, righteousness and eternal redemption in the power and name of Jesus.
This week we come to the final chapters of judgment in Revelation. In chapters 17 -18 we see the fall of Babylon and the rejoicing in heaven as the way is now clear (that is; sin and unrighteousness are gone) for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This morning we see that the writer of Hebrews exhorts us, urges us, pleads with us to strengthen, make straight, pursue and see to it. Applying all that we have been learning in this great book of Hebrews.
This morning we study Revelation 15- 16 which contain the prophecy of the Bowl Judgments. God’s righteous wrath upon the earth is quickly coming to an end.

Live and Never Die
Text – John 11:1-45
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Jesus said I am the Resurrection and the life. He explained this at the grave side of a dear friend. He told us the truth and then He asked a question: Do you believe this? Do you? Do your believe that H is the Resurrection and the Life? It is the most significant question you will ever have to answer.

This morning, Palm Sunday 2019, we turn to Matthew 26 and see Jesus in the Upper Room, introducing the Lord’s Supper, and then in the garden in deep prayer as He faces the cross, not for Himself, but for us.
Sin's Slippery Slope: James 1:12-20
In this sermon, the main point is that Jesus is the only way to combat the sin in our lives.
The outline is:
Sunday School – This week Andy leads our study in Revelation as we look at chapters 11-12. In these chapters we see that there are Godly witnesses during the tribulation and then we see the 7th trumpet judgment which contains the 7 woes. In chapter 12 God gives us a glimpse into the holy conflict between God and satan.
This is a life of faith. Run the race well. But run without entanglements, that is the sin which so easily slows us down and keep your eyes on Jesus. This morning we look at how we can live life like that!
This morning in in Hebrews 11 we see gain a glimpse of the how and why of the faithful men and women of Faith. How did they do it? Why did they do it? And, can we do it? Yes we can. Believers today are really no different that the saints of old, we too have what it takes to be men and women of faith.
This morning we continue our study of Revelation and look at chapters 8-10 the Trumpet Judgments. In these chapters we see God’s mighty wrath poured out on sin and unrighteousness – it is a chilling and dramatic scene. Therefore, we rejoice all the more at the salvation we have in Jesus Christ.
This morning we continue to look at the Old Testament saints living out their faith and leaving for us an example and inspiration to do the same.
As we start the chapters on judgments, we see the opening of the seven seals unleashing powerful judgments upon the earth and sinners. Then we see a glimpse of worship in heaven.
As we continue our study in Hebrews 11, we see the great saints of yesterday living out their faith and leaving for us an example and inspiration to do the same.
This morning we get a majestic peak into glory as we study Revelation 4-5. See God sitting on the throne. See the twenty-four elders worshiping. See the Lamb who was slain. See the wonder of what is next for believers.
As we begin to work our way through Hebrews 11 – the Faith chapter, the author of Hebrews takes time to make sure we know what faith is and how important it is to believers. We MUST have faith. We must have faith to be saved. But then, we must have faith in order to know God, follow God and please God. Do you have faith? Do you use your faith? Does you faith mark you? Let’s grow our faith.
Frank M. leads our study in Revelation by continuing to look at the letters to the seven churches found in chapters 1 and 2.
Pastor Trevor stands in the pulpit this morning. He teaches us that the lives of wise Christians should be marked by humility.
Frank M. continues our study in Revelation by taking a look at the letters to the seven churches.
Faith. Saved by faith. Walk by faith. Have faith. Faith is a big deal for believers and the author of Hebrews, having firmly established that Jesus is better, now asks us to build upon that truth and live our lives by, with, because of, and thru faith. This is the first of many passages that will direct us to and teach us about faith.
This morning we begin a new study in the book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ (really that’s its title – you can look it up. Some call it the Revelation to John ). Revelation. The last book of the New Testament that reveals the things that must soon take place. This morning we will look at chapter 1 which is an introduction to the entire book.
Hebrews contains many passages that have been called warning passages. These are written so that those who are reading or listening to this letter who do not belong to Jesus Christ, those who have not embraced the Jesus who is better, those who are not saved, might carefully consider what it means to reject Jesus Christ as Savior. We come to one such passage this morning. Today we come face to face with the main thing: what have you done, what are you doing with Jesus? The answer has eternal consequences.
This morning we complete our three year study of the Gospel Project with this New Testament review.
This morning in Hebrews we turn a corner as the author, having established that Jesus Christ is better that all the old system contains, now asks us to take that foundational information and build our lives upon it. From doctrine comes behavior. From doctrine comes thinking. From doctrine comes the desire to change and to shine for this great God we see through doctrine.
This morning we continue our review of the Gospel Project. We have a chance to step back and see how God worked down through the ages. We will summarize every lesson we have had for the past three years.
Message – Text – Hebrews 10:1-18
Title – Saved, Sanctified, Perfected
Today we look at Hebrews 10:1-18 and once again see that Jesus is better. So much better than the priests and sacrifices of the Old Testament. Jesus saves, sanctifies and perfects once for all time.

December 30, 2018. The last Sunday in of the month and year. Soon we will take down and put away the decorations that have brightened our days and nights. As we take care of that job, we must be careful to not take down, put away, throw out the joy and hope of Jesus. For that joy and hope are lasting and will guide us all year and beyond. Did you see Jesus? And now what will you do with Him?
As we continue our brief overview of Revelation, this morning we look at the words of Jesus to the seven churches in Asia Minor. These words, written years ago to specific churches, are words for us today in our churches. In these messages, we find challenges that must be heeded by today’s followers of Jesus.
“And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn” says Luke 2:7. No room. Can you imagine making no room for this!? Surely we would make room for Messiah. Wouldn’t we? Would we? Do we?
On this Sunday before Christmas we read the entire Christmas story and talk about the miracles of Christmas, then we look at the miracle of God at work in our lives. He did great things then and He does great things now!
As we draw near to the end of The Gospel Project, today we begin looking at the book of Revelation. When Jesus revealed Himself to John, He pointed to His identity as the First and the Last, the Living One. He also pointed to His work on earth - defeating death and hell through His crucifixion and resurrection. John sees this same Jesus exalted in glory.
This morning marks the first of a Christmas series – let’s slowdown in this season of joy and wonder and see Jesus. Today we look at the stories of Mary and Joseph. Just common ordinary followers of God who said yes to the Lord. We have in them excellent examples… Will You say yes to the Lord when He asks you to serve and obey?
This morning we look at how believers must cling to hope as the Lord unveils His timeline. We must have patience and faith. Jesus will come, the day of judgement will take place, a new heaven and a new earth are both realities.
This morning Pastor Trevor finishes up our study in Psalm 103. “Bless the Lord oh, my Soul” - The Psalmist begins and ends this great Psalm with those words. And in between we learn why we are commanded to do just that.
This morning Frank will be teaching form Jude. A book in the New Testament that though it is small – it is mighty in its teaching on Defending the Faith!
This morning we continue our study of Psalm 103. Clay Pots…. That’s what we are. And yet, we are special treasures created by and saved by God for His glory.
This morning we talk about one of the greatest, most important words in Christianity: Hope. The Bible talks about Hope from cover to cover. Real meaningful Hope comes from God, it is one of His gifts to us that enables us to shine as we walk and live in this world as aliens and strangers.
This morning in our ongoing study of Psalm 103, we come to verses that cause us to stop and stand in awe! God will not hold us guilty. God will not treat us as we deserve. God will not reward us according to our deeds. Rather, He pours outs His compassion, love, grace, mercy, kindness and we stand redeemed.
On this Sunday before Thanksgiving, we will take a journey through the Scriptures and look at the Biblical concept of Thankfulness. We will be challenged to be thankful people, not just during this time of year, but everyday in every way. We will be challenged to Be the One!
This morning Pastor Kent begins a study of Psalm 103. Today we look at some of the many benefits the Lord grants us, that should cause us to Bless The Lord.
This morning as we look at the book of Philemon, we see that God is continually at work in our lives, and that He is more interested in changing us spiritually than in changing our physical circumstances.
This morning Pastor Kent directs our hearts in study and worship as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. We are reminded that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross was enough. Sufficient. Jesus declared: “it is finished” and with that things would never be the same again. Still today, we can stand in the presence of God, we can walk and live on this earth knowing that It Is Finished!
This morning in the Gospel Project we look at Colossians 1. Problems arose in the early church very quickly (problems in the church then and problems in the church now, it’s just the way it is…) and the book of Colossians addresses one of those problems. We see in chapter 1 how Paul; dealt with this particular issue – he said let’s look at Jesus Christ! Let’s see His majesty. Let’s see His supremacy. Let’s look at Jesus. That is a great solution for most any problem, then and now!
Pastor Trevor fills the pulpit this morning, and tells us how to have pure joy. And that is by putting to work the faith we have in Christ.

This morning our guest preacher is Darrel; and he takes us to John 8 where we will see that the prerequisites for truth and freedom are found in abiding and discipleship.
This morning Frank teaches from Acts 23 where we see how Paul deals with being persecuted and facing a trial. We see that Paul leans on the resurrection hope found in Christ as the only source of Christian courage.
This morning we continue our study in the book of Psalms and find ourselves looking at Psalm 95. Our God is so glorious that He is worthy of constant praise. Constant worship. So join in with the throng – sing and shout, come into His presence… today… now…
This morning we look at faith and Hebrews 11 – the hall of fame of faith. Faith is what we are all about and yet so often we misunderstand faith. Today we will, using many verses and Hebrews 11, get a firm grasp on this most wonderful thing called faith.
This morning in our continuing short journey through the Psalms, we look at Psalm 32. This Psalm was written by David following one of the darkest times in his life. He was living in sin and the weight it of was too much to bear. Fortunately, God always provides help and hope for the believer, even in the darkest of sinful situations.
This week in the Gospel Project we will be looking at the Armor of God from Ephesians 6. Spiritual warfare is real, demons are real, Satan is real and God has made it very clear how a believer can combat the evil one and thwart his plan.
This morning we get ready for our annual Family Camp here at Arriola Bible Church. Our theme this year is The Songs of the Fellowship – a study in Psalms. We will get an overview of the Psalms and then read through a few getting a feel for the beauty and splendor of the Psalms.
This morning in our study of the Gospel Project we look at Galatians 5 and see how believers ought to walk. Not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. In the age of grace, on this side of the cross, it is all about fruit. But not man made fruit. This is the Fruit of the Spirit. Fruit that comes from a transformed new heart.
This morning Youth Pastor Trevor Jones preaches from Psalm 1, which teaches us that life is about choosing, and that choosing sets one on a path that has incredible consequences: both good and bad. Choose wisely.
Once Apart, Now Together. That is the title of this week's lesson in The Gospel Project. Without God: apart from Him, apart from the church, no purpose. With God: fellowship with Him (close, intimate fellowship), a place to belong in the church, a purpose, a mission and a point to life. Jesus changes it all!
As we finish up Hebrews 7, we see once again how Jesus is better than the Old Testament priests. We see the fullness, the completeness, the totality and the security of salvation in Jesus.
This week we continue to see how God has transformed His people. We come to this glorious truth: Once Slaves, Now Children. Our newness requires a new identity and we find one as adopted children of God.
This morning we see the insufficiency of the Levitical Priesthood and then the sufficiency of the Melchizedek Priesthood – a priesthood that is forever, better and comes with a promise from God.
How does the church function? What takes place in the church? What do we do? These answers are given in the Bible – our guide for all we need for life and practice.
This morning we begin to study Hebrews 7 where we are re-introduced to Melchizedek and learn more about Jesus being better than the Old Testament system of not only sacrifice, but also the priesthood.
This morning we study 1 John 3 - Love in Action. Is there anything more significant for the believer than to love one another? "You will know them by their love" Jesus said.
One more week we find ourselves in Hebrews 6. This week the author concludes his argument concerning better things with this: hope. Hope that is found in Jesus, who is the Anchor of Our Souls.
This morning in The Gospel Project we are looking at James 2. An ongoing battle in our world for believers is to banish favoritism and embrace love and mercy for all.
As we continue our study of Hebrews, we move forward with the argument found in chapter 6, that challenges us to move on, mature, embrace Jesus, not just for salvation but for life , and to pursue Better Things.
This morning we study 1 Corinthians 1. As the new church began, we find many diversities; as we do in the church today. But the church is that most unique of all things in that it is the Body of Christ and in Him, we find unity.
This morning as we continue our study in Hebrews, we come to a passage that can be difficult and misunderstood. Leave that and press on, the writer of Hebrews exhorts us. What do we leave? And what are the consequences if we do not? And to whom is the writer talking? We will answer these questions and more this morning.

In our ongoing study of Acts, we come to Acts 17. This is known as Paul's Mars Hill address. What makes this sermon so worthwhile and worth our study is that Paul knew his audience and that knowledge enabled him to share the Gospel in a very meaningful way. The same is true for us today. If we are to influence people for Jesus in our culture, we must use wisdom in what we say, when to say it, and to whom we say it.

This is the second week in a row of looking at Christianity 101. Last week we focused in on the Word of God. Today it is prayer. In our passage in Hebrews we see that we can and ought to pray. Pray regularly. Pray boldly. Pray knowing that He cares. Pray and receive mercy, grace, hope and help. Pray.
This morning in the book of Acts, we come to chapter 15. A major problem has come up in the early church - is it Jesus Christ plus nothing or is it Jesus Christ plus other things in order to be saved? That was the question then and it is a question today. The answer then and the answer today is Jesus plus nothing else. Salvation is by Him and Him alone.
